Should a Centro auto reconnect to a bluetooth speakerphone?

I have just recently bought my first Centro, and have just yesterday bought a "Beyond BT-BCKC" car sun-visor type bluetooth speakerphone. I have managed to pair them no problem, however I have noticed this...
When I get into my car and turn the bluetooth speakerphone on, the Centro does not automatically reconnect to it. (ie; the bluetooth symbol in the Centro's display does not change to headphone symbol).
I would have thought that the Centro and the speakerphone would automatically reconnect as soon as they were in close proximity of each other.
Because of this the speakerphone times out and switches off.
However, if I make a call on the Centro soon after turning the speakerphone on, it does connects and stays connected until it goes out of range.
Is this problem likely to be an issue with the Centro, or the bluetooth speakerphone.

Getting data off semi-functional 755p

I have a 755p that has very odd symptoms. (a) It won't synch any more -- I can press the Synch button on the cable, and the Palm thinks that it should be synching, but it never connects. (Yes, HotSynch is running on the XP PC.) (b) The "phone" app doesn't come up -- no matter what screen I'm on (even in a game), pressing the "phone" button (or choosing the "phone" app from the home-page apps menu) flashes a moment and puts me back where I was. Calls to the phone go to voice-mail immediately, so the cellular network knows that the phone part of the 755p is dead.

The Verizon store confirmed that the phone is relatively hosed, and a new one is on the way. What I'm hoping is that I can find a way to transfer the Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and possibly other databases (which I think are in PDB files on the device) over to the new 755p.

When I look at the Beam functionality, it doesn't seem to show data files. (Everything has a "lock" icon next to it.) I've read that there are file manager programs that can beam anything, including the PDB files, but I don't know how I can get any new software onto the device -- even if I put a new program (which is a PRC file, right?) onto an SD card -- but I don't see where to put one on this device; there was one in the earlier Treo I had -- it won't run from there. And without a file manager program, or the ability to synch, I don't know how to copy any PRC file onto the Palm itself.

Am I going to lose all the info that I have that hasn't already been synched to Palm Desktop? (I have to return the busted Treo within 10 days.) Unfortunately, I haven't done a synch since the room that had the PC with Palm Desktop got flooded (another story!).

I'm very Windows-PC literate -- but there's no "command prompt" for the 755p. Any help would be appreciated. (Would calling Palm support result in my talking to anyone who knows as much as the people here?)

Thanks for any assistance. (A file manager will be the first thing on the new phone!)

I have searched this forum and have not been able to find the answer, surprisingly.

I lost my 800W over the weekend. I did something worthy of the Idiot's Hall of Fame: All my Sprite backups were on the micro-SD card in the phone, and I had not copied the backups to my computer except one from last December! Still, I regularly sync my phone with ActiveSync and thought for sure this would at least restore my contacts. After syncing my replacement phone, all I have is my calendar from Outlook. Does anyone know if there's another step I need to do here? Otherwise, nearly seven months of contacts and saved phone numbers down the drain.

Hi:

A friend just gave my mom their Centro.

A couple quick question.

How can I set it to have keysounds when hardware/keyboard buttons are pressed?

Ho can I delete the names/numbers in the "To:" field on new text messages (I mean when you click the small arrow next to To)?

What software do I need to Sync the phone to PC?

Why are the sounds so low when I press hardware keyboard to dial phone number, (system sounds are set to max volume)?

Does the Centro have T9 predictive text, or word suggestion feature? If so, how do I enable it? My mom is new to texting and is used to the Motorola Razr "recognizing" what she is typing.

Thanks!

I have been using splashMoney and splashShopper with my treo(s) 4-ever. recently I had to buy a new laptop with Vista and then had to upgrade my desktop OS to 6.2. FYI, I learned that I could no longer Hotsync with my usb cable - had to start Hotsyncing with bluetooth - but i digress. My real problem is that Splash software is apparently incompatible with palm os6.2...UGH! I cannot seem to find a good finance-management software that is compatible with palm os6.2. Has anyone found one? I am going to be lost without my electronic handheld / desktop check register, etc.

I had to get a new Treo Pro, because of the cycling issue I had mentioned before. Sprint was great about it, as usual. I backed up all information and programs on my card, so re-installation was easy. But, the e-mail accounts did not transfer, so I had to once again imput them. On the e-mail tools section it would not let me use the same names as before for describing my accounts. So I entered different names, still no big deal. On the today screen the old names remain and will not show the new names of the e-mail accounts...any ideas how to get the new ones to show and the old to disappear?
