First Nicole Kidman was spotted with powder splotches on her face and now Jessica Biel is rocking the same look. They must be sharing makeup artists or they are going for that freshly coked-out look like Kate Moss. On a more serious note, don’t these beezies look in the mirror before they strike poses?

It was not long ago that the news of Simon Cowell’s engagement to make up artist Mezhgan Hussainy was confirmed. Now sources reveal that they are planning a fall wedding! Miles Siggins, American Idol’s stylist, who is thought to be close to Hussainy, said that he’s heard the wedding will take place in September.

“I have to be honest, though. I was kind of surprised. I knew they were dating, but I was surprised that they got engaged [so quickly]. But she’s great. I guess he just made his mind up. And they are really happy together,” said Siggins.

Siggins also revealed that Cowell gave Hussainy a $400,000 engagement ring. We wouldn’t have expected anything less from Simon!

Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, the stars of The Runaways, looked gorgeous at the movie’s premiere. Fanning wore a Fall 2009 Valentino couture dress and Stewart wore a pink Doo.Ri dress. We think they both looked great, but which look is the best?

This perfume craze among celebrities is just getting out of control!

The news of Jennifer Aniston to sign a contract with Falic Group to release a fragrance came as no surprise. When you wake up and read about a different celebrity releasing a fragrance everyday, it just becomes old news. Jen is the best and I love her, but if she had made this move a year or two ago, it would be fine. Now, it’s just another celebrity perfume.

Quite frankly, we can criticize it all we want, but it seems like there is no end. An award show should be started with different categories to award these savvy business ladies! And I mean very savvy! Britney Spears has sold over one billion bottles of scent since the launch of Curious in 2004.

Miuccia Prada showcased a very wearable collection for Prada’s Autumn/Winter 2010-11 runway and she credits her husband Partrizio Bertelli, Prada’s chief executive.

“He’s far more of a provocateur than I am. With him, you’re always questioning yourself. He and I have a little rule of three. If he says something more than three times, then I need to think about it,” Prada says of Bertelli.

Although the wearability of the collection came as a good surprise to most fashion watchers, the brand is still criticized for its “stodgy” web tactics, and compared to brands like Burberry who have embraced networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter.

“I think that’s bulls**t,” Prada told the Wall Street Journal Magazine. “Why does showing a photo of someone wearing a trench online mean being open to the world? What if we found out years from now that Twitter is crap? Maybe, years from now, we’ll all have been mistaken.”

For a brand like Prada, we would have to agree that Twitter and Facebook might not make such a big difference. However, they sure do help up and comers to make a name for themselves in this web saturated world we live in!

Très Dope caught up with California-based designer Mahtab Azimi to discuss the inspiration behind her gorgeous line filled with pieces tailored to compliment a woman’s every curve. We also chatted about how she got her line started as well as her love for Michelle Obama and Coco Chanel.

TD:  WHEN DID YOU DECIDE YOU WERE DESTINED TO BE A FASHION DESIGNER?

MA: I’ve always loved fashion…creating fashion is something that always brought me a lot of joy. I knew from a very early age that I wanted to be a fashion designer.

TD:  WHAT WAS IT LIKE LAUNCHING YOUR OWN LINE? ANY STRUGGLES?

MA: I didn’t know anything about launching a line other than I wanted to launch a line. So I faced a lot of road blocks, disappointments and struggles when I started. Whenever you do anything new or take a risk like starting your own business you’re inevitably going to have some struggle, but looking back those were the defining moments that I learned and grew the most.

TD: WHO ARE SOME DESIGNERS THAT INFLUENCE YOU?

There are so many to choose from…I’m inspired by so many designers. Coco Chanel is the designer that has influenced me the most. Not only did she single handedly change fashion but her story is remarkable.

TD: WHAT TYPE OF WOMAN WEARS YOUR LINE?

MA: All women can wear my line. That is one of the main reasons why I started my own line…my dream was to create a line that women of all ages, shapes and sizes could wear. Great fashion should be ageless, timeless and definitely size less.

TD: WHAT CELEBRITY WOULD YOU LOVE TO SEE WEARING ONE OF YOUR CREATIONS?

MA: I would be honored if any celebrity wore one of my pieces. I’m honored when anyone wears one of my pieces…to see women feel great and look beautiful in something I created is an amazing feeling and my favorite part of designing. It would be my dream if Michelle Obama wore one of my pieces. I love her, her style, what she has done for fashion and really everything about her…I’m one of her biggest fans.

TD: IF YOU COULD GIVE AN INSPIRING DESIGNER AN INSIDER TIP, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

I would say stay focused and stay positive. Be grateful…the more you’re grateful for what you do have…the more you have to be grateful for. You might not get into every boutique you want…and you might not sell as much as you want the first season…but don’t ever give up.  I’m just a girl trying to find a way to make her dream a reality.

TD: WHAT’S NEXT FOR MAHTAB AZIMI?

MA: I would love the opportunity to continue living my dream. I want to continue pushing myself artistically, and make each collection the best I can. And hopefully better than the last. We’re making some major changes in 2010. Expect a lot of new styles, a fresh, new exciting spring collection. And we’re working on a few charity events that are very close to my heart. Hopefully you will hear and see more of the Mahtab Azimi brand in the new year.

Rie Rasmussen had some not-so-nice things to say about fashion photographer, Terry Richardson. Rasmussen thinks Richardson uses his power and persona to lure girls and put them in some shady situations.

According to Rasmussen, “He takes girls who are young, manipulates them to take their clothes off and takes pictures of them they will be ashamed of. They are too afraid to say no because their agency booked them on the job and are too young to stand up for themselves. His ‘look’ is girls who appear underage, abused, look like heroin addicts . . . I don’t understand how anyone works with him.”

The model continues, “I told him what you do is completely degrading to women. I hope you know you only [bleep] girls because you have a camera, lots of fashion contacts and get your pictures in Vogue. Instead of arguing with me, Terry ran out of the bar. Then the next day, he called my agency and complained I called him names in front of clients in Paris. It was the most cowardly thing I have ever seen.”

Hmm. Terry’s camp hasn’t returned any emails or phone calls but back in 2004 Richardson said, “I don’t like to exploit anybody. Everyone has fun on my shoots.”

Hmm, who do you guys believe? Doesn’t this remind you of that one episode of Gossip Girl?

The French engage in a stampede at the opening of the first H&M store in France. Come on girls, everyone loves clothes, but this is just madness!! They should seriously try implementing lines that are used here in America for crazy H&M events.

Viktor & Rolf were the genius designers behind Lady Gaga’s extravagant get ups for her latest video “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé. Most of her clothes for the video were custom made by Viktor & Rolf, including the dark grey leopard jersey jumpsuit with a studded bodice decorated with metal chains.

“Lady Gaga asked us to design a prisoner’s outfit,” Viktor & Rolf explained. “This is how we imagined Gaga if she was incarcerated. She inspired us and her bodysuit was included in our brand new “glamour factory” collection. It is styled with a huge pile of exaggerated metal chain necklaces.”

The video was everything Gaga and more. If we thought we had seen everything from the Lady, we were mistaken. With a “To Be Continued…” message at the end of the video, which is by the way just under 10 minutes, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
