10 Funniest Christmas Movies - My Opinion

SO reading our local online paper I find this Web link. It lists the 10 funniest Christmas Movies. I tend to agree with some but think there should be some moved up or added. Here is My List.

I moved the DARKER Christmas Movies to the bottom which in some aspects may be funny, personnally I think Bad Santa is funny but because of the moral aspect which I am not judging here and only looking at it from a pure HUMOR perspective I think it goes way down on the list. Nightmare Before Christmas is a Classic love story and very DARK at that not too funny really.

SCAM or NOT you make the call

OK so I've been looking for a smaller car that I can use daily to drive to work and save my truck for pulling the boat. Yes, I ended up looking for BMW Z-4 models. I searched Ebay, Autotrader and Cars.com. Here is one I found that was very ODD but also such a good deal I had to followup. Below is the text of the e-mails I received and a picture or two. SO the car was listed for $25,000 with 5,000 miles on it and it is a 2011. ALSO the phone number was 813-888-999 this was suppose to be a Tampa number however it is disconnected.

SO I responded to the ad. I called the number and I asked the guy to contact me. HERE is the e-mail he sent me.

"Hello XXXXXX,

The car is still for sale. The asking price is $25,000. It is located in Tampa, FL and the VIN is WBALM1C55BE393804. The car is registered on my name and the title is clear (no lien). It is in great condition, no dents or scratches. It was always garaged and the regular maintenance was done in time. It wasn't involved in any accident and has never suffered any kind of damage. Also this is a non-smoker car. I've attached photos and the carfax report. If you have any questions regarding the car just let me know!

I had a buyer offering $26,500 and I've lost about 2 weeks waiting for him to pay just to find out in the end that his loan wasn't approved. I've lowered the price because I'm in desperate need of cash it's either the car or the house so if you don't need a loan you can have it.

AND what do you know I received the SAME EXACT E-MAIL again. This is where I knew it was a SCAM. SO if anyone is searching for info on this guy "James W. Bentz" or if you get an e-mail from jameswbentz@yahoo.com you will know that this is what he is doing trying to sell a car that is stickered at $73k for $25k HAHA now if it is too good to be true it probably is.

Eat-Less Diet

OK so I'm now down to 202lbs in less than 3 weeks. that 9lbs lost just because I eat less than I used to. I have to admit I am now also exercising about 30 minutes every other day as well by walking and running a little on a treadmill. I intend to keep this up and think it will work. Cinnamon Oranges

Ingredients

4 navel oranges
2 tablespoons orange juice
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

The "EAT-LESS DIET" concept

OK so here it is and it is very simple the "EAT-LESS DIET". The basic concept is EAT LESS FOOD than what your body burns during a normal day. First off I am not a nutritionist or a doctor or trying to MAKE you do this but if you want to lose weight this DOES WORK with minimal effort and minimal exercise.(minimal exercise = walking)

STEP 1. go to a web site called Livestong.com (I am not affiliated with this site and receive nothing for promoting it).
STEP 2. sign up and use the "Calorie Goals" tab to enter your information, (AGE, HEIGHT current weight and how many pound a week you want to lose. An aggressive start is 2.5lbs a week. I reccommend STARTING at this and after 1 week moving to 2lbs a week LOST.
The reason I recommend that you start at 2.5lbs is because it makes you have a mental concept of losing weight and then it also gives you a goal and something to look forward to when you jump to 2lbs.
Many weight loss diets fail because you set an end point weight and it takes forever to acheive and you never feel like your progressing. With the "Eat-Less Diet" you achieve goals everyday and you have other goals and things to look forward to while doing it.

STEP 3. While shopping look at the items you buy and be conscious of the number of calories in each item.

STEP 4. Track EVERYTHING YOU EAT IN LIVESTRONG.COM. This is important because it helps you to see what is low in calories and remind you that you are watching what you eat.

Here is some proof of my weight loss progress to date to show that it can work.

This basically is showing you 2 weeks into my diet and how my weight has changed. A few details are needed to help you understand and give you a comparison point.

1. I am 5'9", 42, 215 pounds and wanted to get to 190lbs. I entered LOSE 2.5lbs/week and started with about 1296 Calories available for me to eat PER DAY and I exercises every other day by walking. At first I walked 10 minutes at a time and have now progressed to jogging about 20 minutes a day. (within a two week time period)

Obviously your results may vary but it is a good start.

New Years Resolution. And things unrelated

OK so everyone has a New Years Resolution. Me I have two. One is to lose a little weight. primarily cause my Blood Pressure is skyrocketing and I hate Doctors. Second Pay off all of my bills.

These should be easy right. Well everything always seems to come up and you never get to do the things you have big plans for when you think these resolutions up.

However Losing weight is a very good one and one that many people do and then by the end of January about 50% of them are done trying. What I found is that it is because you have to change too much of what you are already doing. Lets face it CHANGE is hard. SO here is the plan and its not hard. Just change how much you eat. Eat the same things just not as much.

I am not doing this alone I have some technical help from Web Sites and other sources that are helping me manage how much I am eating. and let me tell you it is easier than any diet I have ever tried before.

IN the next few posts I will go over what I believe is the best and most efficient way to shed a few pounds.

I call it the "Eat Less Diet" and it truly is that simple. And the tools to do it are readily available on the web FOR FREE.

First off I have to say that you know who you are! Second If you think I might be talking about you then your probably one of the stupid people.
Here it is, Many people believe they are smarter then they actually are as a matter of fact everyone believes this. It is just a matter of self assurance and feeling good about yourself HOWEVER when you start to truly believe this and argue about things with people who are truly smarter then yourself that is when you become the IDIOT. It becomes extremely obvious that you have no formal education and your G.E.D. is just what you think it is a Piece of Paper to get a job. Of course that is all it will ever get you is just a JOB not a Career or a Professional Position or anything higher then Swing Shift Manager or its equivelant at a McDonalds or KFC. Which you will then be put in charge of the other IDIOTS who you are now by default, probably because of Time, or maybe because you look older, But you are by default the King of the Idiots.
       Why do I say this? Smple. First off you started out life in the comfort of some nice house in the middle of the suburbs both your parents worked and you were given everything. Second, you grew up during a time of "No Losers" Everyone got a trophy and in a race there was the first winner, second winner, the third winner......etc.... SO you never understood that if you didn't win you actually were the FIRST LOSER......at this point you were given a Sense of entitlement. This was your ticket to get what you wanted and you got it not because you came in first and earned it but because it was yours before anyone ever knew they had to give it to you. Because in your mind they had to give you what you wanted because you deserved it. You know what I'm talking about. Spring Clothes Shopping, Summer Clothes Shopping, Winter Clothes shopping. Oh and god forbid that you didn't get an alotted amount spent on you then all hell would break loose and you were cheated. New Car, the latest cell Phone, or Electronic or whatever it may be you got it.
         This is also where you probably learned how to lie as well. You told one little lie and because you didn't get your ass smacked for telling the lie you learned that it actually made things easier for you to justify or explain away the things you should have gotten in trouble for. This is also where you learned you never got truly in trouble because you could lie your way out of it.
           How did the TV Break? I don't know it just didn't work when I got home from school. Who was driving my car? I don't know wasn't me. Who Stole the twenty off my dresser? How would I know. These all culminated in making you understand that if nothing can be proved then HELL, you could say anything that you wanted and thats where you became really stupid. In fact this is where your idiocracy starts. You tell a lie and another and another and nothing happens. So eventually you start telling lies about everything to cover other things that you did or have done so no one will ever know and the fact is that you don't remember what the truth is and what a lie is you even begin believeing the lies you tell yourself.
          This is where the Smarter person makes you look like the Deserved Idiot you truly are! The smart person knows that saying you didn't eat a piece of cake is a lie but no way to prove it so who cares. BUT When your busted in the drive way with a hand full of weed and a homemade pipe in your hand and you say. "What this is my inhaler" LOL what a full fledged IDIOT. Duh I can see you and the proof is in your hand. Next is where the law comes in and you begin to lie about things to Officers and Judges and the next thing you know your in jail again. Blaming everyone else for being so mean to you. An example would be getting pulled over for a DUI. No problem you get a court date and you tell people you talked to the cop and he said "No Worries" I will let you off....(Your story at least) and then the day of Court you don't check into Times to show up where to go etc... and you miss your court time, BUT you say you were on time and oh yeah you met the Cop in the hall way and he said "Don't worry, I'll get the charges thrown out". (Your story again) So you go about your happy day thinking wow Lying was easy today, I'm so smart they'll never catch me. BUT the fact of the matter is MOST people that hear that story IF they are not as stupid as you are thinking this.
      Pay attention to this because this is what smart people do. They understand rational thinking and decision making processes SO they do this. they attempt to get the story straight so they can understand it and they basically repeat what you said and see if it makes any sense. Then when it doesn't make any logical sense THATS WHEN THEY understand your an idiot and a liar and they know your story......Here is what I am talking about.

So the cop said, In the hallway of court, don't show up I'll take care of it? The Cop Said, as he casually was sitting outside the courtroom with the other people he was accusing, "I am a Liar and I am going to go into court and tell the judge I lied and pulled the person over for no reason and I just wanted to make sure you know this your honor and go ahead and let so-and-so off the hook, Sorry about wasting your time." Yes to a smart person this is totally obvious BUT if you exhibit any of the afformentioned characteristics then well YOUR AN IDIOT and you probably didn't come to this conclusion. You also are trying to restate the point, NO the cop didn't say he was a liar he said " Don't worry about it I'll get you off." Ummm if you try to rationalize this and don't understand what was truly being said then Duh see the Subject line cause thats you.

It is just a simple answer the people who vote did not see this movie as it was intended to be seen. Large format, 3D and impressive. That is the only reason! I saw "The Hurt Locker" and I loved it I know what they were getting at I understood the feeling and I could relate to the dual life that he led. But it was something that I saw on Blu Ray and got the same experience as I would have had in a Theater. AND THAT IS WHAT HOLLYWOOD NEEDS TO KNOW. Most people have 63 Inch Blu ray 1080p 240hz, surround sound, whatcha mahoohies and watching Movies on that type of system makes it very enjoyable. ALSO very affordable, I already spent the money to build my own theater so why go and sit in someone elses. With todays economy no one wants to spend and these are trends that will continue for quite some time. I actually make that my decision point I ask one question. 1. Does this movie need to be seen on the big screen? PERIOD. and it doesn't take much decision to answer either. THINK ABOUT IT HOLLYWOOD CRONIES. You didn't even go to a BIG SCREEN to see it. AND you saw it for FREE. Each movie gave you the exact same experience. AND THATS NOT WHAT THE NORMAL PERSON is LOOKING FOR. Tell me why I would want to go to a big screen to watch the most obvious politically driven nominated movie, "Precious" on a big screen. What a Crock! I'll probably never see the MOVIE EVER and it won't change my opinion one bit on Movies BUT I saw Avatar and it makes me want to see MORE 3D. Hmmmmm, Thats my stupid rant so deal with it!

My Verizon DROID review DAY #2

OK after I bought it and got it up and running on my upgraded line. The actual cost came to $199.95. NO extra data plan. ($29.99)/mo I already had with Verizon.

It is rather heavy by comparison to many phones BUT thats not a bad thing it feels STURDY and WELL BUILT. I wouldn't want it to be lighter than this. The screen sensitivity is just right and the resolution rocks. SOME of the pages come up a little SMALL to read but double tapping the screen zooms it right in. The page orientation is not as fast as I thought it would be sometimes it doesn't rotate when I want it to but I think thats operator error rather than software or phone.

I won't go into every aspect but the keyboard (FROM PREVIOUS REVIEWS was identified as being cramped) well I had a Blackberry Pearl and this thing is heaven compared to that cramped key arrangement. The D pad seems to be useful only for map navigation.

As for Navigation I tried the voice nav and it works as expected. You have to type in the address which I thought would be voice initiated but no worries you type it in and hit navigate and your off.

so far on Day 2 I don't see any problems with the phone and couldn't be happier. I'm sure Apple is rethinking their position on not having iPhone on anything but AT&T. As for all the AT&T hostages. Don't worry this is the first droid and many more will be on their way and I'm sure AT&T will want one of their own.

DROID PHONE, Cost, Pictures and Information

Just to give an Idea of the DROID it is touted to have a lot of FEATUREs that the iPhone does not have. It is also being hailed as an iPhone Killer this is because of the multitude of applications that will be available in the near future due to the ability of 'Open Source' development which the "Android 2.0" OS provides.
Here is a List of the Features so far.

-- Updated Maps Application, which includes Layering to pinpoint friends, and searches.Say "Map of Gas Stations" and it opens a map of gas stations on Google Maps

Lets compare some other Android 1.0 Phones.

-- HTC Hero to be released 2009 $549 - $639 (Sprint $179 with two year contract)
Some Verizonwirless Windows Mobile Phones
-- HTC Touchpro2 -- $299 ($199 w/2yr contract)

SO from these figures the rough questimation is between $299 and $599 probably in the upper regions of the $500 range. I expect about $549 for the Android 2.0 phone.

Seeting UP DirectTV Remote and Receiver to use RF

I had a heck of a time finding this information without a manual and by searching online. I got half of it but you would think more people would want to find all the answers in one simple place so here it is. I am using a DirectTV HD receiver and a RC24 Remote Control all supplied by DirectTV around 2006. First set your Reciever to use RF.
First look at the back of your remote to see if there is an "FCC" sticker. Then look on the back of your reciever and write down the "Receiver ID" located on a sticker on the back of your reciever.

1. With the TV on choose MENU.
2. Scroll down and choose "Parental, Fav's & Setup"
3. Scroll down and choose "System Setup"
4. Scroll down and choose "Remote"
5. Scroll down and choose "IR/RF Setup
6. Select the option and it will allow you to choose either IR or RF.
7. Once you choose RF it will switch to a screen that shows the instructions for setting up your remote. BUT here they are anyway

REMOTE SETUP

1. Set the selctor on the top to the DirectTV Icon.
2. Press and HOLD "Mute" and "Select" buttons untill the green light flashes twice
3. Enter 961 on the number keys then press the "Channel UP" Button.
4. Enter the last 6 digits of your RECIEVER id at this time. XXXXXX Press Select

That should do it now you can control your receiver through the wall or from outside.

Scallop Trip 2008 (Steinhatchie)

Ok the Plan is starting to form. We have the House Reserved for 18 July (Friday) for two nights. Currently we have two boats going. Mine and Eddy's We have around 14 people going and have a spreadsheet to break out the cost. Initial plan is to leave Friday at around 7:00am and when we arrive we drop the boats in the water and head out to scallop until we limit or 4:00pm which ever comes first.

We are changing the way we break out the cost this year. The house and gas are the primary items to be split the rest will pretty much be left up to each person. The house cost was bumped from $300 to $400 per night with $28 tax per night to a Total Cost for the two nights of $856. The house sleeps about 14 people. The bad thing is the GAS for the boats has risen a lot since last year so this years trip will be a little higher we are estimating around $750 dollars for gas for two days. One thing we would like to try is to have the boats BOTH full then when we are done we go fill them up and split the cost. Which would mean people would need cash at that time to split the cost. This way we only pay for the gas we use.

Boat Camping and What you need.

Obviously you can't camp without a tent Or you can but typically the bugs will GET YOU. We use the following items when Camping on the beach from our boat.

Food

Tent

Tarp

Rain Gear

Grill/Cookstove

Lantern

Water Bucket

The essentials are about all you want to take to minimize the amount of things your taking on your boat.

First we lay out our tarp to give a place where you can walk without sand. Next we set our tent up over the tarp with most of the tarp to the front of the tent Make sure you have SAND tent spikes or at least the spikes are long enough to grab in the sand. Then you place a bucket of water near the tent door and a towel for wiping your feet off. so before you go in the tent you step in the water and wash your feet off then you step on the towel to dry your feet off. This will minimize the amount of sand in your tent and add to your comfort. Hopefully you cna have a bonfire and you will want to make sure you have wood or gather some from where your staying.

The best part of Beach Camping with your boat is if you fish you can fish all night long and if you love the ocean and the beach you have the best and some of the funnest times camping boating fishing and hanging at the beach all in one big weekend trip. What more could you ask for.

Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey

Me and Laurie went to a Tampa Bay Lightning Hockey Game the other night and had the best seats in the house. We got AFS Seats from her company Lawyers. The tickets themselves had a price of $227.75 each which included ALL you can eat food and Free Beer and Wine. the food was great everything from Chicken wings to Oysters, nachos, cakes and Pies, and Sushi. What great time and the whole night was fantastic.
