Did you know that the Cardiio app can accurately measure your heart rate, by using the camera of your iPhone?
Here’s how it works:

Every time your heart beats, more blood is pumped into your face. This slight increase in blood volume causes more light to be absorbed, and hence less light is reflected from your face. Using sophisticated software, your iPhone’s front camera can track these tiny changes in reflected light that are not visible to the human eye and calculate your heart beat!

Very nice infographic about the mHealth in the US.
According to the article:”there were more than 1 billion visits to physicians’ offices in the U.S during 2011. According to the survey driving the data for the infographic, it was found that 40% of doctors believe mobile health technologies can reduce the number of office visits. In addition, 80% of doctors are already using smartpthones and medical apps, of which there are more than 10,000 available in Apple’s iTunes App Store.
It was also found that doctors are 250% more likely to own a tablet than other consumers, while 56% of doctors who use mobile devices say they expedite decision-making because of it. A full 40% say they decrease time spent on administration as well.”

The new Audi City ‘Digital Showroom’ is a new form of retail experience. Itcan fit in any typical high-street store or shopping centre mall, so brands can increase the volume of people who experience the brand and the car, in virtual form..
The Audi City Store consists of interactive digital walls, controlled by pressure sensor floor plates and large tablet-style devices allowing customers to create a car from the group up and see the car in true scale on the huge digital walls in front of them.

The US market should be very attracted by that type of communication.
