By Layton Green Review-Post

My thoughts:

Two private investigators, who are investigating the deaths of two satanic cult leaders, lead them to a strange and very dangerous situation.
I found this to be an intriguing and captivating story into the dark world of the occult. Page to page it takes you deeper into the search of the people involved. The author doesn't disappoint in the thrill factor in this his latest book. It was a suspenseful journey.
My brother-in-law turns 50 this weekend. So, in his honor, please pick up your nearest book your currently reading; and turn to page 50 and then share the first 50 words with the rest of us.
" Monsieur Xavier Marcel also received a letter. Except for his name, it was exactly the same as the one delivered to Matthias Gregory, declaring Xavier a heretic and announcing his death in six days time."
"I guess that settles that. And kills my theory that Matthias was killed by a rival Satanic church."
Rel. Date: 9-17-13 368 pgs. Wm Morrow publisher
It begins with a call in the middle of a snowy February evening. lying in her bed, young Sylvie Mason overhears her parents on the phone across the hall. Her parents have an uncommon occupation, helping "haunted souls" find peace.

This is a story of three women whose lives come together by sharing their heartaches in their present and from their past lives. In the book the three sisters are the three houses atop the highest hill on Blackberry Island, in which each live and are neighbors.
Andi was jilted at the altar, Boston lost a child and Deanna has control issues with her family.
It's a book I don't normally would read, but found the story to be somewhat predictable, but yet interesting. It would be a great beach and summer read since it has all the elements, tears, love and romance.
Give us a sneak! What are you reading? Tell us about a fun or fail read.

I'm currently reading Three Sisters By Susan Mallery.
The story starts out with one of the characters getting jilted at the altar, after a ten year relationship with the guy. It's both fun and serious at the same time.
My pre-publication (can't-wait -to- read) selection Is:

The Whole Enchilada (hardcover) By Diane Mott Davidson Amazon Release Date:
8-27-13.

A birthday party goes deadly wrong when one of caterer Goldy Schultz's friends collapses and dies there. What at first looks like a heart attack turns out to be murder by poison and Goldy's the one who provided the food for the party. Goldy is attacked in her own house and is determined to find answers. She sets out to unmask a devious killer in her own midst.

Wondrous Words Wednesday

Wondrous Words Wednesday

My thoughts:

Since Gen lost her baby eight years ago, she still can't get over the pain. Then one day someone shows up at her door and says the baby is still alive. Although she can't get specific answers from her husband, Art, and best friend, she begins to suspect something is going on that she alone never knew about. Locran, a former friend of her husband's comes to the her aid to find answers and get to the truth.
I found this to be an intriguing and captivating story as they are determined to unravel a web of deceit. I couldn't wait to get to the bottom of the story, as it got to be more and more exciting. A real page turning read filled with some twists and turns.
At least, not from the hard drives she scours to create the online identities she calls the Shadownet.

Hobby? Art form? Sad, pathetic plea to garner friendship, even virtually? Sure, Jan is guilty on all counts. Maybe she’s even addicted to it. It’s an exploration. Everyone has something to hide. The Shadownet’s hard drives are Jan’s secrets. They're stolen from her family’s computer recycling business Assured Destruction. If the police found out, Jan’s family would lose their livelihood.

When the real people behind Shadownet’s hard drives endure vicious cyber attacks, Jan realizes she is responsible. She doesn’t know who is targeting these people or why but as her life collapses Jan must use all her tech savvy to bring the perpetrators to justice before she becomes the next victim.

My Review

Janus is a teenage girl who works at her mother's computer recycling business, called Assured Destruction. She is in charge of deleting the hard drives that come in which gets her involved in fake profiles of people on her secretive network.

This book will be interesting to younger people as it has a lot of social media language since Janus is a computer genius. She is a likeable girl who gets herself involved in this world, and her mother doesn't know anything about it.

This wasn't my usual genre, but I enjoyed the story very much and who knows it could become a series.

The shocking surprise of the story was the culprit who was responsible for her cyber attacks. I found this story to be an interesting read.

After crewing ships in the Antarctic and the Baltic Sea and some fun in venture capital, Michael anchored himself (happily) to a marriage and a boatload of kids. Now he injects his adventurous spirit into his writing with brief respites for research into the jungles of Sumatra and Guatemala, the ruins of Egypt and Tik’al, paddling the Zambezi and diving whatever cave or ocean reef will have him. He is a member of the International Thriller Writers and SF Canada, and the author of the Assured Destruction series, 24 Bones, The Sand Dragon, Hurakan, Ruination and several award winning graphic novels for young adults.
