According to what has been written in Facebook’s service center you can hide the friends list but you cannot hide friends in common.

Yet someone seems to have hidden friends in common. How did he do it and what is the mystery behind this hidden setting? Well in this article I will explain everything.

How to hide friends list on Facebook

First of all, we’ll re-explain how to hide friends list on Facebook. All you have to do is visit some friends (from your timeline click on the friends tab, or click here to go directly ) and click on the pencil icon to the right, choose “Edit privacy.”

A window will open. From there, change the first field, which regulates the visibility of your friends list. To hide all you need to select “Only me.”

In this window, you can also adjust the privacy of the list of people and lists used and the list of followers.

On this blog I pointed out long ago, a Chrome and Firefox extension that allowed you to delete all messages with a click. Unfortunately, that extension has not been updated since the recent changes to Facebook and has stopped working.

Then how are we able to delete all messages? For weeks it seems that the only alternative has been to delete all the conversations one by one, which requires a lot of patience and time.

Today, fortunately, we found a new method that allows you to clean up your messages page by deleting all conversations with one click.

How to delete all messages in one fell swoop

This new method is not an extension, not a software, or a hidden function of Facebook.

It’s a script that you can run from the main browser (see the guide), in one click.

In the last press conference Facebook revealed the new Graph Search, on March 7, 2013, it’s time to unveil the work of the team on the homepage of the social network, in particular the new features include the news feed (stream of news published by friends, pages, and applications).
 

What’s new about the update Facebook news feed

Since 2006, the main news feed on Facebook has always been the same, a news feed, which you can filter by friends lists or order to the main news/latest.

We’ve always read the same tired news flow which leads users to spend less time on Facebook, which is why the engineers decided to create multiple streams of news interesting by making it easier to access on top of home.

• A new section for photos: contains photos from Instagram and Facebook into a single stream, with larger images.
• A new section for music will contain songs played by friends and artists you follow on Facebook. It will probably be very similar to the music page that is already present in Facebook
• Big buttons at the top allow you to easily switch from one section to another (as in the picture).
• The images and links are likely to have more space, is to be published by friends, who are pages or advertising.

 
These new features, could be good for both Facebook and especially for us, its users. We would have greater and easier control over the content we want to see on our homepage which will make find interesting content much simpler.

Applications like Spotify also use Facebook to share the music you are listening to with your friends. When you connect Facebook to your Spotify profile (authorizing the Spotify Facebook application), you (I hope knowingly) sharing everything you hear with your friends on Facebook. If you value your privacy and do not want to let everyone know that you’re listening to music on Spotify follow the instructions to temporarily or permanently disable the automatic sharing of Spotify on Facebook.

How to temporarily disable the sharing of Spotify on Facebook

To temporarily disable sharing Spotify Open the File menu and click on “Private Session” to start a private session. The private session will not stop Spotify from sharing  information to Spotify Social (the style list “pane updates” on Facebook you can find at the bottom right of the program). Until private session is disabled any song you listened to will not be shared on Facebook and no one will know that you are listening to music.

How to permanetly disable the sharing of Spotify

If you want to disable Spotify from always sharing the music you listen to: click on the Edit button -> Preferences. Uncheck the selection “Show what I listen to Facebook” to disable the automatic sharing of the songs to Facebook, also uncheck “Share my activity on Spotify Social” if you do not want your friends to see what you hear from the box at the bottom right of Spotify.

To be completely sure that the application isn’t publishing updates on our profile, you can also visit the Facebook account settings to the Applications tab and disable the permissions of “Publish on your behalf” from the Facebook Spotify application.

With this trick you can save a bookmark on your browser (a bookmark that contains a javascript code) that when clicked selects all the items in your browser window. This makes it is possible to select all your Facebook friends with one click and invite them to an event or suggest them to “like” a page.

On this blog have shared many javascript codes or extensions that allow you to invite all your friends with just one click. Unfortunately, because of the various Facebook updates, often codes and extensions stop working, which is why today we announce a new working code that allows you to select all your friends in one fell swoop.

How to select all friends to invite to an event or suggest a page

The code is this article works on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. You can try on other browsers, but if possible, I recommend you use one of these two browsers.

To use it correctly drag the “drag me” link below  to your bookmarks bar of your browser. Alternatively, you can create a new bookmark and enter the code in the url / web address.

Follow these instructions:

1. Drag the code into the bookmarks bar or create a new bookmark on Chrome or Firefox.
2. Now visit the event page or a page you want to suggest and click “invite friends”.
3. From this window scroll down until the entire list of friends load then use the bookmark to invite / suggest all your friends.
4. Now click on the favorite bookmark created in step 1. All your friends will be selected.

That’s it.

Facebook has more than one billion users, more than 240 billion photos and more than a trillion connections. This information makes it the largest online database of information. Information that was lacking for web search engines and until now not available for organizing, analyzing, and accessible to users.

The Graph Search is a new way to navigate through a trillion connections and finally makes them more useful. This is a beta launch, limited to a few thousand users and we hope accessible to all profiles (but will no doubt be several months).

The new search function will appear as a search bar at the top of each page. They will be able to combine the phrases and search through the content shared on Facebook. Let’s take an example.

You can search for “restaurants my friends like” or “My friends who live in Rome?” To start Facebook will allow you to search through four main areas: people, photos, places and interests (scroll down the article to read more examples ).

It works like Google? No, Google is web search whereas this is a new type of social search. When searching on the web (with a search engine like Google) it provides a series of links more or less equal in relevance to a search query entered by any user. While social search combines phrases (variables) to find results through the content of your friends. The results from from the same search are different for each user.

And what about privacy? The results available to your friends and public vary depending on your privacy settings. The contents found are just the ones you can see. Therefore, if your friend is searching for a restaurant and wishes to only see results generated from a list of friends A and B, excludes list B and you will not find the same information as those on list A. (More information on your privacy and graph search here: https://www.facebook.com/about/graphsearch/privacy )

The first version of the search engine focuses on four main areas: people, photos, places and interests.

• People : for example, can search for “friends who live in my city”, “people from my hometown passionate hiking”, “friends of friends who were in a national park,” the “software engineers who live in San Francisco”,” people who like my own, “or” people who love tennis and live nearby “;
• Photo : for example, can search through “photos that I like,” or “pictures of my family”, “pictures of my friends before 2000″, “my friends photos taken in New York,” or “pictures of the Colosseum” ;
• Places : you can search for “Restaurants in Manhattan”, “city visited by my family,” “Japanese restaurants where my friends go”, “tourist attractions in Spain visited by my friends” and so on;
• Interests : search as “music that appeals to my friends”, “movies liked by my friends who like my own movie,” or “what languages do my friends speak”, “strategy games played by friends of my friends, “or” books read by my friends “etc.. etc..

For those who don’t know these black face emoticons are very special and Tricksfacebook’s original smiles to send in chat (or through messages) on Facebook.

Each emoticon is created by a group of variable codes. Each code matches the ID of a group to load the image in Facebook, and all the codes (i.e. all the pieces of images) sent together make up the great emoticons. All this is possible with Facebook Social Graph.

The list that we present today is black emoticons!

How to send emoticons? It’s easy. Just select the entire group of code (including the brackets) and paste it in a chat conversation. As soon as you press Send (or Enter) you will see the codes become images, and if you have correctly selected the whole group the emoticon will be sent and displayed correctly. Your friends will see the emoticon just like you, no need to install any software, script or any plugins.
