If they don’t understand that it is a natural process for beliefs to evolve, they can feel shame, embarrassment, or that they’ve been dumb to believe what they believed. If they had been really committed to those beliefs and were loud about them because of the depth of their belief, they may even feel like they need to stick with them even if they don’t fit them any longer.

By making it normal for beliefs to change and evolve you create space for people to not get stuck in what no longer serves them. You encourage other’s expansion because they feel freer to explore and move with their own evolution.
