The following week we were blessed to have the JAM Youth Group lead us in worship, with an awe-inspiring service, led by President Ben Bonnell and Vice President John Hopkins. After having spent time at Shenandoah Crossings for their Spring retreat,(thanks to Sonny and Phyllis Warren), they were led to share how Jesus is our seatbelt.Scriptures found to coordinate with measure of security, providential care and assurance led them to intersperse the Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego story with contemporary music singing; a wonderful message from Trisha Shank and a dance presentation coordinated to “God’s Not Dead” by the Newsboys as images of their year together were shared on the screen. They had also recently discovered they were coming up $700 short of their goal to send seven youth and 2 adults to the Tri-Cities Workcamp Mission work this summer. In response to a request made over a $1000 has been contributed in the past two-weeks to more than cover their costs and enable them to be ready to do some things when the Fall 2016 year begins. Many thanks to all who made contributions to their cause!!

VBS plans are under way for this summer’s experience, with Julie Helmer putting together plans to host “Disputanta Depot”, “We are ‘On Track’ with Jesus”. This is a program totally the inspiration of Julie’s so we are really looking forward to the time together this August 7-11 as we share about our own community’s background and learn from the scripture about God’s love and care for us! Registration details will be coming out shortly!
