Perfect Short Breaks – City Breaks & Weekend Breaks

The perfect way to balance a busy life is to give yourself short breaks in a nearby city. Your dear old TripDad is going to show you two of the best short breaks you can go on. Of course, If you’re like me, you’d really prefer taking an entire month or more off at a time – and most certainly a nice 7 or 8 day holiday as well – however, one of the very best ways to get away from the hustle can definitely be with short breaks – and we’re going to show you how to make the best of them right now. Best Cities for Short Breaks According to the Guardian, the 10 best cities in the world are London, New York, Paris, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Rome, Berlin,Istanbul, Edinburgh and Las Vegas. I’m proud to say that I’ve personally been to 7 of these fine cities, all of which deserve much longer than 2 or 3 days visit (although if you do 3 days in Vegas like in the movies, your body will feel like it was a full week). The Guardian’s 10 best are truly glorious cities to visit, but what if you’re looking for short breaks in UK only? Well, we best start with the one that made Guardian’s top 10 world wide list, shall we? London- One of the greatest cities in all of the world – if you’re only going to be here for 2 or 3 days – then you’ll have to narrow down the site-seeing to perhaps half a day. Jump on a nice double decker and you’re off and running. Many people take what they call a “Theatre Break” to London as well because there’s so much incredible theatre there. This is where my wife and I first saw the Lion King and it was simply fabulous. (If you’re not wanting [...]
Perfect Short Breaks – City Breaks & Weekend Breaks is a post from: Trip Dad

Global Travel Scams, Schemes, & Truth

Wow! When I saw how many people were searching for “Global Travel”, I have to admit, I got pretty excited. Then, I realized that most people weren’t actually searching for ways to live out their wanderlust… they were actually searching for a few different things and we’ll cover the top reasons here in this quick guide to Global Travel Scams, Schemes, and Clairty Will the Real “Global Travel” Please Stand Up Alright, let’s get this out of the way right now. If you’re looking to travel around the world or some other form of international travel, then it’s advised that you look at some other articles on TripDad.com, search google for “Around the World Flights”, “International Travel”, Europe Tours” or even better: check out the links to the right. I say this because the term “Global Travel” has been soiled and dragged through the mud by a number of companies and their uncontrollable representatives. Now, before we go on, please understand, we do not go out of our way to bash any company. I will give you my honest opinion as a traveller and also as a very knowledgable marketing expert as well. Here are the four main entities we’re going to quickly discuss in this article: Global Travel International – claims you can become a talent agent through them. It’s a “work at home” network marketing (MLM) opportunity. I’ve personally made hundreds of thousands of dollars working from home. So, you won’t find me bashing the concept … but let’s find out how legitimate this opportunity really is. Global Travel Network – this is a discount travel network that has also been sold as a network marketing opportunity. I’ve belonged to this Network twice. Will tell you about some of the problems I’ve had below. Global Travel Solutions – company [...]
Global Travel Scams, Schemes, & Truth is a post from: Trip Dad

Cancellation Holidays Real Deal or Rubbish?

Are cancellation holidays all they’re cracked up to be? Can you really get rock-bottom deals by buying other people’s holiday cancellations? Your dear old TripDad does the dirty work and uncovers the truth. Be sure to read the entire article – we give you the good, the bad, and the ugly of last minute deals & cancellation holidays. Plus we disclose TripDad’s own “BID” system for helping you to make sure you go on the best possible holiday you can and not get too lost and overwhelmed in your search for the best rates! Googling Cancellation Holidays? Buyer Beware! We did a quick bit of googling for “Cancellation Holidays” today and the second search result to come up was a site called “On the Beach” The page we landed on talked a good bit of rubbish about finding a cancellation holiday and then it lures you into their site hoping you’ll perhaps forget that you were looking for a cancellation holiday to begin with! At least they have a “Deal Finder” page – let’s take a look at that, shall we? We doubt their so-called deals have anything at all to do with cancellations and at best it could be just your typical ‘last minute deals’ (which can be quite good if you must travel at the last minute, however if you have a few weeks or more for your holiday, then you’ll want to consider a legitimate cancellation holiday company instead, which I’ll share with you how to do in a moment). TripDad did a bit of comparing between On the Beach and simply booking direct and most of their so-called deals could be actually be matched or beaten by doing about 10 minutes of extra searching on EasyJet and Booking.com. However, we will admit that there were a number of [...]
Cancellation Holidays Real Deal or Rubbish? is a post from: Trip Dad

Romantic Breaks I Have Loved

TripDad is about to share the secrets of making your Romantic Breaks a true holiday to remember. A few Romantic Breaks I have loved to either get a romance going or to keep it flowing. Your holiday deserves care, thought, and attention (just like your lover). And believe me, to make your break a great one, you’ll need more than just the standard “yes dear” that’s gotten you through thus far… Romantic Breaks ’round the World I’m happy to report that my lovely wife and I have been on a number of romantic breaks all around the world. Our first was a drive up the coast from California to San Francisco for the 4th of July. First off, I highly recommend against an 8 hour car ride in bad traffic as your first attempt to go on a holiday with your lovely lady. We couldn’t afford a luxury hotel at the time so we stayed at something just short of a European hostel (of which there are plenty in San Francisco for low-cost romantic breaks). Depending on the stage in your romance, having a room so small that you could touch all four walls whilst lying in bed can be a boon or a bust. But have no fear, there’s plenty of romantic things to do to make romantic breaks to San Francisco filled with love. Go down to the wharf for some seafood and site seeing, take a cable car around the city, or hop on a boat tour around San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz (America’s most infamous prison). Be sure to dress warm, especially in the summer – the Bay area can get quite chilly and nothing is more romantic than cuddling up with your lover with some hot cocoa or coffee overlooking the bay. California too far? Looking for Romantic Breaks [...]
Romantic Breaks I Have Loved is a post from: Trip Dad

Purple Holidays Yay Or Nay

Purple Holidays – you gotta love them or hate them, that’s the consensus. In this no holds barred report from TripDad, you will learn all about Purple Holidays and their antics. Purple Holidays Review We took a good hard look at Purple Holidays, and it seems they are actually a Greek company, even though they seem to make themselves out as a UK travel company. Maybe that’s because they are using the Hayes Travel Group’s travel number, K5728, so they probably do have some UK affiliation. Now, what is all this flutter about the best prices you can get on a holiday, and Purple Holidays delivers the best price every time? Is it really true? We scoured the Internet, looking for naysayers and folks that wanted everyone to know the bad news about Purple Holidays, and truth be told, it wasn’t all that bad…especially for a discount travel operator who’s been running for a few years. You see, if you are in the discount travel business, you’re going to get some unhappy people…it’s just the nature of the game! Purple Holidays Ski And what’s this about Purple Holidays Ski? Is it true that Purple Holidays is everything it’s cracked up to be? Well, we looked around for customers of Purple Holidays, and found some clear indications of how good things are. Take for example Holiday Watchdog and one comment they have about Purple Holidays: I have booked with them twice now and been very pleased both times. We just came back from our holiday with them in Sharm and now we are going with them to Crete in June. I have 2 children and they were great in finding us a good all inclusive hotel that my children just adored! The lady i spoke to listened to everything i needed and [...]
Purple Holidays Yay Or Nay is a post from: Trip Dad

We stayed in Spain for a month and jaunted over to the glorious island of Mallorca for 5 days of fun with the kids. Mallorca Rocks in the Baleric Islands Mallorca is just of the coast of Spain and is apart of the Baleric Islands. It is one of the hottest European vacation destinations, and for good reason, it has over 200 Beaches! Mallorca rocks! Unlike the neighboring party island of Ibiza, Mallorca is a great family dstination. In fact a lot of the hotels and resorts cater to families by offering playgrounds, club activities and childrens entertainment. We stayed at Viva Cala Mesquida in Playa Mesquida home to the very popular Galactic Super Hero Bufo! Oh yes, they have a mascot of sorts and he entertains the children nightly at the Mini Disco! They also have Bufo Kids Club , a drop off child care service during the day. We had quite the room with a view, most of the apartments are located beachside. It was a very short and easy walk down to the sand. Playa Mesquida, Mallorca rocks the holiday for families every time. No matter how you slice it, Mallorca Rocks! We rented a car from the hotel so we could drive into the beach side town do do some tourist shopping and found another huge playground swarming wiht kids! We also drove to the Capital city of Mallorca, Palma. The city of Palma is very easy to push a stroller around, we literally walked around the entire city. It is the most charming city with cobblestone streets (made with Mallorca rocks), cute cafes and some very historic buildings. The most famous building is La Seu, [...]
Spain & Mallorca Rocks is a post from: Trip Dad
