Introducing Trail & Portal, a groundbreaking platform poised to become the World's Largest Independent Sci-Fi Project! It is where artists and cooperatives can participate in diverse storytelling ventures, spanning short writing projects, films, live broadcasts, publications, products, as well as virtual and augmented reality experiences. This platform serves as a dynamic space for creators to showcase their works while providing collaborative opportunities for monetizing their art.

Geodesic Traveler Cooperative and Leads Creative have partnered to collectivize and cooperatize crowd-sourced content via the Trail & Portal Project.

They are happy to share the news of this inaugural publication, Trail & Portal Zine, Episode 0001, where you can begin your sci-fi journey with this introduction to the Trail & Portal storyverse.

Readers and artists will experience prompts and stems to contribute their vision to the greater story of Trails, Beings, and Portals. Trail & Portal Zine serves as a starting point for gaining an understanding of what these are.

This 50-page book is spiral bound on soft heavy-weight paper that you will enjoy holding, reading, and sharing with your friends. It provides a way to experience this project from the beginning.

Discover the sounds that compose your world. The practice of Deep Listening, developed by composer Pauline Oliveros (1932–2016),
explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening. The practice includes
“Sonic Meditations” (a term coined by Oliveros), body awareness, and listening to the sounds of daily life, nature, one’s own thoughts,
imagination, and dreams. It cultivates a heightened awareness of the sonic environment, both external and internal, and promotes
experimentation, improvisation, collaboration, playfulness and other creative skills vital to personal and community growth.
L. Cooper received her Deep Listening certificate from the Center for Deep Listening at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She studied closely with Pauline Oliveros, IONE (author of listening in dreams) and Heloise Gold (author of Deeply Listening Body). Her workshops have a
particular focus on listening in dreams. All are welcome, no previous experience needed.

Deep Listening ~ Dream Incubation Workshops

What do you hear in your dreams? Dreams contain valuable information about our emotional landscape, connections with ancestors, and answers we are seeking. Deep Listening, developed by composer Pauline Oliveros, helps us explore the difference between involuntary hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening.
In this workshop, guided by Lindsay, a certified Deep Listening facilitator, we relax into dream space using Deep Listening techniques, and create a fertile environment to receive and remember dream information. Upon returning to waking life, we record our dreams, or if sleep did not arrive, our thoughts and insights. Through recording and sharing, we accumulate dream records and a better sense of ourselves. We make requests of our dreams and incubate healing in specific ways.

Our dreaming state affects our waking state. Come rest, heal and dream. Please bring additional comfort items such as pillows and eye masks as desired.

Deep Listening, developed by composer Pauline Oliveros, explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening.
The practice includes bodywork, sonic meditations, interactive performance, listening to the sounds of daily life, nature, one’s own thoughts, imagination and dreams. It cultivates a heightened awareness of the sonic environment, both external and internal, and promotes experimentation, improvisation, collaboration, playfulness and other creative skills vital to personal and community growth.
Workshops will run throughout the day, each will be 30-40 minutes long and range from mindful, relaxing activities, to more improvisatory and playful ones. Drop in any time. Here is the schedule for the day:

Durham Welcomes 'Ichiban Hibachi Supreme Buffet'

This is our first post about food/ restaurants ever. Perhaps it's our love of Reno, NV that cultivated our love of a good buffet. Or perhaps it's the fact that this buffet has CRAWFISH every time! Boiled to perfection. There are 10 rows of food options. There is a sushi bar. There is an Hibachi grill station. There is an ice cream corner. There is a huge party room. Basically, we are in heaven. The decor is amazing; from fake life-size palm trees to a huge fountain water display featuring lit up giant oyster shells, a windmill and two over-sized fish spewing water. Another perk about this place is definitely the people watching. It's a total bargain, all you can eat buffet for lunch is $7 and dinner is $10. We've been really enjoying plating our buffet plates in unique ways and combinations, as you can see in the photos above. We love Durham even more now that we've eaten at this incredible place 3 times in one week. No Joke, you gotta check it out.
