Final Destination -

Well, this trip ended before I realized it. And I have no photo's to share of it at all. My camera battery needed charging and I was too lazy tgo charge it, thinking, my gosh, I am taking the same photo's all the time.But wouldn;t you know it, this trip had tons of great scenes and I didn;t take a single shot. First leg of our trip... - Phoenix, AZ, USA

We made it back east. We had a great time on the way here. The "Big Texan" restaurant was great this is the home of the 72 oz steak. If you eat the meal in 1 hour it's free. You must eat an appetizer, salad, a large loaded baked potato and a roll and of course the steak. We asked the waitress what the record was and believe it or not it's 8 minutes and 52 seconds!!!!! Journal No 13 - Unlucky for some. - Vancouver, Canada

Hello everybody! Hello Doctor Nick! James and I are both writing this today, but so far Anne is dictating/falling asleep behind me. Anne has been bitten twice by the same thing on her arm and she says it looks minging. Day 19 - Severn, United States

This morning I went with Jodi to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods!! Like a kid in the candy store. It's amazing what you miss when you can't have it. Raw milk is legal here and stopped by a natural store to get Joshua some much missed milk. Michael decided to take Mom to a park so she can get her pic taken next to a saguro cactus. DOT Inspection Surprise -

When we went through a routine weight station, we were asked to pull into the parking lot and "see" the DOT (Dept of Transportation) Officer. Gads. Not that we are doing anything wrong, but the feeling of being "inspected" is always so violating to me. I felt the same way when the housing inspector came when we were trying to sell the house. Final Destination - Publix Warehouse -

We hit a lot of hard rain when we hit Miami last night. We had already delivered the load, but needed to get to a rest area as there are few places for trucks down here. We found a rest area by about 10 pm and it was empty, save for 2 other trucks and 2 cars. Day 17 - Severn, United States

It did get a little cold, but woke early to go back up the mountain to where the Natives sell their wares before heading to Sedona, AZ. (my favorite place) Near our camp, they have a running spring where we all filled our bottles. I love this place, we ate and shopped for red dirt t-shirts from the red dirt of Sedona. Day 16 - Severn, United States

Was great being in a hotel with a bed and a shower! They have a cowboy show before the train ride and Joshua got to take his picture with him and he gave him an empty shell from a blank. On the train, they have entertainment, the banjo player is the same one we had 2 years ago. We didn't get the bus tour ride, they have free shuttles that take you around the rim. Day 15 - Severn, United States

We woke to the sound of a swarm of flies or bees, not sure and really don't want to find out! (you know how Michael is with bees ;) Listening to the weather band is neat, they give you temps and forcasts for above and below 6000 feet. We are on our way out of here to head towards Zion N.P. Day 14 - Severn, United States

We diffinitely have a leak in our mattress, our bottoms where on the ground when we woke. Joshua is bright eyed and bushy tailed and talkitive and playing in the creek. I think he's on the mend, thank you for all your prayers! We are going to Esclante S.P. to hike in to see petrified wood. It was about a mile up hill for the first half, but down for the second. We are headed to Capital Reef N.P. On the way we found a Ghost Town called Giles. Nothing really left only ruins of buildings that you can't see unless you know where to look. We stayed in Colton, Alabama last night. This was the same truck stop we stayed in before. Lately, I have been noticing a lot of familiar places along the way. I guess after while we will know most of the common truck routes. I made real potatoes in the oven for Ib and a yam in mine. Oh, was it ever so good. Feeling So Much Better -

The airconditioning problem seems to have been solved. We had to sit a full day at a truck stop, which the temp was 103, but the inside temp was 82. This was comfortable. The combination of the insulated foil window shade screen and recycling the inside air does the trick.We did the usual things, read, internet, play games and had dinner. Then a good night's sleep in the cool air. When we woke up this morning, the outside had cooled down to 69! Wow, that was like a breath of fresh air! W... More...
