The play based on my book Detention is coming to theatres in November 2025 thanks to the extraordinary Monkey Baa Theatre Co. Bookings and info here. On 1 May I hosted an event at Apple Store Sydney alongside Apple specialist, Jono, to explore some of the tools and techniques I use to write my books and to inspire young storytellers. I shared my vision board for Scar Town and did a reading from the book before inviting participants to start their own vision board using iPads provided. I endeavoured to show teachers how to get kids engaged and dreaming up their own narratives using images, video, music and maps. From May to August 2025, an online project, ANZ StorySchool, is being offered to teaching teams in Australia and NZ, aimed at exploring how technology can enhance students’ communication skills.
