Mothers day is around the corner and for the first time I decided that I would photograph my own Mum. The idea was that she would be able to send these photos to her Mum in Melbourne. My Mum is the type of person that believes she has never had a decent photograph taken of her, thanks for the vote of confidence Mum.

I’m sure she just assumed that i would rock up with my camera and take a few snaps and that was it. Well that wasn’t our plan, we gave her the whole experience: The hair and makeup, styling and of course a glass or two of champagne. As it turns out our Mum has been raving about the experience almost as much as the photo’s themselves. I did say almost as much.

As I write this the photos have now been printed (not from Harvey Norman, there is a difference!), framed and are on their way to my Grandmother for Mothers day.

The Photo

This was the club room (setup from breakfast) of the Duxton hotel. If you stay in one of the upper suites you get access to this 24 hours a day. It has tea/coffee all the time, then they serve pre dinner drinks and canapes etc… and finally breakfast. This particular room looks over the Swan River so it’s a very nice setting, to sit back and watch the sun set.

I went in around 1pm with my tripod to quickly snap this while I was grabbing a hot chocolate

All in all we had an amazing time. Came back refreshed and ready to get stuck into all these photo shoots.

There are some exciting thing brewing at the moment, that will all be revealed within the next few weeks. The little teaser I can give you is that it will feature this soft kind of natural light, and it is a completely new product/package for us which we are excited about.

A new Facebook Group

Shoots, Shoots, Shoots

This weekend we are packed with photoshoots that we can share with you. A lot of our recent work we haven’t really been able to share so this weekend we are looking forward to sharing some awesome photos with you. Plus I’m testing out a new light modifier for the LumoPro LP160′s.

Perth leg of the Google+ Nationwide Mobile Photowalk

We have a healthy amount of registers however we are still falling behind Sydney and Melbourne. Come on Perth it will be a fun filled morning with a few giveaways i’m told. Come and join in the fun.

This months get together was a photo challenge. The above was one of the shots that I took. This shot has reminded me nice, and much fun shooting in natural light can be. So we’ll be seeing how we can incorporate a little natural light over the next year.

Live web show

This morning was my first live web show which ran for just over an hour. We had some great people drop in and have a chat. It was such a success I have scheduled it again for the same time next week.

Australia Wide Camera Phone Photo Walk

You read right. Mona and I are the Perth team leaders of this great event which will be televised on Channel 7′ Sunrise program. The only hitch is it starts at 5:00am but we’ll get some nice sunrise photos. If your in Australia head over to the signup page. There will be Google+ giveaways on the day, so it should be a lot of fun.

Painted

This is a fun set we did late last year, our makeup artist came to us with this concept and we thought it would be a blast to work on and wrap up the year. Astrid, the model, did a great job while being covered in paint. Surprisingly enough it was as relatively clean shoot considering.

A new print for sale

I remember when we only had a couple up. It seems that over the past few weeks we have been able to add some great variety to our catalog. This print is not to everyone’s taste but for a select few that want something a little different this will be right up your ally.
