So, we know you’ve probably heard, but the T & J Design anniversary sale is ON!

Last week team tristinstyling was thrilled to assist as a VIP guest to the new Blue Mercury store opening in the always trendy Chicago neighborhood; River North. It was a fun night filled with champagne, delicious appetizers  and beauty. A lot of beauty products!

An entire room full of gelato and sweet treats: If you have a sweet tooth, then this room will be pretty much like heaven to you! It’s filled with gelato, cupcakes, regular & boozy donuts, gummies, candy and mini desserts like cheesecake and key lime pie among many others!

Isn’t that sweet? We had a blast that day and we want to thank Steak Bar for inviting us to try out their Almost Famous brunch that will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm until September 24th.

Hello everyone! Happy Friday!

Is it Spring time already? It doesn’t feel like that in Chicago just yet, but we are patiently waiting for Spring to arrive!

Today, we are styling this beautiful cape from T & J Designs in four different ways. These outfits are good for Spring, Fall and even for some mild Winter days. Ok, so here we go!

First look:

This is the warmest look out of all four. Perfect for a Winter day, or if you’re in Chicago it could be a Spring or Fall day hahaha. We added a puffer jacket underneath the cape and a black button down shirt and accessorized with a hat, sunnies, the Hermes ‘Constance’ belt, Hermes ‘CDC’ bracelet and Prada wedged sneakers.

Second look:

For this look we just kept the black button down shirt and Hermes accessories, but added a fur collar and black wedged boots from FRYE.

Third look:

We did some serious layering for the third look. It’s a super warm cozy outfit that we created with a sweater dress and a cardi and paired it up with black OTK boots.

Fourth look:

Last but not least, for the fourth look we added a short sleeve sweatshirt from J Crew and accessorized with a black hat and sunnies.

Hello! Happy Monday!

For this week we wanted to share 3 different ways you can style a color block dress for Winter. The dress we are working with is a Navy Color Block Dress from Hutch Design. We just love it so much that we couldn’t resist to share our ideas on how to wear it. Take a look and let us know your thoughts!

Look # 1:

For the first look we styled it with a hat from Gigi Bottega, black tights, FRYE ‘Jenna’ studded leather boots, Hermes ‘Constance’ belt and a Rebecca Minkoff ‘Brutus’ leather jacket in red.

Look # 2:

For the second look we went with Vince wedged boots instead of flat studded ones. Accessorized again with the Hermes ‘Constance’ belt, Hermes ‘CDC’ bracelet, and wore a black button down shirt underneath the dress.

Look # 3:

For the third look we went for a much casual and warmer style. Wearing the same tights and belt, but made it a little bit cozier with a Rhubarbe Moncler coat, a pom pom beanie from Kiz Chicago and studded Jimmy Choo Ugg boots.

A few weeks ago we visited a very unique wellness center called IVme. You may have heard of this place, but if you haven’t, we are here to tell you all about it!

IVme is a wellness center whose mission is to improve how people feel by alleviating in less than an hour the accumulative effects of dehydration and restore people’s vitality and wellness. The therapies provided at IVme are time-tested and proven in the hospital and emergency room, now made easily accessible and more affordable by fully accredited, licensed, and experienced registered nurses and board-certified physicians.

Their Old Town location is amazing. It’s so serene and relaxing and we got to receive our treatment while chilling in comfortable lounge chairs while watching a movie and talking to each other. It was seriously a great experience. Just take a look at this place:

They use what they call a hydration therapy which utilizes a common, minimally-invasive procedure to intravenously deliver fluids, medications, vitamins, and other nutritional supplements directly into the bloodstream to hydrate our bodies in a fast and effective way.

We received the Wellness and Vitality package which is known to help promote well-being via hydration and high dose vitamins and includes a Super B Shot and oxygen therapy. Gives you the boost you need to get through a long work week or revitalize yourself from the stresses of everyday life. The results were immediate and amazing! We left IVme feeling great and we even go back on a monthly basis to get our B12 shots!

For this season’s Fashion Week, team tristinstyling had the amazing opportunity to see the Rebecca Minkoff Runway to Retail Fashion Show. This event was held at The Grove in Los Angeles on Saturday February 4th and we are still drooling over the incredible pieces of RM’s Spring 2017 collection that Rebecca herself refers to as ‘see-buy-wear’.

It was the perfect afternoon for a runway show. What we love most about this concept is that it’s a runway show with the consumer in mind. This is the third time Rebecca Minkoff has presented her collection this way and we can only hope she continues to do so. Minkoff said before the show that the collection was inspired by her California roots — she’s a San Diego native. “It’s just easy, effortless kind of beauty. A lot of color, a lot of different floral prints. A lot of ruffles,” she said.

The collection was brought to life by models, actresses and digital influencers, including Aimee Song and Chriselle Lim and it was made to spark immediate shopping. The majority of the pieces were available for purchase that day (in-store and online) which is an added bonus. Also, you don’t have to break the bank to put your hands on her incredible designs. All pieces from the collection come at an accessible price point.

She opened the show with Aimee Song in a feminine and floaty printed viscose dresses, shoulder-baring and bohemian-inspired edgy pieces. She also offered her version of the white cotton and lace frocks, cute denim overalls and wide-leg jeans; graphic sweatshirts and Ts, and some leather and suede jackets for layering. Everything very true to her style and essence; a collection made for the edgy-rocker-chic girl that also wants to look feminine.

For all the #RMchi fashionistas, the store on Oak street held a preview shopping party in-store hosted by Bitches Who Brunch. The event was super cute with Chandon sippers, an Essie manicure station, photo booth, and discount for all who shopped during the event.

For the day of the show, Christine, founder of tristinstyling, was wearing a chambray long sleeved romper, studded leather booties and accessorized it with a tan camera bag & a tassel chain. All of these pieces Rebecca Minkoff of course!

We seriously had a blast. Blogger babe Dana from 23 Danilla Skies (Or @23danilla on IG) was there to live this amazing experience with us. Besides getting to see first hand Rebecca Minkoff’s new Spring collection, we got to spend the day at The Grove enjoying all the activities they had planned for us, as well for the general public. The activities included yoga classes, photo booths, mani stations with Essie, wine tasting, Lauren Conrad’s ‘The Little Market’ pop up shop, etc. It was a whole day perfectly planned by the Rebecca Minkoff team.

The show closed with a beautiful a cappella group that sang down the runway right in front of the models and it was the perfect way to say goodbye to the show and welcome the new collection.

We don’t know if you’ve heard, but the Rebecca Minkoff Boutique is now open on 106 E Oak Street. On November 18th blogger babe Farh from Farh from Ordinary hosted a fun event inside the store with cocktails, sweet treats and a DJ. We had a blast and got to preview the full Rebecca Minkoff Ready to Wear Collection, as well as footwear, handbags and tech accessories.

Here are some pics of the good looking store. We are obsessed with the all the “Ready to Wear” pieces! Just take a look at these:

Many of the pieces they have in-store are exclusive to the Rebecca Minkoff boutique and can’t be found in department stores, so it’s definitely worth a visit! Shoes and handbags didn’t disappoint either.

Wooden Wristwatch

Last week team tristinstyling attended a Holiday lunch hosted by Zap Water and blogger babe Heidi from Wishes Reality. Lunch was held in a private room, part of the new renovated space of Sullivan’s in the Historic District of Downtown Naperville. The new space features a lot of wood and modern details that gives the space a balance between naughty and nice.

The restaurant offers delectable food, fun cocktails and swinging live music, providing their guests a fun and different dining experience. We had a blast. We were a group of around ten girls and here are some pics of what we got to try that day.

First we started with a cold seafood sampler. This dish has Cracked Stone Crab Claws, Cocktail Shrimp, Alaskan King Crab and Oysters on the Half Shell. Just see for yourself how good it looks:

After delighting ourselves to this, we tried the Hot Seafood Sampler. It contains Warm Garlic Butter Shrimp, Steamed Alaskan King Crab, Grilled Cold Water Lobster Tail and Oysters Rockefeller.

Then we went for something lighter; Chef’s Cein Cid version of a Beet Salad. He created this dish especially for Sullivan’s and it did not disappoint. The salad is served with a Shallot Dijon Vinaigrette that tasted just like heaven!

As we haven’t had enough food at this point, we still needed to try some of house specialties: Lamb in a Cherry Au Jus accompanied with Roasted Vegetables and Seared Duck Breast in Orange Butter Sauce:

And last but not least, dessert. This was by far our favorite because we do love our sweets! Dessert was an incredible Creme Brule with Crushed Peppermint. We were so full at this point, but we couldn’t resist! It was seriously AMAZING!
