]]>This is the first-ever film made in ‘Byari’ language, spoken mainly by people in the coastal regions of north Kerala and Dakshina Kannada district. This film focuses on a society trapped in their own faiths and beliefs. It also highlights strict laws and regulations of marriage in the community, pros and cons of divorce in Islam and how it affects the women.
Actress Mallika got a special mention from the National Jury for her performance in the film.Popular Malayalam actor Mamukkoya appears in a “very serious negative role” in the film as her father.
This screening is followed by the opening forum by the Director, Suveeran. The event is sponsored by Prathi Dhawni and will be screened at Park Center, on 26th of April, at 5:30 p.m.

The exam season is just a couple of week ahead and it’s really high time for the young dreamers. There is good news for these tensed intelligent creatures striving hard to live their dreams. Kerala Government’s Information Technology initiative AKSHAYA has joined hands with Oztern Technology (Technopark based company) to offer online entrance crash course specially designed and conducted by renowned former physics teacher P C Thomas. This initiative will prove very helpful for all those students aspiring to get into medical/engineering fields. This course will be marketed by the AKSHAYA through its 2200 citizen centres across the state through the tie-up.
This online crash course provides 25 model examinations for subject that covers the entire syllabus and 50 chapter wise model examinations each of which can be attempted 25 times. This crash course will be of 45 days duration and is priced at 1500 INR. Students can purchase a subscription for this crash course from the website or from the nearest AKSHAYA centre to practice for the entrance exam from their home. Students will be also provided with detailed report at the end of each examination on their performance, highlighting the student’s strengths and the areas that need attention. This will help the students to identify the time consuming sections and will help them to counter it by enhancing their skills. And here comes good news to be proud about Kerala. God’s Own Country has been rated the best the best tourist destination in India according to a survey conducted by the Neilsen Company on the behalf of the Outlook magazine. This survey has definitely come as a big endorsement for the Brand Kerala. According to the survey, Kerala is also the second best state for winter destination after Goa. In the category of beach destinations, Kerala occupies the fourth place. The highlight of this survey is about Kochi – coastal city of Kerala. Kochi has emerged as the sixth best city for tourists after Jaipur, Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. This rating has come with the increasing number of international tourists in Kerala, which grew from 6.5 lakhs in the year 2010 to 7.3 lakhs in the year 2012. The number of domestic tourists grew from 85 lakhs to 93 lakhs. The total foreign exchange earnings grew by 11.81 percent to touch Rs 4221 crore and the total earning grew to 9.40 percent to reach Rs 19037 crore.

The eighth edition of the Technopark Premier League (TPL) has been kicked off on Technopark campus today. TPL is an inter-company cricket tournament organized every year by the Technopark and in this edition as many as 108 companies are taking part. The matches will be usually played on Saturdays, Sundays and other public holidays without compromising the working hours. This tournament will at least last for a time period of three long months. The first round of the TPL will be played in the league format followed by the knockout round. The qualifying matches will be of 10 overs and the quarterfinals will be 15 overs match. This is indeed a really good initiative taken by the Technopark to help the techies to unwind from their normal monotonous routine of hectic work and add spice to their work life.

The State School IT Festival 2012 would be held at the Technopark on February 1st and 2nd . as many as 500 students including the first and second position winners in district level technical festival are participating in this event. The competitions would be held separately for high school, higher secondary or vocational higher secondary sections. Competitions would be held in digital painting, IT Projects, multimedia presentation, IT quiz, Malayalam computing and web page design in four venues and that too in open source platform. It is for the fifth consecutive time that Technopark is playing host to the school IT Fest.
Apart from these competitions, IT Mela would see sessions on various IT topics of interest to the students so that students can interact with the IT professional in Technopark and learn from the functioning of various companies in Technopark. For the first time the International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) Lab will also host some competitions to attract many students.
