"For the first time, we can't look at our songs and say who the riffs sound like," guitarist/vocalist Matt Heafy told Revolver magazine about the group's new material. "We're really making our own stuff and our own kind of music and art form, and that's exciting."

TRIVIUM reportedly wrote around 40 songs last year and demoed the best 15 or so before commencing the new LP recording sessions. "When we went in, we thought, 'Hey, these songs are good enogh for the album already,' but we've overhauled almost everything," Heafy told Revolver. "Nick has encouraged us to explore so many new ideas that we never would have thought of."

In a previous interview with Revolver, TRIVIUM guitarist Corey Beaulieu stated about the upcoming CD, "We want to capture the best ingredients of everything we've done. Each song has a little bit of everything, going between something heavy and then melodic, and then back to something heavy. So it has a really interesting balance. On 'The Crusade', Matt did almost all singing, so this time we're bringing back some of the screaming that's on [2005's] 'Ascendancy'."

As previously reported, TRIVIUM will join metal legends IRON MAIDEN as "special guest" for one show on Saturday, June 14 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey.

Commented Heafy: "TRIVIUM is honored to again be asked to play a show with IRON MAIDEN. We supported them for a full European tour in 2006 and it was one of the best touring experiences we've ever had as a band. MAIDEN are absolute legends and we hoped one day we would have another chance to share a stage with them. When they called us for this special show we couldn't say yes fast enough. TRIVIUM are pleased to announce that they will join metal legends IRON MAIDEN as "Special Guest" for one show on Saturday, June 14 at New Jersey's PNC Bank Arts Center on the SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR.

Following the worldwide success of The Crusade album (which charted at 7 in the UK and 25 in Billboard) TRIVIUM have been tucked away in the studio in Tennessee since January with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Death Angel) working on the follow up recording for ROADRUNNER RECORDS.

Greetings!

We thought we'd check-in and give a little update before we head off to the studio in Tennessee to record our 3rd Roadrunner records release.

First and foremost we want to thank our friends on TRIVIUMWORLD, TRIVIUM.ORG, TRIVIUM MYSPACE and TRIVIUM YOUTUBE The support you give is amazing and the direction in which Trivium's online community is headed is exciting, we're happy you enjoy being a part of it. We all have ideas on how to make things better for everyone and look forward to implementing them over time.

We want to thank our technology partners at Ultra Star Entertainment and Dark Angel Management (D.A.M.) - our management teams media division Digital Universe. Many have emailed or commented on how much improvement you see across the official Trivium web spaces. We agree things are getting better.

A special thanks to Laurent at Digital Universe (a/k/a "Krakaos") for helping us deliver quality content to our fans and friends via our official web sites. We take a lot of pride in our official internet sites and we know Laurent will keep the bar raised and help us with quality control. It is also important for us to thank the many great people who work with us online everyday as forum administrators/moderators, graphic artists, video experts, developers, friends, fans and bloggers across ALL official Trivium sites and Trivium fan sites from around the world.

We have great team - we know it and we thank you for all you do to support what we do!

We'll have Ramon Boutsiveth (Director of our "Becoming The Dragon" video) in the studio and plan on providing our Triviumworld members to exclusive content and reports from the studio. Ramon will be with us capturing the recording process for dvd, video, pictures and other content for our official sites.

We've spent the last 2 months working hard rehearsing and revising all the new material live and demo(ing) them for Nick. We want to get as much organized as possible so we can make the most of the time we have with Nick in the studio. We're really looking forward to going at it.

So far - So good!

We'll talk to you soon - keep checking the official Trivium sites for the latest news and information, we'll have some good things to announce in the coming weeks and months.
