More About Masterminds:

Masterminds were formally introduced in “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. The Mastermind Principle is described as “the coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.” Many great fortunes were earned by harnessing the power of mastermind groups.

What You Can Expect:

You can expect a synergy of energy, commitment, and excitement that participants bring to a Mastermind Group. The beauty of these intimate groups is the participants raise the bar by challenging each other to create and implement goals, brainstorm ideas, and support each other with total honesty, respect and compassion. Mastermind participants act as catalysts for growth, devil’s advocates and supportive colleagues.

The Benefits of Being Involved:

Think of our new mastermind as an advisory board for your business. Each member is committed to expanding their business and helping other members of their group to do the same. Participants help each other develop more profitable strategies, make sound business decisions, and support each other.

The Process:

In each mastermind session, each member will get time to describe one key issue they’d like input and advice on from the group. Then they’ll write down the ideas that come forth from their peers. At the end of the session, each member will state at least one action plan they’ll take as a result of the assistance they received. They’ll work on that issue between sessions and be accountable to the whole group at the next session. Because the information shared is often of a sensitive nature, every member must agree to keep our sessions confidential.

Claim your space now!

Full Price for the first month of 6 months ($97.00) Count me in!

I loved this post by Aimee Yawnick about accepting ourselves in our perfect imperfection.

Enjoy!

You Are Already Perfect

As I build and strengthen my relationship with my self and my business, I grow ever closer to what my coach refers to as “profound clarity”. With each new learning about myself, I get a new understanding about what I am meant to help my clients with on their journey.

While I was reading an article on vacation last week, I was struck so profoundly by a distinction that clarified my purpose even further. Although I do believe in the importance of developing one’s self, I believe it is far more important to first, ACCEPT one’s self. What became so clear to me is that my purpose is to help women first come to accept themselves as they are, for better or worse.

One of the governing principles of coaching is that we are all naturally, creative, resourceful and whole. There is no fixing necessary. When a client comes to me it is not because there is something broken or wrong with her. My job is to be the mirror that reflects my client’s brilliance back to her.

As she comes to see, love and accept all that she has already within her, she can then grow, build, strengthen and develop upon that. If we neglect to identify and focus on what is already great about her, we might get caught up in what is “wrong” and miss out on the opportunity to capitalize on her magnificence!

It is when we learn to accept ourselves for all that we are (warts and all) that we are able to move forward and allow our lives to improve, develop and grow. You must accept yourself first, allow your true voice to express your authenticity, and all the rest will follow. It’s like searching for the keys to the Universe just to realize that the gate to get in was never locked!

Your Assignment:

1. Grab a pen and paper and write down your top three strengths.
2. Capture the FEELING of embracing those strengths. OWN them!
3. Write down the three areas that you may call weaknesses or faults.
4. Let’s agree now to reframe your list from #3 as “areas of opportunity”.
5. Play the “What would it be like?” game. Ask and answer these questions on paper:
* What would it be like to embrace these areas of opportunity with the same FEELINGS that you embrace your strengths?
* What would it feel like to not make excuses for these parts of your SELF?
* What would it be like to feel the same sense of power and pride?
* How would it FEEL to fully accept this part of who you are?
6. Now pick one of those areas of opportunities and wear it all day. Like a new sweater. You can always take it off if it gets too uncomfortable. This is another chance for you to grow.

I bet if you committed to spending just one day “pretending” to accept this part of yourself, your next big step would be letting go of this “weakness” all together and you will experience a brand new freedom in your life. What would THAT be like?

If you are not getting the results you want from your business and you know the BIG obstacle STILL getting in your way is YOU, I recommend learning a proven system that will get you out of your own way, gain crystal clarity, and new perspectives so you can attract ideal clients, make more money and generate the results you need to create the profitable business and exquisite life of your dreams.

When I first read “The 5 Keys To The Great Life” I was blown away by its revolutionary approach to understanding the events taking place in our world right now and the simple, yet powerful, way we can adapt to these confusing, and seemingly chaotic changes impacting our daily lives.

“The 5 Keys” is a brand-new book by Dr. Jerry White and Dr. Tomi Bryan – a brother and sister team with a combined background in Education, Systems Thinking, Law, and Organizational Management. That may seem an odd combination of influences to draw ob but it’s what makes this book – and the system they reveal – very different from all the rest.

What Jerry and Tomi have found is that most self-improvement “systems” out there share the same basic flaw: They totally ignore SYSTEMS!

In my opinion, nothing occurs because of only one thing. Behind every internal process, behavior, and action, there is a system at work. When you ignore these systems, you eliminate any real hope of permanently affecting either the world around you, or your own responses to it.

When you UNDERSTAND these underlying systems, you suddenly have the power to alter your responses … which in turn can change EVERYTHING about your life, and lead to achieving the dreams you may have been putting on the back-burner.

The 5 Keys To The Great Life is for anyone who has ever asked themselves: “Is this REALLY all there is to my life – is THIS as great as it gets?”

Don’t miss out on your chance to grab the book at a terrific introductory price … along with loads of great gifts set aside for you.

For about a week I have been processing one of the most soulful and moving experiences I’ve had in a long while. My husband and I had the rare pleasure to see Jay Buchanan perform at the City Opera House in Traverse City.

I heard about Jay and read that he was as an entertainer who could take your breath away with his range of vocal stylings. He is often described as the artist who could be the prodigal son of Jimmy Page and Janice Joplin. I was intrigued and began to do some quick reconnaissance. A Google search for Jay Buchanan brought me to his MySpace page. I listened to the streaming music, watched a couple of videos and was sold. I quickly snatched our concert tickets online and scored front row seating. YES!

The night of the show we headed into Traverse City to slink through the Winter Festival and found a crowd of happy people dancing and enjoying the laser show, beer tent and tremendous ice sculptures. Traverse City continues to show up as a happening place to hang out.

The concert was at the City Opera House and right in the middle of all of the action. The auditorium has been lovingly renovated and holds its majestic space with acoustic perfection. The room was elegant and dimly lit with tea candles fluttering on white cloth-covered tables dotted around the main floor. The lovely Jetty Rae performed as the opening act and would prove to be a perfect musical appetizer to what would be the best performance I have ever witnessed in this lifetime. Jetty’s vocal range and hippie chick style commanded the audience’s attention. What a pleasant surprise! Both entertainers were occasionally accompanied by a young woman with a bright smile and magic fingers playing an improvised cello style to complement the performances. I wish I could remember her name (I think it was Sarah) because she was excellent.

Jay Buchanan took the stage and I immediately knew I liked him. Clad with a comfy blazer, blue jeans and spiffy silver boots, he engaged the audience with kindness and stories about his musical life.

Then he began to sing …

We knew we were witnessing something extraordinary as soon as the first lyrics rolled out of his mouth. This man was fully present and generously shared with us his highest level of performance without holding back. I’m talking about everything he had to give. Song after song, playful stories and honesty - it was as if we were the only thing that mattered. Jay gave us a window into his beautiful heart with songs like Zebra, Feel Better, Post Coital Kiss and This.

Jay Buchanan is living life on his terms by following his passion and authentically showing up for his solo performances.

He began the evening telling us about his past experience belonging to a band that was getting really popular with a big following and lots of tour dates. He said he found himself in a place where it wasn’t speaking to him and his heart wasn’t in the band any longer. Almost three years ago he left the band to follow his passion to write music and perform in a new direction. Jay followed his calling, took a risk in leaving something comfortable and familiar, and moved on. I am so grateful he did. It is clear that Jay’s mind, body and soul are in alignment with his new music.

Give a listen at MySpace and see why Jay Buchanan is a lion-hearted force to be reckoned with.

Enjoy!

Jay Buchanan Feel Better

A Guide to Luscious Living by Shann Vander Leek

Overview: An inspiring collection of articles, poetry and life balance tips to help you get your groove back. Last Sunday I sat down and read this inspiring little ebook in one hit. I have a backlog of books to review and quickly get tired of watching text slide across my laptop screen but Getting Your Groove Back grabbed my attention and held it from start to finish. There’s no fluff here, this is a concise guide born of a sassy blend of experience and conviction that carries you through a journey in four parts: gratitude, self care, life balance and transitions.

It’s apparent from the start that Shann is a lady who walks her talk. She doesn’t write what she doesn’t do. This makes Getting Your Groove Back very compelling because you know you’re reading the words of someone who’s crafted her own life changes and is more than capable of helping you do the same. Here you will find both pithy advice and prompts to put pen to paper and clarify your thoughts, it’s punchy, personal, and passionate and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you’re looking to move your life in a new direction I recommend you read Getting Your Groove Back today.

I just finished a conversation with a woman who was intrigued by the idea of coaching and wanted to know the most compelling reasons why people hire professional coaches. This excellent question is worthy of a snappy answer for one and all.

Here is the quick and dirty:

People hire a Professional Coach based on 5 Reasons

They have a plan, goal or dream

They are unhappy with their current situation

They are having difficulty accomplishing their goal, plan or dream

They find a coach who understands their situation & what they are going through

They feel that the coach can help them overcome their challenges and accomplish their goals.

If you want to know more about how these specific coaching needs are complemented by the benefits of coaching, check out this survey from the International Coaching Federation or you can dig even deeper and look at a fairly new study about the coaching industry compiled by the American Management Association.

Picture yourself walking down the street in a busy urban area of New York, London or Los Angeles. Moving along you are mesmerized by magnificent architecture, the innocence of a child’s laughter, the fancified shop windows, the smells and sounds of the city. You are completely lost in thought when by the grace of a complete stranger, you are saved from being run over by a rogue vehicle blowing through a red light. Your heart is racing and you are wicked stunned. You thank the super hero on the street by offering him your first born and stumble off grateful to be alive. Your wake up call has been delivered.

What will do with this message?

It’s time to get out of your own way and begin taking action in the areas of your life you deem most important. There is no more time for ego-teasing lip service or negative self-talk. If you need help getting focused, schedule a no cost coaching session with me or another coach out in the world and move one step forward on the path of your desires.

One of my coaching clients is a brilliant creative visionary. Her vision of idealistic greatness paralyzed her for years from taking action on the small things which bit by bit, drop by drop, add up to the full life she is desperately seeking. Couple this paralysis with brutal self-talk and we have a smidge of a vision versus reality challenge.

Like the fantastical dreamer meandering through the city, this bright woman was preoccupied with rich textured dreams and magical notions. She almost missed the harbinger of a tragic nightmare threatening to suck the life from her extraordinary vision. We are working together to travel back to the beginning of her story with the commitment of making plans and celebrating incremental actionable steps over a clear and specific time line.

Big Ideas —> Plans Phases —> Action Steps = Critical Path Time Line

Creative people overflowing with ideas and wacky scenarios love to play. Dabbling here and experimenting there can be big fun and certainly not as scary as stepping into your power to create your life’s dream. I enjoy experimentation as much as any creative, but have learned that too many trials lure me away from the laser focus I am finally learning how to surrender to and flow with.

As a personal coach I share my time inspiring creative entrepreneurs to accelerate their journey toward a full and balanced life on their terms. In my opinion, the best way to foster liberation is to live it, breath it and study it. I am ecstatic to shine a focused stream of dazzling golden sunshine with the purpose of illuminating each bold and interesting plan of the people I play with.

Getting Out of your own way looks like this:

Learning how to be happy with incremental victories that lead to your BIG VISION

Being grateful for your experience and talents - There is nobody in the Universe quite like you.

Reminding yourself daily of all you have accomplished

Setting realistic daily, weekly and quarterly goals

Kicking your own ass, hiring a coach or tapping into a mentor to accomplish short-term plans

Creating an environment of daily creative productivity

Communicating with like-minded people who are happy to be a part of your support system

Open your eyes and look around. You can get out of your own way and honor your creative vision.

It is never too late to begin again.

“Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires courage.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson
