True Blood Season Six Spoilers Part 4

Are they using silver infused smoke bombs to disorient the vamps? Burrell is in on the raids, he is the consumate politician always on camera. That one sign, gooey vamps are good vamps, lulz. Then not so funny things: lynching by silver chain, setting some aflame, dragging behind pick-ups, looks like Tara gets shot at Fangtasia and the call to gun up.

Then we see the newbs (described in castings as Occupy Wall St types) with Nicole Wright (formerly Jansen) saving Nora or some vamp and carrying them to their car, though the scenes are out of order (as they do to fool us). They captured the Viking and have a black hood over his head. The NRA will adore Burrell and his stock up on wooden bullets and buy a gun spiel, "wickedly sharp, decidedly deadly". Someone in swat gear and a knit cap like Jason was wearing but taller than him (imo) going up the stairs to (I think ) Bill's home and firing into the door, is this Terry's other buddy Justin? Sort of looks like who I thought was going to be Warlow, hmmm. Then a quick shot of Jason in the basement of the Authority HQ to really confuse the flow.

The LAVTF close in on poor scared Jessica, quick shots of a Tara who's in bad shape trying to get up from the bar, Jason holding a gun on Nora.

Steve gets his same close up with his mouth taped and hood removed, Eric looking dazed maybe he never felt so helpless in a thousand years. Another shot of Jessica on the ground looking pained. Then we see Pam outside, it might be right after they get out of the basement of the AHQ, she turns and looks at an explosion, but is it the AHQ exploding because of nudie Bill in his wire pulling scene or one of the bottling plants just cut in the scene, I can't tell.
The narration is by Governor Burrell- I swore an oath to serve and protect the people of this state. People, not vampires. When humans can no longer walk on their streets at night without fearing for their lives, then we have to take our streets back. As of this moment, we are closing down all vampire run businesses. That is why I say to any of you buy a gun, stock up on wooden bullets. This is still America, you have the right to defend yourselves and the people you love. Then NO ONE LIVES FOREVER ends the promo.

Kristin Bauer interviewed about Season 5 but ETonline slipped in some S6 questions, on her relationship with Tara after "The Kiss" in the new season.
We both wanted the kiss to have the possibility of so many things. In season six, we do get another piece of the puzzle, and we're very excited to share that with fans.ETonline: What can you tease about where their relationship goes in season six?
Bauer van Straten: In typical True Blood fashion, just when you think the sh*t has hit the fan as much as it could, some more sh*t hits the fan. The characters are developing their relationships under fire, and that's great fun for us actor and it keeps the pace up on all the situations. Everything from last year continues but there is some added heat this year.ETonline: What else are you excited for fans to see in the new season?
Bauer van Straten: Everything! As [the premiere approaches], I get really excited and nervous and then I replay what we've filmed in my head -- there's so much adrenaline involved in it for me because those scenes are my babies. So, I can only judge the scenes I'm not in because I lose all perspective [laughs]. I get very excited to share the season with other people, but even more so, I get excited to watch the show and see how the whole thing was put together. It was a lot of night shoots, so it starts off with a bang, and I'm very excited to see it myself.

ETonline: You spent a large chunk of season five working with new actors, was it odd not to share all your scenes with Alexander Skarsgard, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer?
Bauer van Straten: Very! I loved working with new people, but I did miss my usual crowd -- especially Alex. I would visit The Authority set when I was done filming my day just to hang with my peeps. I had so much fun with Alex and Stephen and Anna. I mean, that's who I started the show with. The first episode I ever did was us four, that's what feels like home to me. So I really missed them, but I loved getting to know Rutina [Wesley, who plays Tara]. MORE
New promo, some scenes we've seen before but a bit more framage, now I can see it isn't Tara being dragged by rednecks. My town had a black out at 3:15 today just as I started a new post, dang, I was in the middle of a few chores that required electricity. I called friends in NYC, after I pulled the old landline phone out of the closet because I was fearing the grid went down again but they all had power. What a relief and then it was nap time till it came back a bit ago.

The East in New York City

This looks like another smart movie from Marling and Batmanglij. Brit martling told the story of how she met Zal at Georgetown University, he was an upper classman already making films that she knew she wanted to be part of. She took a photography class so had access to equipment, which was the premise she used to work with him and his friends back then. Alex talked about reading about them and their work and he knew these were people he could trust to make a good film. They spoke of a naked swimming scene the first week of filming which brought down any barriers between the actors and crew. Zal said how the actors wore modesty socks and the women wore pasties, all but Skarsgard. Alexander has said in numerous interviews he isn't shy and Scandinavian aren't offended by nudity. They showed some clips, one I had seen and one looked like there were some new scenes added, a very exciting thriller.
Zal made Alex tell that old story of how he didn't want to act as a child and took a break for school and military. He added that his father said well I'm an actor and I love acting but never pressured Alex to continue if he didn't want to. Brit talked about her background and going to Cuba to film a doc which was interesting to me. Zal brought up how Alex entertained them all by doing the Telenovella voice of the guy who does the promos for the next soaps in a Spanish accent, "coming up next on The East, it will make sense when you watch. They should have the whole panel up soon, maybe today on itunes. It's accessible through the Apple Soho Store page under the Meet the Filmakers series.

"She is this spy and she goes in this group made up of anarchists, and she is moved by the leader, who is played by Alexander, so we have some steamy love scenes," revealed Marling.
As for kissing Skarsgård, Marling added she had no complaints. "If we want to do a sequel that's just kissing Alexander, I would be totally fine by that!" she said with a laugh, adding that the film is not only an espionage flick but "an intense love story" that allowed her to explore her emotional romantic side. I enjoy it. What's my thang? It's different to cook for these guys, because they're all vegans. I like to cook stews like beef bourguignon and coq au vin. I made them a lot of pasta and veggies. Zal [Batmanglij] and Brit had a house in Shreveport [Louisiana], and we would go and hang out there on weekends. We would hang out and cook and drink wine and dance and occasionally get some work done.One of the interesting ideas the film brings up is how much food is wasted in this country. Do you have a rule for how long food is on the floor before you don't eat it?
I come from a very big, large family with tons of kids, so I'm pretty used to eating off the floor. With seven siblings, you grab whatever you can. We throw away so much good food in this country, and we don't even think about how much we waste. We've created a society where we consume so much — not just food, but everything. And I'm not judging. I'm part of that system. It's good to be aware of it.

I don’t know! They just called me in for the next episode.
So, something will happen with Lettie Mae towards the end of the season? Do you know what it is?
No! I don’t know. That’s how I am with “True Blood.” In the first season, I would ask other people, “Am I in this script?” This one, I just wait for the phone call. So the phone calls come and now it’s all about making sure that I can try to do both shows.What has it been like to be involved in a show like “True Blood” with such a devoted fan base? What kind of adventures have you had because of it?
I get these looks, where people are like, “Did we go to high school together?” Then they have the realization that I’m Tara’s mother, and it’s like, “Oh!” It’s fun. It helps sometimes at the airport. [laughs] Getting through security; maybe I don’t get profiled as much as I used to. [Some people say], “Wow, you look so much better in real life.” When you come back to work on “True Blood,” is it like going back home?
It’s lovely, yes! Home… “Newsroom” really feels like home. I kind of get a little nervous if I’m not there for a while. Like, “I’ve got to get back!” But [on "True Blood"], it’s like, “Hey! Adina’s back! Lettie Mae’s back!” So yes, it feels comfortable. Once I was there and I was being a little picky, and I said, “Where’s my seat-back? I’ve got a seat-back! I'll be reading Charlaine's latest Sookie Stackhouse novel with enthusiasm. I have to confess what interests me is what Charlaine does with her own characters. But I do know this kind of polarization about a book indicates the characters are truly real for the readers. And that's a wonderful thing. Comments on the article most welcome. And on Sookie and on the brilliant woman who created Sookie."

We live in a world of me-me-me-what about me, so of course the over the top CH bashers ( the ones who make the twihards look sane and of course are way too old to be so upset over a fantasy novel) are only concerned with their own fantasies not being carried out. If my life ever gets so empty that I have to go to multiple boards, twitter, Facebook fan pages and forums to gripe not for a day but daily the last weeks, then please shake me, dunk me in the Hudson River till I get a grip of reality. There are so many tragedies and inequities in the world that deserve your righteous indignation and Dead Ever After is not one of them. If you are unhappy with the ending or the book in general, sell it on Amazon, give it away, there are people that would love a free book.

Loving True Blood in Dallas came out of her self imposed retirement just to post this,

We have known for years the series would end this year and we knew Charlaine had to move her creative juices on to the next project and that’s OK. Sure it’s sad to lose our annual visits with the Bon Temps gang but it’s just time …
I think I have ALWAYS known how the series would end, I don’t know why and if you read the blog or listened to the radio show you know I said what a thought a few times and I won’t be a spoiler it here now, but this ending always seemed right for Sookie.
I LOVED the book, I couldn’t wait --I downloaded the eBook at midnight and dove right in. I was so glad to be with Sookie again for her last book and although the book had it's rough points there were such great flashes of Charlaine’s amazing wit and wonderful details and descriptions.
I was so glad to be once again inside Sookie’s head ( always loved the unique first person ) wonderful wisdom, loyalty and humor.
I was thinking as I was reading this last book that after 5 years of True Blood when I read a Sookie book I never NEVER picture the actors ( all excellent ) who play the characters on the HBO TV show
I see Sookie as Lesi Desimini always drew her on the amazing book covers and when I hear Sookie talk in my head I hear her as the amazing voice actor, Johanna Parker always voiced her in the audio books. ( if you haven’t listened to audio book you have a pleasant 13 book adventure ahead of you ! ) I think this may be the key to this over the top “ shipper’ response to the books ending and directions of the storylines in the books. You have to keep the TV series and the books separate in your mind and you have to realize there are lots of folks that don’t think the way you do and respect them as equal fans ! Most of all you should be eternally grateful to the amazing and wonderful Charlaine Harris for bring us these great characters, stories and for sharing them with us for all these years.

Sookie wants her life back! Everything is spinning out of control! The humans are pissed! The vampires are even more pissed! Basically, True Blood is going all out this year. Just watch the season six trailer and you'll see what we mean. Plus, that big death that's happening this season? It might happen a lot sooner than we originally thought. It's in the second half of the season, but before the finale.

My day has been extra busy. I did fifteen interviews this morning, drove home today, and now I'm skimming through all the comments. I wrote the best book I could, and I'm confident I stayed true to the characters I'd been writing for so many years. It's disappointing to have people impugn my character in such a personal way, but I hope on the whole that many people are entertained by the book and find it a satisfying end to Sookie's adventures.

This summer, Preston will begin her sixth season as Arlene on HBO's vampire soap "True Blood," but being a regular on that premium cable hit hasn't prevented her from pivotal recurring roles on a pair of CBS favorites.HitFix: I know you're not going to be able to tell me anything that happens on "True Blood" this season, but I'm just curious as to how this season felt different with Alan Ball not running the show.
Carrie Preston: Well, of course Alan was our Papa, our Daddy, so he sorta left us and we were all very sad to see him go, but we have such a great writing team in place and there's such a continuity with that. Brian Buckner, who's running show now, he's been a writer since Season 1, so he obviously knows the tone and the way the thing runs and you've got a group of actors, we've been together coming up on six years now and it's pretty amazing that we've been able to be on the show that long. It's just such a rare thing. So I think that, if anything, there's been a bit of a sorta fresh air, a fluffing of the sheets, so-to-speak. So there are some new things, energy-wise, that are coming down the pike, but the overall tone of the show and the overall way the show is done has remained in line with Alan's vision.
HitFix: Just as a last question... I know that no working actor is ever going to complain about working too much, but what impact has your currently level of acting busy-ness had on you ability to even contemplate a behind-the-camera follow-up to "That's What She Said"?
Carrie Preston: Oh! You're so sweet to even mention "That What She Said." It's just airing on Showtime this week. We're so excited. They acquired it and it's just starting to show up on TV, so that's a whole new level of fans, hopefully, that will discover the movie.
So yes, of course I'm always busy doing those things. I have a webseries called "Darwin" that I directed the first three episodes and the writers have at least six more episodes written, so we're gonna do a Kickstarter campaign and hopefully get a little support for finishing shooting that and I'll probably be doing that sometime in the fall. And then also, my production company has teamed up with another production company to produce an indie film in Asheville, North Carolina and I will be actually playing the lead in that. It's called "Your Ass Is Grass" and it's a Southern psychological art-house thriller and it's something that I've never done before, played that kind of a role, so I'm really looking forward to that. So we're in the process of putting that all together with investors and actors and all those things that you have to go through before you can actually shoot a film. It takes so much longer to get ready to shoot a film ... than the actual shooting of the film.

Far from being read nursery rhymes to sleep, Alexander Skarsgard’s parents “partied a lot when I was a kid. I would fall asleep, and they would just put me underneath the table and keep partying,” Skarsgard said at the Cinema Society/Tod’s event for “What Maisie Knew” at Gallow Green. “I loved . . . falling asleep to my parents laughing and . . . drinking and having a good time. I guess some people think that’s bad, but I thought it was awesome.” NYPost.

The Inquisitr’s Niki Cruz sat down with Alexander and 7-year-old Onata Aprile to chat about his film What Maisie Knew, and True Blood, in it's entirety at the link.

THE INQUISITR: As True Blood gets more and more popular there’s opportunities to do other projects like this. What are you interested in?

SKARSGARD: It’s all about challenges and doing things that don’t feel repetitive. It should be and hopefully it is a creative profession. The creativity is in the discovery. You first sit down with a script and you start to think about the character, “Alright, this is something I haven’t done before and I don’t quite get who this guy is, but I’m curious and I want to discover who he is.” If I don’t feel that when I’m reading it, it’s not a fun process. If I have all the answers then there’s no discovery there. Reading Maisie after I shot True Blood for six months was great because I thought, “Oh man, this is something very different.” There’s got to be some question marks. Moving forward I want to keep pushing myself and to find those challenges, and to learn and grow as an actors.

THE INQUISITR: Do you ever worry about getting burned out? You have The East, What Maisie Knew, and Hidden coming up.

SKARSGARD: Yeah. It’s pretty intense right now because we’re still shooting the show and I’ve been traveling around with all these three films to the different film festivals. I don’t get enough sleep but I’m genuinely passionate about all three projects. I just had the most amazing time working. Come on, you get to hang out with Onata! It’s not bad.THE INQUISITR: Do you feel like the True Blood

books are following your character’s arc well?

SKARSGARD: At this point I think we’ve kind of gone on a different path. (DUH!!!!) It’s based on the world and the characters, and in the beginning we follow book by book. The season would be based on that book, and the third season would be based on the third book, but now it’s taken on a life of its own. I think it has to because otherwise what’s the point of watching the show if you can just read the books? It has to have its own identity.

THE INQUISITR: There’s this terrible rumor going around that your character on True Blood is going to get killed off. Is that true?

SKARSGARD: I obviously can’t say [LAUGHS].

Alexander Skarsgård lies on the bed in a room at the Soho Grand Hotel, his boots kicked off to the side. “Grab a robe and join me!” he says with a laugh, when The Post showed up to interview him. “Welcome to my lair.” It sounds like a line his seductive vampire alter ego, Eric Northman, might say to Anna Paquin’s Sookie on their hit series “True Blood,” as he lures her into something sordid.It’s no wonder the sexy 36-year-old Swede is the biggest thing to come out of “True Blood.” He’s got two movies in theaters now: “Disconnect” — the “Crash” for the digital age — and the emotionally riveting tale of a child in a torn family, “What Maisie Knew,” an updated version of the Henry James novel of the same name, which opened Friday. Later this month, he stars in “The East” alongside Ellen Page and Brit Marling, in a thriller about an anarchist group seeking revenge on corporations.

Skarsgård spent his six month hiatus from “True Blood” packing in film projects.
“I definitely don’t get enough sleep,” he says. “But it’s great. I’m genuinely so excited about all three films.”
Each movie seems hand-picked for an actor on the rise, one making a bid for a varied career. But don’t tell Skarsgård that.
“[It’s] not like, ‘Hey look at me I’m versatile!’ ” he says.“[It’s] just creatively to stay true to myself.”In “What Maisie Knew,” Skarsgård sheds his bad-boy image to play Lincoln, a bartender who forms a strong bond with a little girl in need, Maisie.
Onata Aprile, the 7-year-old actress who plays Maisie and likes to draw “kites and people and things with nature in it,” grins from ear to ear at the mention of Skarsgård, whom she lovingly calls Alex. “He was really fun and funny,” she says, squirming in her seat. “I like to climb on Alex.”
Skarsgård confirms: “I was kind of like a tree trunk. When we’d walk down the street, she would use my arm as a branch.”
The directors of “Maisie,” Scott McGehee and David Siegel, were unfamiliar with Skarsgård’s “True Blood” work when he expressed interest upon reading the script. Their frame of reference was his role as a moronic model in “Zoolander.” Spoiler alert: He dies in a gasoline fight.
“So we knew that he had a funny bone,” says McGehee. “But we didn’t really know what he was like as a person.”
There was also the little problem of audiences possibly wondering why there was a vampire in the middle of an indie drama.
“It was a big concern,” says Siegel. “It wasn’t that we were worried about his acting chops. We just thought, ‘How far can he step outside of that?’ ”
Step out he did. The directors were onboard with Skarsgård after meeting him.
Though “Maisie” showed Skarsgård’s softer side, his role in “Disconnect” showed him literally softer. The lean and buff star made the character choice to try to pack on the pounds. “I tried, yeah,” he says. “I put on a little bit of weight, but I didn’t have much time because we shot it right after ‘Maisie.’ I just obviously didn’t work out, and I ate a lot of bad food.”
It’s a bold move for a man at least partially known for his abdominals.
“If I feel that a guy that I’m about to play looks a specific way, I have to stay true to that,” he says. “I can’t be like, ‘Hmm, I’m a sex symbol, so what are the fans going to say?’ It’s not like, ‘Oh, look at me! I can actually play ugly!’ F - - k that.”
A more muscle-y big-screen role may be in his future, though. He’s in talks to star in a sure-to-be blockbuster, David Yates’ “Tarzan.” “The script has so much depth, and it’s such a rich, interesting character,” says Skarsgård. “If you find that in a movie like ‘Tarzan,’ great. It’s all about finding something that you’re excited about.”
A schedule like Skarsgård’s takes planning. “True Blood” films for more than half the year and then Skarsgård precisely crams in his movie projects. During one break a year and a half ago, he filmed all three of his current projects back-to-back.
“Coming back to ‘True Blood’ after six months of that, I am very fulfilled creatively,” he says. “It’s actually nice to come back to the crew and the cast, [who] have kind of become a little surrogate family in LA, thousands of miles away from my family in Sweden.”
But isn’t he growing a bit bored of bloodsucking?
“It doesn’t feel repetitive,” he says.
“I think the writers on the show are so good, and they keep it interesting for us actors. Every season, I feel like I’m evolving and learning and growing.”
“But the day you wake up and don’t feel that,” he adds, “then it’s definitely time to move on.”

More casting rumors abound for the lead role in F. Javier Gutierrez's remake of The Crow. Turns out the previously reported Tom Hiddleston has flown the coop, and now Relativity Media is circling "True Blood"'s Alexander Skarsgard to rise from the grave for vengeance.
We'll just file this one under rumor for now because nothing is official. It's amazing the devil of a time the powers-that-be are having in terms of nailing down a star. Could Hollywood's best and brightest be afraid of the long talked about Curse of The Crow? Who knows. When we know more, you'll know more.
Let's just say he's in talks for every movie that is coming down the pike, eventually we'll get a hit.

Anna's movie from her production company, "Free Ride", is going to Cannes, via Deadline-
Cargo Entertainment has acquired international rights to Free Ride, a Shana Betz-directed crime drama that stars Anna Paquinand Twilight Saga‘s Cam Gigandet.True Blood star Paquin plays a single mom who moves to Florida with her daughters to try and make a better life but gets caught up in the drug-trade business in the late 1970s. Gigandet plays Paquin’s love interest. Betz, who’s making her directorial debut, wrote the script based on her own life story. The film also stars Liana Liberato, Ava Acres, Drea De Matteo, Jeff Hephner and Paquin’sTrue Blood cohort Brit Morgan. Cerise Hallam Larkin, Susan Dynner, and Paquin are producing and Mark Larkin and Stephen Moyer are exec producers. This bolsters a Cargo slate at Cannes that includes an adaptation of the Stephen King novel Cell that will star John Cusack, the Thomas Jane-helmed A Magnificent Death From A Shattered Hand, and Andy Garcia’s Hemingway & Fuentes. Paradigm will broker the domestic distribution deal on Free Ride.

Q: The Sookie series has so many fans. Why end it now?
A: I've just come to the end of that particular road. I didn't have a complete story arc in mind, but probably by the second book, I had an idea where I wanted the books to end. I began to feel the creativity of the series was wearing thin and I hate to keep on writing characters when I've lost my love for them. So it seemed time to end the series while I was still happy with what I was doing.
Q: You haven't fallen out of love with Sookie, have you?
A: Oh gosh, no, but I just don't want to ruin her by keeping on writing her when the thrill of it is gone.
Q: Do you think the ending of Dead Ever After will please fans?
A: There's just no way. I hope they will be, but there are a lot of real strong partisans for one or the other of the possible endings. I just realized a few books ago that there was no way I could make everybody happy so I just had to settle on doing what I thought was right.

What readers say over and over again is that the characters drew them to the books; and the atmosphere. The characters struck them as real. No, they talk about emotions, feeling, being drawn into the emotional history of a soul.

Our king of actors, Denis o'Hare updated his blog with his trip to Boston experiences, sounds like the Acela to me. The whole thing with piccies and video at his site.

So our first stop on our somewhat intermittent world tour begins. Donald, our stage manager and Scott, our lighting designer arrived in Boston on Sunday night and Lisa, Rachel, Brian and I all met at Penn station Monday morning and took the 8:30 train. We imagined all sitting together and chatting - getting one of those 4 seat areas - comfortably installed - maybe we could even get a table in the cafe car where we could plug in and use the generous Amtrak wi-fi and get some work done. Uh....no. As per usual when they announce the track in Penn station, there was a mad dash (although fairly casual and restrained I thought) to line up at door 10E. The line quickly became at least 2 lines with feeder streams from right and left which meant that you had to start subtly elbowing your way as you got closer to the ticket taker.
Train was hilarious. Lost Brian and his bass almost immediately. Didn't see him again until we arrived in Boston. Lisa texted me to say she and Rachel were in car # 8526 - what does that mean???

BOOKS: What kind of reading did you do for “True Blood”?
O’HARE: I did very little reading about vampires. To me, it’s not what makes this guy interesting. I decided he was a Celt, probably a slave. I read about the history of the Celts, who were, ironically, sun worshippers.
BOOKS: Being immortal, vampires never have to worry about having the time to read all they want, do they?
O’HARE: True, yet I decided early on that he is illiterate.

When last we saw Sam’s oft-undressed lady friend, she was accidentally skin-walking on national television — and Janina Gavankar recently told HollywoodLife.com there will be hell to pay when the show returns June 16.
“She just outed everyone in the shifter community, so now the world knows there’s more than one supernatural creature on this earth,” Janina explained. “Holy. F**k. Imagine being a human watching that. As it is, you have to deal with the idea of there being vampires. This is potentially bad for every shifter on the planet.”
Janina teased that the shifters will experience in season six what vampires had to deal with prior to the series premiere.
“You remember when they ‘came out of the coffin?’” she recalled. “It’s like restarting the series all over again for that supernatural group.”
While Janina couldn’t tell me exactly what goes down between Sam and Luna in season six, she was more than happy to cryptically share a recent on-set experience she shared with Sam Trammell: I wasn’t even in the shot with him — I was off to the side, like 100 feet away — and the stuff I could hear him doing was making me lose my mind. I was in a warm up tent 100 feet away, and I was crying. True Blood is A-game all day long. I have nothing but major love for him. I go so lucky that I got paired up with him. He’s tremendous.

As a wrap gift two years ago, [someone] got me a little wooden statue that someone made in Ohio … he mailed away for it. It’s a little wooden Alcide statue with a little flannel shirt and the jeans and the beard, so I have that sitting right on my night stand.And then you nabbed the role on “True Blood,” and then you played a stripper in “Magic Mike." What would be your dream role?
Like I said I just filmed this movie with David Ayer and Arnold Schwarzenegger and Terrence Howard and Sam Worthington and I got to play a federal DEA agent and that was awesome, that was great. And aside from that, I’m in talks, well depending on my schedule, I have this football movie coming up that I’ve been offered a part in. But we’re trying to work my schedule out, so that would be awesome.

ETonline: Lots of behind the scenes changes coming into season six, with the exodus of showrunner Alan Ball and a shortened episode order. How do you think all of that has played into what we'll see on screen?
Carrie Preston: There's a different energy without Alan, but the showrunner now has been with us from the beginning, so there's a solid continuity to the storytelling. But I do think both of those things have given us a new spring in our step. All the actors are reinvesting in the show. As for the 10 episodes, I think it makes everything tighter. They still have to get everything they wanted to do into two less episodes, so it's got a real breakneck speed this season.ETonline: She also represents the human element in Bon Temps. Do you still stand by your statement that Arlene should never become a supernatural?
Preston: Oh yes. And with people dying or leaving the show or being turned into supernatural creatures, there's fewer and fewer humans by the episode, so I feel like I'm now the special one on the show because I don't have any powers.ETonline: What can you say about season six?
Preston: We pick up right where we left off, and then a million other storylines get introduced. Every time I come to the table read there are 15 people I've never seen before ... and will never work with [laughs]. But I'll see them at the wrap party.ETonline: So Arlene and Terry will very much be dealing with the murder of Patrick at the start?
Preston: Yes, there are major emotional ramifications for what went down. I mean, we killed somebody. MORE

“So Amelia had been talking to someone about a cluviel dor,” the devil said. “That led her to bring it up with you. How interesting. No one’s had one for . . . well, in my memory. A cluviel dor would have been made by the fae . . . and you understand, they are not tiny, cute creatures with wings.”

Carmichael nodded. “I’m astounded to discover what exists out there,” he said. “I have to believe in fairies now. And I have to consider that maybe my daughter isn’t such a screwball after all. Though I think she’s deluded about her own power.”

The devil raised his perfect eyebrows. There seemed to be more than one deluded person in the Carmichael family. “About the cluviel dor . . . the fae used them all. I don’t believe there are any left on earth, and I can’t go into Faery since the upheaval. A thing or two has been expelled out of Faery . . . but nothing goes in.” He looked mildly regretful.

“There is one cluviel dor available, and from what I can tell, it’s being concealed by a friend of my daughter’s,” Copley Carmichael said. “I know you can find it.”

“Fascinating,” the devil said, quite sincerely. “And what do you want it for? After I find it?”

I don't know if it's the celestial alignments, the changing times, future shock or what but we are not having a good April. I love horror, sci-fi and fantasy genres, not horror in real life. I have had enough of that, truth is stranger and more terrifying than fiction in this girl's life. It's the reason I lived in front of books and television/movie screens as a child, a tween, a teen and adult. Being human is difficult for some and harder to find humane humans more and more in the hard light of reality. There's more tenderness in Larry Talbot's wolf nature than in a lot of our fellow human travelers in this life and Dracula only wanted someone to love, eternally. Take a break this weekend, watch some good old fashioned fantasy movies, True Blood, Supernatural, Fringe episodes, some Bela, some sci-fi, you'll feel a hella better after. Peace, Love and Robert Smith I always say.

If you haven't seen Red Hill, you should, this interview makes me want to re-watch.

Of course we have to throw a couple honorable mentions out there first: She was one of the original murder victims that really set the tone for "True Blood," Adele Stackhouse (more commonly known as Sookie's "Gran") was in the wrong place at the wrong time when Rene Lenier came to her residence to kill Sookie. He ended up killing Gran instead. Sam Merlotte's brother, Tommy Mickens, got a chance to make some brotherly amendments before he succumbed to his injuries from the hands of the wolf pack. "Eggs" Benedict Tally was the victim of Jason Stackhouse's itchy trigger-finger when Jason misinterpreted Eggs' surrender as an attack on Sheriff Andy Bellefleur. And although her head-twisting sex scene with Bill Compton was even more stunning than her death, Lorena Krasiki's extermination at the hands of Sookie was a thriller!

All great things must come to an end, and that includes Russell Edgington…twice. Russell was consistently one of the best characters on the show, and after being exposed to the sun and encased in silver and concrete by Eric and Bill, it seemed as if one of the show's best villains was to be no more. However, Russell managed to escape his rocky tomb to rise again to wreak more havoc. Russell was finally given the true death by the vampire from whom he had taken the most. He was staked by Eric Northman.

Talbot (Theo Alexander) Talbot seemed almost untouchable. He'd been Russell Edgington's consort for 700 years, and the king was very much in love with him. But with love comes vulnerability, and Eric realized that. The Viking used Talbot's attraction to him to lure the Greek into a compromising position, where it was quite easy to "stab him in the back" and seriously wound Russell. The shock of the death was felt by Edgington miles away and evoked the wrath of the ancient vampire like never before.

The Testament of Mary, which Colm Tóibín based on his own novel, presents not the saintly exemplar of maternal love familiar from religious paintings, but a woman of flesh and blood (and attitude). “I hope the trick of the play is that you’re meeting someone that you might meet in Brooklyn,” she tells Kurt Andersen.

Shaw is known for portraying larger-than-life women like Euripides’ Medea and Ibsen’s Hedda Gabler. During the rounds of interviews for Disconnect, Alexander answered a True Blood question from Paula Schwartz, watchers of the show already know about the war going on,-
We’re busy fighting humans,” Alexander Skarsgard told me when I asked him what was happening in season six of “True Blood.” “There’s a full on war going on between vampires and humans,” he told me. He hinted that humans have a fighting chance against the thirsty bloodsuckers because they have discovered their weak spot. “So that’s what’s going on. I think Luna is a goner, if Sara is back for a funeral that would only be for Jason or Steve and if Nora splats, well, I could care less. If Sam either leaves or bite my tongue, dies I won't be happy.

New promo, looks like right after they get out of the Authority Headquarters and Jason thinks Nora has information because she asked him about his Warlow mutterings. Stephen looks good as the director, hope he does more of it in the future.

So from the latest info we know that Rikki is fearful that the pack is endangered, that humans might do the same to the shifters as they are doing to vamps. When last we saw Sam’s oft-undressed lady friend, she was accidentally skin-walking on national television — and Janina Gavankar recently told HollywoodLife.com there will be hell to pay.
“She just outed everyone in the shifter community, so now the world knows there’s more than one supernatural creature on this earth,” Janina explained. “Holy. F**k. Imagine being a human watching that. As it is, you have to deal with the idea of there being vampires. This is potentially bad for every shifter on the planet.”

I was in a warm up tent 100 feet away, and I was crying. True Blood is A-game all day long. I have nothing but major love for him. I go so lucky that I got paired up with him. He’s tremendous.

So he floats up to Willa's window (she really looks like Nora in these scenes) glamours her and maybe sexes her up (she should get at least that bonerus) before bringing her to Fangtasia?

The girl in what looks like a white nightgown is in the video, I thought it was Nora when this pic was first posted, (Thanks to robertmceachren on Instagram! ) but it is Amelia Rose Blaire playing Willa Burrell. This is what the casting news said for the role- Female, Caucasian, 22, a pretty co-ed, she is Governor Burrell's (Arliss Howard) daughter. While her position is against her fathers plans she is powerless to stop him from his agenda.. recurring. Amelia Rose Blaire has been cast as Willa. (TVLine).
Why is she at Fangtasia in her nightgown telling Eric about her dad's vamp experiments? If this is from "Abducted" maybe it's referring to her, Eric takes her to have leverage over the Governor and finds out Willa is on the vamps side (Patty Hearst!).

So far we see that Niall (Rutger) isn't only in Jason's head, he's at the fae club (I just can't) and doing some whammyjammy and he is with Sookie. Billy really believes he's a god, we pretty much were assured of that last season when crazy drank the blood because he was chosen. Here's a breakdown if you can't watch the vid in your area. Tara looks to be silver chained to a red neck pick up and dragged (bad memories of racial atrocities actually done). Jason watched Lloyd Bridges on Seinfeld and it is "go time" for him now. Sorry, still don't like the Nora character, feel she came out of writer's left field with no previous history to make her believable for me. It was Pam and Godric in Eric's life, who he was devoted to, and I wish they kept true to that history of 4 seasons. Lilith, no words necessary. Hey look! Warlow grew a beard in the same flashback on the bridge we saw a few times where he didn't have one, continuity be damned. As in the set-side photos Billy boy is in the daylight, all cleaned up and ready to visit the governor. Sounds like Sara Newlin doing the voice over in the second half of the video and Steve Newlin captured while she is talking. She says this is god's plan to save the human race by eradicating the vampire race, poor Steve, first Russell now you. Rikki is telling Alcide that if they do to them what they are doing to the vamps, there won't be a pack. It looks like Danielle (she was in scenes last season with the pack) the werewolf punches out Lafayette, maybe it's Rikki. Granpa (to the Nth degree) Niall is teaching Sookie to control her powers, hoping he doesn't do any dancing at the club, please no. We see a shot of Jessica at college, how cute she looks, must be night classes. Then we have a scene right out of Salem's Lot (Rutger was in the remake) where Eric plays Ralphie Glick as he floats up to Willa Burrell at her window.
So Sookie does get down with Ben, because she is so clear headed that is a good move, right?

At least we see Jess with Bill, they look reconciled, looks to be after his daylight walk and gunshots to the chest, he is wearing the same shirt and is bloodtearedstained on his face parts. For a real stretch, Alcide growls, maybe at Sam or he's going to have sex. Sam is running with Emma, so either Luna is gone (d-d-dead) or she isn't in the shot. Looks like Jason gets a fairy blast on the stairs, because that will be good for his concussion. Damn, Sookie opens the door for Bill, Sookie says you really believe you're god? He says it's demanded of him. Looks like someone is recinding an invite and pushing Jess into the light or just to a well-llt porch. Don't know what got into Lafayette but he is baptising Sookie, as if he is Lettie Mae, DUNK!

Even when the dramatic stakes are raised to the point of pounding music accompanying super-slow motion, potentially tragic violence, "Disconnect" struck a chord with me in a way few films have in recent years.
I believed the lives of these people. I believed they'd do the drastic things they do in the face of crisis. I ached for them when things went terribly wrong and rooted for them when there were glimmers of hope.
You should see this movie. Please.
We get three distinct story lines, with some overlap between two of the main threads.
Cindy (Paula Patton) and Derek (Alexander Skarsgard) are as handsome a couple as you'll ever see, but they're in mourning over the loss of their baby, and their already troubled marriage is further tested when their identities are stolen on the Internet — most likely because Cindy spends most of her day online, in particular chatting with a man who claims to be a widower and seems interested in meeting her in person. How did you get into the headspace for this character?
SKARSGARD: For Derek, I saw the internet theft almost as a blessing in disguise. Up until that point, he has no control. He’s conflicted. He was a warrior and a hero, and now he’s a paper-pushing grunt. There’s so much guilt there and so much pride. He doesn’t want to talk to anyone about it. He can’t do that. So, the moment of taking control is when this horrible thing happens. Not that they have a lot, but they get the money they have, stolen from them. That’s when he comes back. That’s the moment where he takes control again. He’s suddenly a marine again, on a mission. There’s a spark there. Something happens that Cindy can see, in his eyes. For the first time, in a long time, he’s actually alive.
Does it help, when you’re doing material that’s this dark and intense, that you like your scene partner?
SKARSGARD: That was very important. Even in the first meeting I had with Henry, we talked a lot about it, and Paula wasn’t even cast yet. It was important to feel the love between Derek and Cindy. Even though they’re so disconnected from each other and they’re so miserable together, you have to root for them. You have to feel that there is, deep down, so much love between them, so that when they go on this road trip, you want the audience to be like, “Yeah, they’re finally looking at each other. They’re finally touching each other. This could work out.” Otherwise, what’s the point. You want to feel that there was something lost, not that it’s never been there.
Which scene were you most worried about shooting and pulling off?
SKARSGARD: My character is dealing with PTSD, and there’s a scene that was very pivotal, with [Paula and I] in the car, outside of Schumacher’s (Michael Nyqvist) house. They’re clearly not connecting, up until this point, but when they’re on this road trip, something happens. Derek, for the first time in almost a decade, he’s doing recon. He’s on a mission. He’s finally doing something. He’s not a paper-pushing grunt anymore. And something beautiful happens in that scene when Cindy sees that. Derek talks about an incident back in Iraq and Cindy just looks at him because he’s talking about it. What I loved about the scene was that it really had no point. It’s not a good story. There was no punchline. It was just this moment in time, when he was out there with his boys, doing absolutely nothing, and for some reason, he felt that, in this moment, with Cindy. There’s a moment where they, for the first time, really see each other. It could come across as an insignificant scene, but to me, it was one of the most important ones. MORE

WIGS Greenlights ‘Susanna’ Starring Anna Paquin And Maggie Grace via Deadline

The YouTube channel has started production on the web series, a 12-episode scripted drama written and directed by WIGS co-founder Jon Avnet that is slated to premiere later this spring. Anna Paquin and Maggie Grace star in Susanna as two sisters, Katie (Paquin), the mother of a newborn, and her younger sister, Susanna (Grace), an investment banker on the rise who has no interest in becoming a mother. When Katie develops acute postpartum depression and is hospitalized, Susanna must take care of her sister and her sister’s child while trying to keep the biggest business opportunity of her life from being derailed by her sister’s illness. Virginia Madsen and Rob Benedict co-star. The female-targeted WIGS in February formed a programming, marketing and distribution partnership with Fox, which aims at expanding WIGS’ offerings as well as testing and nurturing dramatic concepts and talent in the digital realm. The idea is to build content that can be programmed on the network and/or other channels. WIGS has more than 130,000 subs and its content has been viewed more than 30 million times.

There's an advanced screening of "The East" , Saturday April 13th at The Ivy Film Festival in Rhode Island. The Ivy Film Festival is the world's largest student-run film festival, held at Brown University from April 8-14, 2013. No word on whether the cast will attend but this is a chance to see it before the general public.

IMDB lists Linn Bjorn (Grimm) as cast for Niall's mother in episode 4 of the new season, "I'm Your Man". I was wondering if Ben having a parental flashback and Niall having one also had some meaning, maybe it was an error or something more. Since 2 different actresses are cast it might just be a fairyland background thang.

The 13th and final book, Dead Ever After, harks back to its murder mystery roots as Sookie is arrested for a crime. After making bail she tries to clear her name, but her investigation only leads to more deaths. “I think the books that were murder mystery were the more successful ones, the more focused,” she says.The plot will also feature the Devil. “Well, there’s a Devil, not the Devil,” Harris clarifies, “If I have the fae, some of whom are trying to become Angels, I think by implication it can be assumed that there are Devils, too.”
Fans will also see the return of the some of Sookie’s past and potential lovers, as the book’s artwork reveals. It features Sookie, Eric, Alcide, Sam and Quinn (in their supernatural forms) walking around the edge of a full moon. Conspicuous by his absence is Vampire Bill, who Sookie fell for in the first book, and fans are waiting to see who she will ultimately end up with, if anyone.
Harris is expecting mixed reactions to the ending: “I always knew I couldn’t write an end that would make everybody happy and, of course, I haven’t,” she says. “It’s the right ending and it’s the one I had planned from the beginning, but it’s inevitable that there are going to people that are gonna be less than happy with it.”Dead Ever After will be published by Gollancz on 7 May 2013.

You were attached for a while. Does that mean whatever financing or scheduling for the film had to work around your schedule? Because you’re on a TV show that needs you at a set time.
That wasn’t a problem. I had two other films though that were already scheduled. I was shooting a movie called What Maisie Knew in New York and then I was starting another one called The East a month later. But, because of the nature of the film, we could actually block shoot it. We could shoot the stuff with me, Paula and Frank and Michael Nyqvist so that when I wrapped What Maisie Knewon Friday, a couple of days later I was able to start Disconnect and shoot that for three weeks, and then go down to Louisiana to do The East. So it worked out perfectly.
Are you attached to Tarzan now?
Um… No, I mean, we’ll see what happens. I’m not quite sure yet.
Have you been courting a big franchise role for yourself for a while?
No, no, not at all. It’s all about finding scripts and directors that I’m creatively excited about, be it a small, European art house film like Melancholia or a cool little gritty indie like Disconnect or a huge movie. Whatever it is, it’s always about the script, the character and the director. Am I excited about working with this director and exploring this character? So I don’t really care about other things.
And can you believe you’re working on a sixth season of “True Blood?”
We’re halfway through. I’m actually going to set in a couple hours, another night shoot, but I’m working with some of the most talented people in television and a cast and crew that are just like a family now. Like you said, six years is a long time and I’m fortunate to be working with not only very, very skilled actors and crew members, but also good people. It’s still a lot of fun.

I went to the Apple Soho store for the Meet The Film Maker's series for Disconnect. I got there early, left walked around, took pics (which later came to bite me when my last battery was dead), went back and listened to a tutorial on movie music soundtracks (really cool) and it was still empty. It was scheduled to start at 5pm, by 4:45 people started dropping in. The Apple staff were really nice, the guy who did the lighting helped me with my camera, I'm really too embarrassed to tell you what but it took him one click of a button to fix it.

Anyway it wound up starting late, almost 5:30 but it was worth it. I had my 2nd row center seat and didn't leave, Matthew Eisman, whose photos are the first on the net from Getty was directly in front of me and his head was in some of my shots, as if it mattered. My wee Olympus sucks, the 4 photogs in front had huge cameras and even the one with a smaller camera had great pics, as I could see from their previews.

Alex and Jason got on famously, don't know if Jason was joking but he said more than once they just met 3 days ago, they filmed the stories separately and they never meet up in the film. The director said he wanted Alex for the part because of Generation Kill and the Iceman role he was so great in. I had to clap at that mention and a few people joined in. His character is an ex-military man not doing well in civilian life but he rises to the occasion and gets into heroic take down mode after his and his wife's identitiy is stolen. Henry Alex Rubin said Jason's character also has to protect his family and his son from cyber bullies, he made a joke about it being a follow up to the comedy Identity Theft. Frank Grillo plays the internet detective whose own son, it turns out, is involved with the sleazy villain played by Marc Jacobs. Paula Patton talked about her role too and how the director and movie set was the best she ever was on. She is as beautiful in person as in photos, perfect skin, teeth and a very genuine personality, she complimented everyone on the film. I don't notice in the photos how sunburned Alexander was in person, made me wonder if he isn't in season 6 much or is he just spending extra time in make-up to be vampiric pale. The moderator was writer Peter Travers, his review is very positive at RollingStone.

They took some questions but also said it would be on the free Itunes of the whole event later, I got into spook undercover mode so didnt ask any. Yeah I'm weird.

Look at Bateman's face, he was on a roll. He may play the straight man on Arrested Development but he has jokes.This has to be one of the photographers right in front of where I was, there is no credit.

Blood Doesn't Make Us Family

I get the feeling Andy is going to need more than fruity cocktails to cope in this new season. A Fae mom, who translated the contract written in blood between Warlow and John Stackhouse, then leaves her 4 half fae babes with a guy who has no clue in the town they'd be in the most danger, is a dipwad. Poor Andy. The more I think about it and re-watch the latest promo, the more confused about Warlow I become. Is he going to be someone we meet this season, someone who seems benign which is the reason his face is still not shown (they used extras for Warlow previously)? I will have to get back to speculating soon HERE, get the headache meds ready.

Joe Manganiello not only plays a professional criminal in a new campaign for Magnum Gold ice cream, but he was also one in real life. Video interview with Marc Malkin.
But don't worry, the True Blood star's thievery didn't land him behind bars.
"This is completely dorky, but I used to read comic books so fast," Manganiello told me on the set of a Magnum short film that will debut later this month at the Tribeca Film Festival. "I was a total comic book geek, and I used to read them so fast that I'd just steal them."However, his conscience eventually got to him. "I did go back in my late twenties and I found the store in Pittsburgh," Manganiello said. "The comics were still in my mom's closet. I called up the store and it was the same owner and the same location and I went and returned to him all of the comic books that I stole."
Now, more about Magnum. "Isn't it a coincidence that I'm here as a spokesman for Magnum and I played a character named Big Dick Richie [in Magic Mike]?" Manganiello said with a laugh. "When my mother heard that I was going to be a spokesman for Magnum, she got really upset, but I said, 'No, no, no, Mom—it's ice cream.The short film also features Project Runway's Zac Posen and a one-of-a-kind 24-karat gold dress that he designed valued at $1.5 million. Manganiello said his character is trying to pull "off the heist of the century, but unfortunately—or fortunately—for me, I cross paths with another professional criminal also after the same loot."She also happens to be a beautiful Brazilian model," he smiled.
So is the totally ripped Manganiello actually an ice cream eater?
"I am," he said.
But then he quickly added, "When I'm not running around naked in the woods."

Dale Raoul, Maxine Fortenberry, scored a great new job on Stephen King's Under the Dome. Aisha Hinds, Miss Jeanette from season 1 is also in the show.
Of all of the actors in Under the Dome, Dale Raoul might be the most qualified. She’s got Stephen King credentials, having acted with future Under the Dome star Dean Norris in The Lawnmower Man, which was (very) loosely adapted from his short story. If that is not enough, she also did ADR on The Simpsons Movie, whose story is almost identical to Under the Dome‘s. Well, the premise, anyway.

I think I missed this interview Zack Snyder, Jim Sturgess and Ryan Kwanten interview each other and answer questions from viewers about their movie, Legend Of The Guardians. He tells about a fan writing a 5 page letter asking for sperm to have a baby, see, this is why actors have bodyguards.

Jurnee Smollett Bell talked to THR about how she got her True Blood role for S6-
Much of what will happen during season six of the HBO vampire drama has been kept under wraps, but Smollett-Bell, 26, does tell The Hollywood Reporter that she will play a new character named Nicole, who she says is a “young activist” in town to “help with the cause.”
"There’s a lot of animals, there’s some biting, there’s some blood,” she adds. With the help of her husband, musician Josiah Bell, she taped her audition in the basement of her in-laws’ home. With the show's dark and sometimes-creepy feel, we can't imagine a more appropriate setting to shoot an audition. But Smollett-Bell says it wasn't as appropriate as it seems.“You can hear the running water, the water heater coming on, my nephew’s upstairs, he’s a baby so he was crying, you can hear the chairs being dragged,” she says with a laugh. “So not professional.”
The tape was enough to get her the part as a series regular. Smollett-Bell will make her first appearance in the second episode of season six.
The HBO drama is infamous for its sexy scenes and has never been afraid to show plenty of nudity, but Smollett-Bell says that didn't affect her decision to join the show.
"One thing they do well is it’s not gratuitous and it’s not exploitive. It’s not just for the sake of it," she says. "I think through the arc of my character, you’ll see what’s appropriate and what’s not appropriate, but it’s all coming back to the plot of my character."

HBO confirmed the premiere date to be June 16th, only 10 episodes as previously reported.

Episode 6.06 of True Blood will be called, "Don't You Feel Me," and a nice, gay male vampire is being cast (a guest star). Source: SpoilerTV

TVLine has some casting news!- Spending a year married to Gregory House can turn a woman into a real bloodsucker. Case in point: Karolina Wydra, who played Dominika, the convenient bride of Hugh Laurie’s titular doc on Fox’s House is joining True Blood‘s sixth season as a badass vampire, TVLine has learned exclusively. Wydra’s recurring character, Violet, is described as a strong, sexy, possibly dangerous vamp on par with the Eric Northmans and Bill Comptons of the world.

UPDATE! In another recurring HBO casting, Brothers & Sisters alum Luke Grimes will film five episodes of the upcoming sixth season of True Blood. I hear he would be upped to a regular if the vampire drama is renewed for a seventh season. Grimes, repped by CAA, manager Darren Goldberg, and attorney Dave Feldman, will play Wes, a 27-year-old, sexy, spiritual, compassionate, intelligent, protective, deeply emotional, and guitar-playing vampire who was turned in the ‘70s. The film, written by Andrew Stern and directed by Henry-Alex Rubin, is called Disconnect, and when it opens on April 12 I urge everybody to go see it. I found Disconnect incredibly compelling -- a perfect use of storytelling to vividly dramatize an issue that permeates our lives to such an extent that it's hard to even see. As well as Frank Grillo and Marc Jacobs, the cast includes Jason Bateman, Hope Davis, Paula Patton, Alexander Skarsgård, and Michael Nyqvist.Disconnect -- I'll try to avoid spoilers -- interweaves three stories, each involving characters whose lives have reached a crisis exacerbated by their dependence on technology at the expense of real human connection. There's a couple that has recently lost a baby. Instead of grieving together, they turn away from each other, and lose themselves in online distractions. People Magazine-You can now get a glimpse of Alexander Skarsgard shirtless – without waiting for the next season of True Blood.
In Disconnect, a thriller about ordinary people struggling to connect in today's wired world, Skarsgard, 36, stars alongside Jason Bateman, Frank Grillo, Paula Patton and more. Designer Marc Jacobs also makes his film debut.
Caught in the whirlwind of ever changing technology are Skarsgard and Patton, 37, who play a couple drawn into a dangerous situation when their secrets are exposed online.

ELLE: Is that a real movie?
AS: I don't know. Unfortunately, I haven't seen it. But I'm very intrigued by it. I definitely want to see it. I've heard it's very good.
