Hi hope you all had a Very Merry Christmas
and a great start to a New Year!!

I have not been able to make very many paper crafting projects lately
due to the fact that I am due in 9 weeks!!
So most of my little free time is going into making things for the new baby and taking
care of my stinker above. :)

We had a wonderful holiday spent with family and I just
feel so blessed in my life.
I can't wait for the year ahead-and what fun new things will come.

Just wanted to say a quick hello to my blog friends!

Fall Rosette Wreath

Here is a project we made at a recent class.
It was so much fun to put together.:)
Thank goodness for the SIMPLY SCORED tool!
I love it!

The stamp set I used is HAND-PENNED.
It's in the holiday mini right now and I think it
is gorgeous!

I used a mixture of elements for the centers.
Antique brads
Designer Buttons...they are a yummy chunk-ness of
1-1/2" I might add! And I love that!

pearls & twine.

And for the center of this one below I layered
a brad with a punched out piece of Early Espresso that I
made using the
LACE RIBBON BORDER PUNCH.
Kinda a fun way to use the border punch.

This little guy is a
MINI VINTAGE TAG
I really like these they come in handy!
I used one here
and here
for these projects.

Hope you all are having a wonderful time crafting
and doing fun holiday traditions-isn't this time of year the best!

I whipped these up so quick with some yummy treats!

I have recently had 2 classes.
ONE we made a FALL WREATH using the new SIMPLY SCORED tool!
and TWO a fun CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN/ADVENT CALENDAR

This house was over the top!
So creatively put together but in such a clean and classy way.
And I'm feeling a vintage vibe...
I love it!!
If I could snap my fingers and have my house any way
at Halloween it would look exactly like this house.
How cute!!

This was in our Neighborhood.

I think Mishea is waiting VERY patiently for Kiyah to give her one. :)
And I think my little hoarder is still trying to decide if she wants to.

Here is little Kiyah with her friend Mishea on HALLOWEEN.

Kiyah was a cheetah/cat and Mishea a spider.
But you KNOW we had to have them all frilly still!!!

Maybe these 2 will end up being the best of friends like their mommies!! :)
This is one of my closest friends daughter. They are only 4 months apart.
Ha! And again we are expecting girls and this time only a month apart!
Weird...

But we're not complaning...lol.:)
Nope no!

It was so fun to see them "trick or treating" together.
Except... how do I get her off this treat thing now??

Sweet Stitches Magnet board/Home Decor

Here is a Magnet board I made out of an
old Cabinet door-using the Sweet Stitches fabric.

I used 4 STAMPIN'UP! DIES and my BIG SHOT.

Scallop Squares Duo
Tasteful Trim
Circles # 2
Serif Essentials Alphabet

Since they cut through fabric and felt!!
Love that.

I also love how the button button stamp set matches the fabric.
So I made some mini button magnets
out of the

Button Button Stamp Set
and the Buttons #5 Sizzlits Dies
-with coordinating paper colors.

Here is a mini cupcake pincushion I made out of this fabric too!!
And a tutorial to follow...

I will be showing more projects I made out of our fabulous fabric
for this last Convention.

SWEET STITCHES MAGNET BOARD TUTORIAL

Tutorial:

I found this cool old kitchen cabinet door at an antique shop and thought
it would be fun to use to make a mag board out of it to hang in a sewing area craft room ext...
It's all about thinking outside the box these days right?

This was one of the samples at this last Convention.
If you saw it.

1. I started with the old cabinet door and picked up 2, 12 by 12 magnet board
pieces to fit inside.

2. I randomly pieced together different chunks of the Sweet Stitches Fabric
and looked to see how it would look.

3. Then I sewed them all together with the basic 1/4 inch seam allowance.

4. Once that was all finished and pressed. I placed the applique pieces I wanted to
put on top to see how they would look.

5. I cut out a square of the stitching pattern and ironed on to fusible batting.

6. Then folded the edges over and pressed.

7-8-9. I then added a little piece of FELT from this fabric shop that matched
the Tangerine Tango color very well. I love their selection of felt!
I cut it using our Scallop Squares Duo Stampin Up die.
and pinned some pins into it.
( The felt scallop square I did not sew, I just pinned on).
For the zigzag detail:
I used the Tasteful Trim SU Die
A piece of felt again with iron on adhesive already ironed onto it and cut it out
at the same time so that I could just iron it onto the fabric.
After peeling off the paper backing.

10. I then took an oversize piece of med-heavy fusible batting, and put it over the inside lip of the cabinet
front. Tracing exactly along the line. Then cut along that line.

11-12. Then I just centered the main fabric piece I had quilted. Over the cut out batting.
And centered to my liking.

Glued it all together with trusty-ole super glue and viola!!

Where in the heck have I been?
Well...
I have some good news...and a fun pic to show you of my
sweetheart.
It's also one of my product shots for my Accessory business.
Which has taken up most all of my free time-or "minutes" ha...in a day!

Here is one of my bows and my daughter over summer. She is 16 months here.

K...and for the good news...
We're pregnant again...and it's a girl...again...l.o.l.!!!!!!!

I have spent my whole summer
kinda...well REALLY...sick.
Unfortunately for me my 1st trimesters are so
miserable I tell myself...never again...never again...
Ha! but I know it's not true. :)
there will be an "again" -I just can't think about it
at the time.

So...I'm getting the itch so bad to create!
I'm feeling great now and am past the initial nausea.

I have a long awaited Stampin' Up order coming and some fun classes planned
for the Holidays
and I am just so happy to be able to get creating again!

I have some fun projects I made for Convention samples
( with our SU FABRIC !)
and some highlights of Convention INSPIRATION that I'm gonna catch up on.

Was CONVENTION 2011 a blast!!
I am so excited to share with you some fun projects I have made lately.

This cupcake has nothing to do with convention...but is just something I made that I
have been dying to share with y'all!

WHERE in the heck have I been ( some of you ) might ask!
And have asked me!!!
Ahh...I opened my own (high end couture hair accessory business) that has just
taken off...thus TAKEN UP MOST OF MY TIME.
Which is great! But unfortunately I have not been able to post much on my blog.
My little sweetie keeps me SO BUSY too, that I have just not been able to share on here.
As much as I would like to. :)

I am in such the STAMPIN'UP! mood-you could say...
well...I always am
but seeing all the beautiful projects and yes...we Convention go-ers gotta see
the NEW 2011 HOLIDAY mini catalog!!

And that ALWAYS gets me SUPER excited for projects for future events and
classes I will be holding!
To make fun homemade gifts for the holidays.
OH-do I LOVE our products! LOVE-LUV.

Well I also love our "SWEET STITCHES" fabric!
And so I was SUPER EXCITED to see it carried over into the NEW 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog!

I had this "cupcake pincushion" pattern from Sandi Hendersen
in my stash of patterns...and I've been dying to make it!
It is a super fun decoration I have added to my sewing/craft room.

I used all three fabrics that come in the SWEET STITCHES SU designer fabric.
A little scrap of
another fabric, and some, "chocolate chip" colored felt on the sides.
The stinkin C-U-T-E- pins on top
are (handmade) by an etsy seller...

And I got the felt from my favorite local quilt shop.

this color is sooo pretty.

This card today is the same layout we used recently at my last CARD CLUB.
It is so simple but I love it!

Ahh...Springtime is just around the corner...

Here is the last Scrap book Page I designed for S U Regionals.
It is such a simple design!
I'm pretty sure Shanna and Heather ( some of my girl friends:-and stamp Divas )
will let me get away with saying that I created something simple.
I did. right????
Ha! Anyway...

No but for some reason I love clean scrapbook pages.
Or pages that the picture is the main
focal point at least and everything around it just compliments it.

I used my big shot to cut the card stock and chip board
with the
SERIF ESSENTIALS ALPHABET DIE
I don't want to sound like a broken record to ya'll when I say just HOW OFTEN
I really USE my BIG SHOT!!!
...but then I do...cuz I love it!
Love it love it love it!!

SWEET SUMMER Scrapbook Page

Here is another sample for Regionals-using the Sale-a-bration
stamp set called SWEET SUMMER

Oh this little girl is so cute!
I stamped the leaves and used my
ITTY BITTY SHAPES PUNCH PACK to add the flowers
-Ahh yes... gotta have some dimension:)

I used...

SOFT SUEDE &
BLUSH BLOSSOM...ink

These really are both such beautiful colors.
Now that we have soft suede as a Stampin' Up Neutral I just don't know how we
did without it!
And I love the Blush Blossom for more of
an earthy pink.

I whipped out my sewing machine to make some
stitching.
And added some of the pretty BASIC PEARLS to each little flower.:)
I did spray some shimmer paint on to it too-which you can't see to well in this
pic though, for some pretty glimmer!

SHIMMER PAINT TECHNIQUE:
To do that with the shimmer paint...if you haven't...or didn't know...:)
Here's how...
You mix 3 parts rubbing alcohol to 1 part water in a little water bottle
preferably with a fine mist nozzle...then just drop in some drops of
your SHIMMER PAINT. I use the CHAMPAGNE MIST color ( my fave) and end up putting
maybe 1/4 teaspoon in a little mini water bottle.
( the more you add-the more glittery.)

It sprays onto the card stock and looks sooo pretty.
The point of the alcohol is to help it dry in the air as it sprays so it doesn't
soak your card stock but transports you glitter in a delicate and soft way as
apposed to sponging which is a heavier look.

WHISPER WHITE

I come from a large family you could say. I sure loved it though.
Mom Dad 1 sister and 5...yes 5 brothers. 3. I didn't really like that a whole lot growing up(the brothers)...well I did...:)
-I just wanted a sister sooo bad!! But yay!! I finally got one:) She is the youngest of us 7 kids.
Now it's perfect. Brothers are so much fun! And my sister and I are very close.

4. I love to sew.

5. Same with cooking/Baking. I love it!! But never appreciated the skills I ( COULD HAVE )l.o.l.
picked up more-at home-
growing up until (I NEEDED it) and got married.
Now it is a passion!

6. I nannied for almost 6 years before I got married too. And think it was one
of the most treasured experiences of my life. So much more than a job to me.
(Here is a pic of them.) If you would like to see!

7. I am obsessed with CREATING!
If I feel I need a boost...I know it's because I haven't had any time to create.

8. I also love the SUN. I grew up in Cali and moved here to BEAUTIFUL SNOWY UTAH-ugh...
at the beginning of my Junior year in High School. No I love it here...but prefer warm weather
and cannot WAIT to get out in some warmer weather here soon!!

Bliss Scrapbook Page

This is a scrapbook page I designed for Stampin'Up! Regionals 2011 with the Celebration 2011 Stamp Set BLISS!
It is definitely one of my favorite ones in there...
and this just happens to be my favorite page too!
(-that I sent in to Sampin'Up! For Regionals.)

I like that it is clean but with enough going on to make it shabby and feminine.:)too!
I can't EVER seem to get enough feminine-and this flower trend that's going on ??
Yeah...I can't get enough of that either...

Of course it's always fun with you have a gorgeous model for your pictures too right?

Well almost all of the photos I used for the Artisan and these Regional samples...
were all from my amazing friend/cousin and extremely talented Photographer.
Mandi Nuttal.

I had mentioned how much inspiration I get from Photographers!!
I will be posting a few more samples, and every picture is my starting off point, and what
makes the whole process fun for me.
When scrapbooking...

I used the Bigz TASTEFUL TRIM XL die to cut out the
Springtime Vintage FABRIC!
I love mixing different textures!
And I love the little detail that our BASIC PEARLS add to projects too.
Super Fun!

I am so glad that we have such pretty fabrics now that coordinate perfectly with
all of our:

RIBBONS
BUTTONS
PAPERS

Ahh..makes it a breeze to work with:)

Valentine Card Club goodies!

Here are some more of the fun projects the gals made at my
CARD CLUB!

As inspiration I showed them what they could do with this pick.
I found this vase that said "Love" in different fonts and colors and filled it with yummy HUGS!
Now it's a great little gift! :)to give away.

It is so fun using the Stampin'Up! Treat cups!
Because you can fill them with so many things!!
You can get a pack of 12 for 2.95!
So it makes it easy to use as multiple gifts or as party favors!

Wouldn't this idea be so cute to give little girls with a necklace or ring inside!

You could use any color scheme for any time of year.
In this case I was rewarding my CARD CLUB with a FREE CLASS-so...
I decided to use a new pack of retired d.s.p. that hadn't even been touched yet.

I am "such a sucker" for gifts that coordinate together!
It just makes it that much more fun;)

Both of these projects were made using the
BIG SHOT.

FOR THE CARD:

To cut out the x's I used the NATURALLY SERIF
decorative strip die.
And to emboss those cute dots on the pink paper I used the
PERFECT POLKA DOTS EMBOSSING FOLDER.

To make the hearts you first punch out a heart using the
HEART SMALL PUNCH
and then punch again around that using the
1/2" CIRCLE PUNCH.

To make the brown strip I took a piece of Choc.Chip CARD STOCK
and used the
SCALLOP EDGE BORDER PUNCH.
Then I used my PAPER PIERCING TOOL & MAT PACK
on the top to get the little detail.

FOR THE PICK:

I used the BIGZ DIE
SCALLOP SQUARES DUO
ran that piece through the big shot to get the polka dots just like the card.
You need the 1 3/4" circle punch-that is the size of the treat cup holders;)

SO FUN

Valentine Fancy Favor

Hey ya'll!
Valentines is coming...

-I happen to love it.
K...there isn't a holiday I DON'T LOVE but this is one of the tops!

So here is just ONE of the fun projects the gals made recently at my CARD CLUB.

I used a new stamp set in the OCCASIONS MINI CATALOG
I love it.
It is so versatile and I loove the vintage feel to it.
CLEARLY FOR YOU
It has sooo many cute stamps.

It's not really even a "VALENTINE" set! :)

I used the FANCY FAVOR die to cut my box.
I love this die and use it quiet a bit.

Here's a trick... :) to save on paper. Typically you would assume you would need to use a
12x12 " piece of paper when
you cut this box because the die itself is around 12" long.
But I found you can get away with using an 8 1/2 by 11"
piece of paper instead if you just cut off part of the flap you tuck inside to secure the box.
In other words... because your paper is smaller...
it doesn't lay over that little part left of the flap. So you can conserve paper that way.
Really nice when you need to make a lot!

The roses inside-they are SOAP PETALS!
and smell so yummy. A Bonus since they matched the beautiful BLUSH BLOSSOM CARD STOCK

SUPPLIES:
CARD STOCK: Cherry Cobbler, Blush Blossom, Naturals Ivory.

Ink: The angel was stamped in Soft Suede and then I added a titch of blush blossom to the image inside.
the sentiment was stamped in the coordinating ink color, Cherry Cobbler.

PUNCHES: Full Heart XL, 1" circle Medium, 3/4 circle Medium.

BIG SHOT: Fancy Favor die, EMBOSSLITS DIES Scalloped Heart of Hearts.

EMBELLISHMENTS: 1/2 " Crumb Cake Seam Binding, Basic Pearls.

HELPFULL HINTS:
When I cut the gold waffle paper I used a " sewing" rotary cutter with a scalloped edge & a ruler.
(Just to finish off the edges of the gold paper.)
I was also able to cut through a bunch at a time that way too!

The handle is red "pipe cleaner".

A cardinal Christams CARD

A Cardinal Christams CARD:

I made duplicates of this card to go with the coordinating gifts below
for Christmas
I got the layout from the Idea Book and Catalog.

I just had to whip out this set
One of the reasons is in the story below this post
and the main reason is because I was making this card FOR my
Grandparents in CA, and parents here.
(You know it's funny when
someone you love, loves something so much, it tends to be special to you?)

I have such fond memories of my Grandpa teaching us the names of birds and taking
us bird watching.
Well that passed on to my Dad... and all my brothers
and so I think this set is so beautiful and
has a lot of sentimental meaning with the Cardinal.
Because birds are a love of my fam :)

SUPPLIES:

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Certainly Celery, Always Artichoke, Naturals Ivory.
Ribbon/Embellishments: Victoria 5/8" ribbon , Build a Brad

Hot Cider Pouch Gifts:

I finished these babies literally the week of Christmas...Whew!
These are what I made for Parents and Grandparents
of my husband and I

I love love love this idea and have used it time and time again!

I am kinda sentimental to this set and case from the occasions mini
2 years back...
Why?
Because here's my quick STAMPIN UP! STORY...

I ran across the famous and lovely Mary fish's site while browsing Crafting ideas.
And saw all of the SU products on her site!
I was like what in the heck is Stampin'Up? I love it!
Yes...I have killed all my friends who knew about it and didn't tell me cuz they thought
"FOR SURE"
I KNEW!!!!
Anyway... I got on the site and contacted the closest demonstrator to me.
She sent me the 2009 Holiday Mini
and I was like what in the heck is everything I want all in one place for??
I couldn't' stop staring at the thing!

As I was making pages of my want list...
a couple months later I ran into a girl from my ward or church who happens to be....
Shanna Jensen
( Who is now one
of my best friends). An SU demo as well and my up line now :).

I was in the stamp isle in Hobby Lobby with a good friend and we were gettin stuff to make Valentines.
And Shanna came up to us and said you guys should totally come to my card club!
And there was no needing to talk me into it!
I was there and signed up to be a demo the next class!!

So this is the first stamp set I fell in love/and wanted

So... it will always be "spesh"...

PAPER WREATH TUTORIAL

1. Start with 12x12 inch PAPER. (I use a Carl Cutter and could not live without
one! You can get a good 10 or more sheets of d.s.p. paper cut at a time!)and card stock too!!
(CARL Heavy duty series dc-210/12")
D.S.P. ( NEWSPRINT, DECK THE HALLS, & and retired Old Olive d.s.p.)

2. CUT your 12x12 down to 10x10.

3. CUT that in half 2 directions so you should have 4 stacks of
5x5 inch paper.

4-5. Now...I picked up some very old SHEET MUSIC from a THRIFT STORE.
I needed a filler ( so to speak) To make my beautiful d.s.p. stretch a little. Well okay stretch a whole lot!!!

6. CUT THIS DOWN to the same measurement 5x5 inches. Save scraps! I'll Explain later!

7. I used my BIG SHOT and my SCALLOP CIRCLE DIE
to cut out around 160 scalloped circles. Wowzer!;)
Yes-I just went downstairs where it is hanging and counted for you! :)
I might be off by only a couple he!
With the BIG SHOT you can crank out a good amount a time!! Lovely :)

8. I used smooth card stock too. In CHERRY COBBLER and OLD OLIVE.

9. START ROLLING into a cone.
HINT: I found that just before if I would mist my paper with my water bottle it made it soo easy
to wrap into a cone and kinda stuck to my fingers staying in place better. Nice trick-trust me!

STAPLE AT BOTTOM. Stapling holds better than adhesive is cheaper and quicker!
If you click on Pic to enlarge on No.9 you can see at the bottom of the cone it has one scallop.
I made most of them layered with 2 sheets of various papers.

10. Here is that pic again!

11. See how much larger No.11 is? So all different shapes.
I used a wet strong adhesive to adhere my SU GLASS GLITTER.

12. I alternated with CHAMPAGNE and SILVER GLASS
because I wanted to keep this for a while...and I'd like it to go with both colors at Christmas time.
Plus...I just like the look of the two mixed as well.

13. You betcha I'm gonna whip out my TEXTURE PLATES!!
My favorite-love em! I used the SQUARE LATTICE FOLDER.
then lightly sponged SHIMMER PAINT in champagne Mist to pick up the top
dimension of the embossed paper.

14. I found it was easiest to lay them all down as I went to get an idea of how it will look
And the placement of colors etc...

15. Find what ever you can to trace a circle onto FOAM CORE. (your wreath base)
I picked my foam core up at Hobby Lobby ( craft store ). And I used a cross stitch hoop I had to trace my first circle.
It measured 10" round.

16. Then I took a straight blade or ( you know those things you use to open up packages?
The longer skinny ones?) I used that to roughly cut 2 1/2 inches around that circle for the outer most circle.

HELPFUL HINT: My finished wreath ended up being a 22 inch circle at it's widest point.
And an 8-9 inch circle in the middle.

STOP!! I didn't do 2 things I wish I had.
ONE-you should glue down random scraps you have left over on to the wreath base.
I would have used the sheet music scraps so that you can't see any of the foam core
and so that it all blends and looks nice. Like wrap around the edge a bit.
Especially...if you are hanging on a mirror which I have done. Cool look-very pretty!!
TWO-you should wrap the ribbon ( you choose to hang it with ) around your wreath base FIRST!
BEFORE you start gluing the scalloped cones on.
I did not do these 2 steps-wish I did! That's what happens when you figure it all out as you go!

17. In this pic...like I said, I laid them all out first. Then I placed the hoop I traced my circle with
to see how far out to place them. To give me a rough idea.

18. Dust off that trusty ole glue gun and put that baby to work!
Don't start a big wreath like this without a good package of glue sticks. I went through about a half pack or more.
Start HOT GLUING them all down!

19. LAYER INWARD. I pointed mine a little off here and there so things weren't so perfect and
symmetrical.

Get to desired fullness-And you're DONE!!

Have fun making a gorgeous wreath! These are stunning!!
and so fun to make!

CHRISTMAS PAPER WREATH

YAY check off my "crafty-DO" list of things I wanted to make this Holiday Season.
I just knew when I saw this baby-well...not THIS one but one hanging in the Stampin'Up! building
and all the other GORGEOUS paper wreaths and trees and all sorts of fun things made outta paper
I just had to make one!

I had no clue ware to start though? I wondered is it on a flat piece?
Or a foam wreath?? And I searched and searched on line and could not find
a good tutorial or a free one and so...it was off to figuring it all out myself.
Can't be too hard right? That is what I tell myself each time I start a project.
Bwaaa-! ...Anyway...

So when making this project I took LOTS of pics so I could make a tutorial for
all of you!!
My blog friends!!!

Right now we are off to Family's house for get togethers!!
But when I come back I will have some more goodies
and a tutorial to follow!!

Contempo Christmas Card

I wanted to try something new and fresh-of course
the candy cane d.s.p.was my source of inspiration!
for this card I made recently
at my CARD CLUB!

I Love the GLASS GLITTER.
It has such a cool look to it- I love
how big and chunky the pieces are and how they reflect off the light.

I used the CONTEMPO CHRISTMAS Stamp Set

Polka Dots EMBOSSING FOLDER see...I'm obsessed! he:)
the Belle stamp WHEEL
( I can see using this one for so many different things. So pretty.)
Pretty in Pink 5/8" Satin Ribbon yum!
and the cute little tinsel is the TINSEL TRIM from the mini.

I was surprised at how much I liked this COLOR SCHEME! ( for Christmas.
Pretty in Pink, Baja Breeze, Wild Wasabi, and Very Vanilla.

Very fun and cheery! ;)

OO I just love this set.
The leafs are so beautiful!

This is a close case to the one in the mini-I changed it a bit!
And no I can't get enough of my TEXTURE PLATES!!!

Ahh these are beautiful RICH Fall colors!

This tag was stamped on the Naturals Ivory card stock.
The leaves, after rolling on different ink colors and stamping-
I then went over some areas with my AQUA PAINTER to get a soft
watercolor look-just playing around-having fun right? That's all that matters:)

Any who this is one of my Fall Projects I hadn't got to posting...
been working on lots of fun Christmas things-I will post later!
Having so much fun this Holiday Season-I just love the Holidays!!
I'm just taking it all in!
