      <title>How to clean your trumpet!</title>

<div style="color: #000000; font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; background-color: #ffffff; margin: 8px;">
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Before you begin you're going to need a trumpet cleaning kit, which you could&nbsp;<a href="http://www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/buy/Superslick/Trumpet_Care_Cleaning_Kit" target="_blank">buy online</a>&nbsp;or from any good musical instrument shop near you.</span></p>
<p><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">Here is a fairly good clip for how to clean your trumpet.</span></p>
<p><br /><iframe src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/681ENFKO5ek?wmode=transparent" allowfullscreen frameborder="0" height="417" width="500"></iframe></p>
<p><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">You won't necessarily need two large plastic tubs, a bath is just as good, particularly if you pop an old towel down on the bottom of the bath to avoid any damage to the trumpet/bath.&nbsp; Access to running water (like a shower head) is also useful.</span></p>
<p><br /><span style="font-size: medium;">Reassembly is essentially disassembly in reverse.&nbsp; However, take extra care when puting the valve pistons back in to their casings to have them in the right order.&nbsp; They should be numbered 1-3 so make a mental note of this as you are taking them out at the beginning.&nbsp; Also be sure to use a good amount of oil on each valve making sure they are well covered, more is preferable to less in this instance!&nbsp; The opposite is true of putting the slides back in, when you are ready to do this make sure each slide only has a thin layer of slide grease on it.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">Don't forget, as long as you are gentle with the whole process there is very little that can go wrong and if anything does go wrong the chances are it can be fixed fairly easily!&nbsp; If you're in any doubt at all don't hesitate to call or email me and in the mean time, have fun cleaning your trumpet!</span></p>

	<p><span style="font-size: medium;">If there's one trumpet player I'd encourage you to emulate as a musician it'd be <a href="http://www.wyntonmarsalis.org/" target="_blank">this guy</a> and this is a great place to start...</span></p>
<p><object height="300" width="500"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Amwq43-lrM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" /></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true" /></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always" /></param><embed allowfullscreen="true" src="http://www.youtube.com/v/_Amwq43-lrM&hl=en_US&fs=1&" allowscriptaccess="always" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="300" width="500"></embed></object></p>
<p><span style="font-size: medium;">But of course there's never just one person worth looking up to, so if you know of any other trumpet players you really like let me know via "Comments" and I'll put up some clips of them too!</span></p>
