The sixth entry of a team format video from Forum Snowboards, “Forever” seems destined to once again please the masses. 

Ever since MDP’s, “The Resistance” featured the iconic “Forum 8,” Shed heads near and far get very excited whenever a new release from Forum is mentioned.

Although this short is literally a tease, Viewers should be excited.  With ringers like Jake Blauvelt and Pat Moore (both were runners up for Transworld Snowboardings Rider of the Year) and some fresh talent in Daniel Ek and Niko Cioffi, Forever is bound to be good.

The Idea of a using rope tows for more productive use of parks and pipes has been around for decades.  In the Midwest, places like Highland Hills Ski Area and Buck Hill, have been using rope tows since before they had lifts.Now these same systems, allow groms to get twenty or more park laps in per hour.  This has certainly had a good effect on Midwest riders like Zach Marben(Mack Dawg’s “We’re People Too”) and Ricky Tucker (filming for the Nirto team video). Coming this summer, Windells will be using SunKid’s portable lift technology, moving campers up to 1000ft.

There is no doubt about it, everyone that plans on being around Windells this summer should be excited about the portable lift.  The only questions now are, where will they put the thing? And, when will they be purchasing more of them?

As portrayed in David Benedek and Christophe Weber’s film In Short, the UK shred scene is something out of a skatepark designers drug induced nightmare.  Children dropping in to AstroTurf like carpet laid over grassy Knowles. It makes me happy I grew up riding a stump of a hill in Minnesota (total vert, maybe 500ft). Well, the dreams of many UK grass slashers are about to come true… No more rug burn.  Indoor snow has arrived.

The Snow Centre (no it’s not spelled wrong, it’s just euro) has built a 14,000+ sq. ft. indoor snow experience in Hemel Heamstead, UK.

Using the “latest in snow cannon technology,” The Snow Centre will provide a perfect “alpine surface” every run down. With a 300 ft. long bunny hill and a kids “Snow Play” area, this place is bound to be a great alternative to spending money all day at the mall.

This UK oasis is scheduled to open on May 6th of 2009.  I wonder if any Alps resorts are worried about this place taking away business?  All jokes aside, The Snow Centre will surely be a hit in the minds of many children and families in the area, let’s just hope the business plan is sound.

It makes one wonder, would this be a good idea for any cities in the United States. Or, maybe this is the future of skiing and snowboarding in general… Let’s hope not.
