Organisers of a children's music festival have altered the popular characters and lyrics because of the multi-cultural nature of the youngsters involved and their parents in the audience.

But yesterday Islamic leaders condemned the politically correct move as misguided and said decisions like this were turning Muslims into 'misfits' in society.
If they are so worried about offending Muslims one has to wonder why they are not wearing burqas or head scarves. It would be a shame if the children's parents did show up to watch because they were offended by all the inappropriately dressed women.
Gore bypassing security was no "accident" he and everyone involved knew they were bypassing security but accepted the special treatment as a right of privilege. My guess is someone was about to blow the whistle on the special treatment and spooked the airport into handling this properly. Even as it was they probably did not follow rules because usually in these kind of breaches everyone in the airport is forced to go out and be rescreened while the airport is searched.
Former vice president Al Gore was involved in a security breach at the Nashville Airport when an American Airlines employee led him and his entourage around security, a clear violation of policy.
Personally I don't think airport policy should require these kind of searches. 1. a method of closing a debate and causing an immediate vote to be taken on the question.
–verb (used with object), verb (used without object)
2. to close (a debate) by cloture.
I am seriously getting tired of failed cloture votes being described as a Republican effort to stop debate. When cloture fails that means debate CONTINUES. A winning cloture vote cuts off debate and forces a vote. Someone please explain how Republicans are preventing debate by denying cloture. I see now that some reporters are even getting so uncomfortable with this language butchery they are euphemistically referring to cloture as a "procedural vote".
The 56-to-34 vote in a rare Saturday session was the second time Republicans were able to deny opponents of the troop increase a debate on a resolution challenging Mr. Bush, and it came just a day after the House formally opposed his plan to increase the military presence in Iraq.
One has to wonder how the Republicans have been successful in denying a debate when Harry Reid (democrat) determines what is debated and the Senate seems to do nothing else but debate Iraq policy.
Denying cloture is about 60 senators being able to FORCE continued debate and preventing a final vote. Anyone telling you different is a partisan hack of the most deceitful or ignorant kind.

It gets real hard to have any political discourse anymore when up means down, left means right and good means bad. The deconstruction of political recourse can get maddening. Surrender as victory is now the clarion call of the Democratic Party so I guess I should not be surprised.
As much as they hate to admit it, the globe is always either warming or cooling. The planet does not and never has maintained itself in a static state. Finally, I also know there is not a damn thing we can do about it as long as the best solutions such as massively expanded use of nuclear power are dismissed out of hand.
Don't be fooled.
It's bad enough that a astronaut responsible for the safety of a bazillion dollar space ship hops in the car to go and confront (and possibly murder) the other woman vying for the affections of a man's she had staked out as her property. That happens every day. But you have to be just plain crazy to wear diapers while traveling just to avoid potty stops.
In a search of Nowak's car, police later found diapers that Nowak told them she wore so she wouldn't have to stop to urinate during her drive from Houston. Astronauts wear diapers during shuttle launches and landings.
Is this really what we get after billions spent training and screening these people who are supposed to be our best and brightest, love forlorn astronauts that intentionally wet their pants on the way to committing a possible murder?
We hear daily about the savage slaughter in Iraq. The indiscriminate butchering of men, women and children in the most brutal and bloody way with the sole purpose of getting the biggest and most public body count possible. But imagine the absurdity of a British citizen that feels he would be safer in Iraq then in his own neighborhood back home in Britain.
A MUSLIM soldier at the centre of an alleged kidnap plot may be sent to Iraq — because he is SAFER there than in Britain.

The squaddie, a corporal in his early twenties, was said to be the main target of a Birmingham cell who intended to behead him over the internet.

Last night he was being kept under tight security at an Army barracks somewhere in the Midlands.

And he had agreed with a plan to send him back to Iraq for his own safety.
I have always said we fight them there so we don’t have to fight them at home. For some countries it appears it may be too late.

What the Democrats plan is whining from the peanut gallery. It takes a Democrat to allow troops to die in a war they do not believe in.
