Is this what really young babies see? A garbled randomness of visual data coming in, with no way to interpret or distinguish shapes or meaning? Do you happen to remember?

It seems that kids, especially boys, seem to want to have these glorious and heroic jobs. Firefighters, astronauts, policemen, and doctors. Why is this? Do we impose our intent on them at such a young age that they’re micro-brainwashed? Or, is it that they see them on television and wish it upon themselves?

Why is it that when we grow up, most of us never take on those careers we dreamed about when we were 7 years old, and sliding around on the banana-slide? Is reality really that different from our dreams?

In any case, you can clearly see here that Aidan wants to be a fisherman, and it’s not just because I’m forcing him to be. Really.

They say “you don’t ever wake a sleeping baby.” Who are they anyway? What if there was a really fast sale on diapers and you wanted to run down to get them but you’re the only one home with the baby? Can you wake him then? What do the requirements need to be in order to wake a sleeping baby? If you do wake him, have the milk handy, because he’s going to be starving.

What do babies dream about? They occasionally have nightmeres too. Are they having a dream where the milk fairy runs out of milk and then gives them Coca-Cola instead? Do they dream in patterns that they can’t comprehend, or are their dream interpretation abilities on par with the best of the lucid dreamers?

The lolcat phenomenon has swept the interwebz by storm, as witnessed here, here, here, here, here, and here. Don’t just take my word for it, search at Google for ‘lolcats‘ and you’ll get about 1,660,000 results for it. In brief, lolcats are pictures of cats saying goofy things in a language of their own. Because cats are cute and do hilarious things, catching them on film and putting words to it can be a great experience.

But, ok folks. It’s over! No more lolcats! It’s all about the lolbabies now. That’s right, LAUGH OUT LOUD BABIES! And you’re getting it here… all truth, all lol, all the time.

Eat it up.

It must be really strange to have people grabbing you whenever they feel like it. Certainly a baby has already developed some sense of the levels of comfortableness that he prefers, but very little context around why. The big people (you!) know when you don’t want to be bothered. And, as a baby, all you can do is cry to let people know you’re miserable. After all, how else can a baby say ‘Get your stinkin hands off me bubba!’

Imagine your frustration when all the big people around you address your crying as ‘Oh he must be hungry!’ or ‘Do you have a dirtttty diaper little monkey?’ when you really wanted to shout ‘No, you just picked me up when I was busy looking at the damn dancing cows and pigs on TV and I hate the smell of that stinky lasagna breath!’
