Marske FC

MARSKE travelled to Thornaby for a top-of-the-table clash.

Marske started the stronger of the two and went 1-0 up with an early goal from Jack Barker.

The game then settled down with Marske having the better run of play.

Marske had further chances to increase their lead, but some good saves by the Thornaby keeper kept the score line 1-0 at half time.

In the second half Marske continued to battle well and had a second goal disallowed for offside.

New Marske FC

Reverting to a formation with just two defenders in Naill Askins and Chris Woods, Marton probed for an early goal.

Cameron Watson supported his defenders well when called upon.

Half time 0 - 0.

Marske started brighter in the second half with Morgan Corner coming into the game and Ebrima Camara starting to get a grip-hold of midfield.

Just as Marske started to play, Marton took a deserved lead. Marske lost possession in the attacking third.

MARSKE, pictured below, travelled to Darlington to play Mount Pleasant.

Marske started the stronger and after five minutes Jack Barker broke down the left wing, crossed the ball for Joe Corker to slide home.

This spurred on the Marske side who had two further chances to increase the lead but without success.

Mount Pleasant then got into their stride and started to put Marske under pressure.

The Mount Pleasant team were playing the better football and a long ball over the top was converted to level the scores.

Death probed after Marske paedophile OAP dies in jail

A PREDATORY paedophile pensioner has died in prison - just a month after finally being brought to justice for his crimes.

Brian Milburn was jailed in December for sexually assaulting two young girls in a nine-year spell of abuse which started more than 30 years ago.

The 69-year-old was given a six-year prison sentence at Teesside Crown Court.

He was originally taken to Holme House prison in Stockton but was then transferred to the category C prison Acklington in Northumberland.

Milburn, formerly of Wheatacre Close, Marske, was found collapsed in his cell there last Friday and was later pronounced dead.
