Rats are back...with SEVEN in one woman's wheelie bin

HORRIFIED locals say a fresh rats plague is under way at Skinningrove.

One terrified female resident opened her wheelie bin to be confronted by no less than SEVEN of the hungry rodents swarming inside.

The woman, who works locally and is believed to be in her 30s, prefers not to be identified.

But her plight and that of others has been taken up by local campaigners, long-time resident Tom Evans and Loftus Town Councillor Barry Hunt.

Banjo man Paul tunes up for Saltburn Cliff Lift job

SALTBURN Cliff Lift's newly-appointed engineer Paul Wakeford is planning to be right in tune with his new job.

For Paul, 57, who reckons he now has his "dream post" after enjoying several summer seasons of part-time work on the Victorian masterpiece, will also bring his musical talents to the job - with a spot of banjo playing on rainy days!

Talented Paul, who was a self-employed busker at one time, is delighted to be at the controls of the tourist attraction - and is even ready to offer on-board entertainment.
