Fazahar Mohammedu is on trial for the alleged sex assault on the 15-year-old, which is said to have taken place in his then Middlesbrough home, Teesside Crown Court heard. The red 5 Series car failed to stop for police in the early hours of yesterday. The car then struck railings and a traffic sign in Middlesbrough's Heywood Street at its junction with Ayresome Street at about 4.15am. Fire and lifeboat crews and a police negotiator were called to the 200ft-plus bridge at about 8.45pm last night after the man in his 30s had scaled the bridge and made his way to the centre span. As the negotiator strove to persuade the man to move back behind the safety rails, the Redcar RNLI lifeboat Leicester Challenge 2 stood by. Michael Andrew Morley, of Wellington Street, Middlesbrough, pleaded guilty to robbery at Teesside Crown Court in September last year. He was jailed for four years.
