Gary Bell started up Contender Martial Arts in Norton at the end of last year after securing a grant from the Prince's Trust.

He's now looking for new members, of all ages.

Gary, pictured putting Kai Bell and Luke Pooley through their paces, said: "I try to make the classes different every time so people don't get bored.

They scaled Roseberry Topping 16 times - the equivalent of trekking the first leg of Mount Everest - to raise cash for Norton-based charity Daisy Chain, which Lesley created.

The challenge facing the climbers, members of Teesside Boys' Brigade, was a 17,000ft ascent - the target, to drum up £1,000 towards building a new day centre.

Split into three teams to share the feat, they reached the summit as many as six times each.

Jacob, 14, took part after dreaming up a year-long series of charity events to mark five years since Lesley died.
