Derelict Linthorpe building should be demolished, say councillors

A RUN-DOWN council-owned building in Middlesbrough should be demolished at the earliest opportunity, says a panel of councillors.

Middlesbrough Council's complaints and appeals panel recently heard a plea by Charles and Ruby Willett of Canterbury Grove, Linthorpe for the authority to solve problems caused by the derelict former dairy building in Simpson Street, which the couple's home backs on to.

Hoping for a Frantastic 2009

It seems a very long time since Christmas but with all the hectic build up and trying to find time to relax afterwards I am finally getting round to do another blog.

Francis had an absolutely fantastic time over the Christmas period. He was an adorable lamb in his school's nativity performance and did everything that he should have done right on cue. He felt really proud of himself when we showed the video to him later. He couldn't resist trying to sing to the songs and doing the actions. The whole performance was like a professional showing with dance, music and a lovely background. There was definately lots of proud parents looking on.

When he finally finished school we had lots of activities planned to keep him and his older brother amused.

Middlesbrough Junior rugby

Middlesbrough Under-13s travelled to Durham School and beat them 51-0. Durham started with a grubber kick, Boro fumbled and lost the ball but it was quickly regained and Fezan Mughal show his amazing pace and was in for the first try.

Two minutes later Jack McPhillips hit the ball at speed and scored in the left corner.

Ben Learwood was then rewarded for some penetrating runs and crashed over from a short distance.

Boro pressured again and eventually Danny Phillips got just rewards for his efforts and crashed over from ten metres after hitting a popped ball. All the scores had been wide out and Sam Gaudie had made some very valiant attempts at converting - this was a little nearer but he unfortunately smacked it right into the middle of the left post.
