According to his own mantra, "change has come" - and all over the world the weight of hope and expectation weighs heavy on the man regarded as a political Messiah.

And after an appeal on the Evening Gazette's TS Postcode websites, we found Teessiders were as keen as any to celebrate the dawn of a new era, pictured Sarah Johnson, of Great Ayton, with a lifesize Obama replica in Washington.

Yes we can!

JANUARY 20 will see Barack Obama sworn in as the 44th President of the United States.

Here at the Evening Gazette, we want to know if you have any connection to the man who will lead the World's most powerful nation.

Maybe you were at a rally during his election campaign? Did you meet him before he was famous? Did hearing him say "Yes we can!" inspire you to take an interest in politics and world affairs?

Obama's election in November heralded a new dawn in international relations - tell us what that means to a typical Teessider.

Stokesley offices provide room to grow

STOKESLEY'S £2m Momentum development has taken its first business tenants.

On line marketing business, Gold Star Search, and facilities management firm Anabas, have been based at the Springboard Business Centre - the district council's incubator units.

Now their growth means a move into the authority's newest office development - Momentum. This has been built primarily to provide expansion space for businesses nurtured by Springboard.

It continues the sustainable theme and has three storeys and a subterranean car park built to a high environmental standard.

There is a rooftop wind turbine, underfloor heating, internal solar shading blinds and a system to re-use rainwater. It's also the first of the council's buildings to have a sedum roof.

Momentum has seven self contained office suites and a shared meeting room - and tenants can continue to benefit from support from the Springboard team.

The scheme is led by Hambleton Council, supported by the Regional Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward, and the European Regional Development Fund.
