]]> Hello! Today I thought I would post about my favorite spot in the whole wide world. . . my home! Tuckaleechee Retreat Center in Townsend, TN!

During the winter, Grapefruit and I hibernate in a cozy spot in the office of Elk Lodge, the first building guests come to when they stay at TRC. Since it is such an important place, I thought I would give all of you readers a little picture tour of it. 🙂

Elk Lodge is a great place for large groups to stay! There is a large kitchen and dining area to make and eat yummy food.

We also have very comfy rooms to sleep in.

Elk Lodge also has a cozy living room with a HUGE, wraparound sofa that is great for sitting, talking, or playing board games! There is even a gas fireplace for when the nights get chilly!

Elk also has a large meeting room upstairs. We bears love to play ping pong and pool, even though we aren’t very good at it.

At the end of the day, we love to take some time to enjoy the view! TRC is the best place to live, which makes it a great place to stay. We love having guests! Come and see us soon!

]]> Hey everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic Easter! I know I sure did! Some of the interns took me to Florida with them and it was amazing!!! The sunshine, the beach, the trees, the ALLIGATORS…whoohoo, it was definitely eventful. Sadly, I couldn’t get any of the locals to take my picture while I was there. Everyone was too busy tanning or whatever it is those Floridians do…lol!

Today, Capree and Elizabeth decided to take me to a local park they recently discovered.

This park is beautiful! And it’s located right behind the Blount County Library, which isn’t too far from TRC! We saw so many nice people and neat things there. Everyone was so friendly. The ducks even followed us around the lake as we walked the short trail. My favorite part was being able to “hang out” in one of the trees with the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen! That trip with the ladies was definitely my favorite so far! PicMonkey Collage

]]> Today, we went to the Chocolate B’ar in Townsend. Everything smelled so good! They make all of their treats (with a few exceptions) in house! I really enjoyed looking at the cakes and fudge and other candies. Maybe next time I go back, it will be on a weekend so I can enjoy some frozen yogurt. Yum!

]]> Bear at ViennaToday was a hot day in Maryville and Townsend, about 70 degrees! I got to tag along with two of the interns again as they went around town putting up flyers for the Golf Tournament. They left me in the car the whole time though, so I didn’t get to see how successful they were. And can you believe it? They didn’t even leave a window cracked! My fur coat was beginning to be unBEARable.

Fortunately, they came back and we drove to Vienna coffeehouse for a refreshing drink. Sarah got a blackberry Italian cream soda. Blackberries are some of my favorite fruits. She didn’t offer me any, so I had to grab a quick sip when she wasn’t looking. Elizabeth got a peach smoothie. I sneaked a sip while she was in the bathroom. They were both so yummy! Maybe one day they will buy me something besides water to drink. . . .

band-bearWe sat inside chatting and cooling off in the cozy shop, an oasis from the chaos of life. Not long after sitting, a guy came in with a big upright bass. Then, another guy with drums! We sat with anticipation as they set up their instruments, just waiting to see what would happen next! Soon, they began to play some smooth jazz. What could be more relaxing on a hot day than some live jazz in Vienna?! Afterward, I just couldn’t wait to meet these guys, so I convinced Sarah to take my picture with them. Maryville is so full of random adventures! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

]]> HerIMG953554e I am, once again in the backseat of CBM National intern, Capree’s car. But, Sarah, one of the other interns is with her this time. Ooh, maybe they’re taking me on an adventure!!! And then, I spot them, and I scream enthusiastically, “Aww, DAFFODILS! Can we please stop?” I’m not sure if they can hear me though; I’m quite a little bear….why don’t they just stop?! This is my favorite time of year in the mountains of Tennessee……the hillsides seem to literally SPRING to life with buds and flowers…..oh wait, Capree is turning in somewhere!

Yep, sure enough, after she parks, Sarah comes around to rescue me from this terribly boring backseat and she lets me frolic a little in the beautiful flowers! It’s such a nice day outside; I am extremely thankful that they brought me on this trip with them. I really don’t think I could have suffered through another day on the shelf in the TRC office, jealously watching everyone else just come and go as they please…but, all too soon, I am taken out of my daydream because they’re putting me back in the car, and off we go.

I guess they must have a lot of work to do today. Oh well, I least I got to go out with them and experience the beautiful TN mountain springtime flowers! 🙂
