]]> 100_1849The 2013 Tucson Oktoberfest will be held October 10th-13th, 2013 at the Rillito Downs.  This year marks the 12th year of the event, benfiting Tucson Oktoberfest Charities and Optimist School groups and organizations.  The hours will be Thursday, October 10th, 5pm-10pm, Friday, October 11th, 12pm-10pm, Saturday, October 12th, 11am-11pm, and Friday, October 13th, 12pm-5pm.  Enjoy authenic German food, arts and crafts, and children games.  Admission is only $3 and kids 12 and under are free.  New location – same great experience!

The 2012 Tucson Oktoberfest raises money to support many charitable causes, some are listed hear: 
 
Backpacks:  We provide over 1000 backpacks filled with school supplies.
 
The reading is fundamental program:  We buy books for kids to own at 12 local Elementary schools.
 
Jacket Giveaway:  We provide jackets for children at the elementary school level.
 
Support Sports Program:  We gave Tucson High School Athletic program $1000 to buy sports supplies.
 
Community Food Bank:  The canned food that attendees bring to the Oktoberfest is donated to the Community Food Bank.
 
Grants for Medical Treatment:  We bought and donated medicine for a Child with Cancer.
 
U of A Childhood Cancer Research:  In 2010-2011 the Arizona District of Optimist International donated $10,000 that was used for research.
 
The Oktoberfest facilitates animal Adoption and  Dachshund Rescue.
