Fun in The Sun!

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. Boy have we had our share of sun here in Kansas! Today I am so excited to be sharing this project here at Tuesday Treats.

I am so in love with Echo Park Splash paper collection. I started by taking my matting paper and spray a generous amount of Goosebumps spray on it. This is the first time I have used it. The results are very subtle. But in person, it looks cool. This product is a texture spray that makes it look like dewdrops (if you spray light and far away) or puddles (if you spray close and generously). It only took about 20 minutes to dry.

While my paper was drying, I cut my images from Enjoy the Seasons at 3.0 inches in layers.

To give the pool dimension, I used a small brush and Glossy Accents to fill it in. I love making these kind of details on my cuts.

While the pool water was drying, I stamped some grosgrain ribbon with Pink By Designs Summer Vacation. The sentiment says "Fun in the Sun". I curved the stamp to make a wave effect when I stamped the ribbon. I use Black Staz On.

I mounted the matting and the ribbon to the card base.

Finally I added my assembled images to the card. I find using pop dots makes all the difference in the world with Imagine cuts.

Kick Up Your Heels!

Good morning and let me tell you that I am so excited about my latest toy!

I wanted to share a project using the new Cricut Expression 2. All this week on http://sweetsassydiva.com we are posting projects using all different carts. I chose a newer cartridge that is preloaded on the E2 called Cricut American Alphabet. It is one of 4 that come ready to use.

I used a paper stack my Erin Lee Creative called Cowgirl Up. The cowboy boot paper coordinated well with the boot cut on page 27 of the handbook. And as I hit a really good deal on the paper and received the stacks recently, you know that I just had to play with it!

Aren't the boots on the cardstock just so cute!

I did have to flip the icon on the e2 because it just didn't feel right that the boot was facing the opposite direction.

I decided to flip all the cuts and chose 3.5" to cut all the layers out.

What's nice is that as you prepare to cut your paper, there are drop down menus to select your speed, pressure and depth on the E2. I used 80# cardstock so, I selected the option heavy cardstock.

To assemble the pieces, I used my zig pen for the detailed cuts. Plus, liquid adhesives work better with this paper stack.

I decided to do a note card. The base is a finished 4x4". It's easy to make your own card bases. For this one, take a piece if cardstock and cut down to 4x8". Next, take your scoreboard and score at 4".

Next, I decided to do another cut using the same cartridge.

I decided to cut the two shadow pieces as you see above.

The great thing is that I can easily line up my cutting fields by adding carriage returns and brackets that will give spaces.

Then, if you click on the icon on the lower right hand side that looks like a house, it takes you to the next step.

As you see below, I chose two circles. It will now cut each in their corresponding quadrant.

I used the printed cardstock in the upper left hand side and the scrap piece of dark teal paper in the lower section. You can see it's the same piece that I used for the boot shadow layer.

After the two pieces were cut, I used my ATG scotch tape on the teal layer and placed the scalloped cut on top. It sandwiched the coordinating stash ribbon.

I tied a bow and cut the edges on a diagonal slant.

I adhered the boot to the card and added faux stitching using my white signo pen.

Next, I reached for my stamp stash. I added a sentiment from Unity Stamp Co. "for You".

It's Tuesday - A simple versatile card using the Cricut Imagine.

Hello everyone! I'm Kris and I'm happy to be joining you on this wonderful Tuesday. I have to say I am a proud owner of the Cricut Imagine since launch. I have a new appreciation for this phenomenal machine every time I use it.

I recently purchased all three Snapshot cartridges and they are awesome! For this card I'm using the Nature cartridge. It has some fantastic images on it!

This card is pretty generic and you can use almost any sentiment on it from sympathy, thinking of you, birthday, mother's day, and more.

Let's get started!

To make this card you will need:

Paper - White, light Pink, Pattern paper printed from Lori’s Garden (page 42 left pattern) and Snapshot – Nature Imagine cartridges wild flowers (page 9)
Punches - Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly, Stampin’ Up – Word Window Punch & Modern Label Punch
Ink - Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Worn Lipstick
Tim Holtz Damask embossing Folder
Stampin’ Up – Teeny Tiny Wishes Stamp Set
Seam Binding in Light Blue
WR Memory Keepers Corner Rounder
Pop Dots
Glue Dots
Tape Adhesive
Cuttlebug, Sizzix Big Shot, Vagabond, or other embossing machine

To get started, print and cut your pattern paper on your Cricut Imagine. I used the proportional rectangles found in the stock images on your Imagine. Select the 5:7, set the size to 5. This will give you a 5 x 7 finished rectangle. Flood fill this with the image on page 9 of the Snapshot:Nature cartridge. You will be cutting this image down to it's final size of 3" x 4".

Insert the Lori's Garden cartridge and select the 2:3 rectangle on the stock images. Set the size to 2 and flood fill with the image on page 42, left hand side. This will be used for the Butterfly and Sentiment.

Trim the flower pattern paper to it's final size of 3" x 4". You can use this size image to make 2 cards. I used the left side of the image for my card. Round the corners with the 1/4" side of the corner rounder.

Cut a piece of light pink paper 3 1/8" x 4 1/8" and round the corners using the 1/4" side of the corner rounder. Adhere the pattern paper to the pink and set aside.

Stamp your sentiment in Worn Lipstick and punch out using the word window punch.

Adhere this piece to your pattern paper first

Then punch out with the modern label punch.

This way you aren't fighting to get that little piece of paper perfectly centered on the modern label!

Add pearls to the ends.

Punch the butterfly from the pattern paper from Lori's Garden.

Using the Tim Holtz Damask embossing folder, emboss the front of the card base.

Everything is ready for assembly.

Adhere the flower pattern paper to the top center of the card.

You want this towards the top so the sentiment fits below.

Roll a glue dot to form a barrel shape and apply to the body only of the butterfly.

Adhere to the top right corner of the flower image and carefully bend the wings to add dimension.

Add seam binding to the fold side of the card and tie a bow at the lower edge of the card.

Add the sentiment using pop dots below the flower image.

The finished project. These are very easy to do and take almost no time to complete.

Good Morning!
This is Pam today with a layout.
I have recently started liking layouts and for the very first time decided to make my own sketch and play. I have never followed a sketch before in all the 4 - 6 layouts I made and just went as my brain dictated. But I decided that this time I would make a sketch to follow. I did change many elements but for the most part stuck to it. I am quite happy with the way the sketch and the layout turned out.
Here's a simple sketch I made

I have used cartridge baby steps and the title is from Calligraphy collections and Plantin school book. Oval is from George and the labels are from Lacey labels lite. The paper ribbon is from MS elegant cake welded repeatedly. The pattern paper on left is from K&Company and the right one - the blue dotted one is from my mind's eye.It is so shiny and lovely! The solid papers - yellow, orange and blue are from DCWV and the green bits are from pack papers I got from Michaels (it was all pastel shades cut in different sizes and stacked up for 3 dollars)
Now I felt the embellishments - babies and the bowl cup and even the title was too small to cut properly as title was about 0.8 - 0.9 inches. Even though the baby is big the layers was too small to piece. So I wanted to use markers and color them in. So I added the images for marker on one page in the Gypsy and in the 2nd page I added the cutting part. In case of baby- I added the image and used hide and contour to hide the cheeks. In case of cups and bowl I added all layers as a group and then used hide and contour to get rid of portions I didn't need and then placed everything one on top of another to form a whole image. Then on next page I placed the image for cut. Turn on the preview of previous page and you can also note down the x and y and use that to manually place it after zooming to max. So you first put in marker (remember to protect you drawing area while changing marker and blade) and cut. Then DO NOT UNLOAD but RETURN TO DESIGN. Then change your marker for blade and then go to the next page and cut. Same thing for title though in this case I just placed a label shape on the 2nd page.

For the writing for tabs it is my handwriting but I had previously used fontifier and made a font out of my handwriting. I sized it in photoshop to about 10 points instead of 12 as I wanted the sentence to be about 2 1/2 - 3 inches long only . You can of course use word but I like photoshop . I then printed it out and cut it and glued it on to a green cardstock strip and glued it on. Then I colored the pieces . Assembled the layout and added some brads and used some twine and that's a one page layout done :)

60th Birthday Boxes

Thank you for letting me be this weeks guest designer. My name is Flo and I am from New Zealand.
My brother in law was turning 60 and the delema of what to give someone who is 60 but still thinks hes only 30! who had said NO PRESENTS!
I did an online class where we made a star box and after finishing the star thought the same principles could be put to great use with any shape. I was right and I came up with this box in the shape of a 6 and an 0. These are proper boxes that I filled with mini chocolate bars for him. I often find it hard to think of presents for men but this went down a treat and was so easy to make with the help of the cricut.

This is the 60 boxes together.

This is where I have taken off the lids so you can see inside. There was chocies inside by the time they got to the recipient.

How I did the '60' boxes
What I did was cut out my 2 numbers the 6 and the 0 (zero) on my cricut expression using the Cricut Mickey Font cartridge using shadow at 5.5 inches.
Using Cricut design studio (my Gypsy had just got sick :-( , (but it is well and working again now) I cut a 6 and a 0 (zero) in DSP (that comes from a stack I have in my very large stash) and another 6 and 0 in DSP that had the centre holes hidden on hide contour (this was for the bottom). I did the same cuts again in plain cardstock.
I then cut the sides for the boxes (in DSP) deciding that I would have a slightly shorter lid than bottom to the box so cut the lid sides at 1.5 inches and the sides for the bottom at 2 inches. The length (ahh this was a challenge).

This is the long side of the paper used for the side with the top scored, and this is the 6 (looking at it backwards)

I started by scoring along the long side of my paper for the sides, at 1/2in.

I then marked the length of the top of the 6 (I have marked it in pen in the drawing above), I scored vertically the side of the top of the box so I would know where it needed to be folded and maked the point where the acute angle of the 6 was (that's the sharp angle). From there I cut 1/2 in cuts the length of the side strip into the strip to where the score mark was. I then glued the edge to the top of the plain cardstock. When the paper ran out I just added another strip till I had the outside completed.

When I had the side glued to the top of the box I then added the plastic onto the hole in the top of the box and added the DSP 6 to the top on the outside then on the inside it has a nice tidy finish and on the outside it looks good too. I then did the same for the zero.
I cut tools out of the Cricut Lite Handiman cartridge on the imagine using colours from the Snapshot texture cartridge. I cut them 1.7 - 2in in size and layered them. The ladder side is so thin I wondered how it had cut so well but it did. The saw has a little jagered edge just like a real saw has.

I finished it off by added a two tone brown ribbon round the base of the top of the box, again I had this ribbon in my stash.

Recipie for one number
Cut two of the number from plain cardstock and 2 from DSP (designer series paper)
For the top side measure how long you want the side depth and add 1/2 in or 1cm to this measurement. Cut strips of DSP enough to go around the number you are doing. You can join these side pieces especially if they are in patterned paper as the joins don't show as much or you can camoflage the joins with cutouts ie like the tools.
For the side of the bottom do the same. I made the bottom side of the box bigger than the top so the top sat up a bit.
When I put the sides on the top I did this so the cut pieces were over the top of the plain cardstock and then I glued the DSP number over the top to cover the side cuts that glued to the top.
With the bottom of the box I glued the sides to the number so that the cut pieces were on the top of the plain cardstock and then placed the DSP inside the bottom so it again covered the cuts that were glued.
I did make the top and the bottom exactly the same size as it easily squishes together.
I would suggest that if you would like to do something like this practice on scrap paper to see how it works.
I loved the final result and so did my brother-in-law, he didn't like being remined he was 60 so I suggested he turn the numbers round and become 06 then someone suggested he was lucky it wasn't the other way round showing a 9.

Mother's Day Layout

Hi everyone. My name is Yolonda and I am so excited to be this weeks guest designer on Tuesday Treats. I had a great time last year and I'm happy to be back.

For my project this year, I made a layout. It is inspired from the Cricut "Ultimate Creative Series - Scrapbooking for Everyone" dvd, Mother's Day Layout. I absolutely love the series, it is chocked full of great ideas.

I used the Gypsy to make this project, but it is not necessary. The project can be made just using the Expression or the Imagine. I chose to use the Imagine since I didn't have any of the papers on hand. Using the Imagine pattern cartridges makes it so easy. You have all of the papers you could ever want.

Using the Audrey Imagine cartridge I printed a whole sheet of the black and white pattern paper.

Using the Imagine More Cards Imagine Art cartridge I printed a whole sheet of the pink pattern paper.

Using the Ultimate Creative Series cartridge (Bonus 2) I cut the large Filigree at 4 inches in black and the 2 smaller Filigrees at 3 inches in black. I also cut the phrase Mom at 3 inches in white. Don't worry if you don't have the Ultimate Creative Series, all of these cuts are also on the Mother's Day 2010 Seasonal Cartridge.

Using the Elegant Edges Circut cartridge I cut a swirly frame at 7.5 inches in gray.

Once everything was cut. It was time to assemble it.

Birthday Fun with Create a Critter!

Hello Everyone!

I am so super excited to be today's guest designer on Tuesday Treats! I had so much fun last year and am so happy that they asked me to do it again!

Today's project is a SUPER SIMPLE card I made for my daughter's upcoming 11th birthday party. She is having a "puppy" themed party. Fun!

I cut the poodle from Create a Critter at 3 1/2 inches. The layer was cut at 4 x 5 1/4 and then I punched the bottom. The black base was cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. The zebra paper was cut at 4 x 2 1/2 inches.

The Poodles of Laughter is from More Punny-licious by My Pink Stamper Original Stamps. One of my favorite sets!

Megaly mass produced these cards!!!

Funky Mini Album

Hi everyone! This is Elizabeth form 217 Creations. I love projects that cost next to nothing! I hope you do too! Today I am the Guest Designer here at Tuesday Treats. I made this fun and funky album from a $1 photo album from Walmart. Here's how!

I started by removing the covers front and back. I hand pleated the binding side to add some depth. This ribbon is actually from Michaels' Halloween department- I knew I should have bought another roll!

Next I used the covers to trace on the backside of my paper the dimensions of my covers. Because the album is see thru on both sides, I cut covers for both the outside.

And the inside. All the paper is used for this project is from DCWV Street Lace Collection. LOVE IT!!!!

I stamped the sentiment "You Rock" from Pink By Designs Enjoy the Journey collection.

I attached the front and back covers together with ATG tape. Then I cut this beautiful lace from Paper Lace at 4.06 inches.

I slid the covers into the pockets and embellished the front cover with a boa. The butterflies are from Paper Lace. I cut the butterfly and its Shadow at these sizes (real size off): (I attached all the cover embellishments with hot glue)

1.12 inches

Next I cut my inside pages at 4x6. I cut a toal of 36 4x6 sheets to fill the album.

I love all the dimension this project has! I used about 7 sheets of paper form the stack- not even 1/4 of the stack.

These would make the best favors for birthday, parties, weddings, graduation, etc. It took more time for me to type this post than it did to make this album!

Glittery Hello Birdie

Hello everyone!! Magoo here, it's been quite some time since I've shared anything on Tuesday Treats. It's nice to be back - I missed everybody :) Today is a fluke, for you see I'm also scheduled to do a post over at She's a Sassy Lady today. Seeing as I was really pressed for time due to family commitments, and I wanted to post something here too, this is a cross post of my project on SASL.

Now on with the show....I'm not sure why - but for some reason birds came to my mind while I was thinking of what to make for this post. Don't be alarmed - Chester was not harmed or used in the making of this tutorial.

And this is what we'll be making today:

Cart info:
To start with this card gets all of it's interest from the use of many layers. I used cuts mainly from Cindy Loo and used Plantin Schoolbook for a circle that was used.

Size Info: the overall size of the card is 5" in diameter - but this doesn't include the leaves that extend on the right side. So it's just a tad wider than 5".

Where to begin? Well I'll start with a screen shot of page 1 on my gypsy. Since that is what I started cutting first I will show you how I laid it all out on the first layer:

As you can see I have quite a bit going on here, but it's not so bad. I know that the leaves on the left side are what I'm planning to layer on TOP of the leaves on the right. Why the circle attached to the leaves? The tree branch image (bottom left) leaves quite a bit of negative space underneath and I wanted it to be white, so by welding leaves onto a circle not only does it give me a white background (no matter what colour I choose for the base of my card), but it also gives my 2nd layer of leaves a sturdier base when I glue them on. I have hello welded together 5 times as I plan to glue them all together to give it a 'chipboard' effect when I attach it to the card.

Onto to layer 2-
As you can see I've welded 2 of the same image together to make the base of my card. Before I welded anything together I used my Hide Contour feature (found on the the advanced tab) to hide every single cut on the inside of the image. Then I simply copied and pasted it, then grouped and welded them together. I did this so that my image I want to layer on top will line up perfectly with the scallops on the base (the image on the top right side).

This button with the two little gray arrows is the HIDE CONTOUR button. Have your image selected then touch on this button.

It will then take you to this screen where you can use the metal button on the left to 'scroll' through all the cuts on that image. The cut you are currently on is highlighted in red on the screen, when you want to hide it, simply touch the hide button and it will be grayed out.

Here is an example of the great purpose of HIDE CONTOUR. Instead of wasting a lot of paper just to cut out the BIRD, I used hide contour and hid most of the cuts. Instead of using 5" of paper, I used closer to 2" cool isn't it?

Now that I have my card and all of it's many layers all figured out and laid out on my Gypsy, I've gotten my mats ready with paper for cutting. I always make sure to check which way my arrow is facing!! very important. I've wasted a lot of paper putting the mat in the wrong way.

On the left is the paper for the base of my card, the top right will be for the top layer, the gray square is for my little birdie I want to layer on top of the patterned paper for more dimension.

Here you can see my circle with the leaves attached (this is to go underneath the patterned paper circle). The top right is my leaves that I will use to layer on top of the white base. And all of my hello's.

The birdie needed a little bit of trimming - no problem get your x-acto knife out and make a few tiny cuts and the bird is free!

Next I glued all of the Hellos together. You can use a xyron machine or just plain glue - I used Scotch quick dry for this and it worked great. However, when applying glitter to the top layer I swear by my xyron machine for glitter. Remember - FACE DOWN!! through your purple sticker maker. Peel it away and pour your glitter all over. Give it a tap and set it aside.

I moved on to the birdie since I had my xyron machine out. I ran it through the machine and then dumped a whole lot of micro beads onto a lid and put my birdie sticky side down into the beads.

Again because my xyron was out and I knew I wanted to glitter my leaves I ran my leaves through the xyron as well. I had originally planned to glitter them green - but it just wasn't going with the paper. So I dug out a colour of glitter called Hemattie (MS). I peeled off the xyron wrappers and poured glitter over top, then I took a plain piece of paper and pushed it down on top squishing the glitter down onto the cut. Tap off the excess and set the leaves aside.

I dug out my cuttlebug and ran my white layer through it just to give it some interest beneath the pattern paper layer. I purposely left the leaves out of the folder so they would remain flat, this would make gluing me glitter leaves on so much easier.

Using my ATG I stuck this layer onto my card base. Then using cats eye ink I inked the edges of the card in a dark blue.

Then it was time to stick those pretty glitter leaves down, I swiped some atg glue on the 'base leaves' and I gently stuck my glittered ones on top.

Once I had those positioned correctly it was time to put my pattern paper cut out on. Before I actually stuck this cut onto the base of my card I took this time to put my birdie on. I used Scotch quick dry again and that stuff really does dry fast!

Now for this layer I really wanted it to stick out so I used a whole bunch of pop dots...... here, there, everywhere :) Then peel off the backings and turn it over and carefully line it up with the scallops and gently push it down.

Then I grabbed my glittered blue 'hello' which I forgot to take a pic of for some reason :( and found a place where I liked it best stuck it onto the top of the card. Like so....

I still found the card a bit blah, can you believe that even with all the glitter? So I dug out my dollar store gem stone stash and found some gems that matched my colour scheme and alternated the colours around the scallops. The blue gem for the birds eye is an I-rock gem and I used my I-rock to set that one on all the micro beads. It's still holding up great :)

Baby Love Box

I am making for you a wonderful gift or home decor item for yourself.

How many of you love the new trend of shadow boxes or painters trays? Sometimes finding them can be hard, other times trying to fit what you want in them can be difficult due to the pre-made sizes of the boxes, and then of course you have the cost. The following item that I have made is one that I think a parent would love to put in a nursery, but what do you do once the child is a little older? Put it in a box and store it? For how long? You don't want to throw it away because of the cost but it just doesn't fit in a childs room any longer.

Problem solved!!!!!!!!!!!!! An awesomely cute nursery item, low cost (total supplies $3.50) and very lightweight so you have no fears of hanging it above a crib, because if it falls it will not injure an infant.

Now what makes this so cheap? it is made entirely of paper and foam board that is 2 large sheets for a dollar.

Start by deciding what Cricut cuts you want in the box, the lay it out on your Gypsy or DS and getting a rough measurement of the size box you will need. Cut the bottom and sides from foam board.

I cut mine at 9x20 and 1 inch for the sides. Glue together with a strong glue, Beacon's 3n1 works great as it is very strong but does not eat the exposed foam.

Then you will need to pick out papers for your background and cuts. Make and assemble all your Cricut cuts, mine were all from the BABY STEPS cartridge and almost all were cut at 3 inches to keep it simple. The banner is cut from MS All Occassions cart at 1 inch. Once you have them all cut, you can layout them out for placement and cut background papers to size

you will notice that the background papers do not line up touching, this was because I had intended to add foam pieces as dividers in the sections (but one lovely child decided to grab the last of my foam board and make drumsticks out of them) not to be doomed though I came up with another idea.

I cut a piece of heavy cardstock, at 1 1/4 inch wide, and scored at 1 inch the placed alternating cuts, I used this to slide under the background pieces and adhere to the foam board and then adhered the background paper in place starting with the 3 horizontal lines, then moved onto to placing the smaller ones between the vertical openings. Finally placing the cuts in with large glue dots.

Finally finishing it off by cutting strips of coordinating colorstock at 2.25 inches and scoring at 1 inch, 1.25 inch and 1.5 inch to cover the rough edges of the side walls.

Then I added a few ribbons at the top, some cute buttons on the bottom corners to cover where the corners were a bit "messy" looking.

You can see in this picture how light it is as it is just sitting on top of this picture frame, and in the second picture it is holding (after 4 days so far) by just two glue dots

You will notice the large empty box in the lower left, this will be used for a banner with the birthdate, once we are SURE of that date.

Tuesday's Misted Sassy Canvas

Hello everyone.  It's me again, Cher, from Cheryl's Window and I am really excited to share my project with you today, and I'm going to share it with you with a mini blog hop.   Today, I am so honored to be a guest designer at She's a Sassy Lady as well as at Tuesday Treats. My assigned dates just happened to coincide, so with the OK from both Sheila and Pam, we decided to make this a little fun and turn it into a mini hop, basically a bounce!

This was an exciting project for me to create and I truly hope you find some inspiration from it.   It all started because I was really drawn to some of the popular subway art out there, but I knew I wanted to do something just a little different and I wanted to add some color and pop.   I was able to achieve this with my Gypsy, some vinyl, a canvas and some Glimmer Mists.

So bounce around these three blogs today to see my final project come together.

We will start here at Tuesday Treats with my design work.

I started with an 8 x 24 canvas purchased from Joanns Fabrics. Did you know that their everyday canvas is now always 40% off? I see more canvas projects in my future.

Using my Gypsy, I changed my mat size to 12X24 and then created a rectangle using REAL DIAL size and sized it to be just slightly smaller than my canvas at 23.50 x 7.75. This rectangle base became its own layer for me to create the remainder of my design within.

My next layer was designed to be my background. I just chose random images I had available on my Gypsy that I was drawn to. I sized them as desired and rotated them into position to fit on my 'canvas'. I chose images that I thought would work well as stencils. You'll see why soon.

The next layer were the words that were all about me. I did ask for some opinions from those who know me best, and these were some of the words that we felt best related to me. I chose to use different fonts from different cartridges as well as sizing these all at different sizes. Some were more suited to welding. Some words were stretched wide or tall. They were all rotated to fit on my canvas once it was turned portrait in rotation. The kerning was also adjusted on many of these so that, agan, these would fit in the desired 'canvas' template. It was fun playing through all the cartridges and looking at fonts I haven't used in a long time. To speed this up just a bit, I did choose to only view LINKED CARTRIDGES while designing. I didn't use any fancy Gypsy techniques here at all and since this would really be a personal project, yours would have different images and different words, I haven't even linked my Gypsy file. I hope you are inspired to use the ideas behind it though and create your own.

So, the design work is done. Now, it's time to start cutting some things out and putting my project together. So, follow me over to She's a Sassy Lady to see what comes next.

Vintage Amore Mini Album

Amore=Love, which describes exactly how I feel about this mini. I simply love it. This is Elizabeth from 217 Creations. I designed this on my Gypsy back in September. And that is where it stayed until I got request from my mom to make her a romantic mini album that had pockets.

For this project I made two videos. The first one shows the details of the mini. The second is how I made the file and how to use the file. I still made a tutorial for those who cannot view video and to show close ups.

DETAILS ABOUT THE MINI

HOW TO USE THE FILE AND MAKE YOUR OWN

I like to make minis using the creative features on Cricut cartridges. So even though I used French Manor, this technique could be used for almost any Cricut cartridge. The pages of this file are all made using the card feature. I used Hide Selected Contour (HSC) to "erase" the scoremarks. This left a flat beautiful cut for each page. All the printed papers are from Webster's Pages Petite Papers.

I also used HSC to "erase" the main cuts to make a Blackout Image for each page that had a silhouette cut. I also used this same Blackout to cut the chipboard for the base of the mini. Once all the pieces were cut, I began inking. All the pages were inked using Aged Mahogany Distress Ink. The chipboard was inked using Chestnut Roan from Color Box.

I used my ATG to adhere all the pages together. Once the page was assembled, I used the Zutter Ditrezz-It-All to fray the outer edge of the chipboard covered pages. Then I coated the frayed edge with Chestnut Roan again. Next I used the 7 Gypsies Binderie to "drill" my two holes for the binder rings. My original design was going to be bound using the Cinch, but as I kept adding goodies it was apparent that it was too thick. So I dug in my stash for rings.

All I could find were brightly colored ones. I used Wild Plum and Pitch Black Alcohol Ink to tint the rings.

While those dried, I went work on the pockets. I like to make minis that allow room for pictures and journaling, so pockets are a must. I used the library pockets from Tags Bags Boxes and More.

I made them in two different sizes, to add variety and to compliment the beautiful paper and cuts.

To make the cover, I traced my chipboard cuts onto canvas duck fabric.

I used Glimmer Mist in Pashmina and Pomegranate and Gold to tint the fabric. I then used a Mushroom, Lettuce and Shell Pink Paint Dabbers from Ranger to add some depth. To adhere the fabric to the chipboard, I sprayed the Crafter's Companion Permanent (Red Can) to the fabric and then laid the fabric on the chipboard.

I used my iRock to bling out several of the pages. I have only uploaded a few pf the pages since this mini is quite large. The last step was to feed the pages into the rings and embellish. I love the freedom minis give me to embellish. I can use all sorts of goodies from scrapbooking to altered items to jewelry.

One of my most favorite parts of this mini is this stretchy band from Anna Griffin that I used to wrap around my album. I used E6000 to adhere the Melted Satin Rose (CLICK HERE FOR VIDEO). I "dirtied" the strap with Pumice Stone Distress Ink.

The Top Note shape on the front of the mini is from Pink Paislee. These are awesome uncolored shapes that are almost plastic like. I used Worn Lipstick and Stormy Sky in Distress inks and then used Lettuce and Shell Pink in Paint Dabbers to tint and color the shape. The "AMORE" letters are form the jewelry section of Michaels.

All the ribbon is from my stash. The beautiful pink rosettes are form American Crafts. I tied a tassel around the ring.

Valentine Shaker Post It Holder

Hi everyone! It's Allison from Goody Bag Diva and I am thrilled to be here for the first time at Tuesday Treats! Thanks so much to Pam for having me!Today I have for you a little Valentine's gift for your colleagues or maybe even to leave on that special person's desk this Valentine's Day.

This project combines two of my favorite things - a shaker card and a post-it note holder. It uses only two cartridges - George and Basic Shapes and this beautiful scalloped heart was a hidden treasure I found on Gypsy Wanderings.

I began with a rectangle from George - the first step was to unlock the width and height and turn on the real dial size button. Then I set the dimensions at 7.75 width and 3.50 height. After cutting, I scored at 3.5 inches and 4.25 inches. I also used an exacto knife to make two little slits for the pen.

Then I began to work with the top layer of patterned paper that would have the heart cut-out. Before moving on to the heart, I selected another rectangle from George (and keeping Real Dial size on plus width & height unlocked) I made it 0.50 width and 3.50 height. Then I copy and pasted it three times, rotated two 90 degrees and formed a square with the four rectangles. In case that sounds confusing, take a look at the picture. Now don't forget to lock the width and height button before moving on!

The scalloped heart is under the tag function on Gypsy Wanderings (2nd row, 8th button). It is at 2.71 inches high, and I centered it to slightly overlap in the inner square formed by the rectangles. Then I welded all of the shapes and also grouped them.

For the center of my layer, I used the shift key which is the scalloped heart with a center cut out.

Then I used the hide contour feature to hide the scalloped line.

I sized it at 2 inches.

Then I moved it over to the center of my group. It does NOT need to be welded because I want the heart to be cut out.

And just to make sure I was doing it correctly, I always check with the preview button.

The final step before assembly is to cut out a final top layer in red of the scalloped heart with the center cut out the same size as my original heart (2.71 inches). I also ran it through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots folder.

For my layer of clear plastic, I use the clamshell from my cricut cartridges - whenever I get a new one, I simply cut apart the clamshell and save the pieces of plastic. They are perfect for shaker cards! I just cut a square at just under 3.5 inches high using my paper trimmer. Then I adhere it to my top layer suing ATG tape and then back with Scotch two sided foam tape.

Then I carefully fill the center with some Martha Stewart heart glitter, peel the plastic off the tape, and lay down the front cover of the holder on top. Don't forget to add the top outlined heart layer to the front.

Then I added a little pen I picked up at Walmart and adhered pink post-it notes to the inside and my little gift is ready to go!

Hey Fish Lips!

Hi! My name is Michele from greengirlscraps. This is my first time on Tuesday Treats and I am very excited to be here! I wanted to share something that I do for titles and other words on my pages. Often times, I want to use my Cricut fonts but I don't want to deal with gluing all of those letters down! So I'm going to show you what I do instead.

This layout is from one of our many fishing trips last summer. My family LOVES to be on the boat. Our youngest daughter is 1.5 at the time and we taught her to kiss the fishies before we toss them back. Sometimes she would do it and sometimes she wouldn't, but it was always fun to play the game! :)

First, I design my titles on my Gypsy. Here you see that I created my title and my two sub-titles, I'll call them. This font is Pooh Font, Marker style.

I make sure when I type out my titles that I type the entire thing at once: "Hey Fish Lips!". This is probably the only time I ever use the space key on the Gypsy but it really helps to keep everything lined up. I then use the kerning and the arrows to move everything to be perfectly spaced. For this particular title, I also slanted it 0.20. I've found that when you slant your letters, you have to go back and fix the spacing more often.

Here, the yellow highlighted circle is showing you the tilt of the letters at 0.40. These will form the corners of my page.

Then I cut it out! So that I don't have to deal with all of the letters, I use the negative cut. It's so much simpler to deal with adding in a few dots for the O's and A's, rather than worrying about getting the title straight and correctly spaced out. I know this won't work for every layout but for some, it's perfect! I cut this with my Imagine, as I find the cutting is so much more accurate. Here are the letters cut out (which I won't be using):

I chose another paper to glue to the back so the letters are still another color/paper choice. Here you can see the back of one and the front of another.

One more Gypsy item that I'm sure most people are aware of but if you are just cutting with the Imagine using the Gypsy, you can still place the paper wherever you want on your mat. Here I put my Gypsy in the middle of the mat to show you how I lined up the layers of the fish I was cutting and the fishing pole (both from Camp Out Solutions cart). Like I said before, I think the Imagine cuts with more precision than my Expression and I love it!

From there, it's assembling the layout as you normally would! Here are a few details of my project.

I tore the title and subtitle paper to make it not so linear.

I used Glossy Accents on the fish to give it some dimension and some slimy scales of course!

I wound fishing line around my fishing pole and, although it's hard to see it in the pictures, the line goes from the pole and catches the fish's mouth!

Tuesday Treats 1-11-11 Wicked Birthday Card

Hello everyone, this is Jenny from Jenny K Scrappin Addict at http://kozfam5.blogspot.com (I really could not think of anything too creative with the name so this works - hahaha!!). I am new here to post at Tuesday Treats and was just so excited and yet nervous. The ladies that post here are just so talented and I have learned so much so I wanted to share my craftiness as well.

My project is a Birthday Card for my daughter. The last couple of years for her Birthday we have decided to see a Broadway Show and go to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner (YUMMO!!!). We are going to see Wicked this year and I wanted to make a card to match the poster for the show.

I laid this all out on my gypsy and there are really not that many cuts. Here is a picture of my gypsy girl:

See - just 5 cuts. I will provide the complete recipe below.

And here is my finished card:

I used 4 different cricut cartridges here:
Base Camp for the lettering (cut at 1 inch with the layer)
Sentimentals for the hand (cut at 1 and I also removed the envelope)
Mini Monsters for the hat (cut once at 4.35 and then flipped and cut again)
Forever Young for the faces. I used the Emblem feature and hit the circle on my gypsy so that only the faces were cut. (cut at 3 once and then flipped and cut again) For this cut I removed a flip on the front of the hair and the neck.

On the lettering and my background paper I used the Distressed Cuttlebug folder. The background paper is from the K & Co. Seasonal paper pack. The green and black paper are from TPC and the white glitter paper is DCWV. I used Black Diamond stickles on the black hat. The feathering on the hats are boas that I cut down and then glued (I saw Emma on My Creative Time do this on a CUTE card she had made previously and knew I would be doing this at some time). I used the Martha Stewart Drippy goo punch and some black ribbon from my stash.

Well I hope you enjoy my card - my daughter will actually be getting this today 1-11-11 as it is her Birthday! Happy Birthday Amanda I love you!!

Chicago Snow

Hello everyone, this is Sheila from Shes A Sassy Lady and I just love when I get the opportunity to come and visit and share with all you Tuesday Treat ladies. I always find it a challenge as there are so many talented ladies that share their designs here!

Well here goes... last month we went to Chicago to visit my daughter and of course it snowed in. Being fairly new to the south we took plenty of photos as our new southern friends just don't realize what real snow does and what the folks up north do to get rid of it. A prime example is shoveling.... if it snows in Alabama, you just leave it and as soon as the sun comes out it disappears, so maybe it lasts a couple of hours. Not so up north, as many of you can attest to so we took photos of the tasks that we what to remember so we never get the urge to go back up there!!!! (Sorry Heather). This is my brother in law Greg busy at hand shoveling the walk before church!

And the plow we saw while driving to Heather's house and it was just so amazing as the whole area was so peaceful and serene just like you read about and see in movies... then out of no where one of these huge plows appear just pushing ans scraping the snow away and making so much noise it actually hurts your ears.... Yup that's what my pages are about... the beauty and the beast of a Chicago Snow!

I hope you enjoy this video, I will show you how I took a layout I did and altered it to fit the photos at hand. I went from floral to frosty, to a blistery wind. Hope you learn a few Gypsy tricks.

This is the yummy paper I chose, it is from My Big Ideas 2009 Christmas papers; I was so excited that I finally go to use this stack.

This second video is actually the third I did but you will find a big mistake in the next video and this one goes over what I did wrong so you don't make the same mistake I did. I am a firm believer that we need to learn from our mistakes! And I am not afraid to share that lesson with you.

This is the white paper I used from the DCWV Glitter stack, I set my blade at 6, pressure high, and speed slow and cut it 2 times.

This is a good video but does show you what I did wrong and also show you how to alter a design.

Before I glue down any of my pieces I really like to just position them and take a good look just in case I need to make an alteration. Sure is easier to do now before gluing.

I used my I rock to attach a little stone to each snowflake. They are so pretty.

Doesn't that look pretty? Those swirls just really remind me of those Chicago winds!

Here is a closeup of the paper and you can see just how beautiful and shimmery it actually is... just like snow.

Let It Snow Layout

I was so happy to get the opportunity to create a project for Tuesday Treats. I decided to do a very simple one page layout. If you are like me you are very busy this time of year and a little short on crafting time... so I wanted to show you how to take a simple layout and quickly bring it to life.

The good news is...you only need ONE Cricut cartridge to recreate this layout. Yep, Winter Frolic is the only cartridge needed. :) To get the "snow" border on the bottom of the page...hand tear a 3"x12" piece of white shimmer or glittered cardstock and ink the top edge in blue.

For the mitten border on pg. 41 of the handbook... design on your Gypsy at 11.69" x 3". To really try and bring them to life...I did not use the layer feature for the cuff of the mittens, but rather embellished them with Liquid Applique and a heat embossing gun. Then added ribbon bows.

The photo mats are the tags on pg. 70...top mat is 6.19"x5" and bottom mat is 6.81"x5.5". Use hide contour to hide the hole in top of tag.

"Let it Snow" on pg. 29 is cut at 31/2" on the Cricut and embellished with Liquid Applique. Snowflakes are the border cut on page 28 at 3.83"x1.66". Cut three of them and layer the flakes. Ink edges and add a little Liquid Applique if desired.

This little snowman on pg. 29 was cut at 41/2" on the Cricut. Then I decided I didn't want the pipe that was originally cut out of the top layer so I did the top layer on the Gypsy so I could hide the pipe. I inked the edges and of course added more Liquid Applique for snow. Glossy Accents help the eyes to stand out and orange Stickles give the carrot nose a little bling. I think that just about covers everything. Thanks so much for looking!

Christmas Ornaments

Hello Gypsy friends! I am Jeanne Lee and you can see me at http://mytinhairmusings.blogspot.com/ A few months ago, Pam, asked for some new friends to come and be guest designers and I signed on...MY First time doing this here! So, with Christmas fast approaching, I wanted to share a very simple project. Lets face it, with only eleven more days till Christmas time is short! I needed some quick ornaments for my Sunday School class to be able to put together so I came up with this one!

Using the Christmas Cart, I turned on the Gypsy and found that #23(counting from the top left) on the keypad was a perfect design.

So I picked the main image for the top of the ornament and then hit the shift key for the under layer. The width 2.96" and 5.71" for the height of this ornament. BUT I wanted to have a front and a back...so I copied the main image...went to my advanced tab and then hit the flip icon.

Using Mariposa card stock...I used the sparkly cs for the outside and red/blue for in between the outer layers.
I layered them together, glued them and added some gold cording...
... and was done! Beautiful and QUICK!

Christmas Album / Wordbook

Good afternoon everyone
This is Pam at The Bug Bytes.

Myamagoo's E sadly died so I am posting today. If she gets hers up and running she will post too.
Something seems to be in the air affecting all Electronics!! Maybe they know they have worked enough and if they give in during Christmas we will replace?

And oops sorry for those subscribed by email. It published accidentally before I finished so posting again.
With me since I keep editing afterwards always a good idea to check my blog for the correct post I guess. :) . I know- but I am the impulsive sort!

Anyway my laptop is also almost toast between the hard drive full, AVG update mess up and the XP update mess. I spent days on it and rolled back XP update and atlast today got my Photoshop working. No videos though. As my Premiere Elements 8 (nor PSE 8) will not open and neither does this laptop recognize my camcorder. So the video I made to post on Friday (for my Sat Bugbytes post) will have to wait till I get my new laptop!
Ok lets get to the project. I made a simple simple wordbook playing with the free cartridges Christmas Solutions. Since I already had the original cartridge I could plug it in my Imagine and use some patterns . But most of the main are paper I just ruffled through my paper stock (not stack but stock :) ) and added.
I had one packet of Christmas stickers I had found at Tuesday Morning and some buttons lying around. So here is what I made. Other materials ink, anna griffin photo punch which I used throughout for the photo mat and Martha Stewart glitter and Diamond Glaze?Glossy Accents to seal in the Glitter and copic markers/sharpie. I have also used liquid paper for texture!

Now I figured ut the rectangle for 6 x 4 photos so I added quarter inch for the mat plus 2 inches -3 inches for sides and in the wider end I added couple of more inches for the punch holes.
Each inside page left side is like a pocket for tags.

Now this is the main gypsy page

I have grouped Christmas(Plantin - thick one - I think creative button 5) and the rectangle and welded. Then I added the punch holes and grouped it in with the rest . Note the weld button on the right - it should show half white as the holes/circles should not be welded.
Now this page I copied across to 8 more pages and then just deleted in each page the rest of the letters ie in 1st page every other letter except C gets deleted. Just click on the letter - after it gets purple - hit delete!
And the way I cut the page
3 times each page! I cut the front pattern paper and then the middle - not with cerealbox/chipboard but with cream/sand color paper.And then the back. I put the pattern side face down for this.I tried flipping but with welds like letters they act strange and do not align up. Make sure that your mat is not too new for this technique as then the paper might get stuck and rip.

I have added some glass beads and the pattern for the image is from Imagine - Snow Angels.
The charms are buttons. I welded 2010 to each other but not to the wreath not only because I used Imagine for the wreath but I wanted pop. So I just made it bigger.
Now before adding and cutting image in Imagine I sized it in G and noted the size and put the size in Imagine.
Also I set a basic rectangle well inside the punch holes and used this rectangle to size all images/cuts in all the pages.

Tree Imagine, Greetings pattern Imagine. Background paper from some stack and mats are 5 x 7 bazill stack. I spent about 20 mins coordinating all colors and arranging them. And the bazill 5 x 7 .I cut it to 6.5 x 4.5. I used the longer strip to paste it down and put the sticker on it. This can be used for adding brief titles or some journalling. The left side as I said is like a pocket for tags. I stuck front pattern paper and middle cream paper and the back of the paper - remember how I put it pattern side down in the cricut mat I put glue to only 3 sides to make a pocket . I also punched a half circle using a circle punch so the tags can easily slide out.
Oh and for the tree I have finally used that Imaginisce whatever you call it bling thingy - iRock. Glenda hope you see this.As promised!!. I have used silver nail heads and colored it in with sharpie/copic!
And the star was a button I had.

The beard I have used liquid paper which gives the arches paper effect. I got it from cheapJoes. This is how we recover some whites in watercolor.But you can also use liquid paper eraser/Corrector whatever!
And yes I have had fun with MS glitters!
The tag I poured some Art Glitter dry clear glue in a paper plate ran the edges through it and sprinkled glitter. Then sealed it in with Glossy Accents. The bow banner I added some glue in spots for bow and flower and then added red glitter then glue to rest and green glitter. Sealed it too with GA.
Then inked some journaling stamp and added lines. Santa - is all cut with cream paper . Shadow is inked in edges with momento dew pads - I think cinnamon something.
Then copic'd /sharpied and liquid paper. and a pom pom added!

Same story with next pages. On the right I have used stickers or buttons in the title/journal strip (as I like to call it)

My name is Melin and you can find me on my blog: CookingWithCricut.com. This is my first post here at Tuesday Treats and I was so honored that Pam and the girls let me join in the fun…Thank you ladies, very much.

Today I am sharing a layout I made using what I call “straight” Cricut. This simply means no design studio or gypsy this time….Sorry Chester, ‘ol buddy, ‘ol pal, you’ll have to sit this one out :-)
So here’s a view of the entire layout.

Okay here’s the recipe

I used Winter Woodland for the sleigh and cut it at 4”

I cut the sleigh bottom in white and then “inked” the “ski” part in gold ink. The picture doesn’t show how shiny that part is.

The presents were just patterned paper that I cut into squares.
The ribbons-bows were from Create A Critter pg. 73 – layer 3 cut at 3.5”

The little circles that cut from this cut I used for the reindeer noses.

The light borders for the mats were from Create A Critter pg. 73
The Sack was cut from Paper Doll Dress Up pg. 72 Accessory 3
The Christmas trees in the background were cut from Create A Critter pg. 33
The wreath was from Celebrate Flourishes second row, 7th key.

Santa’s Suit parts were cut from Christmas Cheer pg. 99 cut at 6”
Santa’s Hat was from Paper Doll Dress Up pg. 72 cut at 7”
Santa’s Beard and hair were from Paper Doll Dress Up pg. 72 cut at 7”
Santa’s Head was from George and Basic Shapes Circle cut at 2.75”
Santa’s nose was from George and Basic Shapes.
Santa’s Arms were cut From From My Kitchen pg. 77
Santa’s Body was from George and Basic Shapes. Circle at 3.75”
Santa’s eyes were from a punch, but you could cut some small circles out of George and Basic Shapes like the nose.

The reindeer were cut from Create A Critter pg. 69 at 3.5” – both layers

I used the black out feature so I could use my own eyes. These eyes were a Martha Stewart “tear drop” punch. Pretty small in size.

The Antlers were from Christmas Cheer pg. 86 cut at 3.5”-shadow
The nose was from the circles cut from the present bows (see above)
The “rope” was some gold floss that I had.

The Merry Christmas title was cut from Celebrate with Flourishes.
The various photo corners were from Picturesque.

Here is one last look at the entire layout. Now it is just waiting for some pictures and a little journaling and we will be good to go.

Happy Turkey Day cards

Hi Everyone! I'm Kristy from Craftin' on my door, and this is my 1st time posting a project here at Tuesday Treats!

My family {my hubbie and our 1 year-old daughter} and I will be heading to Southern California to visit our best friends for Thanksgiving! While we are there we will also be seeing my bestie's family, and her hubbie's family so I thought why not make them all a Thanksgiving card!

Here's what I came up with:

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge, the Lacy Lables cartridge, and of course my trusty Gypsy to get this card started! First, I chose the "turkey," "shadow," and "shadow for the plate." Next, I sized them at 2 1/2", and then used the {duplicate} button to add more.

Then, I used the "Flower2" label from Lacy Labels. I "unlinked" the width and height so that I could make it 5" x 5".

Paper Recipe:

Base of card-Kraft card stock from JoAnn's cut at 5 1/4" x 10 1/2". Then scored and folded in half to make a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" card.

I glued the pattern paper down onto the brown paper using my super cute Pink ATG. Then I used the "cheater method" of taping the ribbon to the back of the card stock before adhering it to the base of the card.

Next, I attached each of these to the base of the card. I love to add dimension so I used pop dots to adhere the turkeys to the cards.

Then, I tied on the bows, typed up a sentiment on my computer, punched them out with a SU circle punch, added bakers twine, and attached the sentiments to the bows.

I have a confession to make....I had first cut out the turkeys using the dark brown chocolate chip color (because I liked the way it all matched), but as I was putting them together they looked like {BURNT} turkeys to me! ;) What do you think?

Elmo Party

This is my first time as a contributor to Tuesday Treats. I just love working with my Cricut and creating gift items for friends and family members.

I used the cartridge Elmo Party to make today's project.

Supplies:
Cardstock: all from Stampin' Up
Adhesive: ATG 714, two way glue pen

Directions:
use the CrayonBx cut.
cut at 8.54 inches
box is cut Basic Black cardstock
Elmo is cut from Real Red cardstock
eyes and oval are Whisper White cardstock
nose is Pumpkin Pie cardstock
crayons are Real Red, Brilliant Blue, Glorious Green and Yoyo Yellow cardstocks

"i heart you" is from Create a Critter. It is cut at 1" from Basic Black and Real Red.

I used my Zutter Bind It All to create two little books that go inside the box. These little books will hold photo of the people I love. The pages are 4"x3" and there are 10 pages in each little book.

Play with this cartridge and think of it as more than just a "party" cartridge. There are lots of great uses for the cute creations.

I was inspired by the Harvest Maiden picture I googled. See that stress on the word I. Obviously my younger son who was wants to lie down in bed beside me and read to give me company WAS NOT. All he could say was she is creepy. Well I did not think so.
Now you all know that my back is gone for tossers the past week right? And so I have limited supplies. which my son was kind enough to get me. One of that was copic markers. My Imagine was also down. Still waiting for some cartridges but till then limited supply. But my Gypsy was updated - Sometimes there is real blessing in having old technology :) and thank heavens to my XP and 32 bit - it updated!! So I made 2 cards - the pumpkin for October challenge and this. I cut out of cream cardstock - which I prefer when coloring as the slight cream color gives warmth to a picture. If I want real white then I can always use opaque marker.
As to cartridges used - keyword search and whatever I liked in the way of fruit got in. I also searched for wreath and added one in. Face - paper doll.
So I set cut only in settings - connected the G and cut. G shows Imagine connected and then
paper barely cut through
What?!!!
So I set blade depth to full 6 and went to Imagine - added some image from best friends - in the mat set the pressure to 5 ie max an speed to 4 (does not matter as the imagine like cake behaves with the G). And then tried the G - no communicating message. Grrr.. So I switched off checked for loose contact (only thing remotely loose was my brain :) ) and switched on without the Imagine cartridge and this time the thing went smoothly. So I cut and colored and glued and doodled. No bling!!! Just a cherry ribbon I had got from Michaels and never taken upstairs. Oh and the label or frame and the flowers on the frame ? Well I tested a couple of frames from best friends to see if inside cuts so I just used ( 2- of same pink one reversed for main image and other right side printed up for the inside of the card. I snipped flowers from a different frame - green one. I think they are frompage 21 and 22)
See never give up your scissors (or using it) just because you get some expensive machines. The always come handy.
Now the card itself is an easel card which is pretty simple to do but watch out for some boo boos
Score the card in half and score the front again - anywhere you want (preferably within half mark - from the opening end - not the folded end) and apply glue to only this area
Then make sure the front panel is exactly the same size as the folded card ( ie if you have folded a 5 1/2 X 8 1/2 then the folded card is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4so panel is also 51/2 X 4 1/4th) .

Now my little boo boo which I had to correct - I had the brilliant idea of making the green panel a quarter inch smaller and did just that and stuck it directly instead of cutting same size panel and I had lower portion with black outline an upper just green without back shadow.Oops!So removed the green - cut black - glued green on it and then on to the card (see the pic above and apply glue only to the folded glue area)

Printed a sentiment in word and adjusted the font size till it fit in that imagine test frame I had printed

My son still says face is nice mom but kind of weird having fruits on her hair.
