With the next round of state and local elections just around the corner, there’s no better time to get engaged in the political process and make your voice heard on the issues central to Tulsa’s development.

Join TYPros and the Government Relations Crew for the kickoff of their newest program, Leadership through Legislation. In partnership with the Tulsa Metro Chamber’s OneVoice, the Leadership through Legislation program is designed for Young Professionals to increase involvement in the legislative process. Guest speakers will include Robbie Sittel with Tulsa County Library and Nick Doctor, director of government affairs for the Tulsa Metro Chamber.

Oklahomans for Equality will host Tulsa's Pride Festival Saturday, June 2. Headliner Pandora Boxx will be joined by musical artists Eric Himan, Rebecca Ungerman and Big Bad Gina. The street festival will be accompanied by the Tulsa Pride Parade at 5 p.m. The Parade route runs from the Brady Arts District, through the Blue Dome District, and ends in the East Village at the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center, kicking off a night of fun for the festival.

Parade – Begins at Brady and Cheyenne, 5 p.m.
Street Festival – 621 E. 4th St. 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Pub Club: R Bar,

Come unwind with TYPros at the next Pub Club, hosted by R Bar in Brookside. R Bar is one of Brookside’s newest restaurants and has quickly made a name for itself as a relaxing spot for young professionals to unwind. R Bar is also known for its full menu of delicious entrees, which recently received a rave review from the Tulsa World.

Dig out your helmet and dust off your big wheel, the Tulsa Big Wheel Race is returning for a new year with a new course. Last year TYPros challenged racers to face their fears and race downhill at break-neck speeds. This year the course has been changed up to create an obstacle course relay.

While adults racing around on children's play equipment may seem a little odd at first, the Tulsa Big Wheel Race gives adults the chance to be a kid again, while also making a positive impact on the community. Proceeds from the race will benefit TYPros’ 2012 community partner, the YWCA. Additionally, 10% of all sales at Fassler Hall during the event will also go toward the YWCA. So, rally your friends, family and fellow racers and join TYPros on June 7 for a fun time and a worthy cause.

Get Behind the Wheel
Please see the following categories for the race breakdown. Teams must register prior to the event to be eligible to race. Individual Relay Racers can register online or at the event.

Corporate Relay Team Race – $500 / 4 person team
Show your workplace pride to win the ultimate bragging rights. Corporations can register a relay team for $500, then find or build the best big wheel they can get their hands on, place their brand all over their ride and show this town who's boss. Or, if you’re in it just for fun, you can use a big wheel provided by TYPros.

Teams Relay Race – $150 / 4 person team
You can’t have a good relay race without a good team. So get creative, come up with a great team name and start building your racing army. Teams can register to race for $150 (just $38 a person). Teams during these heats must use big wheels provided by TYPros and will not be allowed to use modified big wheels.

Modified Big Wheel Team Relay Race – $150 / 4 person team
Have the creative and handy chops to BYOBW (Build Your Own Big Wheel)? The best of the Big Wheel best will compete in the modified big wheel team relay race. Teams may register for $150 (just $38 a team member) for the chance to prove their wheels are top notch. All big wheels used during this race must be made and/or modified by your team.

Individual Races – $20 / racer
Do you have what it takes to brave the track and join the race to make an impact? The Big Wheel Race is your chance to show what you're made of. Individuals can race for just $20 in a one lap race to the finish line. Don’t worry, there are prizes lined up for you too, but all individual racers must race using big wheels provided by TYPros. No modified big wheels allowed.

TYPros is gearing up for this year’s class of summer interns with the annual intern series.

This year’s program includes the Tulsa Big Wheel Race on June 7, where interns can jump on a big wheel to face off and represent their company for bragging rights.

A trolley tour of Tulsa on June 28 will give interns the lay of the land, ending in the Blue Dome district for a party with free appetizers and giveaways. The tour begins at 5:30 p.m.

The series will cap off with an intern night at ONEOK Field for a Driller’s game on July 19. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served at a pre-game picnic, starting at 6 p.m. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
