We know, we know: this episode is long overdue. It’s been a busy month for the Tuneage guys, with one finishing college, and the other being awesome somewhere else. Nonetheless, almost a month late, here’s episode 6.

The week we recorded this, if you can remember that far back, was the week Sigur Rós’ “Gobbledigook” was released unto the Internet, and predictably, that was our most reblogged track that week by far, with something like 43 reblogs at the time. And so, because Sigur Rós’ music can get a little odd at times, “Gobbledigook” being no exception, we decided to theme this episode on music of a more experimental ilk. Here’s your tracklisting:

Sigur Rós - “Gobbledigook” (from Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust)

Animal Collective - “Who Could Win A Rabbit” (from Sung Tongs)

Episode 5 already? With last week’s most reblogged post being the video for The Chemical Brothers’ excellent “Star Guitar”, we decided on electronica for the theme, but we narrowed it down even further to British electronica. The Chemical Brothers are just about the best thing to ever come out of Manchester, and they’re by no means the only British act to have revolutionized the electronica scene.

Also of note: we finally got around to recording some conversation for this episode of the podcast. It was the first time either of us had recorded and edited a podcast, so it’s a bit rough around the edges. So while this is certainly not the best podcast yet, it can only get better from here. We do however think this is our best episode yet, musically speaking, and that’s what really matters.

Here’s your tracklist. Enjoy.

Here we are. Episode 4. Our most reblogged this week was Robyn’s cover of Cobrastyle (13 reblogs when this was written), and with Robyn being one of our favourite Swedish exports, we thought Swedish acts would be a good theme. Here’s the tracklist:

Robyn - “Cobrastyle” (Teddybears cover) (from the rakamonie EP)

The Knife - “We Share Our Mother’s Health” (Ratatat remix) (unreleased)

A little earlier than usual, here’s episode 3. Our most reblogged this week was Mates of State with 19 reblogs (at the time of writing), so we chose bands that formed in 1997 as the theme, to allow for a little more variation in musical styles than last week’s. One of us was out of town this week, so it might not be as polished as in previous weeks. That said, here’s the tracklist:

Mates of State - Get Better (from Re-Arrage Us)

The First Four Years)

Marcy Playground - Mr. Fisher (unreleased)

Fine China - The Unsuccessful (from You Make Me Hate Music)

The Shins - New Slang (from Oh, Inverted World)

We’ve decided that each episode of the podcast will have a theme that relates to whatever was reblogged the most in the past 7 days. This week, it was Flobots with 19 reblogs (as of right now), so we decided on a hip-hop theme. Next week? Who knows, you decide! Here’s this week’s tracklisting:

Flobots - Handlebars (from Fight With Tools)
