La scelta dei pezzi bellissimi e complicati superano l’etichetta di musica minimalista.<o:p></o:p></div> <div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"> Ma purtroppo Wim Mertens decide di cantarci sopra delle strofe (poesie da lui scritte). Tutti i pezzi vengono contaminati dalla voce da controtenore che personalmente ho trovato irritante soprattutto per lo stesso timbro e modalità in tutti pezzi. Brani che vivono di vita propria, evocativi, affascinanti, anche senza l’intromissione del cantato.<o:p></o:p></div> <div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; text-justify: inter-ideograph;"> La seconda parte del concerto è dedicata ai brani più famosi, molti da The Belly of an Architect … ma sempre la presenza della voce di Wim “danneggia” la potenza di brani storici come Birds of the mind e altri.<o:p></o:p></div> <span style="text-align: justify;">Non si salva neppure Struggle for Pleasure, “inquinato” da due strofe buttate la, che fa tanto cross over da avant garde anni 80’ … forse una voglia di svecchiare i “classici” e non rientrare negli stereotipi … ma personalmente mi è sembrato un eccesso di megalomania da parte di Wim Mertens aggiungere altro, a delle creazioni già di per se perfette.</span><br /> <div class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify;
