by Janie Emaus

A Young Adult Novel

A story about
crushes, conflicts and astrological confusion.

Finally, after
years of making love predictions for her friends, fifteen-year-old astrologer,
Emma Seigel, sees a boyfriend in her future. But there’s one big
problem. Mercury is heading for Retrograde in four weeks, and she sure knows
what that means. It’s like an astrological PMS. A disastrous time to start a
new relationship.

Using her
school newspaper column, Emmastrology, she sets a plan in motion and
within a week lands hottie Evan Randolph as her boyfriend. She’s a Taurus. He’s
a Capricorn. Both earth signs. What could be more perfect? But is he as perfect
as her prediction claims him to be? The stars are telling her it’s right. But
her heart says it’s all wrong.

Everyday her
feelings are growing stronger for someone else, a Leo, so totally not the sign
for her. And to make matters even worse, Emma’s actions, caused by her
unflinching belief in astrology, get her in trouble with her best friends in
the whole world.

Time is running
out. Can Emma straighten up this mess she’s in before Mercury goes Retrograde
again?

A Honey Creek Sweet Romance!

Kiersten Hart left
Honey Creek the minute she graduated high school and never looked back. When
her sister Jeanine is widowed and left to raise two children alone, Kiersten
moves back on a temporary basis. When Charles steps in and sweeps her off her
feet, she has to decide if the wounds from her childhood can be mended.

After his wife
died, Charles Webber swore he’d never love anyone again. He buried himself in
his work and didn’t look up until he found out his son was sick. Moving to
Honey Creek was supposed to make things easier. Kiersten does little to help
keep things simple. Though he is taken with her, he soon realizes the casual
relationship they agreed on is turning serious. As their expiration date
approaches, Charles must decide if Kiersten is worth the risk.

Author Bio: Maggie Greene has often been described as having
an overactive imagination. She’s not convinced this is true, but does seem to
spend a lot of her time daydreaming up ways to make her characters fall in
love. When she’s not buried in a pile of books or typing away on her computer,
she’s living out her very own happily-ever-after with a very patient husband
and a demanding cat.

family, no matter what. Lane Iverson knows that better than anyone. Harboring a
secret about his mother’s death, Lane is counting the days until he finishes
helping his brothers with some work and can head back to his hiding hole hours
away. As long as he doesn’t have to face his three brothers every day, the
guilt is easier to carry.
There is only
one thing that can risk his plan. All of five foot tall, with these deep eyes

from her friends behind her, she confronts what she wants. To her surprise,
that’s the easy part. Keeping her heart protected when she knows he’ll be
leaving? Not so easy, but her only choice.
Author Bio: Keri Ford was raised in
South Arkansas on a farm surrounded by family, horses, cows, donkeys,
ostriches, emus, chickens, ducks, Canadian Geese, and enough dogs one would
think they were a pound…and then she bought a Cosmopolitan when she was
twenty-two. She doesn’t recall the fantastic sex tip that drew her to the
magazine, but she vividly remembers reading an excerpt of Christina’s Skye’s Code
Name: Princess. One elevator scene and quick thought of, I didn’t know
people wrote stuff like this… and her life would never be the same.
by Jennifer Anderson

A Honey Creek Young Adult Book

Honey Creek Royalty Series, Book One

Mya
Newman never minded the routine or quiet that came with living in a small
country town like Honey Creek, Ohio. For her senior year, she craved something
exciting to happen instead of it melting into a cookie cutter routine like the
previous years.

When
a new girl, Audrey Moore, moves to Honey Creek, Mya finds herself caught in a
triangle. She discovers hidden feelings for her best friend, Michael Graves,
but he seems to have eyes for the new girl.

After
Mya’s father becomes ill and eventually passes, she turns to her best friend,
Michael. Never leaving her side, she can’t help but wonder if he’d rather be
elsewhere. With fear of rejection and loss of friendship, Mya decides she can’t
confess her recently discovered feelings.

When
Michael and Mya share a dance at the Winter Formal, does she confess her true
feelings for him? Or does she shy away, forever longing to be the princess who
finds her prince?
Bio: I’m
a mommy, wife and now author. Even though I've spent many years on either
coast, I've spent a majority of my life in the Midwest. Here is where my heart
grows with the love and support of my family and friends, and here is where I
find inspiration for my stories.

I
didn’t grow up wanting to be an author but knew I needed to do something
creative. After many years of moving from one job to the next and not finding
happiness, I set pen to paper and began work on a Young Adult novel that will
never see the light of day. And that’s okay.
their problem by getting their two bosses to stop working and start loving in a
match that lasts forever. Zack and Crandall are in for a crazy ride, because
Maxwell knows all and he will design a plan that is infallible; but, in the

Banger's People
by Mary O'Dell

Every time Dixie Honaker feels that a ride on the love boat with her
elegant, silver-haired neighbor Walter may be about to happen, Banger, her rude
but good-hearted mutt, does something to splash cold water all over them.

Despite Banger’s helping to rescue Walter after he is mugged, the man
still finds the dog a little too grungy for his taste. He feels the same about
Dixie’s lovable, wild-ass son, with his pregnant girlfriend and druggie pal.
But never fear, Dixie eventually nails down the truth about who mugged Walter
and helps everyone else work out their problems—everyone but Banger, that is,
who ends up in court on Halloween Day and needs a special dispensation of
justice from the unlikeliest of sources.
Author Bio: Appalachian born and raised,
Mary O’Dell, poet with a crotchety black cat and an ageless heart, would live
in a treehouse but there’s not one big enough for all her books. Besides, at
her age it would be a foolhardy venture. Instead, she allows that heart out on
a regular basis to perch (sometimes warily) on her sleeve. The cat sleeps safe
and sound on her chest at night.

Mary is founder and
president of Green River Writers, Inc., which offers retreat and
critiquing sessions year-round. Her mentoring series in poetry and memoir
happen in cafes and coffee shops in and around Louisville, Kentucky.

Mary has several poetry
collections to her credit, among them Poems for the Man Who Weighs Light
and Living in the Body from Mellen Poetry Press and The Dangerous Man
and What I Can Count On by Finishing Line Press.

The Sweet Letting Go, was published in 2010 by
Turquoise Morning Press, tells the story of two damaged people whose burgeoning
relationship allows them to heal and learn to love even as tragedy encroaches.
Mary is at work on a new
novel, a family saga and love story that takes place in the West Virginia
coalfields in the thirties and forties.
Castaway Hearts
by Taryn Raye

Twice orphaned, Catherine Barrett arrives in Virginia
a stranger to her closest kin and secretly engaged to the one man her family
would disapprove of- her seafaring grandfather’s apprentice. Add to her
troubles, the rich and intriguing older brother of her secret betrothed, Dawson
Randolph, a plantation owner who is as heartless as he is handsome. Heartbroken
when her intended sets sail for his maiden voyage, Catherine finds it difficult
to adjust to her new life, hoping to befriend the one man who is, undoubtedly,
the match her grandparents wish for her. Dawson’s distaste for her secret
engagement to his brother makes it clear he has no designs for marriage to
anyone. Especially her.

Ten years since the tragic loss of his young wife and
infant son, Dawson Randolph is convinced love and marriage is a fool’s game and
resents being pardon to his brother’s hidden engagement. Damned by his instant
attraction and his own growing desire, Dawson vows to befriend her against his
better judgment. Determined to bring her happiness in a time of fear and
uncertainty, Dawson puts aside his animosity to become her confidant, only to
realize Catherine holds the key to his heart. When tragedy strikes at sea,
Catherine’s guilt pushes Dawson to the fringes of her life as madness consumes
her.

Can his love save her before she drowns in her own
grief? Or is he doomed to love her from a distance, always in the shadow of her
love for his dead brother?

Author Bio: A romantic at heart, my love
of storytelling began in childhood with the typical fairytales and my
membership at age 10 to the Just for
Girls Book Club. I grew up on classics and contemporary tales, but it wasn’t
long before my tastes also matured as I ventured into my mother’s stash of
Harlequins and Silhouettes, too.

Always an avid reader, I
have found that some stories, the ones most near and dear, reside where only I
can hear them—in my heart and my mind. For the majority of my life, those
stories remained buried as I put my writing on the back burner to everything
else.

There comes a point for
writers though, where the desire, the necessity
to write, overrides our own logic and reasoning. I couldn’t keep promising
myself I would get around to it “someday” and for me, that realization came in
2006 when the emptiness ached so bad I had to fill it with the one thing my
heart desired most. Writing all the stories locked within.

I’m so pleased to be able to
share these stories with you now and in the years to come. I hope you’ll enjoy
reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

Born and raised in a small
town in Central Kentucky, I now reside in the southern part of the state with
my husband, stepson, daughter and my mischief-making cat named Miscellaneous,
aka Mizzy.
of the many places I hang out:
The Kitty Irish Trilogy, Book One (Young Adult)

Kitty Irish has heard all the rumors
swirling around Daniel Phinney. Most of them involve a gun, a flask, and a
temper. One chance encounter with the WWII veteran over a grisly find in the
woods pulls the cover off the dark secrets of their small town, and Kitty is
drawn into an unlikely partnership.

Armed with an antique rifle and a handful
of homemade silver bullets, the two form an efficient team. Unfortunately,
their game is werewolf hunting, and disaster is only a bite away.
A GARDEN OF EARTHLY
DELIGHTS

Pushed out of his own
start-up company, Tom McKittrick is ready to lick his wounds in private at the
rural family estate he’s inherited. But he isn’t prepared for his Garden of
Eden to have a built-in Eve—a reclusive naturalist with a long-term lease on
the caretaker’s cottage, a knack for gardening, and an incredibly beautiful
face.

A PARADISE FOR TWO

April Fairchild is not
about to let Tom McKittrick order her out of the home that has been her cozy
retreat from the world. But she has to feel sorry for him—the corporate bigwig
is clearly out of his element in, well, the elements. April knows she can teach
this hunky guy a thing or two about how to relax. All she has to do is sow the
seeds of romance…and let nature take its course.

Transylvania—Transylvania County,
North Carolina. She sort of lives
in a castle and owns a pet dragon—miniature breed. And she slays vampires who
hunt her. You see, her blood is like honey, sweeter than wine.

Suddenly
Crawford Miklos, heir prince of the elvan kingdom shows up with kisses that
slay her and commands her to come with him and kill a wizard. It seems she is
the only hope for the continuance of the Ieies, a special breed of the elvan
race, and the last descendant of the patron saint of elves, Bloody Rose. Why
does Crawford think they can defeat the wizard? The Book of the Beginning says they will. But is there more to it
than that?
romance novelist, Maddie James, trips between contemporary, historical, and

with her muses—who most days manifest themselves as four-legged furry
creatures—and often laments that her cats have become her children, and she has

by Grace Greene

Beth Kincaid left her hot
temper and unhappy childhood behind and created a life in the city free from
untidy emotionalism, but even a tidy life has danger, especially when it falls
apart.

In the midst of her
personal disasters, Beth is called back to her hometown of Preston, a small
town in southwestern Virginia, to settle her guardian’s estate. There, she runs
smack into the mess she’d left behind a decade earlier: her alcoholic father, the
long-ago sweetheart, Michael, and the poor opinion of almost everyone in town.
As she sorts through her guardian’s possessions, Beth discovers that the woman
who saved her and raised her had secrets, and the truths revealed begin to chip
away at her self-imposed control.

Michael is warmly
attentive and Stephen, her ex-fiancé, follows her to Preston to win her back,
but it is the man she doesn’t know who could forever end Beth’s chance to build
a better, truer life.
by Margaret Ethridge

Tom Sullivan wants a woman who is willing to accept
him as he is. The successful divorce attorney has seen enough of the flip side
of love to know better than to promise forever. Women have tried to pin him down,
but none have managed to make it stick.

Until Maggie McCann.

Maggie is only interested in one thing. Her
fortieth birthday is looming and the tick-tock-tick-tock
in her head means her biological clock is about to strike midnight on her
dreams of finding Prince Charming. Armed with a new plan for her happily ever,
she foregoes the Fairy Godmother routine and makes an appointment with a
fertility clinic for a rendezvous with a sperm donor.

The last thing Maggie needs is to get mixed up with
a player like Tom Sullivan.

A chance encounter and the opportunity to scratch a
decade-long itch prove irresistible, and what starts as a one-night stand turns
into a game of cat and mouse when Tom learns of Maggie’s plan to start a family
on her own.

To Maggie, messing with a player like Tom Sullivan
is the single-girl equivalent of playing with fire, but she convinces herself
to take what she can get for as long as she can and expect nothing more. But
Tom falls hard and fast for Maggie, and now that they’re planning to have a
baby together he starts banking on his own a happily ever after.

If only he can get her to commit…
by Lynna Banning

Journal of Leora Marie Banning, 1910-1913

Eighteen-year-old schoolteacher and new bride Leora Maria Banning sails to South America in 1910 to join her husband’s family on their cattle ranch. Far from civilization on the plains of Argentina, Marie struggles to adjust to the rough life of the Pampas, to be accepted for herself, and to realize what loving her husband demands. She learns to make ostrich egg omelets for breakfast, converse in Spanish with the gauchos, and wear “bombaches,” the baggy, calf-length pants worn by the Argentine cowhands. She records her adventures through photographs taken with her simple Kodak box camera.

Then, camped a thousand miles from Buenos Aires, Marie discovers she is pregnant. The battle to save herself and her child challenges everything she believes in.

This memoir is based on stories and remembrances of the Argentine which Marie related to her granddaughter, the author, while she was growing up. *The photographs included are those Marie took during her Argentine honeymoon.

*Publisher Note: Photographs are included in trade paperback print version only, and not in digital/ebook versions.
A Merworld Fantasy by J.W. Keleher

A story. Yeah. Sure. A story and more.

Douglas didn’t ask for much. He’d traveled to these islands off Scotland to investigate the property he’d inherited from his grandfather.

The locals called the property’s sealed cave Beul Nam Beinn—Mouth in the Hill. Douglas was curious.

Look inside? Why not?

The mouth, sealed long ago for reason unknown, reopened had a story to tell. A family story. A story of Douglas’s ancestry. He had broken a seal and opened himself in the process. To his ancestors. To the cave. To the sea. To dreams and nightmares and understanding.

Beul Nam Bienn. Douglas changed. So will you.

Author Bio: J. W. Keleher admits the past year has been tough. Besides visiting the Sarengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Olduvai Gorge, and Zanzibar, he became terribly sick and had an extended period of unemployment (you could say one side of his toast was burnt while the other glowed with the essence of toastness). He imagined his life progressing differently.

Currently he lives in a house with two spare bedrooms (he keeps trying to rent one out, but it just doesn’t ever seem to work) and a thermostat that never goes much above sixty. His experiment of growing lettuce in the kitchen has failed. He enjoys visits from the neighborhood cat and movie nights.

He has two extended problems he’d like to resolve (well, maybe more than two but let’s just focus on two for now). He’d like to find a place to call home (you know where he could hang a hammock to swing in for the rest of his days) and he wishes he had the money to fly to Nancy, France for an extended period (if he did have the money to fly to Nancy, France and found he liked it, maybe it would become his home; this could be like hitting two bird with one stone…except, of course, birds are smaller).

He has often wondered why anyone would want to think inside of a box. He prefers to think in thrift stores, junk shops, old forests, and near the sea. He is a writer, teacher, archaeologist, and artist. by Christina Wolfer

Abandoned by her mother at birth, social worker Katie Delynski believes love and relationships are learned—and she hasn’t learned anything good about either. She avoids both love and relationships by focusing on her career and by getting prostitutes off the street. But when a man she’s never met commits suicide and names her as his daughter, leaving her millions of dollars and a family full of new relatives, things change. Her new family invites her into their lives, stirring a sense of belonging she is afraid to believe in.

Determined to put her windfall to good use, Katie buys an old building for a women’s shelter. Her newfound family puts her in touch with Conner Patterson, a family friend, to help rehab the building. As work progresses, Katie finds herself falling in love with Conner, but fear keeps her from acting on her feelings. It soon becomes apparent, though, that Conner may be her only hope for survival, when someone hurt by her father’s past indiscretions is determined to make Katie pay for her father’s sins.
Author Bio: The first Compiled Writings by Christina were gathered and stapled together when I was ten years old. Those terribly written, yet funny to read, short stories often held some resemblance to my life growing up on a 39 acre farm in Williamsburg, OH, a small town east of Cincinnati. There were horses, cows, pigs, dogs, cats—okay, a zoo—which included three older brothers.

I left this wonderful life behind at eighteen to pursue a degree in Journalism and then a career in Marketing. After ten years of living in the city, I moved back to Williamsburg and bought those same 39 acres I grew up on. I eventually married my best friend, Jack, and allowed him and his son to move in with me, my two dogs and two horses. Since then, we’ve added another horse and built our dream home, a log cabin.

The desire to write and become publishing was never far from my mind. It pushed at me until I could no longer ignore the stories running through my head.

Then one day, sitting in an airport on my way home from a business trip, I wrote the first chapter of Two Brothers. Once that first book was written, well, then I had to figure out what to do with it. I joined Romance Writers of America, as well as my local chapter, which eventually led me to Turquoise Morning Press and the release of my first book.

Like any good story, my journey has just begun and the ending is yet to be written.
South Arkansas on a farm surrounded by family, horses, cows, donkeys,
ostriches, emus, chickens, ducks, Canadian Geese, and enough dogs one would

twenty-two. She doesn’t recall the fantastic sex tip that drew her to the
magazine, but she vividly remembers reading an excerpt of Christina’s Skye’s Code
Name: Princess. One elevator scene and quick thought of, I didn’t know
people wrote stuff like this… and her life would never be the same.

by Suzanne Barrett

Justine Farris would do anything for her dotty old aunt, but marrying Declan Walsh seems just plain crazy. Although the handsome handyman might be sent back to Ireland unless they pretend to tie the knot, how can Justine possibly say “I do” when they can’t agree on anything.

Declan would never have proposed to an independent, unconventional woman like Justine, but this is an emergency. Then, suddenly, he begins to wish that his temporary fiancée could stay in his arms forever. And where there’s a will, there’s a way….

Every time Dixie Honaker feels that a ride on the love boat with her elegant, silver-haired neighbor Walter may be about to happen, Banger, her rude but good-hearted mutt, does something to splash cold water all over them.

Despite Banger’s helping to rescue Walter after he is mugged, the man still finds the dog a little too grungy for his taste. He feels the same about Dixie’s lovable, wild-ass son, with his pregnant girlfriend and druggie pal. But never fear, Dixie eventually nails down the truth about who mugged Walter and helps everyone else work out their problems—everyone but Banger, that is, who ends up in court on Halloween Day and needs a special dispensation of justice from the unlikeliest of sources.

About Mary O'Dell
Appalachian born and raised, Mary O'Dell, poet with a crotchety black cat and an ageless heart, would live in a treehouse but there's not one big enough for all her books. Besides, at her age it would be a foolhardy venture. Instead, she allows that heart out on a regular basis to perch (sometimes warily) on her sleeve. The cat sleeps safe and sound on her chest at night. Mary is founder and president of Green River Writers, Inc., which offers retreat and critiquing sessions year-round. Her mentoring series in poetry and memoir happen in cafes and coffee shops in and around Louisville, Kentucky. Mary has several poetry collections to her credit, among them Poems for the Man Who Weighs Light and Living in the Body from Mellen Poetry Press, and The Dangerous Man by Finishing Line Press. Mary is at work on a new novel, a family saga and love story that takes place in the West Virginia coalfields in the thirties and forties.
