Spring Has Sprung!!

2014-03-21T12:44:00.001-04:00

So the saying goes,

"No matter how long the winter,

spring is sure to follow!"

... and it's HERE!!

Cheers to the season of tulips!

How beautiful are these peony tulips?

Wednesday's Wedding Inspired Bliss ~ Ginger Jar Designs

2014-01-29T09:22:00.003-05:00

I shared yesterday my new found affinity for Ginger Jars and I don't just want to collect them for decorating - I want them for flowers and table decor too!

Wednesday's Wedding Inspired Bliss is found in the Ginger Jar and the varying displays you can create with these fabulous treasures!

Love this tables cape. The Ginger Jars provide great height to the table!

A little something blue for your tablescape

I spy ginger jars with tulips!

Smaller Ginger Jars can be used as bud vases

Imagine this beautiful display of white hydrangea and Ginger Jars on your events entry hall table... or the guest book table... Or the escort card table. Fairly simple arrangement (assuming you have the Ginger Jars, of course)

Again, the Ginger Jar provides a great vase for flowers that will give your table some height

Tuesday's Treasure ~ Ginger Jars

2014-01-28T15:05:00.000-05:00

It's been a while since we've gone on a TT&B treasure hunt but I have been hunting and want to bring you up to speed!

Ginger jars.

Love them.

So many things you can do with them; they go everywhere! While I don't have any surfaces to put them at the moment (another post to come on that, I need some bookshelves!) but that doesn't mean I can't start collecting!

So, here we go. Ginger jars.

Ginger jars have a long line of history amongst Chinese culture. According to most resources, "A Ginger Jar is shaped with a wide mouth, a domed lid and a bulging, bulbous spherical hand painted body. They come in various styles and sizes and in many different colors. The true Chinese antique Ginger Jar is made of porcelain and hand painted. The jars acquired the name “Ginger Jars” because they often contained ginger (which was one of the most valuable spices at the time) when they were exported to the West."

So my lovelies, Ginger Jar treasures to fill your home on this fine Tuesday!

Metallic Monday

2014-01-27T10:55:00.004-05:00

I'm not sure what to say about last night's Grammys... I am going to put my thoughts on the show itself to rest and just harp on how much I loved Taylor Swift's outfit. Whatever your opinion of her, she killed it!

So with that, a few metallic get-ups to make your Monday sparkle

(and a few other thoughts!)

This dress...

is to die for.

Period.

No matter your thoughts of Taylor, she killed it.

Though she had some funny moments of the evening, this dress tops everything. Every little thing about it is stunning. This dress is likely going to top all award show fashion for me this year!

Chrissy Teigen pulled off this metallic number

Ciara rocked this Pucci... pregnant!

Rita Ora's isn't my favorite of the metallics but still metallic none the less

(and I have seen way worse.)

Though they didn't go the metallic route...

Can we talk about how beautiful Miranda Lambert looks? I dont know what she is eating and what workout she's doing, but I want in! She looks fabulous!

Love Giuliana Rancic's Alex Perry number

Umm... where did Paris Hilton come from? No comment on the dress but merely sharing that I feel like she came out of the woodwork here!

Let's talk supporting details for a second...

Again, TSwift killed it in the makeup and jewels category.

Miranda is glowing. Her earrings are amazing too. Again, I want in on whatever regimen she's doing!

It's Friday, I'm In Love... with Theo and Beau!

2014-01-24T10:07:00.001-05:00

Have you ever come across something that warms your heart so much you simply can't get enough of it? Well this is one of those for me and I truly cannot get enough.

We first met Mommas Gone City's duo in November and since then, Theo and Beau have completely stolen my heart... literally! Ask anyone who has been with me the past few weeks and they will tell you that I can't stop talking about how cute these little boogers are.

Just a boy and his dog... This is what friendship is all about!

So, TGIF my friends and an ode to #TheoandBeau and to the joys of friendship
(not to get all sappy on you or anything)!

This was the #TheoandBeau debut and it only gets cuter from here... way, way cuter!

Napping buddies

...and the naps just get cuter...

...and cuter!

When they're not napping, they're being equally as precious!

I mean, can you even handle this?

Shopping buddies!

Swinging buddies!

No words!

Back to the napping...

Living the American dream!

Puppies seem to grow a little faster than kiddos

Just about the same size!

My 2013 Christmas card

Bootiful!

2013-10-31T15:59:00.000-04:00

Boo to you from
this BLISSFUL crew!

It's been said that "Orange is the New Black" which of course makes for the perfect pallet when this day rolls around each year! Some pops of orange and black to add some sugar to your day!

Confession: the amount of candy I have eaten in the last 24 hours is cause for serious concern... but it's part of being "festive", right?

Love everything about this room - especially the orange chairs

Black and white with splashes of orange. Loving that console table too!

This bedroom is the perfect canvas not only to add a splash of orange, but to add just about any color the heart desires!

Not exactly inline with the black, white and orange for Halloween but liked this orange chair so much I just had to share!

Now tell us...
Does this room go too far? Bold black walls with all orange accents. Would you dare or is this too spooky?

Wicked Wednesday

2013-10-30T14:07:00.001-04:00

Hope all of you are getting in the Halloween spirit... admittedly, Halloween is not my favorite but at the same time, who doesn't love a reason to decorate and have a party?! After Halloween comes my favorite, Thanksgiving... hard to believe they're right around the corner!

I was in New Orleans this past weekend and my, do they go all out!! Gracious!! Everything they do in that city is to the nth degree - just love all the excitement! Coming home to an nondecorated stoop has me feeling like a Halloween Grinch!

In case you too are looking to add a little wicked to your front stoop for all the trick-or-treaters who will come a knockin' tomorrow, here you go (and of course, there's always next year... never too early to start planning!)

By the way, take the wicked out of most of these and you have the perfect Thanksgiving front door decor for your family coming over for turkey in 4 weeks!

Hanging bats made simple with Martha's DIY project

Another idea with Martha's bats - hung across your door!
(make sure to hang with non-sticky tack so you can pull them right off on November 1st!)

(of course, it doesn't hurt to also have a festive orange door!)

It's Friday, I'm In Love... with Demijohns

2013-08-09T15:04:00.000-04:00

I recently learned the technical term for these gems and it has such a ring to it that they've become even more eye catching.

Demijohn... just sounds so intriguing!

Where have I been on this one?

Shame on me for simply calling them jugs. I should have known these fabulous pieces had a much swankier name.

via

History lesson for the day: The demijohn originated as a method for transporting liquids, any liquids: water, wine, oils, etc.The oldest demijohns have the bubble, kidney-shaped bottom, but eventually their shaped evolved to a more jug-like shape making them easier to stack when transporting on wagons, ships, etc. While the shape may have evolved, the narrow-neck of the bottle did not. Antique demijohns are often sea-greens and blues but that too has evolved over time and now you'll see them in all sorts of colors (so color is the first tip-off of whether it's a true antique or not.)

Whether antique or modern replica, they're still fantastic pieces to fill up those nooks and crannies around your house. Great containers for blooming branches or statements on their own, grouped together for color or filled with nick-knacks, you can truly use them in so many ways, they're a true staple!

This demijohn looks great simply filled with branches from the yard

Demijohns can add a pop of color atop a traditional piece

Demijohns under a kitchen island, why not?

Demijohns in a beautiful bedroom - with just a touch of subtle color.

Subtle holiday decor using cranberries and demjijohns

Mix and match demijohn colors, shapes and sizes for a fabulous hassle free centerpiece

Now that's a serious lamp. A demijohn lamp to be exact.

Demijohns looks great outdoors, too!

... the options are endless!

Warhol on a Wednesday

2013-08-07T16:36:00.000-04:00

Perrier's limited-edition Warhol labels are works of art in and of themselves!
Admittedly, I am already hooked to sparkling water but how can you resist a refreshing drink with such a fabulous label?
This may have just made me partial to Perrier!

Yesterday would have been the pop-artist's 85th birthday so as an ode to his milestone birthday and the famous 1983 collection of 40 works of art featuring the iconic bottle, Perrier decided it's about time they honor the legend!

So, here's to you Andy. Bottoms up!

Tulips on a Tuesday... and on a Coffee Table

2013-08-06T17:00:00.000-04:00

Pretty pink tulips will surely brighten your Tuesday...

and put them on a chichi coffee table adorned with design's greatest books and I'd call them the cherry on the top!

This coffee table masterpiece incorporates all of Southern Livings' makings for a good coffee table:

One: Something tall

Two: An oddball object

Three: Something fresh

Four: Books

This coffee table, complete with pink tulips, is simply put, divine.

The World is Your Oyster!

It's Friday, I'm In Love... With MYdrap Rolls!

2013-08-02T11:00:00.000-04:00

These tear-off cotton or linen napkins, placemats and coasters are a brilliant concept and have become my go-to hostess gift as of late. With plenty of colors and patterns to choose from, MYdrap is designed to mix and match for countless perfect combinations of table settings for ever occasion.

MYdrap gems are made of 100% cotton or linen and come packaged on perforated rolls (similar to paper towels) that detach easily. They can be used once and disposed of or washed and used up to six times. Genius if you ask me.

You can now have the beauty of cloth on every table setting without the cost (or the dry-cleaning bill!)

The only downside to these -- there are so many options!!

Just a sampling of the 20 colors to choose from

Blues at the beach

Semi-disposable napkins are a must for your next luncheon

Picnic anyone? MYdrap has you covered with classic "picnic checks"

The vintage collection is so french chi

Cocktails on a lowkey night on your back patio? You still need a cocktail napkin of course making for the perfect time to pull out your MYdrap

The blues and grays are so interchangeable

How cute are these nautical rolled napkins for a pool party?

Bliss is Back!

2013-08-01T14:43:00.001-04:00

Turquoise, Tulips and Bliss has been on a bit of a hiatus due solely to its "authors", i.e. me and i'm so sorry! Not making excuses but I will say that work took over my life from March to June and after a wildly successful conference mid-June, I am now beginning to feel human again!

All of that behind us, we are back up and I am committing to returning to my favorite pastime, collecting and compiling my favorite things and sharing them with anyone and everyone!

So, as a bit of a fresh start, I am going right back to the root of what never fails to make me smile:

Turquoise

Tulips

... and Bliss!!

Please forgive my absence and I hope you will join me back here now on a much more regular basis!

This room... is just bliss! Turquoise accents throughout complete with fresh cut tulips - take me away!

So chic!

I would classify this as Turquoise and Bliss! How perfect would this be for a beach home?

Beautiful white living room complete with white tulips

Lavender and Orange - an unlikely match if you had asked me but what an awesome bouquet this makes!

If only we could have magazine ready dining rooms - with fresh tulip arrangements -- at all times!

Who said sweet, danty tulips can't still be bold? This multi-color arrangement makes the colorful accents of the room pop all the more!

...and some words of wisdom as reminders of how to live a life of bliss!

So celebrate Pi day with some delicious Pie treats -- it's only appropriate!

It's Friday, I'm in Love... with Quadrille!

2013-01-25T08:00:00.000-05:00

... well really all Quadrille but right now I'm really loving the Quadrille China Seas Bali II. The name sounds about as cool and ornate as the fabric looks! While it's "old" (2009) by design standards, it's still catching my eye!

I am going to go ahead and say that this will not be the last post of favorite Quadrille prints you're going to see from me... stay tuned!!

Bliss and China Seas Bali II to you on this fabulous Friday!

Enhancing Emerald!

2013-01-24T21:54:00.004-05:00

"Lively. Radiant. Lush... A color of elegance and beauty that enhances our sense of well-being, balance and harmony."

Don't know about you but my sense of well-being, balance and harmony could use a little enhancing --

so thank you for that Pantone, don't mind if I do...

And for that matter, thank you Pantone for making it the color of the year! That surely guarantees a year full of harmony and well-being, right?

For those needing a little enhancement in the well-being area, I bring you some emerald this evening!!

Turquoise, Christmas and Bliss!

2012-12-19T10:05:00.002-05:00

When push comes to shove, I guess I'd say I'm traditional HOWEVER if given the option to be a little bit of all things, I am all about some pops of non-traditional flare of course!!

While turquoise may not be the natural next to follow red and green in the list of holiday colors, it sure does seem to make for some beautiful decor!!

So if you've felt like your decor has been missing a little something the past few weeks, perhaps some turquoise splashed in there would be just the umph you're looking for?

Here's to hoping your season is filled with Turquoise, Christmas and Bliss!
