Who wants to be a Librarian? - Contest!!

2013-08-20T02:44:00.000-07:00

Hey Turtles!

Torgo here, today I'd like to introduce the first ever Turtle World team contest. Out contest called "Who wants to be a librarian?". Let me explain the contest in some small details:

In Turtle World, there is an awesome library, a library is a place in which you can go and read books. Over the next few months, we will be adding books into the library for you and your turtle friends to read!

We need help! We're offering YOU, an imaginative young turtle, the chance to have one of your books in the Library.

Here's what you have to do:

You have to first think of an idea for your book. Why not make a spin-off fairy tale book. You could call it "The Turtle and the Hare" or "Turtlella" or "The little green riding hood". A few titles to name a few.

Make a plan for what will happen in your book from beginning, middle to the end. These are your 3 MAIN POINTS when creating a piece of writing.

For example, this would be my plan:

----

Title:Turtlella

Beginning- A long blonde haired turtle dressed in rags is being asked to do lots of different jobs by her two ugly step-turtles.

Middle-A flea circus randomly appears in the middle of her home whilst her evil step-turtles go out to find a dress for the ball. The flea circus ask turtlella to bring them some things, a pumpkin and a dirty old cloth. They turn the pumpkin into a carriage and the dirty old cloth into a beautiful sparkly dress for turtlella. She ends up going to the ball.

End-She falls in love but the clock strikes midnight, she rushes home. The next morning she has a knock on her door to see if the glass slipper fits. It does, Turtlella and the Prince live happily ever after.

----

Once i'd have wrote my plan, i'd start writing. Firstly, i'd make a limit on how many pages/lines I can do for a different scene. So for the first scene i'd probably restrict myself to about 12 or so lines to introduce who the main characters are and to show the reader what the main character is doing and the story about the book.

**Books must be at least 4 pages/40 lines long and have at least 300 or more words in your book.**

"Be creative, Be imaginative." - O.Sebastian

When you have written your book, Send it us at:

support@worldofturtles.com

The contest closes on the 1st of September 2013.

The winning book is announced on the 3rd of September 2013.

We wish you luck, turtles!

Hello Turtles! Today me and some of the awesome community members (YOU GUYS) we held our own Fruit Mini-Party together in celebration of our latest mini-game release: Fruit Catch! It was TURTLETASTIC! I took some pretty cool photographs of us all together, We also had a fruity quiz that was lots of fun to participate in, our winner was Tinky The Tonker, Who scored a total of 7 answers! We were also speaking about the Diet plate and what makes a healthy person, Together we can make a turtally healthy world for everyone! Some turtles shared some awesome facts about keeping and staying healthy, which were really intresting to learn about!

We later took the party outside and had a blast at the Summer Bash! It was Turtletastic! Here's an image!

Talking about mini-partys, Yesterday we hosted an awesome little party for the turtles with Twitter accounts, and over 20 Turtles showed up! It was TURTLETASTIC! We all went on an adventure with Agent X who told us about some awesome Turtle Space plans including a new name, Turtle Social and renovations of the website. He also told us that Edgar has been caught popping balloons at this weeks Summer Bash Party! We all travelled to the Lake where we saw Edgar the eagle, we all got into disguises before he saw us and then we jumped out and caught him! He finally flew off and said "I'll be back, Pesky Turtles!" Be on the look out for Edgar!

WDYW: Pirates & Adventures

2013-06-13T08:27:00.000-07:00

Hey turtles! Today i'm starting up our old WDYW sections. WDYW stands for What Do You Want. It's a section of the blog where we ask ou (the turtles) what you want from a certain subject. In the past we have spoken about the Green Fire Club, Official Website, The Official Blog, The Old&New town, Parties and clothing in Turtle World. (Back in the winter) Now we will be starting fresh with Pirates and Adventures. Let's begin!

As you may know by now, during the next few weeks, we are going in a great new pirate adventure!

The message is from Egypt. Signed by "Captain Green Beard".

So today we are asking you guys about pirates, what sort of adventures do you think they get up to on their journey. What do you think (and hope) this next expedition will bring. What do you think Captain Green Beard means as he says "found a very large treasure in Egypt"? Let us know with your amazing ideas.

Would you like to set sail with a pirate? Would you like to explore islands, caves and the all-mighty depths of what could be a Pirate Island? What do you think?

I sure am excited for our next Turtleicious journey, this is going to be Fantastic! Don't you think so?

Turtles are expected to set sail sometime within the next few weeks of the summer.
Are you ready for this adventure?

Let us know in the comments below!

CREATE! Make your own turtle using a cardboard bowl!

2013-05-16T14:51:00.003-07:00

Hi turtles! Chief here :). I found this awesome Arts & Crafts tutorial that shows you how to make your own awesome Turtle at home with basic materials. Get creating and crafting and do something CREATIVE!

Materials Needed:

Paper Bowl
Cardboard
Green Grassy Paint
Googly Eyes
Sticky Glue
Sharp Scissors (Get an adult to help you with these!)
Paint Brush

Instructions:

Use scissors to cut out turtle legs, head, and tail from cardboard. You can use a cereal box or any other thinner cardboard you can find.

Paint the back side of the bowl green along with the head, legs, and tail. While I painted mine green, use your imagination and paint your turtle using whatever colors and designs you like.

Once all of the paint is dry you can glue the legs, head, and tail under the turtle body. Glue the wiggle eyes onto the turtle's head.

Frequently Asked Questions, Minor game updates & More!

2013-04-24T12:18:00.000-07:00

Heyo Turtles!

Before i start, this isn't going to be your usual small post, so get ready to read a bit.

First i'd like to talk to you all about bugs, glitches, improving, adding new features and upgrades to the site and about BETA.

As some of you may know, Turtle World is currently in BETA Testing mode.

Before i begin, Here is what the defenition of BETA Testing is;

A beta version of a program, game etc... is an unfinished version released to either the public a select few or whoever signs up to beta test it for bugs or glitches.

Whilst Turtle World is in BETA Testing mode; you WILL find and experience many bugs and glitches. If you don't know what they are; Bug's and Glitches are aspects of the game which aren't supposed to be there, don't work as wished, look or act wierd to usuall or anything along those lines. You will also know that everything during BETA testing either takes time to release, is delayed, or is right on time(Hardly). Which is why we aren't making any promises for new features right now; although we have most of the game to work on.

BETA to us, is about working our hardest to get the base of the game (All the normal features a game needs; friends list, houses, working inventory systems, areas etc...) and to get as many users as possible to help out and test the game before we release it in a "Live" Edition.

If you find a Bug or Glitch, please please please tell us about it! We want to fix up everything in the game, also give us Basic ideas of how to make the game better or how to improve current features.

http://turtlespace.webs.com/apps/forums/show/14392184-report-bugs-glitches

There have been many small minor improvements to the game.

First, the FPS Have been updated. So the game will now run smoother and faster.
Inventory Updates, You can now see each others items(This is only 50% done. We are aware of the many bugs and glitches and our amazing programming team are working around the clock to fix these bugs and glitches. Keep sending new ones in!)
Chat Glitches have been fixed!
The chat log/chat box now has been updated with a Close button.
There are new Chat Bubbles for everyone!

Every day, The team and I are asked many different questions. So today; I'll be answering most of the Frequently Asked Questions.

Q-I found a glitch, What should I do?

A-Post it on Turtle Space here- http://turtlespace.webs.com/apps/forums/show/14392184-report-bugs-glitches
