I was shocked to see that there was already 32 people online, and I jumped into a game with no hassle. One thing I love about the game is the ability to pick up weapons! This is very handy when you are regularly a sniper, but at the moment, the Bazooka that the guy you just killed was carrying looks very appetizing.

Another GREAT feature that adds a lot of strategy to the game is the Sprint function. By normal ways your soldier will walk, and if you NEED to run, you tap, and then hold the up analog stick. By doing this your character will sprint, BUT he will also lose his energy (which is represented by a meter in the lower left corner). Once he regains his energy you may sprint again. This is very much like real life, and is a healthy alternative to those other games that let you sprint continuously around maps with irregard to the fact that humans, and especially weapon-carrying soldiers DO get tired, and slow down.

He is capable of easily scaling buildings, jumping (and later gliding) from rooftop to rooftop, making dramatic drops from the tops of skyscrapers to the streets below, electrically sliding across train tracks and power lines...there are just so many ways that Cole can use his powers and the environment to make even the most basic movements a thrill. One aspect of the game that surprised me because it was so unexpected is the platforming. There are several sections of the game where Cole has to platform across areas to accomplish mission objectives and these parts of the game are just awesome, especially the levels in the sewers. Cole's ever evolving abilities make the platforming more and more fun as the game progresses. In a nutshell, just moving Cole around Empire City is a thrill. I don't recall ever playing an open world game where this was the case.

The other great element of the gameplay is the combat. It's extremely satisfying and extremely fun. Especially when fighting at street level, a battle with multiple enemies can look up looking like a big budget Jerry Bruckheimer production. Electricity and bullets flying everywhere, explosions bursting all around you, cars and bodies getting hurled through the air...you have to see it to believe it. It's just as fun as it sounds. Enemies attack from around you, above, and below. As Cole's powers become more advanced and more destructive, he gains the abilities to wipe out huge groups of enemies in seemingly unlimited ways, which makes you feel like a truly powerful being. And when you combine the combat with the exceptional freedom of movement the game provides, it just multiplies the fun factor. Bottom line, this is a fun game to play. One of the funnest I've ever played.

There are a couple of improvements that could be made. While the game isn't visually weak in any way, it doesn't have a striking visual style that so many other games this generation do have. This is not a hindrance in any way. The graphics are very satisfactory, if unspectacular. Another issue has to do with the climbing mechanic, a double edged sword. When Cole is either jumping or falling and passes close by a surface that can be grabbed, he will grab it. 90% of the time, this is a good thing. It is necessary to be able to keep Cole under control in these situations without too much difficulty. But there are also times when it becomes a nuisance, like for instance when you are trying to grab an item that is hovering beneath the window sill of the 13th floor of a 25 story building. Like the graphics, this is not a game breaker in any way, just a minor flaw that doesn't detract from the overall enjoyment of the game at all.

Though I would love to see another Sly Cooper title, I was not a bit disappointed with this title. Sucker Punch is a top notch developer and this lives up to the pedigree.

The Assassin's Creed series is one of those free games that tries something new with something that exists. This is a great sandbox game with a great story that is able to accomplish all this without drastically changing or innovating.

I'm kind of a conspiracy junky myself. I like good history conspiracy stories so my saying the story is great might be a touch biased. Even so it is a decent story that sucks you in when it's moving forward. Of course it's not always moving forward, but even when the story is moving there is plenty to do in this game. Brotherhood really doesn't change much from AC2, but the climbing and freerunning seem a little more fluid and easy to get right. There are still the occasions when Ezio shows his prowess by randomly grabbing a ledge two feet off the ground, but that's normally the players fault and is only an inspiration to maybe work harder on your parkour skills. Which leads me to talk about the many new additions in the game.

First is the Virtual Training which was a fantastic idea. I personally have found that it has actually made me a little better at the game. It's fun to get the medals, but actually helping is something superb. The ability to leave the Animus is also a great idea. I always wanted to see more of the Desmond story in AC2, but realize maybe it wasn't very prudent. However, in Brotherhood the Desmond story is actually something that is somewhat dynamic and having the setting be at the Villa is just a nice touch.

Now for the real deal. I will go on record saying that this multiplayer is one of the greatest that I have ever seen. I still like a good fragfest once in a while, but getting blown to pieces on Halo and COD just gets old after a while especially when the perks and customizations are weak. AC:B took the multiplayer norm and threw it out the window and said "Slow the hell down and let's actually think while we're playing." The fact that the way you win in taking your time and being patient might frustrate some, but I find it brilliant. When I only get 4 kills and beat a person with 20 kills is amazing. This is a tense, edge-of-your-seat, multiplayer experience. This isn't a passive game and you really have to try and pay attention. The learning curve is gentle and doesn't just let you get annihilated when you first start. With patience and a great strategy, you'll win without even trying.

The gameplay overall is basically the same as AC2, but the small additions like being able to jump off a huge tower directly to your horse and throwing heavy weapons is something that still satiates the thirst for something new. The new gadgets also help throw a twist in some of the strategies that you attempt by giving you the ability to poison from a distance and parachute from building to building. The way that you can build and renovate Rome is fun, but lacks some things. Getting to the point where you're getting 50,000 florins every time you're withdrawing from the bank is great and the different items that some shops have is fun. However, renovating Rome falls short. I haven't finished the game yet, but when I buy a shop and it makes itself look nice, I expected to buy the Colosseum and see it at least clean itself up. It's nice to see a decrease in the guard presence as you start rebuilding Rome, but I wanted to truly REBUILD Rome. It's still fun, but I do have a gripe with that.

I won't go into much more, but I'll finish by saying that this game is a must buy for the people who want a sandbox game that doesn't include health increases by banging a hooker and hunting wild animals in the wilderness. The story delivers and I can't wait to see how the whole thing comes together, and I love building Rome while planning out my assassinations and building up my assassin's guild. I wish they would have added maybe a few more gameplay additions and maybe does some design upgrades, but it still is a great experience. I give this a 9 out 10 and would tell any person to buy this shooting games . No doubt.

I'm sure cheats will surface in a few months, but for now, stick to building your character before you venture online. That said, the online side of this is incredibly fun. I'm guessing this will be hard to find once folks find out about that.

Please realize this is NOT like a character gaming experience, although the career engine and other features are very robust. To be very honest, this is basically a workout game that, with competition, makes you forget the cardio side long enough to really sweat! If you think of it in the same vein as aerobics, you'll love it, and not expect a lot of deep story lines and intrigue. Bosses are great fun-- a throwback to my era of tough endings! Cheat Hint: to beat bosses, assume they each have a "weakness."

Warning to parents with younger kids: my grandkids can't punch hard enough or correctly enough to use this, and unless they are tall, the camera angle of the MOVE in general may be too high and steep to pick up the full range of their motion. Also, kids love to move around, and if you do the rope a dope shuffle with this game, it will stop tracking your hits. Your feet have to stay glued to the floor with this one, so don't waste your money if it is for too young kids (under 5 or 6, depending on height)! Remember also, there are numerous "special" movements of the move controllers that have to be learned, like jumping, ducking, bobbing and weaving, etc. The balance of light in the room has to be right, or one of the controllers or head tracking will be disabled, which makes it a much tougher fight, because the system doesn't "see" you move your head, and you have to duck with buttons and controller flicks, dropping your guard.

Remember also, when you first get a controller, you need to "sync" it to the console by plugging it into the USB and pressing the playstation (on) button. Holding the trigger down and swiping up, down, right and left enables menus, otherwise you'll be switching back and forth between wireless and move controllers. Also, don't forget that you need the little bluetooth broadcast chip in the usb to pick up the wireless signals, from the move controllers, or the nav controller. If the screen says to use the (i) button for input, and you notice there is no (i) button on the move controller, what they mean is to hold the trigger down and swish continually to the right or left to increase or decrease the parameter (weight, difficulty level, age, etc.).
