A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.

A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.

3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.

3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. Vizio has made a believer out of me
I've purchased a number of HD sets for myself and for friends over the last few years. When my Samsung 46" DLP bit the dust (CPU) a few weeks ago, I wanted to replace it with Samsung 46" LED 3D set, but could not fit it into my wall unit or into my budget. I came across the Vizio sets in Costco and bought this set the day they were unpacked onto the shelves. The 42" fits perfectly into the 42" wall unit. The fact that it had speakers on the front of the unit and most plasma and other flat screens I looked at did not, also was a big plus given my space was a 3 foot deep box meant for a traditional TV. I actually returned a Panasonic and LG set of the same size for that reason.

The extra $500 for this set was well worth it for the additional features that I use today and will use in the future. I bought it for the 480hz refresh rate and the built in WiFi and Bluetooth radios as well as the compatability with my wireless N router. It streams HD Video almost instantly with no buffer pauses at all. The universal remote/keyboard with bluetooth connectiviity is also a big plus. Setup was a breeze. My only complaint was having to spend an hour or so adjusting the picture settings to get the color and brightness just where I wanted it. Sound quality is good, but hooking the Digital Optical cable to your stereo makes for a very high quality experience. The Internet Apps are great. I hooked up my Amazon, Pandora, Netflix and Facebook accounts in a matter of minutes and I'm really impressed with how it handles them.
My only real complaint is the lack of ACtive Shutter 3D glasses. The Real 3D ones you get in theaters do not work on any 3D broadcasts from DirecTV and I"m not about to spend an additional $200 for the Active Shutter ones to play with that technology. In a year, when it's more prevalent, I know I'll have a BluRay player with 3D titles and I also know Vizio supports all known 3D standards out there right now.
A great set that keeps getting better with each day of exploration.

Awesomeness
First off let me say I have been looking at 3D tv's for a long time work with computers everyday and have an extensive knowledge on the technical aspects of any piece of hardware. This TV is truely bang for your buck. The refresh rate being at 480 pretty much future proofs your set and you can rest assure any format updates for hdmi or 3D technology will be able to be provided via firmware to the set. I love gaming and if you are a gamer like me that wants to expierence an awesome no ghosting picture on xbox 360, pc or ps3... I have sent this tv to the ringer and it has come out like Tyson in his prime. 3D will be availiable to this set through vudu which is full 1080p@24hz similar to current bluray players. All other formats are supported (like the ones you get from cable or streaming over youtube or downloaded videos and soon to be netflix.... these are usually called SBS or side by side, this set also supports over and under which is just another format of SBS all these formats are used in games or cable programs and the set performs top notch here keeping the resolution in HD range due to active technology.)
To sum it up this set is at the top of the 3D market for a few reasons.
1) Active technology running on 1080p@24hz as of now is the only tech that give you a full 1080p HD picture with no loss where passive interleves the picture cutting the resolution in half and this is a no go for most gamers.

2) Active SBS technology takes that same 1080p signal and splits the images into two angles then recombines them to give you still an HD signal but closer to 720p than 1080p but has become the standard for most cable providers, netflix, youtube ect. due to the bandwith it saves. If your set is SBS passive then i feel bad for you cause you have 2 forms of loss happening now the first splitting that 1080p signal into two images then the interleaving for 3D effect..... giving you close to a 540i signal.

3) LED TV!!!! And not only led but full array led. This means your blacks are darker and your colors are more defined crisp and sharp. There are litterally red green and blue leds in your set that can now illuminate to help the color portfolio of each pixel on your screen. Top of the line in LCD technology.

3)PC 3d gaming can be done either by nvidia's solution or ATI HD3D and iz3d drivers. Nividia's setup is a bit simpler but performance is lacking and usually you have to scale the graphics down for the framerate to pick up. I've recently updated my video card to the ati HD 5670 and could not be happier. First off you will want to get the iz3d driver and make sure you chose the full install of the release canidate. Purchase the AMD 3DHD license which is half off. Make sure your LCD is connected via HDMI and in the catalist control panel select the 1080p@24hz resolution and scale it to 0 overscan. Enable the iz3d driver and you will be well on your way. Any other refresh rate will work great on the tv under normal circumstances but it needs to be running at 24hz to use the amd HD3D features

Vizio - I'm a believer
OK, well here goes. I've had this TV now for about 5 full days (got it right before Labor Day Weekend). Ordered it off Amazon and paid $3.99 for PRIME One-Day Shipping (This is NOT one of those TVs that Amazon has special delivered through a TV delivery service as it is super-thin and light [<50 lbs]).
EASE OF SETUP [9 out of 10]
Pretty easy TV to setup. I am using it primarily as a computer monitor, however the PC I have plugged into it has Blu-Ray, Blu-Ray 3D, and TV Tuner functionality, plus I'm playing a few PC Games on it, so I consume a pretty wide variety of content on this TV. The boxing was very well thought out. The boxing? What? Yeah I know its a weird thing to mention, but Vizio has a really neat box for all of their TV's (my Uncle bought a 55" Vizio last year with a similar box). Basically, you stand the box upright, remove four black tabs from the box, and then the entire box, with the exception of the base, just pulls right off. Then you can remove the styrofoam from the TV and you're good to go. No having to make it a 2-man job and having someone hold the cardboard box exterior while you tug a snug-fitting styrofoam shell out of the box. None of that crap.
Got the TV out of the box. I didn't wall mount so I can't speak to that. Installing the base was a sinch. Just slapped it on (it did take a wee bit more pressure than what I would have imagined) and used the provided thumbscrew to secure the base to the bottom of the TV. Then, I just propped it up on a table (I live in a college dorm, so no room for an entertainment center), plugged in the standard power cable, and was just about good to go. That's where I hit a little snag.

For some reason, I wanted to try it out by DIRECTLY plugging it into the cable first (my university uses a direct ClearQAM via Coax distribution system. No set-top boxes) instead of just plugging in my computer via HDMI and using my computer's TV Tuner. Vizio clearly intended to make the wall-mounted experience as seamless as possible and, as such, the ports (both HDMI and Coax) on the TV face DOWNWARDS (so that the cables can run PARALLEL to the TV, not stick out a few inches perpendicularly (which would be problematic for some wall mounters)). The only problem with that design is that the little indented area where you plug in the cable isn't very large and, as such, you have to use pretty flexible cables otherwise it'll be a PITA to plug them in. Well, the only coax cable I had sitting around was an old stiff one. Add to that that it was the style that you have to screw in, as opposed to just pushing in. I literally spent 15 minutes trying to screw in the coax cable but was unable to, as coax cables need to go on straight - an impossibility with a stiff cable and the small caveat where the cables are plugged in. So I decided to forgo the direct coax hookup and just use my computer's tv tuner via HDMI. I had a few non-rigid HDMI cables, and was able to get those setup without issue. I just want to warn that if you have very STIFF cables, you might run into some issues plugging them in the COAX and HDMI 1-4 ports.

Once I got the computer plugged in, I turned on the TV and was able to whiz through the basic setup. Most of the setup steps didn't apply, as they were meant for setting up cable boxes or direct COAX connections or the like. For me, it was pretty much just (1) turn the TV on, (2) switch to HDMI 1, (3) boot up the PC. Once I got the PC booted up, I noticed that there were ~1.5" borders around the visable computer screen area. I was able to remove these and blow up my desktop to the entire area of the visible TV by adjusting the Size and Position settings (Hit MENU, then TV SETTINGS, then PICTURE, then MORE, then SIZE AND POSITION). That was when I was running my ATI RADEON 5770 Graphics Card. Strangely enough, I upgraded my graphics card to an EVGA NVIDIA GTX 560TI later that day, and then I only saw a portion of my desktop on the screen. At first I thought that something was wrong with the graphics card. But then I remembered that the image on the ATI was underscanned and I had had to compensate in the TV Settings. Sure enough, I reset the Vertical and Horizontal Size and - voila! - the desktop was the perfect size again. I also tested my Apple TV and Xbox 360 on this TV and their pictures are perfectly fit to the TV on default settings. So, basically, only SOME older graphics cards will have the issue I explained, and it can be easily remedied.

Finally, I noticed the image seemed somewhat dark. Not unwatchable (at least by my standards), but bothersome. I remembered something I'd read about Vizio's Ambient Light Sensor, and went about finding where I could customize that particular setting. After I turned it off, the picture was damn-near perfect (To turn Ambient Light Sensor OFF, Hit MENU, then TV SETTINGS, then PICTURE, then MORE, then ADVANCED PICTURE, and finally hit ENTER once you get to AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR and choose the OFF option). The brightness level seemed good (some may want to increase the Backlight and/or Brightness options just a smidge still; these can be found in the basic PICTURE settings; I ended up doing this myself). The image really needs no calibration after you turn off the AMBIENT LIGHT SENSOR IMHO.

PICTURE QUALITY (2-DIMENSIONAL) [10 out of 10]
The nice thing about this TV's brightness/color settings is their FLEXIBILITY. I was sitting on the couch with a couple of my roommates, and we each found a mix of color and brightness settings that we liked. My one roommate prefered it with more color, the other with less color, and I prefered it with a smidge more color and a bit more brightness. If you're super-picky or whatever, you will probably be able to find a mix of settings that you love - it might just take a while. But, this TV looks GREAT almost right out of the box. The LED backlighting really does make all the difference. I have an LCD TV/monitor (about 1.5 years old, 24", Samsung, pretty nice monitor when I got it) in the other room, and going back and forth between the two was like night and day. The LCD appeared overly dimmed, and its colors didn't POP.

The LED backlighting, far from washing out the colors as one might expect (since LEDs lead to higher brightness levels), actually enhance colors, making them seem naturally vibrant. That's what I mean when I say that the colors POP. OK, enough about color and brightness --- let's talk about the elephant in the room - the 480 Hz Refresh Rate. Some insist that it's only "really" 240 Hz, but does it really matter? I mean, the difference between 240 Hz and 480 Hz is invisible to the human eye. Are you telling me that your eyes can tell the difference between frames flashed at it in 1/480th of a second (approximately 0.002 sec)??? Don't flatter yourself. However, the difference between the Vizio's advertised 480 Hz and the 60 Hz of a regular TV, and the 24 or 30 Hz of a standard film and TV broadcast respectively, is quite visible. Obviously, Vizio can't magically turn 24 Hz content into 480 Hz content. But it can attempt to smooth the motion by "guessing" at the frames in between. Noone can expect this to be perfect. Typical movies are filmed at 23.976/24 Hz. This TV has the ability to show content at 480 Hz. That means that between every two frames of Hollywood film, the Vizio has to "guess" at what NINETEEN other frames would come in between. And it has to do all this on the fly in a fraction of a second. But I must say, the Vizio handles the job very well.

The question is not so much whether this "Smooth Motion Effect" WORKS, but moreso whether or not you like it. Me, I'm on the fence about it. For watching live action sports, or even playing games, I love it. For TV primetime dramas, it makes the picture look a little too real, I think. But I kinda like it in that application, depending on the TV show. For movies, I generally don't like it. There's something about the juddery-ness of film that adds to its genuinity, in my mind. Others may disagree. But the great thing is that, not only can you turn the "Smooth Motion Effect" on and off easily depending on your tastes, Vizio actually gives you a few options ("off", "low", "medium", and "high"). Last but not least, the picture has great color uniformity. Some may complain it isn't a FULL ARRAY LED screen, but I actually like the EDGE LIT LED screen, because EDGE LIT LEDs don't suffer from any image "blooming."

PICTURE QUALITY (3-DIMENSIONAL) [9.5 out of 10]
First thing you gotta know about 3-D is this: if the 3-D image comes out looking bad on this TV, its more than likely a problem with the CONTENT that you are using, not the TV. Certain 3-D video games, and even highly compressed or bad;y converted 3D movies WILL have ghosting. What's ghosting, you ask? Ghosting is basically when you see a faint extra copy of an image, kind of like a full-color shadow, while watching 3D. For certain applications, ghosting can be quite annoying if it occurs. For example, playing video games, especially shooters, where there is severe ghosting is tough - because it makes it hard to know if you are shooting the opponent or his "ghost" image. Watching movies with high level of detail can be tough too, as ghosting can have the effect of making the image appear blurry. The other thing about 3D --- a lot of 3D content cannot be shown at full HD resolutions or at full frame rates. For example, 3D video games have a max framerate of 24 fps because of limitations in the HDMI 1.4a standard (this might get fixed via firmware update later on). 24fps PER EYE is good for watching film and for most gamers, but a lot of hardcore gamers feel uncomfortable playing a video game below 35-40 fps. And regarding resolution. Certain film/TV content (known as half-SBS content) that you can download from the Internet or watch on Youtube, is naturally going to be lower-res than its 2D bretheren. That's because, when you have a 1080p half-SBS image, each eye is only receiving a 1920x540 image, instead of a 1920x1080 image. Blu Ray 3D uses a proprietary technology called frame-packing to provide each eye with a 1080p FULL-SBS image, meaning both eyes each get a full 1920x1080 image.

This is one of the reasons why, if you compare Blu Ray 3D content to other 3D content (shown on the same screen), the Blu Ray 3D will be noticeably superior. 3D Blu Rays also tend to have less ghosting. For the purposes of grading this TV's 3-D image quality, I used the highest quality 3D content only (in my case, a 3D Blu Ray for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition). I could have referenced how half-SBS or gaming looks in 3D, but that wouldn't have been an analysis of the TV's performance, but rather an analysis of the current mediocrity of these standards. The 3D Blu Ray looked superb. Please note that the Vizio's 3D is not so much pop-out-of-the-TV-in-your-face 3D, but more of looking-through-a-window 3D. There's a little POP, but not much (I tested using the NVIDIA 3dTV Play driver test image with 3d effect set to 100% and the image seemed to come out of the TV only marginally). But I actually prefer this 3D effect to the pop-out 3-D effect. This effect makes it look like there is a whole world inside your TV that you are looking into. There is great depth INSIDE the image.

It reminds me of the closet that the Pensieve kids go into, only to find there's a whole freaking world in the back of the closet (Narnia). Kind of like the whole freaking world inside my TV LOL. The image clarity and 3D effect when watching a 3D Blu Ray is superb, and I didn't notice any ghosting AT ALL (though I did notice some while using lesser non-Blu-Ray-3D content). The Vizio obviously can't make ghosting disappear from content where its inherent, but it doesn't create any unnecessary ghosting or artifacts in high-quality 3D content that doesn't have any inherently.

AUDIO [9 out of 10]
Well, its a TV, what can you expect? Someone somewhere along the line got the idea that TV's should sound like they have a $300 surround sound system built in. That's ridiculous. If you want a 1200W speaker system, BUY a 1200W Home Theater Package, don't expect it to come out of your 2" thick flat panel TV that cost $750!! The Vizio's built in speakers are surprisingly good, though IMHO. They are LOUD. The highest level I've played them at is a 28 (out of 100). When you turn the volume up, speech is crisp, and there is no crackling. Does the Vizio make your house shake with bass? No, obviously not. However it reproduces sounds, minus the big-time bass, just fine for an immersive movie experience.

VIZIO INTERNET APPS/INTERNET CONNECTIVITY/BLUETOOTH REMOTE [9.5 out of 10]
Again, this is a TV. The Internet Apps are a nice touch, but if you really want a hard-core flawless internet experience on your TV, hook up your computer or dedicated box (Roku, Apple TV, etc.). Internet setup was a breeze --- pick your wifi network out of the list, type in the password, and you're good to go. The TV will even automatically update the apps bar when you connect to the Internet for the first time. The basic apps are pretty much Weather, Netflix, Twitter, Amazon VOD, Finance, Web Videos, and VUDU. IMO, the vast majority of people will just use the Netflix/Amazon VOD features. The Facebook App is well implemented - and I can see people occasionally wanting to update their status from the couch - but reading the news feed is a bit too cumbersome. The Netflix and Amazon VOD apps are well-done, and WORK. There are a few other apps you can download (like CNBC, which I like, and Soduko, which is also pretty good), but the Vizio App Library is overall pretty unimpressive.

The Bluetooth Remote however, is quite the opposite. Reminiscant of a feature phone made for texting, the vizio remote control has a flip out keyboard. It also has a nice form factor, not to long like some remotes, but not too wide nor thick either. Its the perfect size remote IMO. The one thing they could have done to make it better was to add a backlight but hey, you can't have it all. Speaking more about bluetooth support generally, I think its a great idea. I live in a dorm room with two roommates, and I think it'd be great to obtain a 3.5mm-bluetooth adapter and listen to my TV on my Beats by Dre when my roommates are sleeping or studying. Haven't tried it yet, but intend to.

STYLE [10 out of 10]
Again, I have no idea what people expect a TV to look like. LIke something made by Da Vinci? You want Art, go to the Louve. You wanna watch the game, go to your TV. The Vizio looks plain, but classy, with an unobtrusive logo. Not to mention, I'm proud to have the VIZIO logo out there for everyone to see. If someone has a problem with me having a high-quality TV from an underrated manufacturer that actually keeps SOME of its jobs in the good ole U.S. of A. then they can just STICK IT!

VALUE [11 out of 10]
I picked up this TV for $750 on Amazon, plus $4 for ONE DAY SHIPPING. No Tax. Wouldn't have paid anything for shipping if I'd gone with 2-day, but, what can I say, I'm an impatient dude :). Plus, I got TWO PAIR of 3-D glasses for $25 (normally $85-$125 on Amazon) as part of a promo for this TV (Amazon's been running the promo off and on the past few months). So like $780 for the TV and 2-pair of glasses that got to me in one-day. That's a superb deal. If you want to get a good (120 Hz) non-3D 42" Class LED TV, you're going to be shelling out around $700 already. And, if you buy from a big box store in the good ole State of California (LA Area), you'll pay 9.75% sales tax on that AND a $10 monitor recycling fee. So basically, if I would have bought an INFERIOR TV (2D vs. the Vizio's 3D, 120Hz vs. the Vizio's 480Hz, potentially no Internet Apps vs. the Vizio's Internet Apps, etc.) at a brick and mortar store here in LA, I would have ended up paying around $779 [($700 * 1.0975) + 10] anyway. And, since I don't own a car, I would have had to inconvenience a friend to drive me to and back from said brick and mortar store (as I'm not too hot on the idea of lugging a brand new, boxed 42" HDTV through the streets of South Central Los Angeles). And when you compare the Vizio against TVs that are ACTUALLY IN ITS CLASS, that's when I really feel like I almost stole this TV.

You want something like this, with a close-to-equivalent feature-set from Sony, Samsung, or Panasonic, you'lll end up dropping more than $1K, that's for sure. I'd estimate that the Vizio sells for $300-$400 less than what an equivalent set from the Big-3 costs. And the Vizio has exceptional picture quality. I don't see how you can top it, and I definitely can't see how, even if you could top it, you could top it by enough to qualify a $400 price premium. Unless the Sony, Samsung, and Panny wake me up in the morning and serve me breakfast in bed, there is no way in hell that their price premium is justifiable. No way.

Amazing
I purchased this TV to replace a 3 year old Magnivox LCD that developed a dark spot right after the first year of course. I don't like the way the 480 hz looks unless I'm playing my PS3, but luckily you can turn that feature off. The picture is outstanding, it was dark but it turns out it was because the ambient light sensor. Turned that off and the picture just seemed to POP and it looks amazing. The audio is great on the TV, I had purchased the VHT510 for the Magnivox and I almost don't need it with this TV, but of course still use it for the surround sound. The only little quirk I noticed was the widget gallery didn't have any widgets in it, I called VIZIO tech support and they walked me through a quick process of resetting the TV and it works like a charm now. I do recommend that you have at least a 10 Mb connection if you decide to use the widgets, you'll have a much smoother experience watching Netflix and Vudu. As far as connecting it to my ancient Linksys router, it was simple and easy. I use WPA security encryption and no problems connecting. I really haven't utilized the 3D aspect of the TV yet so stay tuned for that review, I apologize I'm sure more people care about that aspect than any other. All in all, I don't think you'll find a better 42" especially one that includes 3D for this price.

Some problems that need a firmware update
Some issues with the game mode and smart dimming.
Game mode flickers a black screen when playing games on your ps3 and xbox360. and smart dimming goes completely dark when its blue. but a good tv.
Hopefully the firmware fixes.
1. The ambient Sensor that makes the screen too DARK
2. The black screen that flashes and annoys when playing games or movies on the ps3 with game mode on.
3. Artifacts with smooth motion on when objects move fast.
4. A full dark blue screen makes the tv go blank with smart dimming on.
5. SRS Surround audio and Truvolume that makes voices so quiet.
Haven't tried 3D. Hopefully next month.

I'm very pleased with my second purchase of Vizio.
Note that the Internet App doesn't come with Hulu Plus and Blockbuster apps from factory, but if you give it a day or so they will appear in the widget gallery from where you can install them easily.
Pros:
Great picture and sound quality, absolutely competitive with Sony and Samsung.
Bluetooth Audio: You can hook it up with your bluetooth headset or sound system.
Bluetooth Remote Control: you don't have to point it at the tv.
Bunch of Internet apps that work perfectly: I tried Netflix, Hulu, Blockbuster, Amazon, Vimeo and Facebook.
Designed in California, Assembled in Mexico. Not made in China (Except the remote).
Cons:
Turning off the Vizio logo is not an option.
I found the remote control a bit flimsy.
As of now, no support for Youtube videos

What more could you want
I bought this primarily to use as a computer monitor and it looks better than any monitor I have ever owned. I had originally planned to get a 42" without 3D but I had a lucky night at the casino and when I saw this for $750 shipped and the 30 day return shipping I went for it.
I also purchased the 3D glasses from Amazon for $99 even though I didn't expect to be impressed by 3D. I was wrong; the 3D is incredible in the two movies I have watched (Thor and Alice in Wonderland). My son bought the new Batman game for the PS3 and the 3D is incredible in that game also.
The picture quality and color is as good or better than my Sony 46" XBR9 but the Vizio has better black levels. The Sony does have more adjustments but I was able to adjust the picture on the Vizio to my satisfaction.

I watch Blu-Ray on a PS3 and TV from Dish network and they both look fantastic.
The speakers on this TV sound much better than the 32" Insignia I replaced.
I have not had any issues with this TV turning off randomly as some other reviewers stated so I guess the auto firmware update cured that problem

What a deal
I can't say enough good things about this TV. The picture is phenomenal and everything I put on it from low resolution TV shows to 1080p video looks amazing. Recent updates have increased the App list to include Netflix, Amazon, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Vudu, TWiT, Revision 3, Blockbuster and others. Vudu even does 3D streaming! The speakers are pretty good for what they are - obviously they don't compare to my home theater speakers, but when I don't want to shake the walls the TV's are fine. I wish the button presses were a little bit faster, responsiveness can seem slow (although volume is always instant). The keyboard remote is really cool, but I don't ever really use it. The last update also enabled the side USB ports which, when used with the VIA Media app, can stream music and photos from an external source. A streaming video app that can hook up to my computer over WiFi is really all that's missing from this TV now.
Overall, for the money, this TV can't be beat.

Im In love with this TV
This TV was very easy to set up. When I first took it out of the box and tried to turn it on, it wouldnt. It was doing this weird thing where the vizio logo constantly turned orange and white. Eventually, the TV came on and setup took seconds to complete. I also got the VSB200 soundbar and the remote worked with it like a charm. I found out later that the TV was flashing colors like that because it was power cycling, it did the same exact thing while doing a firmwere update. I turned off the smooth motion and the ambient light sensor..it looked a bit weird for me but it wasnt a problem. The apps are great but I deleted most of them as all I needed was pandora and netflix. There is hulu plus, blockbuster, amazon, and vudu. Also packed in there are some yahoo apps. Uninstalling the apps is very easy. The TV guide app is great except that you cant tune into the channels from the app. Hopefully, they get more apps soon! The 3D is awesome, it was a huge selling point for me and the glasses for 24.99 was a steal. I dont regret this purchase, everything is beautiful!

*Just a side note, Ive been having a bit of an issue screwing a VGA cable into the RGB port, its in an odd position and its really hard to twist the screws without the whole thing just falling off. I might have to lay the tv down and do it!
I live in a 3 bedroom student apartment and my roommates love this TV! Paired with a PS3 and PS3MediaServer, you can stream movies to the tv through an ethernet (I use a homeplug) connection and enjoy 3D games as well as 3D movies and the PS3 even has 3D bluray capabilities! Good times!

A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.

A Source

Snap it up before its gone forever
Lets get this clear. 3d is dead in the water. So why get this? Because you are getting a superb 2d tv for a knockdown price: Full Array LED, multiple zone dimming, 10 million to 1 contrast ratio, 240Hz refresh rate (the 480Hz claim is a marketing gimmick). Try getting all that on a normal 2d tv for under a grand. This is a bargain and it won't last. I get the feeling vendors are now dumping their 3d tvs (for example, on Vizio's own websites the 3d models are 'out of stock', meaning they've cleared out their inventory). Once they are gone, no more bargains like this. The picture quality is stunning. The net apps (streaming HD from netflix and HD 3d streaming from vudu) are great, smooth. The unit just worked out of the box and so far is a pleasure to own. The audio is not 'great' as some reviews claim. It is just OK. You simply can't get deep bass from titchy speakers. The SRS surround sound simulation is ok but the volume levelling feature is annoying and flakey as others have noted. In summary: if you are thinking about it, don't wait too long. Unbelievable, passed the cat test
The picture quality is beyond any expectations. I had been looking primarily for picture quality since I like nature shows. Last night while watching a show about crows, my cat nearly tried to jump off the coffee table to attack the birds on the screen. I had been a bit distracted myself at first since the quality was just beautiful. After watching my cat go sit beneath the screen and watch the remainder of the show, I was certainly convinced I made the right decision. It is a plug and play television with apps that work like they're supposed to. Pandora and Netflix set up in just a few minutes. Never expected such ease of use. Any cons are so minimal they're barely worth mentioning. Thanks to previous reviewers for advice about screen freezes. If the Vizio sign flashes, leave it alone until its done flashing and it will be just fine. It's only happened once in a month and has been great since. Find Pandora under the Widgets tab. If you're a sound snob buy the soundbar and subwoofer. Overall, this product is worth twice the price. : 2011-11-21 23:32:48

Amazed Me
This is my second purchase of a big TV from Amazon. The first one was a disaster, not Amazon's fault , but a poorly designed LED Toshiba ($2000) that had majar hummimg issues. It finally died after 6 years - well..not really - I just elected not to change the $200 bulb since I couldn't stand the humming anymore. What caught my eye on this TV was the following: 46" LED HDTV for less than $1000 The Amazon reviews were coming in very favorable. The 3D option is not serious - there is no way I could watch 3D more than 15 minutes - unless I was looking for a 3D splitting headache. It is kind of "neat" - but the technology needs more work. The Visio brand was not on my short list of "favored" brands - I was looking for a Samsung, LG or Toshiba. But here, the price break was so great, I felt I needed to take a closer look at this model. I had read the reviews and checked out some models at the brick and mortar stores. Bottom line, I liked what I saw, I liked what I was reading in the reviews and combined with the price differential to other models, the deal was sealed. Inital reaction: WOW - the model that arrived at my doorstep far exceeded my admittedly lower expectations based on cost & brand. Very easy to set up . yada yada, very easy to program the remote to work with both directv and my yahama receiver , yada yada, very easy to connect to the internet , yada yada - but it's the 2D picture that is WOW!. What make the picture the WOW? - colors, whites are whites and blacks are blacks - the 480 Mhz doesn;t hurt either - especially if you're big sports fan. Basically if you're watching sports - you feel like you are right there. The movies are better too - even the news is better. Everything is better. And when the grandkids come over, you can let them watch the 3D stuff. They'll enjoy it. Vizio XVT3D474SV Excels in all the right areas
Like many others have admitted, I too spent weeks researching and comparing similarly equipped products on Amazon and through many popular internet review sites. My hesitation with Vizio before purchasing was really around durability, an issue that most sites actually rate Vizio amongst the top in. In the end it came down to any comparable model was likely to run at least $300 more than the $897 I paid for this model and their reviews were frankly not as good. I have now had this TV for 3 weeks and been able to experience a number of different programming options and try out different display settings. So far there has been little in the way of disappointments. Out of the box the screen was a bit bright as is typical but a quick run through an old THX calibration disc I had helped straighten out the contrast and brightness issues. There are a ton of presets for visual settings and "movie" was the closest to what I wanted so I played a bit off of those settings to get my "personal" setting. Having replaced a 60hz traditional LCD, my biggest wish for this TV was to see great contrast. I was sick of watching a black screen during the darkest scenes of many movies on the low contrast LCD I had before. The black levels on this TV are superb, though I wouldn't put them at quite the same level as the high end plasmas as some reviewers have suggested. I haven't noticed any serious blooming which was a minor concern on the 3SV model. The 480hz or whatever this TV actually possesses for a refresh rate is fantastic while watching sports. I have watched many football games so far and the picture was fantastic, however where I really noticed the difference was in the hockey game I watched last night. The image was absolutely stunning and being able to make out one individual black puck on hard passes across the contrasting white ice was what really sold me on this TV. 3D content is difficult to judge. I have two channels through Comcast available, ESPN3D and their other 3D channel that does a lot of Discovery like programming. There has been a wide range of performance between the programs. Boxing on ESPN3D was impossible to watch and I felt like I had been the one punched in the head, seeing double with every motion of the fighters. A documentary on the last shuttle launch was more enjoyable, though lots of motion in 3D is difficult to watch as it is tough to keep the images correctly aligned while moving so quickly. Fantastic HDTV with 3D and Many Apps
Ok, I never leave reviews, in fact this is my first! I wanted to share this as I know how hard it is deciding on a new HDTV. First, I would like to let you know that I have bought 3 big screen TV's in the last year for my large home. My first was the Panasonic TC-GT25, 50 inch plasma 3D. It is a great TV and has an excellent picture and 3D image. I also bought a Samsung UN46C6300 LED HDTV. This one is also a great TV. Whites are a bit brighter than the plasma TV, but it has no 3D. I purchased this Vizio 47 inch with a bit of skepticism, since I had great TV's from Panasonic and Samsung. My budget was limited and it was cheaper than the Samsung and had 3D, where the Samsung didn't. I used my prime membership and got overnight shipping for $2.99. This Vizio is more than great for many reasons! It's price is exceptional and the quality of the picture is Better than the Samsung for less money and has 3D. I think if you are looking for the best 3D picture, you should go plasma, but this Vizio is really close to my Panasonic plasma in 3D! Also, I love the apps! It has so many apps that are very usable, and wifi was picked up immediately on this TV. I had to buy an apapter for my Panasonic, which was $112.00 to get Internet! So, I wanted to let those of you that are skeptical about buying this HDTV, that you will be very happy with your purchase. Coming from someone who has all 3 models, because of a big 2 story home, I think I can shed some light on this subject! Also, the TV is very easy to set up and using the remote becomes very easy, even in the dark, once you get to know all the buttons. If you text, the querty slide out is easy! I got this 47 inch LED 3D HDTV, the Vizio Bluray 3D player, ( also with apps) and 2 free pair of the 3D glasses with overnight shipping from Amazon for a total of $1,022.00 :) Now that's a Deal! A Flat Screen from Heaven!
After reading reviews here and on Cnet, I was driven, consumed, and unfulfilled until I bought the Vizio XVT3D474SV. About six months ago we bought a refurb Vizio 720p 32" screen for the bedroom, and it has performed great, for it's intended purpose. I ordered the XVT3D474SV after a very close comparison to a popular LG model with passive 3D and the Wii type remote. The Vizio is active 3D, and comes with no glasses. I have spent literally hours viewing sets at BB, Sammy's, Wally World, and Sears. Wally World sells Vizio, BB does not, and Sears doesn't stock them here but you can order from a limited selection of models. Wally World and Sammy's carry certain models only.Now here goes my rant........... I have a Panasonic Plasma that I love, and up until the day this Vizio arrived, in my humble opinion, it was the most rich, vibrant image I had ever seen in a Telly. The setup of the XVT3D474SV was so easy and complete, I could have done it with half my brain tied behind my back! They offer a guided setup that covers every aspect except the fine tuning that we all like to tweak with. It found my wireless network and connected with ease. Part of the guide sets up the Bluetooth remote for you, and with the touch of a button, the remote was programmed to operate my cable box, something I particularly liked. After setup, I powered up the cable box, it was on an HD movie channel, and I nearly soiled my trousers. The image from this LCD, full array LED set blew the socks off my plasma, and is better than any Samsung, Sony, or LG set I have seen at any price, including the sets that go for three grand. You can tweak the settings to your personal liking, but you will find crisp, clear, vibrant video that will mak you wonder if Amazon made a mistake and left a leading 1 off the price. Not just a bargain, a downright steal. Have not tried the 3D yet, but from the reviews, it is very decent. Most people do not watch a lot of 3D, so average performance will be fine with me. i truly expect the 3D to be something to rant about also, and will once we pick a 3D Blu-Ray, and some active shutter glasses. Vizio is supposed to release a replacement for this set in October, but a s with all new models, the bang for the buck cannot be beat, even if the set shines above the XVT3D474SV. Get one of these before they are gone. I defy you to find any other set at the $950 price point that is even close to the picture quality of this model. One step further, you cannot find a $1,500 set that provides the viewing experience I am talking about here. If I had it to do over, I would have bought the 55" model, it is similarly discounted, but you pay for the extra screen size. The full array LED is not on the 42" model, it is edge-lit, and I believe the refresh is 120. Probably not a bad set, but the 47" and up models are full array LED, which means the LED banks go throughout the screen for more accurate correction of inherent flaws in LCD screens relative to brightness errors, and deeper colors. Also, I have seen many LED sets with a 120 hz refresh that still suffer from motion blur, like in sporting events and fast action scenes. My Vizio advertises a 480hz refresh rate, which I believe is truly a 240hz with interpolation to 480. There is absolutely no motion blur on this set, just like the plasma sets, as this motion blur thing is another inherent flaw in the LCD type HD television. Buy a 47" or the corresponding 55" model, and buy it from Amazon. I ordered on Tuesday and it was on my doorstep Thursday, at a price that is fantastic. I am not an electronics expert who knows all the terms dealing with flat screens, LCD vs. plasma, optimal refresh rates, hue, color saturation and the like, but I am anal about reading every review I can find, and I spent a lot of time studying the images of LG, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Philips, Toshiba, and the Vizio models for sale locally. OK, my ranting and raving is over for now. They could have made the widgets for Netflix, Vudu and the like full screen, but I can deal with it. I have never heard good audio from built in speakers inside any flat screen, and the audio here is average. Those two issues are the only downsides I can come up with, the audio I can fix, just like you have to do with any brand and model at any price, and I can live with the Netflix and Vudu widgets being. 1/3 screen instead of full screen although the Vudu does go full screen after you make a keystroke with the cool Vizio Bluetooth remote. Great Value for a Great TV
We ordered the Vizio through Amazon just as we did our Samsung a year earlier. All went perfectly which is way above my expectations. We had Directv bring over a cable to feed it HD and Voila!, worked and continues to work perfectly. The picture is second to none (we haven't tried the 3D yet so no comments regarding that, and actually don't care that much). In 2D this thing will knock your eyes out (in a good way). Believe it or not, the TV sound is great. It's twice the sound quality of my Samsung. It's perfect for anyone who doesn't necessarily want an additional sound system. I've only had it up to about 30%, but that's very loud for us. The widgets start-up is slower than molasses, but I think that's a function of most TVs in general. Once they load up, they're very responsive and easy to use. We called Vizio customer service...they spoke American English and were patient and courteous; terrific, they helped us get the widgets started. We did use the price matching service offered by Amazon and again, they did exactly what they said they would do. Wonderful TV - can't beat the quality at this price
I'll try and keep this brief and highlight some of the very best and very worst things about this set. I'm reviewing the XVT3D474SV. First of all, if you're considering this vs. the 42 inch, realize that they are NOT the same TV. The 42 inch does not have the back lighting like the 47 inch does. The 47 and 55 inch Vizio units are both in the higher tier. PROS: -BEAUTIFUL 2D picture. Great color contrast. Remarkable blacks for an LED unit. White and colors are obviously good. Excellent sharpness, 480hz refresh rate, etc. You won't find a similar or better picture for anything less than $2,000. Animated films at 1080p look absolutely incredible - jaw dropping. -Above average sound for a LED TV. Speakers also face forward. However, with a picture this nice, you should invest in surround sound. -Vizio Apps are fun. Ability to stream Netflix is neat, and Vudu works great if you have a fast connection. Streaming 1080p movies for a few bucks a pop with their HDX looks GREAT. -Qwerty remote is pretty solid, does the job. -TV looks great out of the box. Calibration is extremely easy for some minor tweaks. -Back lit TV with smart dimming - better than other purely edge-lit LEDs in the same $800-1,400 price range. -This TV was $1,398 at Sam's Club as of March 2011. Might be worth shopping around for the best price. -TV has a game mode (but read below, it doesn't make a huge difference because there is still some input lag). TV looks GREAT with Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. -I don't have any issues with light bleed/flash lighting, ghosting, halo effects, etc. From an angle with a completely dark screen, you might notice your black fading to grey a little, but this wouldn't be your normal viewing angle. You also notice some when you turn on the TV right when it starts up, but I've heard the smart dimming does not cut on until the set actually gets beyond the initial start-up screen. CONS: -I have not tried the 3D on this TV and hear it isn't the greatest. However, I don't know that there are many TVs that do great 3D (plasmas are the best) and there still isn't a lot of content in 3D. I bought this TV for the great 2D picture. The features on this TV that help produce a 3D image (480hz, etc.) also do wonders for the 2D mentioned earlier. -DirecTV remote has trouble syncing with this TV and most Vizio TVs. Not a huge deal, just cut them on one at a time. -Screen is not 100% matte, so there is a tiny bit of glare. However, it isn't as pronounced as with some other brands. The frame itself is also a little more clunky than a lot of stuff that is coming out this year, and the TV is thicker than most LEDs (because of the back lighting). I'd consider this a non-issue unless you really care about having a picture frame TV hung on the wall. -Input lag - almost all LEDs will have some input lag. As compared to my older Panasonic Plasma (which had no input lag), I notice a tiny bit of lag with games like Black Ops. However, it's still completely playable and shouldn't really affect your gaming. I'm very picky and really notice this stuff so I don't think this should be an issue for 99% of gamers. Overall, I'd give this TV a 4.5 out of 5. If they removed the input lag and got a slightly sleeker frame/base, then I think this TV would be a 5 for me. Don't buy this TV for the 3D, buy it for the BEST 2d picture you can find for under $2,000. GREAT TV. FYI, I bought a 50 inch Samsung UN50C8000 Plasma, which had some great reviews. Did not find the colors to be very good, pictures did not pop, sound was terrible. Blacks weren't black, white's were dull. Exchanged the Samsung and got the Vizio. True TV love. UPDATE: June 7, 2011 TV is still going strong, picture still looking great. I've done plenty of gaming on the XBOX 360 and PS3, and the input lag I mentioned earlier in the post is no longer an issue - I guess I quickly adjusted. Still haven't tried 3D. No regrets about the purchase and would still recommend this set. Never see any light bleed common on some other cheaper LED sets. UPDATE: August 9, 2011 Still loving this TV. I have to say, the price has come down considerably on Amazon and also at Sam's Club. I have watched a large number of blu-rays recently, and have to say that they are simply wonderful on the TV. Great TV, great specs, awesome price
Received the set about 2 weeks ago. I paired the TV with an Onkyo AVR and Infinity Entra Point Five 5.1 system. I'm mostly commenting on the video since I have my AVR doing all the audio. Setup was pretty easy. Had all the necessary cables (Monoprice). Using the AVR to up-convert all signals to 1080P. I have one cable going from the AVR to the TV. My XBox is the older model so I have to use the component connection along w/ a Toslink digital cable to the AVR. Xbox looks AWESOME. The set handles DVD, Netflix and gaming all very well. In some dark scenes I got some pixelation on the DVD Takers. It happened once. Other 2 DVD movies I've watched I did not notice pixelation. I think after I tweaked settings on both the TV and the AVR everything was fixed. I'm sure as the days go by and I tweak more it'll get to exactly where I want it. I played both Forza 4 and Gears of War 2 and they were beyond my expectations. Amazing is all I can say. I saw no lag or noise while I was fully immersed in big battle scenes in Gears. The game is pretty dark but I can't recall seeing pixelation. Playing Forza was a whole new experience. The vistas and the tracks just look perfect. I have DirecTV as my sat provider. HD signals look fantastic. Game of Thrones looks like a friggin DVD! Standard def TV looks great too since the AVR is doing the up-conversion but the TV handles the 1080p signals flawlessly. I watched the NBA Finals and the NHL finals and the TV does the high speed action with ease. No blur whatsoever. I guess the 480hz refresh is doing its' job! I've seen some edge-lit LED and they just do not pop like the full array LED does. I also have an AppleTV hooked up and it too looks great. Again here the AVR is converting the 720p signals to 1080p and the TV handles it all in stride. Using Airplay to watch my iPhone vids is really cool. The vids look really good and no matter how crappy my vids are the quality of the video is perfect and there is no motion blur at all. Problem areas? There are a few. No deal breakers for me though. The TV does 3D using active tech. Although I have not yet tested this out (no 3d component yet). Most sets going out nowadays are of the passive type. This basically means that the glasses do most of the work and are therefore more expensive. Again this is not a deal breaker for me because I did not intend to use the 3d capabilities of the set. VIA apps are OK. They are really sluggish and Pandora seems to hang quite a bit so I use the network capabilites of my AVR to play Pandora. Netflix is pretty good but I use the XBox for that. The Yahoo! weather app is OK. Flickr is OK. I just don't see myself using those all that much until they mature a bit. Anyways with my Xbox, AppleTv and AVR all having network capabilities I'd rather use those. So using this TV basically as a giant monitor it does the job hands down. I looked into the Samsungs, Sonys, and LG's but they did not measure up in the specs with regard to refresh rate and full array LED for this price range. Simple as that. When you look for a set try to future-proof it and buy as much specs as you can. I'll expect to have this set for at least 6 years. Don't be afraid to buy a Vizio. They are now a player with the other Big 3! PS. One big concern I had was the reflectivity of the screen. My living room is very well lit with light sources to the left and behind is the walkway to the kitchen. My previous RPT was like a mirror. When I installed the Vizio I do get a little reflection from behind but not enough for it to be an issue. I'd say my setup is probably as bad as you can have it with regards to glare for Tv's. The Review You Were Looking For
This is a weird purchase for me, coming from being a SONY & Samsung Fanboy. This is the most outstanding 2D picture I have ever laid my eyes on, and I have seen many High-end Television sets. I almost bought a Sony XBR-HX909 for the super high reviews on its amazing 2D image. But once I saw the 3D image I was a bit thrown off by the 3D technology, after already owning a Panasonic 3D Viera which was much better. So this is what I have gathered from my total experience with the Vizio 3D HDTV: -PROS- +The purchased place with Amazon was better than I thought it would have been. Easy, Fast, Free Shipping, NO TAX (Tax is around $115 if you buy from a store), and perfectly cared for; Sam's Club is scary, lol. +47 inches of "OMG! It is bigger than I thought." This set gives so much at this price, quality, and Size!!! +The LED television is thicker, due to the 160 LEDs being directly behind the screen. This makes for better contrast that will blow your mind away!!! I have never seen this kind of true black on a set ever before. Sony sells this technology for around $3,500; yikes! +Features, Features, Features!!! The WiFi works amazingly. The Netflix app play videos at a higher resolution than my PS3 or computer using HDMI. The WebTV programs are limited but they are great, like Revision3. There is Vudu rental, Amazon Steaming, and of course Netflix. There is Pandora and a radio app for local radio station; or any state you want. +The best built-in speakers! The sound is out outrageous, there is simply no thin TV that can house speaker like the ones on this set. I was going to buy a 5.1 Dolby system for the room, but I only turn the volume up 20% on the Vizio. I recommend to turn Truevolume off, if causes weird volume changes. This feature is on most Televisions with different names, but always cause volume issues; much like ipod's volume settings. +The remote is bluetooth and an amazing little device. All remotes should be like this one!!! It is universal, and automatically has the codes in the television for all devices but the PS3; due to the PS3 syncing. But the XBOX 360 is compatible! TIVO, DirectTV, etc. The keyboard is great for the apps and Facebook! Since it is bluetooth, like the PS3 Blu-ray remote, the signal is always connected, so the buttons are harder to press so you don't accidentally change channels. This is a good thing. +Bluetooth means wireless headphones so you don't bother others who don't want to hear the TV; like my girlfriend when she is sleeping. You can buy Vizio's headsets, or any bluetooth headset you may have will work as well. +The accessories like the Vizio Router, Bluetooth Headset, or Vizio Stereo equipment are made easy and for a great price (high ratings from CNET). The 3D Glasses are sold seperately, but only cost around $150 for two rechargeable glasses. That is about the price that SONY or Samsung sells for one Pair!!! Very Cheap for 3D!!! 2 SONY pairs will buy you 4 Vizio pairs. A lot of the other 3D TVs come with one pair, or no glasses at all. +The Price is dead on with AWESOME!!! It is robbery!!! I payed $1500, and chose Amazon after the tax factor of buying in a store. The 480hz (really 240hz) makes 2D images amazing, and not look fake at all! Remember to turn this feature all the way to high, because it is turned off out-of-the-box. Okay, well here is the BAD: CONS -There is no SD slot, but this is not a problem really. There is 3 USB ports! 3!!! I never used the SD slot on my Panasonic, it is kind of useless. -The 3D is not like my Plasma 3D. BUT!!! The Plasma does great 3D, but not a great 2D image. 3D is a fun factor, don't take it seriously and you will be fine. The ghosting issue is present, but it is present on every 3D set I have seen but the Panasonic 3D Plasmas. The 3D can be down right horrible on the PS3 video games at times, but does okay on the movies. Remember that 3D is not a every moment thing on this set. It is used rarely and on all 3D pictures you can turn it off to 2D. I personally like the 3D and the glasses, but don't think that there will be any set better than this, other than the Plasmas. The real focus should be that the TVs 480hz (really 240hz) is used for better 3d, but really make the biggest difference on the 2D image; which is amazing! -Size, is a bit thicker, but it is because it has to be in order to produce the images at the 10,000,000:1 Contrast. I think the set is beautiful, and my friends freak out how beautiful it is in person! So Size is nothing but a few inches difference. You should really not worry about size though, you can't see how thick the TV is, but you can tell the Image difference. IN THE END This Television out preforms all the Television set I have seen, even the Samsung 8000 series. It has so many features, you will feel that you just robbed Vizio of their money about $1000. I replaced a sony bravia kdl-32M4000 with this HDTV not expecting it to be quite as good. It turns out its much better the sony had poor backlight uniformity, Color saturation, black level. The Vizio is much better in all those cases. All though the black level is still not as good as i would want its still very good such as it is for a CCFL backlit LCD. Very Nice Little TV
I bought the Vizio M160MV to go in our kitchen because of the number of inputs, features, and the Vizio name. We are very happy with our purchase, and very satisfied with Amazon's great price and fast shipping. Here is some information that I hope you find helpful. These are things that were important to me, or things that I only found out after using the product.

It has a headphone jack, allowing you to plug in some computer speakers. The rear-facing speakers in the TV reflect off the wall or corner you set it in front of, and the sound really isn't too bad. But add-on speakers do sound better. When speakers are plugged into the headphone jack, the built-in speakers turn off. You can also turn off the TV speakers from a menu.

It has a USB port to allow you to view pictures. To test this, I purposely plugged in a thumb drive with gigabytes of junk on it, including many folders, and with .BMP and .JPG pictures on it. I was able to navigate through the folders and display the pictures with no problems. It has a slide show mode that will cycle through the pictures.

It has an HDMI input and a VGA computer input, which can be selected from the remote. Another reviewer called the remote "toyish", and I'll agree with that. You push the buttons fairly far for a very distinct "click", which is unusual. Still, it works.

I have only tested the TV portion by running a splitter from our living room TV's satellite input (RF, not HD). The picture is very good in my opinion. I think the viewing angle specification of 170 degrees is optimistic on Vizio's part, but when we sit it in the corner on our counter, we can view it from anywhere in the room without any problems or big change in the picture quality (some change, yes, but not enough to be a problem).

Out of the box, the picture settings weren't that great, but there is a lot of adjustment range in the picture parameters such as brightness, contrast, and sharpness. In just a couple of minutes I was able to get the picture looking great. It comes with a pretty useful manual.

The TV runs off 12VDC, with a small separate power supply. I have a feeling this was done to keep the TV small and thin (and cool), and to allow you to use a car adapter to power it in a car or camper. It looks like they really thought of every detail.

The unit ships in the original (and colorful) box from Vizio with an Amazon shipping label stuck to the side. You might consider shipping it to where you work or to a place where someone will be there to accept the shipment. You wouldn't want it sitting on your front porch for very long since anyone walking by can clearly see what's in the box.

Great TV for Kitchen
The size of this TV made me choose it for the kitchen. The picture is very good, I like the High Def. The price was right for where I wanted it and I am very pleased, it doesn't take up much room but has a nice size screen. The price was right.

Vizio LED TV
Love it. No complaints from me. I was looking for a small but great tv for my kitchen and I bought this one. It was a toss up between this tv and 2 other tvs and I am glad I bought this one and it compliments my kitchen very nicely (not too big not too small). I purchased this for use in the kitchen. Hooked up to a basic set of rabbit ears, we can now watch tv in the kitchen. The picture is crisp and vibrant. If you need a small tv, give this serious consideration.

I bought this TV specifically for the Netflix app which allowed me to stream live movies onto the tv instead of watching them on my pc. This product is comparable with other brands I had researched in the $850-$1000 price range. The picture quality is GREAT! It was very easy to set up and connect with my wireless router. And in no time I was watching movies and building my watch instantly queue with Netflix. Some of the other reviews mentioned a high pitched whine when the unit is turned off. This must have been addressed by Vizio because I can put my ear to the thing and no noise is there. I love the Yahoo Widget apps and the TV guide app is very handy. Also, with the Pandora Internet Radio app who needs XM/Sirrius especially when played through a surround sound or stereo system. By the way, the remote is as advanced as the unit itself. I have my tv hooked into my Pioneer stereo reciever and was amazed while watching a music DVD that when I left my remote on top of the stereo cabinet and returned minutes later, it had "recognized" my reciever and after that when I raised or lowered the volume of the tv speakers, my stereo speakers raised and lowered accordingly. Can't wait to see what else it can do!
