Both Adaptec cards state they have 128mb ram while the LSI does not state anything about ram. The Adaptec 2405 card is also only SAS/SATA2 while the others are SAS/SATA3.

I will be using one of these raid cards with ESXi 5.0. I have 4 sata2 2tb hdds that I would like to attach to it and be setup in raid10. I have a bios that supports VT-d so I would like to pass this raid card along to a windows VM running on the server.

Which of these 2 cards would have the best support, speed, reliability.

I would like to try and stay with in the price rage of these cards if you have other suggestions.

I had an old SanDisk ssd a while back that worked but failed after a year. Is there a driver i am missing or what. I have a Supertalent drive that doesnt show up either but I have not formatted it. But it works in the lower slot (PCIE4)
And onboard graphics works...
I have tried to:
Flash BIOS iīve used 1.2 (on the board at delivery) 1.3 and the beta bios to.
And I have had the motherbord taken out to run it on a cardboard sheet to make sure there where no shorts behind the card
Just an idea for an addition. I really like the "PC Specs" system they have running over at the official Corsair forums. I don't know if its a default addon-hack or a custom made, but it would be a perfect addition to these forums imo.

Sadly its a real problem and for the life of me I can't find the problem. My wife has a 970 Extreme 3 mobo and she did a cleaning and upon starting it all back up we noticed the clock was wrong. Secondly when we went to go check Temps in the Oc tuner we notice the temps at -1c. So we attempt to reboot and windows shuts down and the screen goes black like its gonna fully shut down but doesn't. The Fans and lights run nothing else so we press and hold the button to shut it down and it completes the power down cycle. Ok heres where I scratch my head. We reboot and go into Bios set up to look at the temp reading there and it also shows -1c. She updated her bios Im just not sure what to do. She has other temp monitoring software that shows her temp but we need the Bios to show temp and the comp to fully shut down. Any help would be great. The processor is a Amd 8 core fx series. Thanks!

I've built two machines previous to this one so I'm not a total noob and I have taken this build completely apart after the first attempt to put it together to ensure connections were properly done.
I find myself in the same predicament as a few of the other posters on this forum. I'm building a new PC with a Z68 Ext 7 Gen 3 MB and it will not recognize my EVGA GTS 570HD video card. I can get video with the internal VGA. I disabled the IGD in the bios, but not in windows hardware manager, updated to the latest bios on the site and drivers available, but when I try to boot up with that card or the card in my current PC all I get is a black screen. Not even the Asrock splash screen appears. I've attempted to insert the card into the PCIe 3.0 slot and one other with no luck. I did submit a trouble ticket on the asrock site but I hear that can take awhile to get an answer so I thought I'd try here. Any help that anyone could provide would be appreciated.
Other info: can't insert the card into the uppermost slot due to the liquid cooler radiater being in the way, running Win 7 64 bit, 16 G of RAM, 120 GB corsair SSD, 1000W cooler master PSU, corsair H80 CPU cooler. Have not hooked up any other devices to the machine yet except mouse and deyboard.

My goal is to have:

1.) All memory timings which are now [AUTO] are set to manual value
2.) Any other BIOS settings which may affect the memory also changed from [AUTO] to a manual value

I am out of my element here but am very thankful for any help whatsoever.
I'm about stumped at trying to find out what I top out at with my Q9650 as I never bothered to tinker with it until I bought an SSD for it a few days ago and repurposed my other pc so I could fool around with this one.

I bought the Q9650 used from someone local who managed to get 450x9 @ 1.32v with a Rampage Formula and stability tested through LinX. At the moment, I have only successfully ran through IBT on maximum stress x5 @ 425x9. Details below:

I think I can tighten up those settings (passed an IBT run right now with lower voltages) but at least I seem to have a starting point. I've had no problems loading onto the desktop at 450x9 and higher but the system locks up in IBT after 1-2 passes with the very rare BSOD and reboot depending on the changes to the vcore, reference, pll, termination, etc..

I'm not sure if the amount of RAM (4x2GB) or the RAM itself (DDR2-1100 5-5-5-15 1.9v) is a limiting factor as I haven't run Memtest yet but running 2 sticks didn't seem to make a difference. Temperatures seem OK (62c load) but higher than what I expected.

I've read as much as I could find on here and OCN but I'm going to need a guiding hand as I feel there's room to improve :wavey:

Thoughts?
