Linkbaiting is anything that catches visitors attention and make them do what we wanted them to do... read the article and add the article link to their blog or website. Link baiting can have viral effect if used properly.
To rank well in search engine what you want is quality and quantity of backlinks and this is what provided by Linkbaiting.

My definition of linkbaiting: "Getting backlinks for your websites by providing free stuffs like information, widgets, tools or links in such a manner that people find them interesting enough to add that to their sites thus generating a backlink in the process."

So, Linkbaiting is a method or trick to get backlink for your site or blog. There are various methods to linkbaiting but I will list out top 10 tricks of linkbaiting.

1. Interesting Article: Write an interesting article like this one.Oh Yes.. Articles that can ignite everyone's mind. There is no substitute of a good article. But make sure articles have the keyword you are looking for, so that you can rank well in the search engines.
2. Informative Tool: Provide a tool of peoples interest. I am going to site you some informative tool.
a. Time tool: You can write some interesting javascript tool which tells time and most people want to add a clock to their websites and in the process you can get backlinks from them when your clock tool will be added by them.
b. Unit Converter: how about providing a unit converter tool. people have so much of interest in these kind of tools.
c. List of useful sites. Yes you can provide a tool which can have list of all the useful sites which you think your visitor find useful adding to their sites. Subject can vary according to your sites niche.
d. Quote of the Day: Add quote of the day to your site. Yes make a quote of the day tool and provide it for free at your site. People love adding them to sites/blog of any subjects. If you want to privilege me follow the link to get the quote of the day tool. Varients of this can be Joke of the Day, Thought of the Day and so on ..

...more you can suggest in the comments sections...am getting a bit nerdy writing all this ... need to have some other perspective ...

3. Add this Article to your Blog: Give visitors a convenience to add your articles to their sits or blog with the wordings like "If you liked this post and want to share it in your blog then copy the text from below and paste it in your blog sidebars." another way "Spread the word! Add this article to your blog :)" then provide the text to copy and paste in a text box. You can also give a preview how it will look like after adding the text to their blogs.

4. Humor/Humour: (spelling changes with demography/geography) - add humour to the content so that same readers wants to come back again and again to your post. For that they definitely like to add the link to their blog or site.

5. Link Exchange: old and trusted method. I had added you now your turn. Sometimes its quite frustrating but it is quite rewarding too.

6. Controversy: Write anything really bad and be controversial. but only in moderation. (Try it only if you are comfortable with it because you have to be firm on your stand.) People will floak to your blog like never before. They will refer your site. Everyone like to refer a Shit but themselves like to stay away from that. Does this make any sense. That what i want to say. Absolute nonsense is the crazziest thing and people love the penacity of nonsense but not the abundance. I can recall fakeiplplayer, he had written all the shits about indian premier league and grabbed attention of everbody. Approximately 10000+ followers added within months of blogging. Such was his impact his blog become centre of attention for many news channels. But try it only if you can handle it. Not everyone's niche for sure.

c. Sachin Tendulkar was just lucky to be labelled Great.
d. Barak Obama is a Muslim.

7. Encourage Comments: When people comments on your blog they feel themselves associated with it and there is every likly hood that they will add your blog to thier list. Encourage by organising polls, contests, guest authors, awards like anything. You can make a award section and highlight visitors blog by awarding some title and give space for blogowner comments. Seems weired, well every blog deserves some award and don't forget weird things get to the success many a times.

8. Go OffTopic: I hate mike tyson - I really hate mike tyson. I don't like Bill gates too. They are the ones who ruined the internet.
You might be thinking what happened to me. Well its very important factor of link building. GO OFFTOPIC. People will refer your blog articulating "look how nerdy this blogger is , his posts doesn't make any sense. Well post doesn't make any sense but backlinks does and you are on the way. Being nerdy is no harm as long as you are getting good traffic. Remember no matter how well you write you always get many criticising you. And even if you are a copy paste writer there will be many accoloding you. Thats the beauty of blogging or in broader sense beauty of Internet.
9. Cram the keywords-
Keywords drive traffic. Traffic drives baclinks. Backlinks drive more traffic. More traffic drives more Comments. More comments drive more visitors. Seems funny but its a truth when it comes to SEO. Curiosity is what makes a blog post popular. In the nutshell while posting do not ignore the keywords along with nice blog contents.
10. Headlines :Most effective part of any articles is its headline. People click to read the articles only after they found it worthy enough to go through. This is where importance of headlines comes into effect.

a. How to ... headlines are very-very captivating. People love reading how to articles.
b. Best site for blogger template. Yes When you see the word best you just click them.
c. Top 100 sites at alexa. Am I wrong. Top is always on top when we want visitors attention. I used this in this article my self :), why should I left behind.

Google announces google+, A guniune threat to facebook ...

Google announces google+ a site similar to facebook or you can say a new social networking site is on the planet earth. Similar to facebook? Comparatively it has some enhanced feature as compared to facebook. First impression is that it looks elegant, much much elegant, yes I mean it or its just me? hope not :). Round round circles impresses every one. Even my two year old son also got impressed saying show me the google+ circle.

What I make out from the demo is that whenever there is a term called google there will be some term like Search also. And Google plus is no exception...

Most striking feature of google+ is its categorisation of contacts in friends, office, home , best friends etc.

Another striking feature of google+ is its integration with google documents. Surely you can use google docs in google+ but currently I am not sure how this will work out as I was not able to register for it, think I got the news a bit late. Soon all the features of google+ will be known to everybody and its success seems a surity with brand name of google.

People initially got invites but at present registration are closed. So if you are looking to join google+ then you have to wait for a while.

As google+ is in trial phase it had just stopped registration after its launch saying it is in trial phose and for the time being it is not accepting new registration.

A news source said that people are buying invites for google+. Well this news doesn't surprised me as many people want their google+ account.

I will give you invite as soon as I get it. I can foresee with its feature that Google+ is genuine threat to facebook. Fingers crossed. Only time will tell ...

Many people donot like to read blog. They are just a bit of habitual of reading things in PDF. How about you can turn your blog into book?

There are many sites who are providing this service but with certain kind of limitation. Here I am going to talk about two sites which are my personal favorites for this service. Interesting enough both these sites providing this service for free..

1. BlogBooker: BlogBooker produces PDF blog book for your blog entries for the blogs running on Blogger, WordPress and LiveJournal. Well if you want to turn a blogger blog into book then you will have to provide Blogger XML along with Blog Url. Do you want to put your e-mail ID on your website of blog. Be careful, as lots of spam bots are searching e-mail ids on the net. So think twice before displaying your e-mail ids on the web. Many people use some kind of variant in writing email ids so that bots do not recognise it. Like if someone's email id is someone@some.som then they will write it like someone<at>some<dot>com or someoneatsomedotsom or anything for that matter so that only human can understand but not the bots. But day by day bots are getting smarter and they check for all kinds of obvisous varients for writing email ids. So this practise usually backfires because of three reasons.

Bots recognises your email id
Your clients might get confused they can note wrong email id in the process and
It doesn't look elegent also.

So what's the solution?

Well the solution is you can encrypt your html so that your visitor will see your actual id but for bots it is something else as bots donot see it on the screen. They search things in the html.:)

So how to encrypt ?

Well there are many sites on the net who provide html encryption service. But best of them all is http://www.iwebtool.com/html_encrypter . Just put the html code in the box and press the encrypt button and your code is ready. put that code in the webpage and relax.

Hide selected blog on your profile -- Blogger Blog

Its a normal thing that a person generally have more than one blog and he do not want to show all his blog to the visitor due to one reason or the other. You can get traffic from on blog to other when any visitor click on your profile. But occasionally you would like to hide some blog because they are under prepared and you donot want to reveal your real self. :D
General way of hiding the blog:-
First log on to your account then go to the dashboard.

Here you will find all your blog.
Now You will see a link called EDIT PROFILE (if not able to locate then use "ctrl + f" to search) :)

Click on EDIT PROFILE link

in the PRIVACY section you will find a link called select blogs to display

You can reach directly clicking this link if you had already logged in to your account http://www.blogger.com/edit-profile.g

On clicking the link you will see all your blogs listed there. Uncheck the box which you do not want to show to your visitors.

Easiest way: After login visit http://www.blogger.com/edit-profile-displayed-blogs.g and uncheck the blog which you do not want to show in your profile..:D
Do not forget to save the setting.

Note: People still can visit those blogs through Google search but this will not display in your profile section.

Create a new Blogger Account

Well! First of all you have to create a blog account and I would recommend blogger.com to create a new account. Although you can create a blog account in wordpress or .. also but most of my articles will cover issues related to blogger.com so I will definitely recommend you a blogger account.

So
GET SET GO
First of all create a gmail account if you don't have. It's not as tough as most of you already have an email account. But to get the services of blogger you need to have a GMail Account.
You can signup

Provide all the necessary details and within few moments you will have your GMail account. The Gmail id will be your gateway to many applications and features provided by Google. Yes it's a multipurpose id, not just a simple email id.

Well, After creating gmail account visit Blogger

Here you login with your gmail id and password

After login you will see a link Create your blog

Click on that you will be asked for few details like name your blog and blog url etc.

After filling those details click on continue

Then you will be asked to choose a starter template. Just choose any one. Later you can change your template anytime without any problem. After selecting your template just click on continue and hurray your blog is up!! Welcome to the blogworld..

You can play with the design and setting tab and see what blogger have in store for your.

On Design tab in the page elements you will see Add a Gadget link. Simply click on that will see lot of resources for blogger. Just go through them and see what you need in your blog. I will cover few important gadgets in my future posts and will let you know how to best utilize them.

And do not forget to publish your first Post.

Just go to the posting tab and on New Post option give a title for your first post and type first message in the box and provide a label for that post. Choose label carefully as these labels will help you and your visitors locating the posts in the blog.

Click the publish post and cheers!
