The night I dated Taylor Swift Saw Jimmie Vaughan (and Bon Jovi)

2017-01-23T15:48:00.000-07:00

It happened as fast as I’ve heard people die from a bullet.

Walking down the street where a concert was schedule, there was an old 1950 Ford sedan stranded next to the road. Approaching it I saw it was full of four gorgeous women. One was waving for someone to help. Quickly, I assessed it was the star of the concert playing in town tonight – Taylor Swift.

Walking up to the car I looked at the face. She’s even more gorgeous without all the stage makeup we all see her wear. She was a “skinny Minnie” but what a gorgeous, angelic face. Much better than any photo of her.

Also in the car was Gigi Hadid. Zayn is one lucky guy.

Swift and her crew already had the gray car hood up. I walked up, asked what was wrong. She said it had just quit running as they were stuck in the concert going traffic. No limo for this girl?

I pulled out a handkerchief I always carry in case of emergencies like this. I pulled her distributor cap, wiped the inside and put it back on. “Try it now.” The car cranked and purred.

“Are you an auto mechanic,” Swift squealed? “How did you know how to do that? You didn’t even try anything else.”

“When I was a kid, I had a friend who had a ’49 Ford. Same car as your ’50. He had that problem all the time.”

“Are you coming to my show?”

“I saw you once. Ended up in front row thanks to your extended stage at the time. I’m on my way to pay for a Jimmie Vaughan show I bought online but need to pay cash for.”

“Who’s Jimmie Vaughan,” Swift quizzed. By this point it was obvious this was an extremely flirtatious woman. The entire crew were. Swift reminded me of a song I heard somewhere, “She’s an actress.” Oh well, better than revenge I thought to myself.

“One of the greatest guitarists ever. You probably heard of his brother, Stevie Ray Vaughan. Jimmie is playing in Los Angeles with Eric Clapton. I’ve got to get my ticket.”

By this time Swift had left her car with her troop, realizing it was faster joining me walking to the concert site. As we approached the site, Swift got swept up by fans. It was nice while it lasted.

Just before my turn to pay for my ticket, Swift ran up; grabbing my elbow. “You said ‘ticket’ not tickets. Can I go with you?”

Suddenly a $1,500 purchase became three grand.

Just as suddenly, Swift pushed the person selling tickets out of the way and was taking my order.

“So that’s two tickets to Jimmie Vaughan in Los Angeles. Anything else?”

“I have a list. I need an Ariana Grande ticket.”

Swift grabbed my list.

“Ace Frehley, Daya, Andrew McMahon, Dua Lipa. Where’s Bon Jovi? They play Los Angeles March 8. I’d really like to see Bon Jovi.”

“I’ve seen them. They were pigs. Roadies lined all these Heather Locklear looking blonds up in front of my front row seat and the band pointed to which ones were going to their rooms after the concert.”

“I REALLY want to see Bon Jovi,” Swift gave me a look that would melt steel.

“Okay Ms. Ticket-seller. Two tickets to Bon Jovi.” Another $3,000 instantly evaporated.

“How do I get in touch with you? Where do I pick you up for the show?” I quizzed Swift.

“I don’t give my number to anyone. What’s your number? I’ll call you.”

Houston, we have a problem. “I’m Marketing Sociologist on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Does Instagram give gorgeous porcelain faced celebrities the capacity to message? I don’t think I can direct message from that platform. As for phone, don’t have one.”

“Yes, they do,” Swift said as she ran to perform.

The day before the Clapton-Vaughan show I got a direct message. It was Swift’s address and what time to pick her up. She was even providing my clothes. I was to pick them up in a downtown Los Angeles shop. It is true what they say about her being a perfectionist.

During the show, a Vaughan representative ran up to me.

“You’re the Billboard writer who talked to The Fabulous Thunderbirds in Denver, correct?”

“Yes.”

“Jimmie’s having a private show (gave the name of a local Los Angeles venue) with Eric afterwards. We’re putting your’s and Ms. Swift’s name on the guest list. See you there.”

I looked at Swift who was texting.

She saw me giving a quizzical look.

“I just texted to have my private jet pick up one of my Nashville friends, Brad Paisley. I’m going to have him join us at the club.”

“He is a hell of a guitar player,” I told Swift.

My head thought: and he has Demi Lovato’s phone number. If I can date Swift, maybe I have a chance with Lovato. What a voice she has.

Taylor Swift 2016 CD dueOctober 24, not 28th

2016-09-10T18:19:00.002-07:00

Since April I have announced Taylor Swift new CD in October, more than likely Oct. 24 rather than 28 to celebrate the 10th anniversary of her first CD.

Also, it may be a double CD greatest hits with two or three new tracks on it. Then again, it may be a full CD of new material.

Most likely it will be Swift’s last CD on Big Machine. Two years ago this site announced she was joining Selena Gomez at InterscopeRecords.

Swift herself said there would be no 2016 CD, but this month mainstream media is picking up on what I’ve been announcing half-a-year.

“Gigi Hadid Confirms Taylor Swift Is Working On New Music” –ET Canada

“Taylor Swift Is Recording New Music, Gigi Hadid Says!” – Just Jared Jr.

“When Is Taylor Swift's Next Album Coming Out? She's Already Working On New Music” - Bustle

So if you want to stay ahead of the music game and not wait for the lame mainstream media to pickup late in the game, follow Marketing Sociologist on Facebook and Twitter.

Has Taylor Swift already signed with Interscope Ditching Big Machine records?

2015-07-14T16:13:00.000-07:00

Looks like Taylor Swift may have already signed with Interscope Records.

July 15, 2015 Spin Magazine posted a video of Swift with Lorde at Swift's Washington, D.C. 1989 tour show.

UMG, the parent group of Interscope, had the video pulled down; not Big Machine. Lorde is signed with UMG.

So the dilemma continues. Is Swift with Interscope or Big Machine?

Taylor Swift strongest super hero in universe Demolishes world's largest corporation Apple in 17 hours

2015-06-21T22:03:00.000-07:00

Sure it took more time than Caitlyn Jenner to reach 1-million Twitter follower, but Taylor Swift brought the world's largest corporation, Apple, to its knees in 17 hours.

This from Eddy Cue, Apple's senior vice president of Internet Software and Services (Swift's missive at 4 a.m., reply at 9 p.m.):
We hear you @taylorswift13 and indie artists. Love, Apple
#AppleMusic will pay artist for streaming, even during customer’s free trial period
Apple will always make sure that artist are paid #iTunes #AppleMusic

Not addressed in the response is Swift's issue:
"This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs."

No one heard Taylor Swift Only holding back one of six albums Apple Music gets five

2015-06-21T18:09:00.000-07:00

At 4 a.m., December 21, 2015, Tween Music was one of the first to post Taylor Swift's missive on Apple Music.

The world is raving for Ms. Swift and her stance. Wonder what they'd say if she said, "I'm giving five records to Apple Music, just not my new one?"

That's what she did.

She's given up her Christmas work, Sounds of the Season, her first self titled CD, Fearless, Speak Now and Red.

Read her missive - "I write this to explain why I’ll be holding back my album, 1989, from the new streaming service,"

Taylor Swift - the millenials' Oprah

2015-06-21T17:52:00.000-07:00

Wish I was smart enough to come up with Taylor Swift, the millenials' Oprah.

But I sure as hell am copyrighting it right here, right now.

Taylor Swift pissed at Apple, but company could own her record label Looks like she's going to Interscope

2015-06-21T04:14:00.000-07:00

It appears Taylor Swift will be leaving Big Machine Records for Interscope after all.

Apple Corporation is negotiating to purchase Big Machine, but the understanding is Swift has to be included in the package.

June 21, 2015, Swift posted this message:

To Apple, Love Taylor

I write this to explain why I’ll be holding back my album, 1989, from the new streaming service, Apple Music. I feel this deserves an explanation because Apple has been and will continue to be one of my best partners in selling music and creating ways for me to connect with my fans. I respect the company and the truly ingenious minds that have created a legacy based on innovation and pushing the right boundaries.
I’m sure you are aware that Apple Music will be offering a free 3 month trial to anyone who signs up for the service. I’m not sure you know that Apple Music will not be paying writers, producers, or artists for those three months. I find it to be shocking, disappointing, and completely unlike this historically progressive and generous company.

This is not about me. Thankfully I am on my fifth album and can support myself, my band, crew, and entire management team by playing live shows. This is about the new artist or band that has just released their first single and will not be paid for its success. This is about the young songwriter who just got his or her first cut and thought that the royalties from that would get them out of debt. This is about the producer who works tirelessly to innovate and create, just like the innovators and creators at Apple are pioneering in their field…but will not get paid for a quarter of a year’s worth of plays on his or her songs.
These are not the complaints of a spoiled, petulant child. These are the echoed sentiments of every artist, writer and producer in my social circles who are afraid to speak up publicly because we admire and respect Apple so much. We simply do not respect this particular call.
I realize that Apple is working towards a goal of paid streaming. I think that is beautiful progress. We know how astronomically successful Apple has been and we know that this incredible company has the money to pay artists, writers and producers for the 3 month trial period… even if it is free for the fans trying it out.
Three months is a long time to go unpaid, and it is unfair to ask anyone to work for nothing. I say this with love, reverence, and admiration for everything else Apple has done. I hope that soon I can join them in the progression towards a streaming model that seems fair to those who create this music. I think this could be the platform that gets it right.
But I say to Apple with all due respect, it’s not too late to change this policy and change the minds of those in the music industry who will be deeply and gravely affected by this. We don’t ask you for free iPhones. Please don’t ask us to provide you with our music for no compensation.
Taylor

Did Demi Lovato get engaged as well as Iggy Azalea, Ellie Goulding and Colbie Caillat?

Lovato wrote this:

Could not be happier for this woman.. 😆😆😆 (And yes this was literally my face for about an hour) Still can't believe I got to witness that last night.. So happy for you both... Love you so much lady

Check the ring on Lovato's own finger. Her and Wilmer Valderrama engaged?

Demi Lovato joins Selena Gomez Leaves Hollywood Records Creates own label Safehouse Records

2015-05-26T21:09:00.002-07:00

In case you weren't paying attention, end of May, 2015, Demi Lovato followed Selena Gomez and said so long to Hollywood Records. Lovato created her own label Safehouse Records and is expected to release a new CD/album in time for the 2015 winter holiday fray.

Taylor Swift also reportedly has left Big Machine Records. Will she join Gomez at Interscope? Reports are Apple Corporation, the computer, not Beatles records, is courting her for a label it wants to establish. Hey, how about Apple Records?

Hollywood Records is skating on thin ice when it comes to talent on its label. R5 is its biggest act with Lovato leaving.

Is Taylor Swift pregnant? Calvin Harris going to be a daddy? Is that a baby bump?

Tween Music presents Taylor Swift song about her breakup with DJ Calvin Harris

2015-03-29T17:00:00.002-07:00

Months before Taylor Swift broke up with Harry Styles, Tween Music delivered the news. Even predicting today's #1 hit song by Swift, "Style;" more than two years before the fact.

Now it is time to do the same for her new beau, Calvin Harris.

To understand her song about Calvin Harris, you must know that Kelvin is a way of measuring temperature, just as Fahrenheit and Celsius measure temperature.

So here goes, Swift's song about her breakup with Calvin Harris: "I lost my temper when it hit absolute zero in Kelvin temperature."

All those Demi Lovato haters Why's it suddenly SO quiet?

Bridgit Mendler joins family in saying goodbye to her grandfather in Phoenix suburb

2015-03-22T23:49:00.001-07:00

Former Disney star, now on NBC's "Undateable," Bridgit Mendler, joined her family on March 23 saying goodbye to her grandfather, John Ford, who passed away suddenly on March 15, 2015.

Seen together in photo taken at Arizona's Tempe Marketplace where she performed on December 20, 2012. Ford, and his wife, lived in Arizona since 1998. (Link to Tween Music photos of the show here.)

A memorial service was held at a Lutheran church in Carefree, Arizona.

Mendler is in the mist of filming "Undateable" shows at the moment and was expected to head right back to Hollywood, missing all the wonderful spring training games in Arizona's Cactus League.

Taylor Swift staying with Big Machine instead of jumping to Interscope? Apple Corporation apparently makes offer

2015-03-05T13:37:00.000-07:00

In December, it was reported Taylor Swift would abandon Big Machine Records to join Selena Gomez at Interscope.

Reports today say Apple Corporation has made an offer on Big Machine. Looks like Swift will be staying.

This is a major business announcement if the reports are true.

Bridget Mendler exposes body parts, cleavage

At 22, Bridgit Mendler said she's moved away from the Disney image and into more mature roles.

She's even beginning to show some cleavage. Granted, not as risque as most you see today - like that newly minted tart Taylor Swift, but it's a beginning!

Selena Gomez leaves Hollywood Records for Interscope; Taylor Swift expected to follow

2014-12-18T20:13:00.001-07:00

In case you missed it, Selena Gomez jumped from Hollywood Records over the weekend, where she signed in 2008, to Interscope Records (why do these companies still call themselves "record" instead of entertainment companies?).

The split was totally expected for most of 2014, with the release of a greatest hits CD, "The Heart Wants What It Wants," fulfilling her contract with Hollywood.

Gomez joins artists like Madonna, Eminem, U2, Dr. Dre and more at Interscope. Hollywood is left with only two prominent acts, Demi Lovato and R5.

"1989" is also expected to be Taylor Swift's last CD for Big Machine label. It is possible/probable she too is in discussion with Interscope.
