Let's be honest here.  We talk on this blog like we cook every night, like time is 'a plenty and life never gets in the way.  Well...not so much.  Many nights we are far apart, others one works late, often neither are inspired to cook.  Should we be admitting this as food bloggers?  Hopefully everyone reading can relate.  On nights like these, we opt for food that is fast, friendly and easily

We recently read an article by Marcus Samuelsson talking about Healthy Foods on a Budget. It was not on very informative, it was also inspiring.  One of his tips is to use dried lentils.  He advised "Dried lentils retail for about the same price of a bottle of water. For  very little money, you can boil up a massive pot of soup- and  salad-ready lentils. A pound-size bag has 11 grams of fiber

Sweet Potato Hash Browns.  There it was, simply written on the bottom of a menu.  Four words that alone were seemingly insignificant.  But there they were, together, causing intrigue, wonder, and fascination at a new taste.  Fresh sweet potatoes cut julienne style, browned just right on the  griddle with butter and brown sugar. Finished off with a little powdered  sugar and tiny marshmallows

Yes, we like to celebrate the season with a few festive cocktail concoctions that both dazzle and delight our festive moods. This year we came up with a drink that took our Cidercar of years past and bumped it up a few festive notches with the addition of cranberry.

We think it is called Hummingbird because it has quite a bit of sugar and hummingbirds are just like us, they love sugar! We don't move as fast as them though! Besides sugar, this bread is full of flavor from cinnamon to pecans, banana to pineapple. In every bite you get many tastes and yet they all work seamlessly together.
