Today we had a little visitor

I was reminded, that sometimes you need to take a leap of faith…

And that sometimes, that leap might be bigger than you had expected…..

Face life head on…..

Always be perfectly groomed…..

Don’t be shy…..

Remember to wash your hands…..

And most importantly, sometimes you need to live life with your heart and not your head!

Keishi Pearl Bracelet

We live at the very end of a narrow and very leafy pathway. Most of the time, I love being tucked away where we can’t be seen. However on a cold wintery, wet night, when I am struggling down the path with my groceries, I am not as enamoured with it!

At the moment, there is the most beautiful hydrangea in flower along one of the edges of the path. It’s a really unusual one, white with hints of delicate pink. It’s very fragile and the petals are easily marked by rain and cold, but even in it’s rather “vintage” state it is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever seen.

And when I was shown a strand of tiny white keishi pearls, they reminded me so much of this plant, that I bought them on the spot.

For the new bracelet on the site, I have used them with jewel coloured semi precious stones as a cluster bracelet. All the tourmaline colours mixed with labradorite complement the sumptuous richness of the 14ct gold filled chain and toggle clasp.

This bracelet is a one off piece.

Silver Flower Earrings

These earrings are made using handmade pure silver flowers that I source from a fair trade collective in Thailand. Tucked inside, completing the flower is a Swarovski crystal teardrop. This particular one is a deep plum, but these earrings can be made using a colour of your choosing. Contact me to discuss your options.

Silver Disc Cluster Necklace

I’ve made this cluster in one of my favourite colour combinations, sky and sea blue, rich chocolate browns and olive green. The star of the show is the large brushed silver disc, above which I have clustered interesting components, peacock freshwater and keishi pearls, a faceted smoky quartz disc and complementary colours of Swarovski Crystals. The chain is a sterling silver double link and the necklace fastens with an elegant toggle clasp.

Wire Bundle Earrings

I finally have some photo’s of these wire bundle earrings that I am happy with and so have added them to the site!

They are made out of two 2 sterling silver wire balls. The wire has been wrapped into a round circle and soldered in several places for additional strength and they hang from sterling silver earring hooks.

White Pearl Necklace

I was asked to make a white pearl necklace by a regular client as a birthday gift for his wife. I made her a bracelet for Christmas and apparently she wears it constantly and wanted a necklace to match.

I’ve used a range of sizes of white pearls and scattered them along the length of the silver chain. The necklace fastens with a delicate sterling toggle clasp.

Tulips

The Tulips have just started to flower in my garden. This particular one is one of the first to develop it’s colour and open. While this is not normally a colour I would go for, on a tulip, it’s great.

Day 31 – Where you relax

I was waiting for some warm, sunny weather for this topic. I had in mind, my comfortable sun lounger. But yesterday I went for a ride on my bike, the first time in months and months, it was a beautiful morning, still quite cold, around 4 degrees when I left. I love being on my bike, and while riding I realised that I am relaxed when I am exercising. I know, that was a surprise to me too!

While I love riding my bike, I am not a natural runner. I do it throughout winter, when it is too cold to be riding, and I do enjoy it. But thinking about where it is that I relax made me realise how much benefit I get from regular exercise. I run with my iPod, so from the moment I start, I leave the stresses of the day behind and all those endorphins that happen when you are outside and active kick in and I return home, sure enough, tired, but definitely happier!
