Each month I host a challenge and the winner is the guest designer for MFT for the following month AND receives all the newly released sets for FREE!! This month's theme is BIRTHDAYS... so make the perfect birthday card and post it in the SCS galleries with the keyword MFGD08

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SG4aJ9E0wMI/AAAAAAAABhg/sf82ZmUPsUI/s400/IMGP5469.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5219137776484925634" />
This was my sample for the challenge. I used one of the newly released stamps, Peppermint, for the main image and also the stamped circle. The circle was cut with my cutterbee circle scissors (Love this tool) and stamped the flower part of the image around the outside. This is basically the same design that I used on the previous card, only in a circle.

I tried to put a little more white on this card, I tried, I REALLY DID!! I love the look of white cards, but can never seem to pull it off without distressing the white or covering it up with color. I think white cards are going to be my personal challenge for the next few weeks.

Don't forget about the Twisted Chick ATC swap. This swap's theme is "off color" - color you images in a shade that is not it's "normal" color - let your imagination go wild! I know summer is busy, but you only need to do 10 little cards... come join the fun. Email me at blog@clothingcorner.com if you'd like to join and I'll send you the details.

Peppermint and Linen

Today's challenge on SCS was to use chalk as the background and again over an image stamped in versamark. The technique is called chalk pouncing. <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SGmHsHSBizI/AAAAAAAABhQ/PI4j8nei7G8/s400/IMGP5458.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217850835224070962" />
I chanced the technique a little bit for my card. I stamped the main image and colored it with copic markers before chalking the background with a coral chalk. I then stamped the Linen background stamp over the entire image with Versamark ink, and applied coral and caramel chalk over the top. If you look at the closeup below you can see the linen.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SGmHsg0oQ9I/AAAAAAAABhY/i7GeT4kpOb0/s400/IMGP5459.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5217850842080101330" />
The background of the card is my favorite part... I simply stamped the flower part of the image along all the edges, then colored it in. I also used the chalk technique on the background.

The stamp I used is a new release from My Favorite Thing's Annie LaPoint line. I find all these herbal images so soothing, plus they are good for a variety of situations from birthday cards to get well!

I thought I had alot of cards in my gallery with this set - but strangely enought I don't have a single one! I know I've used this set ALOT... where did all those cards go?

I actually made this card for the SCS color challenge last week using Turquoise, Green Galore and white. I paper pieced the dress forms and used lots of white gel pen accents. The edges of the white paper were sponged with green galore (a little too much). I couldn't get a layout I was happy with so I subscribed to the old theory of "if your not satisfied, just add more", so I did!

How is everyone's summer so far? Mine has been busy with home improvements!! Since we just bought this house last fall we didn't really have time for much outdoor work before the cold weather set it, so now I've been working on the gardens, scraping the decks to be painted, replacing a deck (our whole back deck had to be ripped up because of a water line leak right under it), and other general stuff.

Birds are so popular right now - especially owls - so I came up with these 2 projects:<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SGO8lH-yL3I/AAAAAAAABg0/g4YmUh_Idgo/s400/IMGP5416.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216220139408732018" />
I used the bird stamp from Inkadinkado for this card. The main image was stamped on Basic Grey paper and colored with Copics. I used lots of layers of paper scraps that were in my scrap bin and sewed them together with my sewing machine. I forgot how nice the machine sewn edges look!!
My favorite part of the card is the layer of Mica. The studio that I work in makes lampshades out of mica, so there are boxes of scraps waiting for a use! I brought some home and separated the layers to make it a little more transparant, then trimmed it down on my rotary trimmer. I punched holes in the corners with my crop-a-dile and attached it to another layer with the screw brads. I like the way you can see through the mica to the patterned paper underneath. It was really easy to cut down and manipulate, so I'm definately going to bring more home to play with. I'll also check with my boss to see if he is willing to part with some of the scraps.... so if anyone is interested in some Mica scraps let me know.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SGO8lRUQOdI/AAAAAAAABg8/6udj2Mq0VGU/s400/IMGP5410-1.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216220141914700242" />
The second project was just quickly put together. It's a little key chain for someone moving into a new apartment of house. It's made with a 4x4 coaster cut in half. It was covered with patterned paper, then distressed. The main image was stamped on white, colored with copics and trimmed to fit.

I don't usually use much white, but I was bound and determined to have a white background on this card, and lots of sparkle! I stamped the image from American Art Stamp with Memento Ink on white PTI cardstock. I colored her with copic markers and used a Martha Stewart glue pen to adhere the Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the dress and veil. The main image was matted on PTI Lavender Moon and Plum Pudding (I LOVE this new color). The silky flower is from SU and I attached it to the card with a pearl tipped corsage pin and a PTI satin ribbon bow.

The edges of the main image and cardfront were edged with glitter. I used the thin double sided Scor-Tape from Scor-Pal and applied Dazzling Diamonds glitter.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SF78uJgBiVI/AAAAAAAABgU/e6N70-tOgmI/s400/IMGP5393.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5214883288296032594" />
The second card is designed as a Bridal Shower invitation. It's a pocket card with a blank inside sheet that is meant to be printed with the shower info, there is a little tab with the sentiment to pull the invitation out of the pocket.

The main image was colored with Copic markers and highlighted with Dazzling Diamonds. I was really covered with glitter today when I was done with these cards - I just sparkled in the sun!

I've been using it so much lately that I'm sure everyone is getting tired of seeing it, but it's almost gone so there shouldn't be too many more of these projects coming your way. This one is simple, a scalloped circle that was stamped with black ink then colored with Prisma Pencils. I love how the colored pencils show up on the darker paper, still vibrant without using a white background! The edges of the oval were punched with a paper punch.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SFm4Y5F9yjI/AAAAAAAABfs/YLHqfTby-W4/s400/IMGP5341.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213400781440272946" />
Here is a closeup of the coloring on the green paper. I also added some white gel pen dots to the flowers.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SFm4ZV6jrAI/AAAAAAAABf0/kjCUJUZfS7g/s400/IMGP5337.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213400789177052162" />
I used the new Friendship Blooms set on both of these cards - it will be released on Friday June 20 in Gina K's store (it's the Free with Three set, so you can only get it if you purchase 3 other sets!). I wanted to try a lighter looking card, but it didn't work out that way once I added the red matting. I colored the main image with Copics, then trimmed it and paper pieced the vase.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SFm4Z8kEqsI/AAAAAAAABf8/DdevtQgrog4/s400/IMGP5338.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213400799551728322" />
The flower vase is popped up on dimensionals. This is such a pretty bouquet, and perfect for lots of occasions.

The center square has the sentiment stamped on it.

As soon as I saw the challenge today I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do and actually stuck to it!! That is soooooo unusual for me because I usually can't resist adding a "little more" to the card.

This card features one of the new Gina K sets being releaed on Friday, June 20. It's called Botanical Dreams... and trust me it's just dreamy! Lots of pretty fowers, plants, leaves and sentiments which make it a set you can use for just about anything.

I stamped the flower image twice, embossed both with black ep, then cut out. The chipboard is from Cosmo Cricket (I *think*) and was inked with red pigment ink, then embossed with clear ep. I added lots of adhesive rhinestones... also a new item in the Gina K store! The dp is from K&Company "Mira" 12x12 pad. This paper is so bright and saturated with color, it's one of my absolute favorites!

Here is another sneak peek of one of the new sets that Gina K is releasing on Friday, June 20. This set is by a brand new illustrator.... her very first set! It's called Botanical Dreams and really is just dreamy! There are flowers, leaves and plants in the set, several words and a quote.

The main image was colored with Copics. I used Spring Green from PTI and the matching dotted satin ribbon and twill tape as embellishment. The cool little plastic tag is from Gina K. Oh yeah.... the sparkly rhinestone brads are also Gina K. There are so many really neat things being released this week it's hard to keep track!

Thanks for looking and don't forget to check out Gina's Blog for a chance to win this set and links to all the other great samples done by the design team.

Row of Purses

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SFchWunJ-GI/AAAAAAAABew/nWTtUxWcvsQ/s400/IMGP523599.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5212671768057739362" />

I love this line of purses from the new Gina K "Retro Boutique" stamp set. Plus this cool sentiment fits under the shelf pefectly! I colored the purses with Copics after stamping them on a piece of scrap Marcella K cardstock. I've been trying to stamp of colored and patterned cardstock more often lately because I feel like I get into a rut of stamp on white, color it in, then mount it on the card... I want more color!! I have to add a little disclaimer though.... the patterned paper actually matches better IRL - it's pretty yellow in this picture!

Some more cool things that are new on this card... the rhinestone brads are a new product that Gina K will be carrying in her store. They are really pretty and sparkly!! Also the adhesive rhinestones will be there as well... I am really addicted to rhinestones right now!!

This stamp set (and the new embellishements) will be released on Friday, June 20. I don't have much soft sky left.... but I found this scalloped circle that I received as a door prize at a shoebox swap. Since the scallop was flat I need to make a card front, so I cut a smaller circle with my Cutterbee circle scissors, then scored a line at 1/2" with my scor-pal. The top "flap" was adhered to the card base, so now I have a nice, round circle that opens to show the inside.

When I saw this new Gina K set I knew I'd have alot of fun paper piecing this pretty retro dress with all my left over paper scraps!

For this card I used some left over Basic Grey and K&Company paper scraps. I wanted a shabbier look than the colors made, so I used lots of distress ink in Brushed Corduroy to shade it. On my last visit to my lss I picked up this really cool ink blending foam to put on the end of the distressing tool from Ranger - they make blending the edges a breeze!

I think they may be out of stock right now, but I'm sure she'll have them back in shortly. They are so cool! I'm sure most of you know how much I love using Pearl Ex on my cards for a little extra bling, the only problem with Pearl Ex is you need a binder to get it to stick to the paper (I usually use Future brand floor wax). These handy watercolor palletes come ready to use and look just like Pearl Ex.... they are awesome!

I was playing around with the dotted stamp from the new Congratulations all around set and colored in the petals. It looked alot like peacock feathers to me, so I cut it apart and layered them to see the effect. Luckily I just received the Cocktails Anyone? set from Jacksonbelle Embellishments, so I stamped the chicken on green cardstock then painted him with green & turquoise. Love the way it came out!

The background paper I used is from K&Company's Urban Rhapsody line - the rub on sentiment is as well.

Last night was the new release of some really sweet MFT stamps including a new line called MFT Presents - which last night featured the art work of Annie LaPoint. The first card I made has her bathtub image, which was stamped on dp, colored with copics, then paper pieced with paper from K&Company's Urban Rhapsady line.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SEfbE49xFGI/AAAAAAAABdg/tR_pm3z_vvA/s400/IMGP5193.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208372371134682210" />
I LOVE the paper from Cosmo Cricket's new Be Happy line!! I ordered it from Jacksonbelle Embellishements last week and have been using it ALOT! I may actually order a second pad... which is something I hardly ever do! The cupcakes were inspired by the green in this paper. I love the curvy edge to it, so I left that along and added minimal embellishments.

It's been so busy that I have barely had time to sit down and make any new cards. I finally carved out about 4 hours of studio time yesterday morning and put together a few cards with some of the new goodies that I've acquired recently.

The sundae and sentiment are from a sweet new set from My Favorite Things featuring one of my favorite things.... ICE CREAM! The main image was stamped with my new Memento Tuxedo Black ink. This stuff is great with Copics... it doesn't run at all and stamps a nice dark shade of black. I think it'll be replacing my Palette Noir, which up until now was the best I could find.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SEPUyWv4INI/AAAAAAAABdQ/BbgFHjOgI-I/s400/IMGP5182.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207239555735363794" />
The ribbon on this card is alos new.... it feels and looks just like paper, but is made of a non-woven cotton. You can shred it, curl it, stamp it, distress it, tie it, sew on it .... the possibilities are endless. For this card I tied it, then shredded it to make the spikey looking bow. The little scalloped tag was tied on with a strip of the ribbon that was peeled away from the main ribbon, so you can easily make various widths to fit your projects.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SEPUymViK1I/AAAAAAAABdY/BECwaLZx7eU/s400/IMGP5183.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5207239559919840082" />
The main image was colored with copics, then the sundae glass was painted with Yasutomo Pearlescent Watercolors. These are so pretty and fun to work with... they look just like Pearl Ex or Twinkling H2Os - but come in their own Palette.... just like kid's watercolor paints! It's hard to see in the picture, but I used a combination of white and gold for the sundae glass. I was just checking Kim's website for more details on these paints and realized that she has already sold out of her first shipment! I'm sure she'll have more in stock soon though.

I found this really cool ribbon from Daisy Bucket. It's made of paper and cotton, so it feels like paper but has alot of qualities of normal ribbon. You can tie it in a knot, stamp on it, shred it, curl it, distress it.... and these are just a few of the things I've done with it. On this card I stamped "baby" on it along the side then I tied a knot in a piece and shredded the ends and curled them with my fingernail. I added some plastic and fabric flowers that I found at a local stamp expo over the weekend.

The image is from My Favorite Things. I paper pieced the dress using paper from Daisy Bucket as well. I know this is a bit on an odd color combo for a baby card... but sometimes I get tired of all the pastels!

Don't forget about the next ATC swap - it will be due July 15 and the theme is "Off Color" - by this I mean color you image with colors that are just not right! Like my red, blue & green ostrich, a purple frog, blue trees... whatever you can thing of! The swap is for groups of 10 ATCs - you can sign up for more than one spot it you'd like since I usually have at least 20 participants. If you'd like to join in please email me at blog@clothingcorner.com and I'll email you the details including my address. They come as a full rubber sheet with a printed paper that has all the designs, stamp names & illustrator info on it. I came up with this box while looking through the scor-pal website.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDhboenBYaI/AAAAAAAABcw/_CBBtpVbK9M/s400/IMGP5113.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204010120396235170" />
This box is made with and 8.5" square sheet of paper and an 8.325" square. They are both scored at 2" in from the edge (so I keep turning my paper when scoring). Then simply trim the tabs and secure with scor-tape. This makes a quick and easy box that is the perfect size for the trimmed label on the front and the stamp images on the top.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDhbnOnBYYI/AAAAAAAABcg/rFlfArI-o98/s400/IMGP5128.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204010098921398658" />As soon as I saw the blender I though "MARGARITA!!". I really love just about any frozen drink, but Margarita's are my favorite. The card measurements look a bit odd, but it comes out to be 5.5 x 4.25 as the outside dimensions, so it'll fit just fine in an A2 envelope.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDhboenBYZI/AAAAAAAABco/5PN7L7H2D78/s400/IMGP5130.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5204010120396235154" />The last card features a pretty wildly colored ostrich from Melanie's new line. I had no idea what color a real ostrich is... so I just went a little wild and matched her up to the dp I ended up using.... it's my Vegas Ostrich!

ATC SWAP
I'm going to skip June since it's so busy for everyone with graduations, vacations, end of school, etc.... so we're going to hold the next one in July. The ATC's will be due July 15. The theme for this swap was inspired by the multicolored ostrich.... it's to color an image an unusual color scheme - a color it's not supposed to be! You can use any image you want... Just color it a bit odd! Please email me at blog@clothingcorner.com if you'd like to participate.

Fun with Folds

Yesterday was a release day for lots of new Gina K Designs stamp sets, so I spent most of the day coming up with my sneak peeks for the party last night. I did a demo over the weekend on the Scor-pal and it really remeinded me of how much fun this product can make card making. Alot of my cards have been the standard one fold A2 size lately, so I was determined to make these a little different! <img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDQJR0ZnXKI/AAAAAAAABb4/WOSJvpeyaME/s400/IMGP5116.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202793671248272546" />
The first card uses a 4.25 x 11 sheet of cardstock which was scored at 1.25" and 4.25" (if you move the paper end to the .25" position you can quickly score at 1.5 and 4.5 for these measurements). I stamped the stars and fireworks with Not Quite Navy, Colorbox Cranberry and Versamagic Silver. The stars, fireworks and sentiment are all part of the the new Gina K Set called "Woo Hoo"
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDQJSUZnXLI/AAAAAAAABcA/5FA-evGuovU/s400/IMGP5118.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202793679838207154" />
This card opens by pulling down to reveal the invitation inside which I handwrote on red paper with a white gel pen. I also added lots of platinum stickles to the fireworks and around the invite edges to make it just sparkle!
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDQJSkZnXMI/AAAAAAAABcI/RQK7VvXIXVM/s400/IMGP5120.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202793684133174466" />
The second card is the style that I demo'd over the weekend. It's made with a 4.25 x 11 sheet of cardstock and turns out to be a 4 x 4.25 double accordian fold. The card is scored at 1.5, 3.5, 7.5 and 9.5 and folded as shown. I used PTI Lemon Tart and Sweet Blush as the cardstock, and stamped the bear on the pink before coloring it with copics. I'm getting a bit tired of always using white for my copic coloring.... but as you see you can use colord cardstock and get the same nice results.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDQJSkZnXNI/AAAAAAAABcQ/a8b5KMNFk3c/s400/IMGP5121.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202793684133174482" />
When you slide the ribbon off the front the inside opens up to say "give yourself a big hug". One other product on this card this is pretty cool - see that eyelet on the corner of the bear image? It's a sticker! You simply adhere it where you want it and punch out the paper in the ceneter and voila' - a pretty eyelet! Gina K has them in her store!

I had a few people request the measurements of this card and also for the matching envelope when I did the demo.... here they are:

Double Gate-fold card
1. Made with a 4.25” x 11” sheet of cardstock
2. Score at 1.5”, 3.5”, 7.5” & 9.5”

Custom Envelopes
1. Made with 5.25” x 10.50” sheet of designer paper
2. Score at ½” on both long edges
3. Score at 2” and 6.5” on other edge.
4. Trim off 1/2" tabs between 2" score and end and between 6.5" score and end. Round corners of top flap
5. Adhere center back flap with scor-tape.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SDQJSkZnXOI/AAAAAAAABcY/lC5sVAbPNgg/s400/IMGP5124.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5202793684133174498" />

The third card is actually my personal favorite. I used the set "My Favorite Re-Turns" for the typewriter and "thanks". The typewriter was punched off-center with a scalloped circle and colored with copics. I stamped the sentiment on a plastic tag with Palette black ink, let it dry completely then inked it with ballet blue.

This card also uses a 4.25 x 11 sheet of cardstock scored at 2" and 5.5". I I covered the panels with dp from K&Company's new Amy Butler line, then mounted the main image on several layers of blue and black cardstock and added the screw brads to the sides.

I like this style because when you open it, it actually utilizes the entire inside to write your message. When you open a traditional card the "back" of the front is usually wasted space

Gina K is releasing a whole bunch of new stamps on Tuesday, May 20. The set I'm previewing is actually called "Woo-Hoo!" and has lots of cool summertime images like stars, firecrackers and fireworks.

As soon as as I saw this set I knew I wanted to make a flag card using the stars and the "Celebrate" sentiment as the stripes. I cut strips of white cardstock and stamped the sentiment with red ink, then adhered them to the white card base. The stars were embossed with white ep, then colored with Spica glitter pens. I popped them up on dimensionals and added a little faux stitching.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp3.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SC-jY0ZnXJI/AAAAAAAABbw/3M4fSs7KtvQ/s400/IMGP5109.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5201555741414481042" />

I used the stars again on the second card, and combined it with some new designer paper I just bought today at my LSS. I think the colors of this card and the "You're invited" sentiment definitely take it away from the 4th of July theme and show that it's a set that can be used all year long.

Don't forget to check out Gina K's blog for more info on the release and maybe even a give away? You can also see more sneak peaks on Carolyn's, Melanie's, Barb's, and Joanne's blogs.

The release party will be held on Tuesday, May 20 from 7pm to 10pm Central Time. Keep stopping by my blog with week for more sneak peeks.

I signed up for so many ATC swaps in the past few weeks, including the one I host monthly... I'm just up to my eyebrows in ATC's right now!!

The first ATC features a little chickie, balloon and sentiment from Gina K Designs. I used K&Company paper and lots of sponging with golden yellow ink.

The second ATC group was made with Cosmo Cricket "Cogsmo" paper and a really cute stamp from The Cat's Pajamas. I paper pieced the rocket, added stickle stars to the black paper and Pearl Ex'd the moon with white pearl.

The third group features another Gina K stamp set, but instead of a flat ATC I made a little mini card. The owl was stamped on light yellow paper and colored with copics. The inside of the card says "Owl Always be here for you". Isn't that sweet?

The last thing I want to mention is that my friend Arin Burdo made the cover of Stamp It with her really cute Bella card shown in the middle. Congratulations!! Please send me your address to blog@clothingcorner.com and I'll send your card candy out asap!!

I gotta tell a funny story about the card I posted here... I tied a little puppy milkbone to the front of it and left it on my livingroom coffee table (where all my cards sit until I feel like putting them away). Well I got home from work the other day and the bone was gone and my older dog was sitting there looking pretty sheepish. I did find the tiny ribbon that was tied in a bow still intact on the floor next to it though! She was very neat about taking that bone off!

Sending Love and Blog Candy too!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SCERSyRjD6I/AAAAAAAABaI/zFBaYZEjCLA/s400/IMGP4992.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197454459392954274" />For the first card I wanted a whimsical, sparkly card to go with this pretty angel image from American Art Stamp. The main image was colored with Copics. The angel wings were painted with Pearl-Ex and future floor wax.

The flourish at the bottom is from a package of grunge board. I inked it with Aqua Mist Palette ink. Then colored it with glue pen then sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. I added a half a scalloped oval punch with a sentiment at the bottom and dots of stickles along the edges. I have a hard time letting such a wide open space stay uncluttered!!

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SCERWCRjD7I/AAAAAAAABaQ/_gklFfYgbvE/s400/IMGP4977.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5197454515227529138" />

I made the sheet of card candy for the May Gallery on Embellish It and I'm going to give it away as blog candy this week! It's a 4.25 x 5.5 sheet of Basic Grey Two Scoops paper that is covered with popped up flowers made with the same paper and stamps from Fancy Pants Pollen Dust set. I also added lots of glitter, rhinestones, buttons and dimensionals to make these fun embellishments to just put on a card or project. The flowers each have a dimensional on the back so you just need to lift them off the paper and they are ready to use.

To enter the giveaway just leave a comment on this post - and don't forget to leave your email or blog address so I can get ahold of you if you win! I'll pick a random will over the weekend.

I started by stamping the smallest dogs on the white sheet and also on a post it note, which I cut out with a part of the sticky strip under the image - this makes it easier to stick on to the paper without leaving a residue. After the line of small dogs was covered with the cut out mask I stamped the medium sized dogs and repeated the procedure. Once the medium and small dogs were masked then I stamped the largest dogs. I removed all the masks and voila' a perfect line of doggies!

I used 17 different shades of brown, tan & yellow Copics to color in the dogs (E29, YR02, E77, E37, 0, S-7. YG91, Y28,YR20, E57, E21, W-1, Y00, E95, E43, W-5 & W-3). I really love how you can go over the same area again and again with copics to achieve the color and shade you're looking for. Some of these doggies were colored 3 to 4 times until I was happy with the result.

I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple so the dogs really stood out, so I trimmed down the main image and matted it on a base of kraft cardstock. I added just a little bit of faux stitching for contrast. The "collar" was made of satin ribbon, a hodgepodge hardware buckle jump ring to hold the dog bone tag in place.

Let me know what you think of these little doggies... personally I'm in love with tem!

Bon Voyage Teaser

<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_ZKhoOxdw3SA/SB58tiRjD3I/AAAAAAAABZw/AIveRfGGaYI/s400/IMGP4980.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5196728141768494962" />I made such an effort today to get some stamping done since I've been a bit behind on all my projects.... well I finally caught up!! AND I had time to do this sketch challenge card for the weekly challenge hosted by Cindy Haffner.

This card is made with a brand new stamp set coming out on Wednesday, May 7th called "Going Places" There are some really cute images in this one! For this card I used the cityscape scene as the main image. I punched a circle with my 3/4" punch and used it as a mask to sponge the sky. Then the clear circle was colored in with different shades of Copic markers. The buildings were also colored with Copics and Spica glitter pens.

I used the new twill tape from Papertreyink.com for the ribbon at the bottom. It was stamped with a sentiment from the new set with Palette ink. The base of the card is also the pretty yellow from their last release.

Thanks for looking! I really enjoy making circle cards with 4" round coasters as the base. Plus it gives me the opportunity to use my circle scissors from EK Success - which is an easy way to cut circles in various sizes perfectly every time. For this project I cut two 4" circles for the top of the card - one plain patterned dp was adhered to the coaster front, then the second circle was scored 1/2" from one side (with my scor-pal), then glued down to the coast on only that 1/2" piece. Once the glue dries I attached 3 brads to form the card flap.

The sentiment and arrow are also from this paper pad. I was thinking of using this as a funky baby card for my Brother & SIL's new baby.... since I'm an Aunt now I'm always popping over there with a little something!

I made the scalloped edge with a small circle punch. Each circle was adhered to the back of the black paper, then faux stitched and a drop of stickles was added to the center. I also used the platinum stickles to outline the arrow. I also made this card for The Cat's Pajamas TCP Tuesday challenge - this time it was for a blue card - see Toni's Blog HERE.
