Some people refuse to take accountability when things don’t go well for them.

It’s especially difficult when you’re at the receiving end of the rage.

What would you do if a customer called requesting a refund for something that was entirely their fault?

That’s what the call center rep in this story had to deal with. See how they handled the furious, entitled customer.

Everyone Else’s Fault

I just dealt with one of the worst types of customers.

This guy calls in, clearly upset, demanding a refund without giving his name or account details. He just insists that we need to refund him.

I look up his account using the phone number he called from and see that our supervisor had already talked to him and denied the refund.

This guy is relentless.

Apparently, his wife placed a large order online, about $90, which caused an overdraft fee on their account. Multiple customer service agents, including a supervisor, had already explained that we couldn’t refund him because it wasn’t our fault his account overdrafted.

His spouse made the purchase, not us.

When I relayed this information, he went ballistic, yelling and berating me, calling me all sorts of names, and saying it was “BS.” He even threatened to get his lawyer involved.

Seriously? You’re yelling at us because your spouse made a purchase that you couldn’t afford, and now you want a refund for your financial mishap?

People like this are really frustrating her.

The entitlement and lack of emotional management skills in some people are astonishing. How is it our fault that your spouse bought something that caused an overdraft?

If you were on the receiving end of this call, you would be just as frustrated at the absurdity of such a request.

Poor financial management is unfortunate, but it doesn’t justify yelling at customer service representatives. Most of us struggle with financial management, trying to handle debt and other financial challenges.

However, that doesn’t give anyone the right to lash out at others.

Being professional takes self-discipline.

In this case, I hung up, but sometimes I wish I could just speak my mind and tell these people off.

It’s incredibly frustrating dealing with such a lack of accountability.

Worst kind of customer.

Well, besides the super entitled ones—they definitely take the crown.

You’re gonna run into all kinds of different folks when you fly the friendly skies…

And not all of them are gonna be pleasant.

A woman named Kelly posted a video on TikTok and told viewers about a fellow traveler on a flight who turned out to be incredibly rude.

Kelly said she took a flight from Chicago to Tokyo with her boyfriend. She sat in a middle seat next to a woman who had the window seat, while her boyfriend sat on the aisle.

The TikTokker said the plane she was on had digital dimmers instead of traditional shades on the windows and that the entire flight was sunny because the pilots flew over the Arctic.

Kelly said passengers wanted to get some sleep after their meals, and the man sitting next to her boyfriend across the aisle asked if the woman sitting at the window next to Kelly would dim the windows.

The sun was shining through the window next to her and into the man’s face…but the woman would only darken the window a little bit.

Kelly showed viewers a photo of the man holding a pillow in front of his face to block the sunlight from the window.

A flight attendant eventually said something to the woman in the window seat, but she still refused to darken the window any more.

Kelly said, “The lack of self-awareness is insane.”

My brother recently passed away due to kidney failure.

He has been dealing with kidney problems most of his adult life.

About 6 months ago, his wife of 5 years said she wanted a divorce.

She wasn’t happy and she thinks she deserves to be happy and with someone exciting.

This woman’s brother finalized his will while he was in the hospital.

My brother was a good earner and worked long hours.

While she is (was) a stay-at-home wife.

After his most recent bout of kidney issues, while in hospital, he made out his will.

He made sure she got SFA. She was already seeing someone else during this time.

He also specified that he does not want her at his funeral.

Her sister-in-law accused her of being heartless.

He passed about a month ago, and at his request, she was not allowed at the funeral.

She did try though and was not allowed in.

She has since called me “heartless” and had a number of her family gang up on me and sending me messages.

She was even angrier that he left her nothing.

Her brother’s money had been transferred to her instead.

He had transferred his savings to me for my daughter’s education.

We haven’t stopped her from visiting his grave (not like we can anyway).

But as per his wishes, she was not allowed at the service.

So, AITA?

When a college student realized his political science professor was awarding points based on popular opinion rather than factual accuracy, he stopped trying to be right and started trying to be strategic.

So when the student staged a rebellion, the syllabus got a much-needed makeover.

I organized a rebellion against the professor in my Political Science class

This was about 10+ years ago when I had returned to the local university to finish my bachelor’s degree in Political Science.

I was a “non-traditional” student, so I was a little older and a little more willing to question things.

I was taking a 3000-level Political Science course, so it was designed for PoliSci majors and was required for my PoliSci degree.

It was the professor who really made this class stand out.

It was a fairly basic Political Science course, but the professor did some weird things.

Specifically, there was a quiz every class over the assigned reading.

These quizzes made up a significant part of the grade.

His grading methods were rather unorthodox.

But here’s the tricky part: he seemed to be doing some sort of experiment with the “wisdom of crowds.”

The “correct” answer for a quiz question was the answer that was given by the most students in the class (a plurality) — whether it was based in fact or not.

Whatever the most students said was the answer was the “correct” answer.

As expected, this complicated traditional studying strategies.

This forced you to make a decision: try to be factually accurate, or try to figure out what the crowd was going to do and go with that.

Neither guaranteed you a correct answer.

The majority of the time, the majority of students would actually choose the factually correct answer. But if it was a common misconception, or the question was poorly worded, that could lead to a situation where the “crowd” was wrong.

But that wasn’t even the worst part.

But here’s what drove me nuts…

I was not willing to make my grade dependent on whatever the other students thought might be the correct answer.

This student had some serious doubts about the usefulness of this experiment.

My grade became dependent on conforming to what the crowd said was “true.”

I had no real control over my grade since the “wisdom” of the crowd could be anything.

A class of 30 students was probably not a large enough crowd to give you a good example of the “wisdom of crowds.”

Learning the material was not the point. Conforming to the crowd was what got you a good grade.

Soon, the wheels inside this student’s head began to turn.

I figured out that if we all agreed to choose the same answer for every question, then we could all guarantee ourselves a perfect score on the quiz.

In reality, I only needed a plurality of people to go along with my plan. As long as I could muster enough “votes” for an answer, then we could control our destiny.

It didn’t matter if “A” was the correct answer or not. If we controlled the votes, we controlled our grades. And anyone who didn’t go with us — they were going to fail regardless of whether their answer was actually correct or not.

So the student began staging the rebellion.

I met everyone at the door to the classroom and explained the plan:

“For every question, we are going to choose the first option. If it’s multiple choice, it’s option ‘A’. If it’s True/False, we are choosing ‘true’. If we all agree to this, then we can all get perfect scores. If you decide to go against us, your answer will be wrong.”

It didn’t take long for the professor to figure it out, but still, the students persisted.

The first class we did this, the professor figured out after a few questions that we were gaming the system.

He had us redo the quiz and graded us on the factually correct answers.

After the second class we did this, the professor changed the rules: there were 2 answers that would get you full points — the factually correct answer, and whatever answer the majority agreed upon.

In the end, I was OK with this arrangement.

This ended up benefitting the student even more.

I could study and give the correct answer without being penalized for not conforming to crowd thinking — or if I made the same mistake as the majority of people, I still got credit for it, and it was a good discussion point for the class.

Yes, I got an A in the class.

What a strange way to run a class.

Turns out, these students did get a pretty good lesson in political science — just not one the professor anticipated.

Do parents have a favorite child? Most would never admit they do even if they do, but in this story, one dad actually admitted to both of his children that one of them is his favorite.

For starters. I (16M) wasn’t expecting to be my dad’s (34M) favorite. I kinda hoped he loved us equally or would at least lie about it, but I guess I was wrong.

This morning my brother (17M) jokingly asked our dad who was his favorite and he answered.

Usually he’d dodge the question but this time he like fully answered.

I was just minding my business eating breakfast and he told my brother that he was the favorite.

He was crushed.

Completely ruined my day.

I expected my dad like to say both of us or no one or something like that but no.

I asked my dad if he was serious and he started laughing until he noticed that I got sad Ig.

He said that he thought about it and he had more stuff in common with my brother which is why he’s the favorite.

His dad thinks he overeacted.

I told my dad that I always thought he didn’t like me but having it said outloud was different.

My dad then started getting defensive saying that he didn’t like me less and I wasn’t interrupting it right.

I asked my dad to clarify exactly what he meant.

And he said that he just like spending more time with my brother because he relates to him more because they have common interests.

How could his dad not realize this would upset him?

He tried to assure me that he still loves me the same.

But if I’m being honest that only hurt me worse.

I told my dad that I’d appreciate if he’d not answer any more questions when I’m around from now on and this upset him.

He told me that he didn’t mean to upset me but he did tho.

Now, it’s his dad’s turn to get his feelings hurt.

I told him again that I always knew I wasn’t liked very well because I can see that he visibly enjoys spending more time with my brother than he does with me and hearing him openly say that he was the favorite child wasn’t surprising it was just hurtful to know that I was right.

I guess this hurt my dad’s feelings because he just hugged me and told me that he sorry if he made me feel that way as it wasn’t his intentions and then he started to cry.

He went to his room and haven’t came out yet which was about an hour ago.

I feel bad for making my dad cry because that’s not something he does often and because of that it’s abnormal at least for him.

His dad is a complete jerk. He said something hurtful and then proceeded to act like the victim.

When you own a business in a small town, people start to think they really know you.

So, what would you do if a customer approached you at a gas station and asked how to fix their toilet because they know you own the local hardware store? Would you explain what they needed to know? Or would you simply tell them to go see the employees at your store?

In the following story, a third-generation business owner deals with this scenario and is just trying to get fuel. Here’s his story.

You’re a customer of mine, but this is a gas station. Not my store.

My family owns a hardware store that has been open for 50ish years.

We serve a large community for a store of our size and have watched a couple of generations of families grow up around us.

We are part of the community.

But when I’m at the gas pump filling my tank, you shouldn’t be asking me why your toilet keeps running.

Apparently, she needed to go to the hardware store.

Lady(L): Hey, it’s funny to see you here!

Me(M): Well, the store is across the street, and we all need to get gas.

L: I’ve been meaning to come in and ask you guys why my toilet won’t stop running. What causes that?

M: Oh, that’s an easy fix. Stop by the store on your way out, and one of my guys can get you what you need.

He tried to tell her that the guys at the store would help.

L: Why can’t you just tell me now?

M: I promise it’s an easy one. Any of our guys can walk you through it.

L: If it’s so easy, why aren’t you just explaining it to me now?

M: Because I’m just filling up my tank to go out and finish some last-minute Christmas shopping, and stores are going to be packed.

Then, she got a little upset.

L: Your father would have taken the time to help me. Your store is really going downhill.

M: You would need to go to the store to buy what you need to fix this anyway. It’s right across the street.

L: Some help you are. Merry Christmas (drippingly sarcastic)!

He’s thankful, but situations like this can get old.

I even tried to give her the names of my best guys on the clock to make sure she got great service.

This type of thing happens so frequently that my father doesn’t even like to shop, dine, or just GET GAS in the neighborhood.

I love my family’s relationship with this community, and I’m proud of our store, but if this is how we’re rewarded, I might need to rethink third-generation ownership.

I am a senior in high school. The school year is coming to an end, our school holds a “senior skip day” once a year.

My friend group consists of 11 girls, two of which I am closest to.

My friend Mia is one of the closest. She recently got in a relationship around a week ago.

Admittedly, she wasn’t too big of a fan of Mia’s boyfriend.

I support her but I am not necessarily fond of the guy. I’ve known the guy for around seven years but we never became close friends.

I am supporting her through it, but as I said I am acquaintances with the guy.

She’s made it clear that she’s there to support Mia, not him.

I have no interest in becoming his friend, and out of respect for their relationship I am keeping my distance even more.

In short, I don’t care much about him. I am just happy if she is happy and safe.

Lately though, she starts to feel like Mia’s new boyfriend is getting in the way.

I’ve been open to inviting him to our hang outs and I have enjoyed it with our friends, but I don’t feel as comfortable with him around.

I feel like I can’t enjoy my friend as much because she is going through that honey moon phase where she is enamored by him.

So she started planning the event, and soon Mia asked her the inevitable.

Anyways, the big event is coming up on Friday, and our whole friend group wants to do something at the lake near my house. I am bringing BBQ, and we will be at my house for a while.

She told me that he asked her what she was doing for that Friday, and she asked me if he could tag along with us.

So she was finally honest with Mia — and it didn’t go over well.

I said that the problem is we would be going to my house, and I am not comfortable having men at my house, and that I want to spend time with them only for that day.

She didn’t sound very happy.

Wars are a terrible thing that result in lost lives, incredible damage to property, ruined environments, and many other problems.

They have such a devastating impact that wars are widely reported upon and talked about, especially when the war is between well-known countries.

Because of this, it is surprising to most people to learn that there was a war between Canada and Denmark that went on for 38 years.

Granted, there was no formal declaration of war. And there were no injuries or deaths involved. Given the participants in the war, it is likely not surprising that the entire affair was quite nice and funny.

Known as the Whiskey War of Hans Island, it can hopefully serve as a template for future geopolitical conflicts for years to come.

In the 1970s, scientific interest in the Arctic region was growing. This led to territorial claims being established by various nations, especially those of Canada and Greenland, which is a Danish territory.

Fortunately, the various countries were able to figure out who owned which islands without too much trouble. Hans Island, however, was the exception.

Both Denmark and Canada said that this small island belonged to them. Since the island is only 1.2 square kilometers (.5 square miles) and is nothing but rock, it wasn’t worth holding up any treaties or agreements, so the actual ownership of the island was left unsettled.

This worked out fine until the 1980s. Anyone who is involved in politics knows that if things are explicitly clear, someone will try to take advantage. A Canadian fossil fuel company did that by coming to Hans Island and conducting a survey, likely to determine if it could be used for drilling or other activities.

Word got back to the Danish government, and they weren’t happy about it. Tom Hoyem was Denmark’s Minister of Greenland Affairs at the time, and he knew something had to be done. He talked about it in an interview in 2022, saying:

“I was a little nervous. Such a border dispute could potentially be quite serious, and I knew that we would probably attract a lot of attention.”

He is certainly right. Even minor territory disputes have a history of escalating into very serious conflicts if they aren’t handled properly. So, in July of 1984, Hoyem and his team took decisive action that began the Whiskey War.

They loaded up into a helicopter armed with a Danish flag and a bottle of brandy. He explains what happened next:

“When we landed on the island, we built a stone cairn where we could put a flagpole and hoist the Dannebrog [Denmark’s flag]. On that stone cairn, I placed the [brandy] and a handwritten little card that said that everyone who comes by is welcome to have a glass, including Canadians. We thought that was funny, because no one comes by out there.”

It took some time, but when Canadians next visited the island, they shot back by removing the Danish flag and replacing it with their own. Naturally, they also took the brandy and replaced it with a bottle of Canadian whiskey. To rub salt in the wound, they left a note that said, “Welcome to Canada.”

The intense conflict raged on for years. Anytime a Danish ship or helicopter visited the island, they would put up a Danish flag and a bottle of their favorite liquor. When Canadians visited, they would do the same with their own flag and whiskey.

Of course, they always included a funny or sarcastic note when they left, ensuring the other country knew that they owned the land.

In 2005, both countries decided that they needed to solve this problem once and for all. So, they began negotiations over this small rocky island that nobody really cared about. As you might expect with any type of geopolitical negotiations, things moved slowly.

It took 17 years before the two countries could agree that they would split the island in two, each taking half. The island would be split from north to south along a natural ridge line. In 2022, representatives from each country met in Ottawa and signed the agreement, exchanging bottles of liquor for one last time.

So far, this peaceful solution has held strong. Perhaps someday another country will come in and reignite the Whiskey War once again.

I (15F) got invited to Amy’s (15F) 16th birthday and don’t want to go.

Basically Amy is in our group and has caused drama ever since she joined.

Amy doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to being a good friend.

Prior to being in our group, she was in a group with Tiffany, and Amy’s mum would constantly spread rumours and lies about Tiffany (a 12yo girl) to the other parents till she had no friends.

Amy’s mum would also constantly copy Tiffany’s mum with things she bought and holidays they would go on.

So Amy continued her manipulative behavior.

When that group collapsed, she joined our group and Amy would tell her mum everything we do, and her mum would pretend to be her when msg in the group chat, as her mum wants her to have friends.

And we would notice by the choice of vocabulary she’d use.

Amy seemed particularly close to one of the girls.

She never really talked to us and would literally just follow us around the school, especially when it came to June.

It’s like she had a special attachment with her, and when we go out her mum would be there and force her to join our conversations and/or photos we took.

Her birthday was coming up, and she soon ran into a world of drama with the guest list.

Anyways, it was my 13th bday and that same year I had got really close to Tiffany, but didn’t invite her as I knew the drama between her and Amy.

Came to know Amy cancelled a week before the party because she was going abroad to America.

Mind you the invitations were sent out 3 months before, and then it was too late to invite Tiffany.

She obviously found out and got upset, but understood why I didn’t invite her.

So Amy was invited to another birthday party and trouble soon followed.

Moreover, it was June’s 15th bday, and we spent a night at a hotel. Amy was obviously invited and her mum stayed at the hotel too.

Later on, our friend’s friend Nick came and got alcohol with him (not for us to drink, it was just his — it’s pretty easy to get alcohol at our age from where we live) and he put it in the safe until he was there.

Soon the parents got involved.

When Amy saw Nick, she went to tell June’s mum and she became furious and proceeded to take Nick out of our room, making him leave the alcohol behind.

Later on we noticed Amy wasn’t in the room as she had went to her mum’s room, and we went to the pool.

As we went, Amy told her mum about the alcohol and she told June’s mum.

Now everyone was in big trouble.

Both parents took the opportunity to search our room and found the alcohol which got everyone in trouble, especially our friend that was close to Nick.

More happened along the years but we chose to ignore it as we were ending HS. No one really likes her, especially her mum.

Then came even more drama.

The day after I made a group chat about my 16th, she made one.

She invited our group and 30 other people that she didn’t talk to and made sure to exclude Tiffany’s group.

Mind you we talk to Tiffany’s group more than we talk to Amy.

She weighs her other commitments.

Anyways, many ppl aren’t going, my friend isn’t going bec it’s her dad’s bday, and some people aren’t going as it’s our prom two days after.

The only people that are def going are June and Liam, as their parents are forcing them to go.

On that day I’m getting my nails done for prom and there’s going to be a party that Tiffany’s group are going to.

After all she did, I’d rather go to the pool party which my group is also going to.

This friend group sounds like it’s swimming in drama.

We’ve been friends since high school and I was very excited to have her by my side.

I put together baskets for my bridesmaids that included a printed list of the dress code for the wedding.

Dress codes can quickly become a touchy subject.

This list included that I wanted them to wear a green dress in any style or shade, silver heels, and light natural makeup.

Devin typically dresses in a very traditional goth style with the white base, heavy black eyeliner, ect.

I love her style and I think she looks absolutely beautiful in it, however, thats not the look I’m going for at my wedding.

That’s a fair enough boundary.

She texted me a few hours after after I gave her the basket saying: “So, I’m not allowed to wear my makeup to the wedding?”

I explained to her that if she wanted to be a bridesmaid she would have to adhere to my dress code, but she was welcome to just come as a guest and dress in her normal style.

She responded basically saying: “If you don’t want me to be myself then I don’t need to be there at all”.

Not a great look after you just got a gift basket.

I told her I wasn’t trying to change who she is, I just want her to match the rest of the bridesmaids for one day.

She got very upset and said I was trying to “aestheticize” all my friends and that I cared more about a photo than my friends’ comfort.

My friends and family are all very mixed on this situation, some saying I was being controlling and purposely excluding Devin while others agree that it’s my wedding and she’s being very dramatic.

Weddings tend to bring out the worst in people.

Devin hasn’t spoken to me since our text conversation, and I’ve heard from mutual friends that she’s saying she’s “not welcome” to my wedding which is just not true.

I feel like I was being very reasonable and even offered a compromise, but I also don’t want to lose a friend over something this small. AITA?

It’s not uncommon for a vendor to be mistaken for an employee.

So, what would you do if someone asked you for help in a store but got annoyed with you before you could even explain that you don’t work there? Would you keep trying to clarify? Or would you just let them walk off and figure it out?

In the following story, one vendor encounters this very thing with a customer. Here’s what happened.

I don’t work here, and neither do any of the customers.

As a vendor, I get asked questions by customers on a daily basis.

“Where is X?”

“Is this the Y that’s on the coupon?”

“Can you check if Z is in the back?”

An older woman approached him.

I also wear a uniform and can be seen stocking shelves, so I understand their confusion.

If I’m able, I’ll do my best to help them out or help find a store employee. But most of the time, I can’t answer their question.

Here is what happened today…

Older woman: “Can you tell me where the marshmallows are?”

She had a comeback ready for him.

Me: “Actually, I don’t work here, bu-”

And before I could even finish my sentence, she fired back with, “Okay, well, I don’t work here either.”

She then rolled her eyes and walked away without another word.

I wish I could end this story by saying I came back with some witty remark, but I didn’t. The end.

Wow! That was actually a great comeback from her.

Imagine having a joint bank account with your spouse, but your spouse keeps giving money to family members without even talking to you about it first. Would you be okay with this, or would you be upset?

In this story, one wife is in this situation, and she’s furious! She has decided to put her money in a separate account, but she’s not sure if that’s the right thing to do or not.

Let’s see how their financial circumstances went from bad to worse.

AITA for separating my finances from my husband because he won’t quit giving his parents money?

Me and my husband have been together for over nine years and separating our finances never occurred to me until this past year.

I’m the saver and he’s the spender.

In the beginning it didn’t bother me because we had two incomes and wasn’t rich but lived comfortably.

Their circumstances have changed.

His family has always “borrowed” money from us but rarely ever pay that money back.

I personally don’t lend money not even to family but I do not stop him from lending to his.

A few years ago my husband was in a bad car wreck and can no longer work so I became the sole breadwinner.

He now gets disability but that was a four year process.

They’re in debt.

In that time we dwindled our savings to nothing and came close to losing everything.

Our debt mounted and there was nothing I could do.

When he received his back pay I only asked him to pay off his vehicle a loan in which I’ve paid over 50 grand on in the last few years and put some in savings.

He did neither. Instead he blew the money. Loaning over 10 grand to his family and paying nothing towards the debt we created.

She wanted to pay off the debt.

During this time I was able to save some money from my paycheck but not much and had plans to pay some debts off once I have enough saved.

He knew I was saving to do this.

About a month ago I noticed over 700 missing out our savings and I asked him what happened!?!

He replied with I loaned it to my parents.

She was furious.

I asked when he was going to receive it back because that money was already spent and I needed it.

He said I don’t know when they can afford to.

I blew up an lost my mind.

He didn’t ask me, we didn’t speak about it. He did it behind my back because he knew it would tick me off and I would say no if he asked. We had a huge fight.

It happened again.

I figured after that fight he would stop. But no…

Yesterday I checked my account and another thousand dollars was gone.

Gone where u ask? He gave it his parents.

I’m so mad I see red.

She no longer wants him to have access to her money.

I flat out told him that as of today I’m done with his parents. I’ll pay half the household bills buy our food and that’s it. If he wants to lend all his disability to them fine but I’m not gonna go bust my butt 60 hours a week so he can keep giving our money away.

So AITA for going to the bank and withdrawing all the money I put there and opening a new account he don’t have access to?

He seems to think I am and says that I should want to make his parents happy.

I would like to see them happy I just don’t want to pay for that happiness.

I’d be mad too! If he’s going to take the money without even talking to her about it first, she definitely needs to keep it safe in a separate account.

When something genuinely interests you, it’s easy to forget you’re not even being paid to help.

So, what would you do if you stepped in to help someone, and after assuming you work there, they start praising you to the store manager? Would you just stand there and let them talk? Or would you immediately let them know you don’t work there?

In the following story, one woman finds herself in this situation and corrects the customer. Here’s how it all played out.

Woman tells the manager I should work here after telling her I don’t

There’s a pet store nearby that is attached to a cat adoption shelter I used to volunteer at.

Because of my interest in animals, I had wanted to work at the pet store itself for a while, and as soon as I heard they were hiring again, I sent in an application.

Soon after, I got the interview, but I was nervous out of my mind because this was my first-ever interview for an actual job I’d get paid for.

Time went on, and I still volunteered at the adoption center attached to it, and although I saw the manager who interviewed me from time to time, I never actually heard back. It upset me, but hey, what can you do?

She helped the woman all the way through the store.

So, a few weeks after the interview, I was finishing up my shift at the adoption center and getting things ready for the next volunteer.

Now, although I didn’t have any pets at the time (nor any money to get anything for them), I still liked looking at what was there and generally just browsing for a while.

While I was cooing at the angry Cockatiel up for adoption, I noticed a woman who looked like she needed some help.

She offered to help.

Being the kind soul I like to believe I am, I asked if she needed any help.

She did, and since I wasn’t doing anything, I helped her out. Practically following her around the store, recommending things she’d need from what I’ve heard from others, and lifting heavy things like kitty litter or dry food into her cart.

When we were done, I helped her up to the register, and who do I see cashing people out?

The manager.

The customer praised her.

As I helped her organize her stuff to scan, she was going on and on to this manager about how nice I was, and how much I helped her, and what a great employee I was.

I kindly corrected her that I didn’t work here, but cheekily remarked that I had submitted an application a few weeks ago.

The woman then went on a mini-rant about how I should be hired and just how kind I was.

After she checked out, she went on her own way, and I went on mine to head home. Never did hear back about that job.

Wow! It was so nice of her to help the customer.
