2013-05-27T09:47:00.000-07:00

Hello you, long time no see! I haven't been around lately because I've been busy working on my newly-launched online concept store The Kloud Store and blog. Here are just some of the items you can find in The Kloud Store which I have filled with all sorts of different objects and accessories from all over the world. However, these Scandinavian items from Muuto I love specially. I am SO proud to say that the photos were taken by me (with a little help from a friend, thanks Cristina!).

Don't be shy and drop by my new store and blog for a visit!!

Happy Valentine's!

2013-02-14T06:24:00.000-08:00

I've been absent for quite some time. Sorry. I thought today would be a good day to pop up, to wish all my followers a very happy Valentine's. I don't particularly celebrate this day much, not at all in fact, but I've been feeling kind of nostalgic lately so I thought I'd reach out to you guys and just let you know I appreciate your support and the fact that you've been faithful to my blog all along.

I'm really busy at the moment working very hard on a new ambitious project which has kept me awake for the past few months. I am very excited about it, will soon let you all know what it's all about...

Enjoy the rest of the day with all your loved ones!

The women in my life!

2013-01-24T08:23:00.000-08:00

I dedicate today's post to the very special women in my life, specially to my sister Becky who is my biggest fan, and my best friend. I have been greatly influenced by the women in my life. First and foremost my mother, who passed away when she was only 47 years old. Then my little sister Becky, who was born when I was 12. She bounced into my life to change it forever. And then there is Maria, my daughter, who is my greatest inspiration. I love her to bits. I am sad, but I am also happy! Maria has left this blog to set off on her own journey. She is now dedicating herself to her very successful fashion blog The Urban Cloud and I wish her all the luck in the world!

I loved writing to you on Two Clouds in the Sky, even though it wasn't for long. On the bright side there will be plenty of ¨M¨in my new blog. These are some of my favorite outfits so far, I hope you like them and I will be waiting for you in my new blog The Urban Cloud

For the last time in Two Clouds in the Sky...

Camel Friday. By S.

2012-12-14T13:07:00.001-08:00

I mean camel as in color, not as in animal...

So, it's time to show off a bit. I am going to show off about the weather in Mexico City. It's usually quite mild all year around and winter months especially are lovely because it can get quite sunny and although temperatures are cooler it's perfect for sitting out. Here I am sitting in my terrace wearing my camel-colored suede boots purchased in Saks 5th Av. alongside my Prada bag. Now that's showing off...

And here is our golden retriever Jambo, looking very regal also dressed in camel (!)

I love how flowers in Mexico bloom all year around, check out my azaleas!

HAVE A HAPPY HAPPY WEEK END!!!!!!

A blissful apartment. By S.

2012-12-13T13:58:00.002-08:00

Continuing with our theme of beautiful Scandinavian homes in Elle Decoration, I thought it would be ideal to show you this breathtaking uncluttered apartment in Copenhagen. I love the soothing monochromatic palette with subtle touches of grey. As in yesterday's Danish home (here) this apartment also has white wooden floors, white walls and white ceilings allowing the weak northern European winter light to bounce off and multiply. I also love the way the vintage objects take center stage against the neutral background. And last but not least, please check out the sheet hanging over the bed in the bedroom, what a great spontaneous canopy!

Space to Breath. By S.

2012-12-12T19:19:00.002-08:00

Simplicity. That is what this house transmits..., but simplicity with a bit of edge and lots of style. This monochrome Danish apartment photographed by Birgitta Wolfgang Drejer will appear in the January 2013 issue of the great British magazine Elle Decoration - one of my favorite magazines of all times and which I can actually purchase in Mexico City (thank God).

What is my favorite piece of this whole apartment? Maybe the olive tree sitting regally in a black pot... I also love love love the the sheer curtains in the bedroom. And by the way, I am fascinated with the oval wall where the custom-made desk has been placed in front of the window. I also adore the way the white ceiling is an extension of the white walls which in turn are an extension of the white floors. Very nice.

Christmas lunch. By S.

2012-12-08T19:55:00.000-08:00

The table is fully set for lunch, this time of year is all about celebrating with friends and family.

It's the first time I've placed the Christmas tree in the dining room.

I got this Christmas ornament in San Francisco a few years ago.

The tree is actually a live tree which I ordered over the internet.

Check out the miniature sweaters that hang from the tree, aren't they adorable?!

They are hand made by the mother of a friend of mine.

A view of the dining room from the living room.

Even the guest bathroom has a touch of Christmas with the linen towel.

The foyer of our house has red ornaments which I purchased in Zara Home.

A typical Mexican nativity scene.

Christmas is literally just around the corner and it's the perfect time of year to invite friends and family over. After setting up the tree and Christmas decorations a few friends came over for lunch. In Mexico the month of December is taken up by Christmas lunches and dinners, everybody's schedule is usually very busy.

Juicy Couture Jeans, Urban Outfitters Shirt, Hakei booties, Marc Jacobs watch

It can’t get any better if you have your favorite pair of jeans and button-up shirt in the same outfit. I fell in love with these jeans as soon as I saw them on Karlie Kloss during Fashion’s Night Out. Back in September I wrote a post on them in Two Clouds in the Sky as a trend alert and I was definitely right. After a long month of trying to convince my parents these were the perfect pair of jeans and I needed them in my closet. I finally came up with the money and I did not wait a second to get them. I first struggled to find ways to style them but after a wile it was like they had been mine forever. Because these jeans make a big statement it is best if you pair them up with a simple shirt and shoes. Some people might say buying GOLDEN jeans is a huge risk, but to all those people I encourage them to take the risk. Fortunatly more and more stores are offering these types of jeans so they start to get easier and easier to find.

Flying Houses. By S.

2012-12-01T07:48:00.001-08:00

"These images..., are they paintings or are they photographs?" That is precisely what I asked myself when I set my eyes upon them for the first time. Well, it turns out that they are in fact photographs, incredible but true, and they are the creation of the French photographer Laurent Chehere. This Parisian, who used to be in advertising, one day decided to drop everything and dedicate his life to his true passions, traveling and photography.

I love his management of color, as well as the way he has handled the images to make them look ethereal, even surreal.

An eclectic home in London. By S.

2012-11-29T11:36:00.000-08:00

I have to admit it... I am a total neat freak, a crazy control freak and I think I suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder (well not really, but nearly). I obsess over details, I am an incorrigible perfectionist and I pick up after everyone as if I were a mad woman. So, when I bump into homes like this one I realize that there IS beauty in spontaneity, dysfunction, in eccentricity, in imperfection and in eclecticism. Not everything has to be perfect to be beautiful, on the contrary. I vow to change my ways...

A unique caravan shop. By S.

2012-11-27T11:42:00.000-08:00

What do you think of this beautiful little caravan from Brisbane, Australia? It's to die for, isn't it? We discovered it via one of our favorite blogs 79 ideas who wrote a post on it recently. The caravan actually belongs to the multitalented Kara Rosenlud, a photographer turned stylist, buyer and vintage wares retailer.

Kara restored the 1956 Franklin caravan and converted into a unique traveling home wares shop which is full to the brim with beautiful vintage wares.

The slipper shoe. By S.

2012-11-25T05:50:00.002-08:00

This week, while on a pre-Xmas shopping spree in Houston, I bought these Cole Haan slipper shoes. As soon as I walked into the Cole Haan store I was instantly drawn to them and luckily they had them in my size and were actually on sale (thank you Thanksgiving!). I had been craving for a pair of slipper shoes since the summer, in fact I had had my eye on a pair from Pretty Ballerinas while on a trip to Madrid but when I went to purchase them they had run out of them in my size. I love that these ones come in speckled haircalf with just the little extra touch of red.

Taking advantage of the sale, I decided to buy this other pair of slipper shoes as well. They are covered in black sequins and will help add a bit of sparkle to any outfit. I plan on wearing them very soon with skinny jeans and a loose black sweater.

Which of the two do you prefer??

We wish you a happy week end.

Winter 2012 bracelets. By S.

2012-11-16T13:50:00.001-08:00

I present the Winter 2012 Bracelets which I purchased recently in Mexico City to substitute the infamous Summer 2012 Bracelet (click here to check it out!). I figured it was time to move on... And I think these are more appropriate for my warmer more sombre clothes. The watch I am wearing is an Hermès Cape Cod bracelet which I got as a gift last Christmas.

Oh no...

New Muuto lamp at home. By S.

2012-11-14T18:27:00.000-08:00

I recently purchased this wonderful lamp from the Scandinavian design brand Muuto and I love it so much I keep moving it around the house trying to figure out where it looks best. I originally envisioned it in Maria's bedroom, but I think it would look nice in the TV room so that the whole family can enjoy it. The lamp is made out of unvarnished wood and I find its basic clean lines extremely appealing, it has such a great unpretentious look to it. I also love the green cord which contrasts nicely with the clear wood.

In the images the Muuto lamp is sitting on an old table I bought in a flea market. I sanded it down and I think it looks just fine like this without a coat of varnish. As for the chair it's a reproduction of the great Eames chair which I recently did a post on (click here!). I finally got around to buying it. The natural hide on the floor is antelope, I got that from my sister Becky who bought it on a trip to South Africa last year.

I would like to thank my dear friend Cristina for helping me out with the images of today's post. She takes wonderful pictures and is currently helping me out with the photography of an ambitious project I am embarking on... Gracias Cristina!
