Present rules at least until december.

Healthy people of 60 to 70 have been asked today not to get the flushot, a there is a lack of it.

In 4 provinces there seems to be a slower increase: Northern 3 and Zeeland. Those are the less populated areas that are more difficult to reach.

It's my tree!

So we were up and about a lot earlier than other days, due to a call the man in the house would get from a nurse.
I'm not one of those people who are glued to the window and note every movement outside, but this time I heard a strange noise and looked up .
The neighbour was pruning my tree, without asking, and I saw too many bare parts to feel confident about letting him go on.
In fact, I know that tree very well and know it needs old branches to be happy again next spring.

My intention was to prune it next week into a round ball, and that idea was destroyed, without even asking me.

Under normal circumstances I try not to have contact with those two people. They act weird, have constant rows together with open windows and doors, so we know all the subjects those rows are about, and they always want something. Most of the time unfunded things as a tree cut down because of shadow that never reaches their garden, etc etc.

On the photo you see the result.

I went outside and said I could understand he wanted to cut the branches off, but that he was going too far. With a joke (yea, really? It sounded like a joke...) I told him that when the tree wouldn't be nice next spring I was expecting a new one.
Wished him success with his own tree, which is really like a hippy without hairdresser, and went inside.

So did they...
Haven't seen them the rest of the day.

Will ask my son to remove the part at the right and in the middle, so it only hangs over our garden, away from theirs.

But it's sad.

I used to share the gardens with the former neighbours. We had lots of fruit, apples, all sorts of berries, and veggies, like lettuce and spinach and even beans and peas.
The new neighbours killed it all.
But worse of all they destroyed my joy of gardening.

It's like they have a movement sensor directed at our door, because as soon as I enter the back garden they come outside too and watch what I am doing.
Never a kind word...

Hospital Dordrecht is closed for new patients. It's full, and to many of the careteam are ill at home.

People have to inform themselves well when they want to travel abroad. The rules have been changed for some areas.

Belgium has announced that the hospitals will be full in two weeks.

Denmark registered more than 1000 new positives a day. Figures can't be compared with the first wave as more tests are conducted.
145 patients in hospital.
The rules have been changed. No alcohol sold after 22.00 hours, gatherings of no more than 10 people.
Beginning thursday masks in supermarkets, shopcenters, etc.

Italy: in lots of cities protests against the rules

It seems the elderly can reach immunity with the vaccination, but more research is needed.

The data of new positives of yesterday were corrected.

The data of new positives of today were published hours after the usual time due to technical issues at the local health authorities.

Not all data were processed, so the figures of today are not complete and those of tomorrow will be higher.

Napels. Protesters feared that a curfew from 23.00 to 05.00 hours would lead to a total lock down.

Call from the nephrologist .. a bad one

Had an appointment with the nephrologist which was changed into a phone-call.
I don't like talks on the phone. I can't see the other person, I wonder if the other person, like a doctor who sees so many people, knows who she is talking to.
And I have the strange feeling that there should be no silence.

So I don't feel at ease, don't feel the rest I exerience when I'm at the hospital face to face with my doctor.

My nephrologist is nice, but I kind of miss her personality on the phone.
It's good to see her smile during a consultation.
So I miss that too.

Covid however put us both in this situation.

So the call went like a train at full speed.

How I felt.
I forgot to tell I experienced pain in my left kidney, have pain in my legs.
'Fine'.

So the labresults were as expected. One way or another I always keep calcium, potassium and such under control.

She didn't mention my glucose, so it must have been off again, and I forgot to ask.
She asked if I managed to get my meds sorted.... So I told her about the new GP and how unhappy I am with her.
She asked why I still hadn't had my eye check up. 'Guess they have postponed it to the next year because of Covid.'
Later I thought that maybe they had put an appointment in the files without informing me there was something in the files.

Then suddenly she said she was going to refer me back to my GP.
I was amazed.
But considering the non-existent relationship with the present GP and my search for a new one we agreed that I see the nurse once more and she doesn't send the final letter until she gets the all clear.

Left: anemia.
Yep, anemia again. 'That explains the tiredness'. Pity she didn't ask if I had forgotten to tell her more of my problems....
But as often the unexplained anemia corrects itself, she decided not to treat it.
She agreed I would inform her if I felt it lowered more.

She asked if I was a vegetarian. 'No, I like a piece of meat with my dinner once in a while'.
'Do you follow a secial diet?'
I said 'no'.

Which was downright stupid, as I do. And she knows.
That happens with me on the phone.

I follow a kind of complicated diet, but I'm so used to it that I regard it as normal, but it isn't.

And I forgot to ask for an echo, as I intended.

So the call was a bad one from my side.

Afterwards I had the feeling I was once more moved to the care of the GP to make place for corona patients.
Feeling forgotten by the system, as my cardiology appointments have disappeared, was already a small issue.
Let's say it has grown.

I feel lost.
Can't find a good GP, no one cares how I feel, but two friends who live abroad.

I should be happy that I'm referred back....
But I'm not.

Presenting me to a researchteam as vulnerable, and the next week pushing me to a GP.

I had the feeling she was on my side in caring for my health, and that's over.

Last week an estimated number of 3200 people have died in The Netherlands. That means 400 people more than expected.

The transport of patients to IC's in Germany has started.

It's forbidden to serve alcohol in bars, restaurants and hotels, and by roomservice, after 20.00 hours until 07.00 hours..

The Healthinspection wants a registered doctor at the commercial testlocations.

The Frenchspeaking part of Belgium has a curfew between 22.00 and 06.00 hours. Until 19 november.
The rest of Belgium stays inside from 24.00 hours to 05.00 hours.

Germany reported more than 11.000 new corona positives: 11.242
Total: 403.291 positives and 9954 deceased. 49 the last day.

France (67 million inhabitants) has reached 1 million Covidcases. The 7th country in the world.
Last day 42.000 people were diagnosed with Covid-19, leading to a total of 1.041.075.

Italy registered 19.143 cases.

Luxemburg faces new restrictions. People have to stay inside between 23.00 and 06.00 hours, and social contacts are limited.

In contrast to the first wave, almost all admissions to the IC are referrals from the Covid-wards.

The increase at the IC is now larger than the increase at the C-wards.

Half of the IC bedsd are now used by Covid patients.

The burden on the caresystem is increasing, not only in hospitals, but also in carehomes, at GP's

Kuipers calls it a tsunami. He expects an increase in hospital admissions until at least the end of the month.

The doubling which was seen in Belgium and Germany is also seen in The Netherlands. 1000 cases 15 days ago and now over 2000.

Next week 1350 IC beds will be added, and 7 fast test streets, with the support of the military.

For the first time in Germany 10.000 new positives were registered in one day.

The Czech Republic reports almost 15.000 new cases.

The RedTeam, a multidisciplinairy group of 12 experts, suggests a strict lockdown to combat the virus.

It's suggested that the increase of new positives is less than before.

It took 4 years of asking, but finally son 2 came to prune the trees.
I never intended the trees to get as tall as they are now.
I always kept them as high/low that I could reach up and prune.
But I got ill, was admitted to the hospital and couldn't do anything for a long time.
Got plenty of promises.
And none realized that promises make trees grow even faster and wider.
So this year the garden was full of inedible cherries, the tree filled with doves and I was finally happy with the shade during this far too hot summer.

So son came, and started using his new electric saw.
Like always the neighbour was outside within two minutes. He started ordering my son around: 'that tree needs to be pruned'.
'I know and that's why I am here.'

So I hope the neighbour will shut up with his complaints about my garden, as he rented the house knowing how my garden was. And I'm not doing the garden for him. He has cost me one tree, and that is enough.

So son worked hard, and now part of my cherry tree is gone. Will show a photo later.

The whole garden is full of branches and cut wood. Can't walk anywhere without almost falling.

Well, that'll be a lot of work cutting it in small pieces. Ivy for the greenbin, and the cherry branches for a corner in the garden.

Finally!!! Half the garden has been done.

20% of regular care is not taking place.

23 people have been transported to other hospitals, of whom 5 IC patients, from the west to other parts of the country to enable hospitals to provide as much regular care as possible.

The special ambulance helicopter is in use again.

The situation will be assessed 3 times a day.

We now have 1150 IC beds available.

During the first weekend of the partial lockdown 435 coronafines have been given. 756 warnings have been issued. They are registered so people will get a fine after 1 warning.

If this increase continues it's expected that in November 4500 Covid patients will be in hospital.

That is a lot more than at the height of the first wave of the pandemic in april. Most optimistic view involves 2400 patients.

The government has taken today and last weekend as decisive for new rules.

They will probably be announced tomorrow at the pressconference.

Yesterday they met with scientists, today with the Outbreak Management Team.

There will also be a meeting of the health safety board.

After weeks of reasonable internet the whole issue of the traffic light quality started all over.
Couldn't do anything online, because when I opened a new site: internet gone. Wrote a post and trying to upload it: internet gone. Wanting to read the news.... guess what?

Of course it was not only my problem. Everyone in the house was quite annoyed, and the son who lives in another part of town: he got irritated too.

But at the helpdesk of the internetprovider they didn't know of a problem.
So they're not worth to be called a helpdesk.

The girl who is supposed to be of huge asistance didn't know anything at all. Finally gave some urls... which of course can't be visited with 'no internet'.

Stupidity, utter stupidity!!

The last 2 weeks hundreds of patients have been transported to other hospitals, mainly from West to East and North of the country.

But spreading the cases isn't going as well as it should.
To maintain regular care at a good level will be almost impossible.
Already some hospitals have cancelled surgeries and are seeing less referrals.
Those are hospitals in: Noord-Holland, Flevoland, Rotterdam-Rijnmond and Zuid-Holland Zuid.
Next will be UMC Utrecht.

It's expected that the increase of hospitalisations will continue for about a week. At the beginning of next week the number will be about 1250.
The IC patients will count up to 300.
But the problem is not the IC, as in the first wave, but will be at the Covid-wards, the socalled Covid-clinical beds.

Kuipers states it's a bit too early to assess if the last measures have been successful, but when the present developments continue new rules need to be announced.

Of all patients at the IC 29% are Covidpatients.

Of all Dutch people more than 7,5% is dealing with Covid-19
