In the 2nd part of this article I’ll explain you how to promote your forum, attract members, good posters and everything else that I haven’t mentioned in the 1st part.

So, now that you have know about how to choose a domain and about the scripting part, let’s move further with tips on promoting your forum to attract more members. To be honest, the number one priority of any forum administrator is to get maximum traffic to their forum, so that they can capitalize and get more advertising dollars. There are different ways in which you can achieve this goal.

The best way to seek attention of others is to provide good quality information. Of course, there may be other forum sites, which might be more popular than yours and probably that has more traffic than yours, but remember, “where there’s Quality, there’s crowd”. If your forum has good quality information, you may gradually get more and more traffic through word of mouth publicity, and more and more people would come to your site to complete their quest of information.

Also, while deciding the forum guidelines, please remember to keep it simple and straight. Do not over censor and use ambiguous statements, which may confuse the members. Treat every member in the same way and make guidelines that you think are morally correct and fair to everyone on your forum. While selecting moderators for your forum web site make sure that their primary motive is to help the community, and not financial gain.

If you have a budget for giving away incentives and rewards to your members for contributing good quality information, do it. Incentives and rewards can provide great boost to the members, to provide more top quality posts on your forum, which will in return get more traffic to your forum web site. You can inform your moderators to select one or two members who have contributed immensely to your forum, or you can create some kind of contest and reward members who start the best or most active threads.

Another way to get in more members on your forum web site is through the posters. It does not sound convincing, but it works. The overall look of your forum web site, posters, and easy options provided to the members can really give your forum site a competitive edge. Always remember that to make your forum site attractive and popular, you have to keep it organized to draw in more visitors.

Twitter is a revolutionary social networking website that offers the facility of ‘following’ people who share your interests. Whenever you search a term, you get to read comments or “tweets” by different users regarding that term. If you find an interesting tweet you then click on that person’s profile and decide to follow that person. What ‘following’ means is that you receive the person’s updates on the first page after sign in. The person who you follow gets notified of your following and can follow you back.

One of the advantages of the ‘following’ someone on Twitter is that there is a good likelihood that that person follows you back. This is very beneficial for promotion of one’s blog or a website, or for any other kind of promotion for that matter. It is for this reason that many people on Twitter start following others anticipating a follow back. There are cases, however, where you don’t receive a follow back. Over time, the list of non followers increase and it gets difficult to keep a track of such non followers. So when it comes to un-following the people that don’t follow you back, manual selection and deletion becomes a tough job; especially if the list of such non followers is long a long one.

The world wide web though, has many solutions to this problem. Many good coders have made neat little apps that do the work of deleting the non followers for you like this and this. All you need to do is to open their websites enter your Twitter username and the websites do the rest. Many websites have more add on features such as searching for people that are likely to follow you if you follow them (based on statistics), among others. With a press of a button you can follow these people without having to follow each of them individually, and if they don’t follow back in some time you can always un-follow them again with the press of a button from that very website (although you can use other websites also).

With speedy growth of business and information technology in every field, time has become the most important factor in all terms of accuracy and results. With information increasing exponentially, it becomes important for it to be shared in the right manner precisely when required.

Several tools which have helped in sharing information across the globe have now come off age, under one major constraint of time. Wit emails, to blogs, to web postings to articles, all have proved to be beneficial in their own times. Perhaps, now its time for everything is being quick and instantaneous.

Man thinks in the first instance and creates in the second. The answer for such quick work and fast query is Twitter, a micro blogging website providing simply 160 characters to express you as vividly as possible. And the best advantage being of its access anywhere to everywhere is it on the mobile while travelling, or on the internet while sitting at home. It has hence, become possible to report anything to everything at the right instance without any latency.

It also provides a huge benefit in terms of advertising one’s business across the globe. Yet again the key question would arise as to how to make the client attracted towards you. The answer lies in making the tweet (the set of 140 character statements) more interesting and catchy at the first look.

Everyone suggests to not to mention mundane tasks of your daily chores onto twitter, but yet its creativity at hand as to how you put it on. The key to attract benefit lies as to communicating something that transcends the subject for your tweet and creates in return value for your followers from it. The best way is to have the three simple rules in mind:

1) Be useful (useful information does no harm)

2) Be interesting and descriptive (Posing questions to share people’s opinions)

3) Think outside the tweeter world.

The world of twitter is still new and perhaps the idea is to learn to change the reader’s life and not the writer’s. So, make interesting tweets and help spread the wisdom of knowledge.

Buying Dropped Domains: Aye or Nay?

Those who are in the business of buying websites or starting their own from scratch will know that getting a domain is one of the most important decisions you could ever make. However, I dare say not everyone knows everything there is to know about buying dropped domains. In this post, I shall give a brief overview about the issue of purchasing dropped domains and the pros and cons of doing so.

Firstly, let me define the meaning of dropped domains. Simply said, dropped domains are domains that have expired either by choice or by accident. If a domain owner did not renew his or her domain, then you can snap it up immediately which can be VERY beneficial to YOU.

How so? Let me illustrate this better by using the following scenario. Mr. A owns a PR 5 domain with a very nice list of backlinks. His domain contains a pronounceable keyword, all 5 letters of it too! To top it off the keyword has rebrandable value and sounds very Web 2.0. Problem is, Mr. A is quite the domain tycoon and has no less than 108 domains to his name so naturally he can be quite forgetful and eventually forgot to renew said domain. Along comes Mr. B and voila, he sees the dropped domain that used to belong to Mr. A and “inherits” it in a flash! All Mr. B did was search for dropped domains at sites like this and that, pay for the domain and he gets everything Mr. A has worked so hard for. Unfair but things like these happen.

However, buying dropped domains is not entirely a bed of roses. You may get scammed in the process, especially if you signed up with shady looking sites that promises you ongoing lists of dropped domains for a “a minimal, montly fee”. Also, unscrupulous sellers will try to peddle you dropped domains that boast of high PR but in actual fact, have 0 PR and was just created yesterday. All they did was redirect the domain from another similar site to make you believe that the site you will be paying top dollar for is a high PR domain.

So you see, buying dropped domains has its own pros and cons. My tip is to weigh them out properly and use your common sense when posed with the question whether or not to buy dropped domains. Good luck!
